A Valorant Esports committee has issued a six-month suspension to Jay "Sinatraa" Won following an investigation into sexual assault allegations levied at the former Overwatch MVP last March.The Competitive Operations team, a committee within Valorant Esports responsible for enforcing policy regulations, said the suspension was a result of Won "failing to fully cooperate with the Tournament Operator's investigation." This transgression is in direct violation of Rule 8.1 of the Valorant Global Competition Policy, the committee said in the announcement.The committee detailed how it came to suspend Won. During the course of the investigation, the Competitive Operations team deferred the process of fact-gathering to the authorities after it learned that the matter was brought to law enforcement. As the investigation was underway, the committee said it had "serious concerns with [Won's] conduct." The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has been renewed by NBC for five more years, according to Deadline. As also reported by that publication, this news comes after it was announced that host Fallon extended his contract in November, after his previous contract ran through the end of 2021.There was little, to the point of almost zero, doubt that Fallon would be staying on with both The Tonight Show and the network. The late-night host, the sixth for the long-running Tonight Show franchise, has steered this incarnation of the show since 2014 and is currently involved in six projects for the network--an explosive and impressive run that started with the performer joining the cast of Saturday Night Live back in 1998.Fallon's renewal and extension comes as, meanwhile, NBC has canceled Lilly Singh's NBC late-night talk show, A Little Late, after two years on the air. Variety is reporting that the network is exploring filling the time slot with something that isn't a talk show, but no announcements with concrete plans have been made. Call of Duty's 'Reloaded' update for Season 3 of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone is scheduled to arrive on May 20, but PlayStation users are now receiving the option to pre-download the Black Ops Cold War mid-season portion. Actor John Boyega (The Rise of Skywalker, Small Axe) is set to reunite with writer-director Joe Cornish on Attack the Block 2, a sequel to the film that arguably launched both their careers back in 2011. According to Deadline, Boyega will be reprising his role as low-level crook Moses in a film that, like its predecessor, is expected to straddle several genres including sci-fi, horror, and comedy.In the original movie, Moses and his teenage street gang defend themselves from vicious alien invaders who touch down on Guy Fawkes Night. The film, whose cast included Jodie Whittaker (Broadchurch), Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz), and rapper Paigey Cakey, was a cult hit that landed better with critics than audiences--that the film is getting a sequel is a testament to the growing stature and celebrity of all those involved.Deadline is also reporting that Boyega will co-produce Attack the Block 2, with Cornish writing, directing, and also producing. The voice actor for Guilty Gear Xrd's Ramlethal Valentine won't return to voice the character in the Strive sequel. Nicolas Cage and John Travolta star in a film about an FBI agent (Travolta) who has plastic surgery to look like a domestic terrorist (Cage) to find out where a bomb has been planted. However, the terrorist--who is faceless at this time--wakes up and has surgery to become the FBI agent. The movie was directed by John Woo. Does it hold up? Yes, like a peach... one you could eat for hours.If you're looking for something a bit lighter that doesn't have epic action sequences or Cage singing in a priest's outfit, there are plenty of game shows arriving in June as well. On June 4 the next season of Beat Shazam arrives on Hulu. That's a show where people have to guess the titles of songs faster than a computer. Who is better at recognizing songs, man or machine? As part of Pokemon Go's Luminous Legends Y event (which begins tomorrow, May 18), developer Niantic has kicked off a Team Go Rocket challenge in the game. If players around the world can collectively defeat 25 million Team Go Rocket grunts by May 23, Niantic will unlock a handful of bonuses for the second part of the event, including a new Shiny Pokemon.The bonuses will go live beginning May 25. First, all players will receive triple the normal amount of XP for catching Pokemon for the remainder of the event. On top of that, Galarian Zigzagoon will begin appearing in one-star Raid Battles. This opens up more opportunities to catch the regional variant in Pokemon Go.Perhaps most enticing of all, Niantic will also introduce Shiny Galarian Zigzagoon to the game if players can complete the challenge. As summer nears, Marvel Studios' TV machine is starting to ramp up. Loki has turned into one of our most-anticipated Disney+ shows, and the wait ahead is getting shorter. Along with the trickster god, Disney+ will be getting singing teens, and a bunch of new library titles.June 9 marks the beginning of Marvel's third Disney+ TV series, Loki. While one version of Loki (Tom Hiddleston) sacrificed himself for the good of the universe in Avengers: Infinity War, time travel always gets weird. The version of Loki fresh off his defeat by the Avengers in 2012 got his hands on the Tesseract and disappeared into the time stream. The series, starring Hiddleston, picks up with his capture by the TVA--the Time Variance Authority. Loki has to make up for his time crimes, working with TVA middle manager Mobius M. Mobius, played by co-star Owen Wilson.It's not all time trickery, though. The critically-acclaimed Raya and the Last Dragon joins the library alongside Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Us Again. X-Men Origins: Wolverine joins the growing library of Fox-produced Marvel projects on the service as well. The second day of Final Fantasy Fan Fest 2021 kicked off with a Live Letter From the Producer that outlined the next major update to Final Fantasy XIV. Director and producer Naoki Yoshida led the presentation and detailed what's coming to patch 5.55 with regards to the new main story quests, the Save the Queen questline, the full PS5 version of the game, and much more. Lead story designer Natsuko Ishikawa also joined the presentation to discuss her work in creating FFXIV's narrative.Patch 5.55 is set to go live on May 25 and it'll be the last major update leading into the upcoming Endwalker expansion. Additionally, the PS5 version of the game will officially go into service on May 25--this updated version of the game went into live beta in April and has been playable ever since for owners of the PS4 version playing on PS5, so the official service date is more of a formality, but it's the date nonetheless. FFXIV on the PS5 supports native 4K resolution, higher frame rates, a high resolution UI, DualSense haptic feedback, new trophies, and 3D audio support. There are also graphics options for 1440p resolution and better frame rate and 1080p for an even consistent frame rate. Owners of the PS4 version of the game can upgrade to the PS5 version for free.
