In today's Square Enix showcase, the publisher revealed Life is Strange: True Colors, the third mainline game in the acclaimed narrative adventure series. Developed by Deck Nine, the team behind the Life is Strange prequel game Before the Storm, Life is Strange: True Colors will release September 10 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Google Stadia, and preorders are live starting today. This marks the first Life is Strange game that has released as a full package rather than being broken into episodes that are released over time. However, True Colors will still be told over five chapters.Life is Strange: True Colors introduces a new protagonist named Alex Chen (played by actress Erika Mori), who travels to the idyllic mountain village of Haven Springs at the invitation of her brother Gabe. However, after her brother dies in a tragic accident, Alex becomes embroiled in the larger mystery behind what may have happened to him. Like previous Life is Strange protagonists, Alex has a secret supernatural power: the psychic power of Empathy, which allows her to experience, absorb, and manipulate the emotions of others. Like in Life is Strange 2, Alex also has two potential romantic interests in the form of her friends Ryan and Steph (the same Steph who appeared in Before the Storm).Whether you're a longtime Life is Strange fan or looking to see what the series is about for the first time, you can preorder Life is Strange: True Colors today. As soon as major retailer links are available, we'll include those here. For now, check out what comes in each edition below and where you can preorder digitally.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Publisher Square Enix has revealed Life Is Strange: True Colors, the next game in its supernatural-focused, choice-driven series, will launch on September 10 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC, and Stadia. The game is being developed by Deck Nine.If patterns are anything to go by, True Colors is likely not a new mainline entry for Life Is Strange. It's probably more like Before The Storm, also developed by Deck Nine and released in between Dontnod Entertainment's Life Is Strange and Life Is Strange 2. Game director Zak Garriss said that True Colors began development in 2017, so Deck Nine has been working on it since the release of Before The Storm."At its heart, this is a game about empathy--about how we connect to each other," Garriss said. "The story is driven by a complex mystery, with supernatural elements all brought to life by an incredible cast."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Life Is Strange: True Colors is set to launch September 10. Publisher Square Enix and developer Deck Nine have revealed that the upcoming choice-driven game will abandon the episodic release schedule used for the first three Life Is Strange games.Musician mxmtoon (who provides the vocal performances for when protagonist Alex Chen sings) said that True Colors will still be divided into individual episodes like the previous games, you're just now getting the full package all at once. True Colors will be five episodes long.Personally, I think this is great. Life Is Strange's episodic release schedule always felt strange to me. Episodes weren't releasing on a weekly basis like a TV show (a storytelling strategy that games like Fortnite and Apex Legends occasionally employ to great effect) so they didn't produce that same kind of drive to tune in, see what's new, and finish an episode in order to join in on the weekly conversation with friends and coworkers.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Like the previous three Life Is Strange games, True Colors is a very choice-heavy, story-driven game. Among those choices is the option to romance one of two characters, one of which is a familiar face from Life Is Strange: Before The Storm's Steph. On her first day in Haven Springs, protagonist Alex Chen meets several folks in her brother Gabe's life, including Ryan and Steph, both of whom can become good friends with Alex. But if you play your cards right, Alex can romance either one of them. We've never seen Ryan before; he's a new character for Life Is Strange. In the trailer for True Colors, Gabe describes Ryan as his best friend and we see Ryan aiding Alex in her investigation into her brother's death, so he seems like a decent enough chap.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Ubisoft has revealed that the first major expansion for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, titled Wrath of the Druids, will release on April 29. The expansion sees you travel to Ireland."Explore and smuggle your way through the haunted beauty of Ireland as you gain the favor of Gaelic kings and confront the druidic cult, the Children of Danu," Ubisoft writes in a blog post. "This expansion will be available as a standalone purchase or as part of the Season Pass."Similar to Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Valhalla is scheduled to get two large pay-to-play expansions following its release, with smaller free updates sprinkled in between the two, such as The Ostara Festival that has just begun. Marvel's Avengers should have been the biggest success story of 2020. Given the incredible popularity of the MCU and Marvel's iconic characters as a whole, some would say the game should have been a slam dunk. And yet, it stumbled out of the gate in August of last year and has been struggling to pick up momentum since. The circumstances that have contributed to this are numerous, not the least of which is tougher working dynamics as a result of working from home. Content updates have been meager and quality-of-life changes have been slow to make their way into the game. All this, on its own, has frustrated the dedicated sections of the community, and caused others to abandon the game. What has compounded this, however, has been a lack of transparency and communication. That is something that developer Crystal Dynamics has acknowledged itself and pledged to change. And it has already taken a stride forward in doing so by detailing its roadmap for the game. What players of Marvel's Avengers can expect for the coming months has been laid out fully--some with timeframes for their launch, others with more vague "as soon as it's possible" timing.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The next-gen version of Marvel's Avengers has been released, and while you can transfer your save from the existing version, the process is somewhat inelegant for those on PlayStation. Players will need to hold off on deleting the PS4 version of the game until some specific steps have been completed.Users are instructed to update the PS4 version of the game to the latest update, Patch 1.5.0, and head to the in-game "Save Migration" tab in order to start the uploading process. Crystal clarified that "the latest update for the PS4 version" is required to download the PS5 version. How To Transfer Marvel's Avengers PS4 Save To PS5Launch the fully patched PS4 versionNavigate to the Save Migration tabStart the uploading processLaunch the PS5 versionDownload PS4 save dataBecause the PS4 version of the game must be updated in order to initiate the save migration process, users won't see the "Save Migration" tab unless their PS4 copy has been updated to the latest 1.5.0 patch. That means you need to avoid deleting the PS4 version in order to download the PS5 one until you've completed the migration process. The studio noted that Save Migration is "necessary to boot the save on the PS5 version" even if PlayStation users have the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game on the same console.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Immortals Fenyx Rising's first major DLC, A New God, feels like it's calling a bluff. Ubisoft's open-world template has gotten flack over the years for turning its sprawling worlds into a sea of icons that push you to beeline it to the next objective. If that's gotten stale, why not cut out the "open world" part? That's more or less what A New God does: It abandons any pretense about these games being about discovery and traversal in favor of a set checklist of challenges. The idea works in concept; the self-contained puzzles were some of my favorite parts of Immortals, so this DLC is in some ways exactly what I wanted. It, unfortunately, doesn't work as well in practice. Although it introduces some clever ideas to tease your brain, the way these ideas are implemented are extremely hit-or-miss, as agonizingly inconsistent and frustrating as it is clever.A New God doesn't spend much time getting you up to speed with its story or gameplay, so you should probably finish the base game before you jump in. After the events of Immortals, Fenyx is ready to ascend into the pantheon of gods they'd helped free from Typhon--as soon as they prove themselves worthy by completing a number of puzzle and combat trials designed by said gods in Olympos.I'm surprised by how little I miss the parts of Immortals that A New God trims. You don't explore Olympos much, since it's more of a hub than a world. Immortals' eye-rolling humor (which still can't land a punchline most of the time) is also thankfully easier to ignore than it is in the base game, as it's delivered almost entirely through quips from the gods trying to amuse you or impart advice as you play.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Seamus Blackley, the designer of the original Xbox, took to social media to share his experiences getting the coronavirus vaccine, and urged others to show up for their vaccine appointments despite misinformation about its safety. In a brief Twitter thread, Blackley said that he got the Moderna vaccine. He explained that there had been 150 people who missed their appointments in a Los Angeles clinic, and that the medical staff there had to use the vaccines or throw them away. He went on to say that misinformation is dangerous and that the doctors and nurses were putting themselves at risk to help others. He also noted that he had been waiting his turn behind higher-priority groups, so learning that some doses were getting tossed out due to missed appointments was frustrating."The misinformation is tragedy," he said. "There's no danger. Get your vaccine. Please. Stop this f***ing virus. It will mutate and get worse."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Zack Snyder's Justice League is finally out, which now ushers in the era of the director both being asked and speaking frankly about his previous plans for a sequel--and whether they have any bearing on current plans for one. In a recent interview streamed live on YouTube with Wonder Meg, a channel "dedicated to all the nerdy things," Snyder was asked exactly this by the titular Megan. To which, Snyder replied: "All of the New Gods would be rolling in at some point. In the full invasion of Earth… I think you'd have to go full pedal-to-the-metal with the New Gods at that point. 'Cause the third movie is a New Gods invasion movie in a lot of ways."Unfortunately, Snyder didn't get into any deeper specifics. Beyond what was discussed in passing, even if Snyder won't get a chance to tackle a New Gods story, Emmy-winner Ava DuVernay (Selma, When They See Us) will. Way back in 2019, it was announced that DuVernay would be teaming up with Batman writer Tom King on a New Gods film from a script the pair co-wrote. In another recent YouTube interview, Snyder told The Minutemen in February that his version of Justice League would "tease" at the New Gods with "the implication that the rest of them are there… in this movie you see DeSaad, you see Darkseid, you see one other in the throne room of Apokolips."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
