Like other roguelikes, the question of how long it'll take you to "beat" Returnal in part comes down to a combination of your personal skill and the luck of the draw. Weapons, upgrades, and health drops are all randomized, as is the map you face on each run and the challenges that might stand in your way. So how long it takes you to hit the credits is going to come down to whether you get a series of solid runs or not and how much difficulty you find in the bullet-hell battles developer Housemarque throws at you.But there are more caveats to the length of Returnal as well. Though it's not immediately apparent, the game is divided into sections, with some key story developments dividing up the experience. The end of the first section leads to significant changes in the game, creating something of a midpoint from there on out. After the next section, you'll see the credits and an ending cutscene. However, there's more to uncover in Returnal after that point. So with all those exceptions in mind, here's a rough idea of how long it'll take you to complete each of the big portions of Returnal and how much time you will likely sink into the game.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Director James Gunn has shared some new insight on the upcoming Peacemaker TV show starring John Cena. A spin-off from The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker has a number of seemingly disparate influences, according to Gunn.Gunn started off with a joke, mentioning that his biggest inspiration is Cena taking his Peacemaker costume home to nap in it, which actually happened. More seriously, Gunn said some of his other major inspirations for Peacemaker included the hit AMC TV show Better Call Saul, the video game series Dance Dance Revolution, tighty-whitie underwear, the band Def Leppard, the 1970s Captain America TV movie, and a "rotten childhood."Given Gunn's trademark proclivity to be silly on social media, it's not exactly clear which of these inspirations are real and which are only for laughs.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The VFX team Corridor Crew has used its effects wizardry to correct what it perceives to be one of cinematic history's biggest missteps: Warner Bros. Pictures' digitally removing Henry Cavill's mustache in the Joss Whedon version of Justice League. The crew has uploaded a 15-minute video walking viewers through its rationale in devoting time to create a proof of concept clip with Cavill's mustache added back in, the cutting edge technology (really) involved, and then finally treating fans to the big reveal.A major throughline in the video is a flag-planting plea for Warner Bros. to release the "mustache cut" of the film, declaring that seemingly minor change as enough to put it on par with or become the definitive version over the recently released four-hour Zack Snyder version. Hey, anything is possible, right? Check out the clip below and decide for yourself. With the recent rise of potentially troubling deepfakes--an emerging form of media in which an existing image or video is replaced with someone else's likenesses--this video is a nice change of pace with a silly use of some of that technology. Around the 12-minute mark, there are some pretty wild technical hiccups, like Superman's mustache being punched clean off his face.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Destiny 2's Guardian Games event comes with new cosmetic items that take after its competitive, Olympics-like theme, but along with the new gear have come a few bugs. Bungie has released the patch notes for its latest update to the game, which irons out issues like a bug that made Guardian Games bounties non-repeatable, and most notably getting rid of an error that would make Titans turn invisible in the first-person perspective.Bungie detailed the changes it made in Hotfix 3.1.1.3 on its website, but it's not a long list of patch notes. The biggest note is the one that fixes Titans' Contender armor, which can be purchased from the Eververse store. When you play in first-person mode as a Titan wearing that armor--which is basically the experience of the entire game--the bug associated with it would make your hands disappear. That made for some pretty hilarious moments of reloading floating guns, but with the new update, the problem should be fixed. The patch also dealt with another cosmetic error that affected the glow feature on Warlock Contender armor, and fixed an issue where players couldn't some repeatable Guardian Games bounties if they'd already completed them that day. In general, the issues fixed should clean up the event a bit, but none of them seems like they were game-breaking for most players anyway. Check out the full patch notes below.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

EA Studios boss Laura Miele has shared a new tease about the next Battlefield game, saying in an interview that it's going to include new modes that give players more opportunities to have "only-in-Battlefield" moments through the franchise's signature sandbox.Speaking to GamesBeat, Miele said one of the best things about the Battlefield franchise is its sandbox elements. The Battlefield series is known for its excellent sandbox that lets players have all different types of experiences, and players can expect this to continue with the next game."It is a sandbox that DICE has always provided players with weapons and vehicles and destruction in the environment. And then these crazy 'only-in-Battlefield' moments happen. This emergent play comes from players," she said. "So as you can imagine, taking that strength, and taking that superpower in this franchise and building on that in the future game is definitely part of our strategy. So new modes that are going to be added to the game experience are really in service of this ability that we want to give players to have a bigger impact on their experience."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Respawn has released the full patch notes for the Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy update. The new season introduces a ton of balancing adjustments for several legends, with the most welcome change being made to the game's resident healer, Lifeline.Lifeline has become a bit of a frustrating problem in Apex Legends ever since the adjustment to her and Octane's abilities in Season 5: Fortune's Favor during the Lost Treasures event. Her Combat Medic passive ability was transformed into Combat Revive, allowing her to use her D.O.C. drone to revive someone while she kept fighting.Since Season 5, players have abused this perk--Lifeline's D.O.C. drone erects an impenetrable shield when reviving a squadmate, which Lifeline can hide behind to reload or quickly heal in the middle of a fight. This made her far too dangerous.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The announcement was made in a video call Kirkman uploaded, in which he dials star Steven Yeun to tell him first.Invincible is an adaptation of another comic from the prolific Kirkman, but whereas The Walking Dead opted for live-action, this series is animated.
