Netflix has announced that Big Mouth, the streaming service's popular adult-skewing animated series about teens enduring puberty, will be spinning off with "the even edgier and adult-ier" series, Human Resources. Stars Nick Kroll and Maya Rudolph will reprise their roles, respectively, as Maury the Hormone Monster and Connie the Hormone Monstress in a show that's kinda-sorta like Monsters, Inc.The new show's official synopsis reads: "The spinoff pulls back the curtain on the daily lives of the creatures--Hormone Monsters, Depression Kitties, Shame Wizards and many more--that help humans journey through every aspect of life from puberty to childbirth to the twilight years. It quickly becomes clear that though the creatures are the protagonists, they have a lot of humanity themselves."So excited to finally reveal the insanely talented cast for Human Resources, the @bigmouth spin-off, set in the workplace of our creatures. Filled with Hormone Monsters, Shame Wizards and sooo much more. This. Show. Is. Bonkers. https://t.co/n5kYpBDNeb — nick kroll (@nickkroll) June 14, 2021David Thewlis (Harry Potter), who plays The Shame Wizard, will be joined by franchise newcomers Aidy Bryant (Saturday Night Live), Brandon Kyle Goodman (Feel the Beat), Keke Palmer (Akeelah and the Bee), and Randall Park (Fresh off the Boat). Human Resources will be animated by Big Mouth animators Titmouse, though no production start or release date has yet been announced.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Epic Games and Tribeca Enterprises--the organizers of Tribeca Film Festival--are trying to make it a little bit easier for aspiring animators to create films. In fact, a new extension of the Unreal Fellowship program will provide educational workshops to help them learn how they can use the technology to create their projects--even those that have nothing to do with gaming. The program will be led by Unreal Engine experts and will provide information on how to use the technology for "cutting-edge entertainment, compelling visualizations, and immersive virtual worlds." Though it certainly began its life as a video game engine and it's immensely popular for this purpose, Unreal has already seen use in film and some major film projects are even created in it. Mutant Year Zero, for instance, is being adapted for the big screen with Unreal. "The technology that has powered so many of today's most renowned video games is becoming more and more essential to the production of films and television shows, and our mission is to provide a platform for independent filmmakers to learn more about these incredibly powerful tools and resources available to them," Tribeca Festival co-founder CEO Jane Rosenthal said in a statement on the festival's website. A bipartisan group in the U.S. House of Representatives has introduced five new antitrust bills aimed at restricting the power of large tech companies like Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google. As reported by the New York Times, the bills represent a drastic overhaul of current antitrust laws, providing additional funding for regulators and making it easier to break up businesses using power in one area to force its way into another area. This comes a year after an antitrust committee released a report declaring that the big tech companies have been engaging in monopolistic practices. These bills are posed to be some of the most drastic measures taken against tech companies if the bills are passed. One of the bills would make it illegal for a company like Google to prioritize its own businesses on its search engine. Google would need to weigh YouTube results on Google equally with other businesses or would have to split off the video company.Another bill would prohibit a company with a dominant platform from using its influence to lock out competitors from its platform or from demanding conditions for those who want access to its business. This bill would have a direct impact on Apple, which has been dealing with an antitrust lawsuit from Epic Games for using its dominance over the iOS platform to take a large percentage of profits from apps on its store. While all of the bills do have bipartisan support, it does not necessarily mean that they will be easy to pass.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Developer WayForward is light on other details at this point, but one of the characters in the art released so far looks an awful lot like Marian Kelly. For the uninitiated, Marian is the damsel in distress who gets punched in the stomach at the beginning of Double Dragon. She later appears in River City Girls running an accessory store called Swaggage. But, much more importantly, she's also sporting abs for days. That's a stomach that could break a few fists. Her arc from helpless damsel to face-punching heroine will be complete if she is indeed playable in River City Girls 2.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
