With the promise of 128 player matches on current-gen consoles, Battlefield 2042 would need a consistently high player count to make sure players always have an enemy to fire at. Since that's not possible to guarantee, developer DICE has thought of a way around the issue: lots of bots.According to a post on EA's website, Battlefield 2042 will be keeping servers constantly packed using AI soldiers. That being said, there isn't a guarantee that you'll be going up against bots in every match. AI soldiers will be "used for server-filling capabilities, ensuring your matches remain full, no matter your location." In other words, if your server can be filled with 128 real players, they will be.It's worth noting that on last-gen consoles, players likely won't see as many bots thanks to a lower player count. On the PS4 and Xbox One, games of conquest and breakthrough will only go up to 64 players, as opposed to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, which can house up to 128 per match.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Deviation Games says its upcoming PlayStation exclusive will be "big in scope." The brand new studio, set up by former Treyarch developers Dave Anthony and Jason Blundell, made its first appearance during last week's Summer Game Fest kickoff event by announcing that it's working on a "groundbreaking" new IP for Sony."Make no mistake: This game is gonna be big in scope," CEO Anthony said in a recent interview with Eurogamer. Deviation has already been working on the game for over a year at this point and has over 100 people on staff. The game's still a ways out, though, and Anthony is keen to hire more developers to continue building up the studio with the right people and the right culture. With the game being this far out, Deviation and Sony are keeping tight-lipped on any specifics, even when it comes to platforms. With that said, PlayStation Studios' Hermen Hulst is clearly excited to talk about the potential of the new partnership. "Together we're bringing a new IP that's bold, that stands on the shoulders of what these guys have learned over their careers that speak for themselves," Hulst said. "We're always looking to offer fresh new experiences to the audience, to the PlayStation community. It's also an honour for me as the head of PlayStation Studios to find a group like Jason, Dave, and their team to work with us."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

You'll need to find spray cans this week in Fortnite as part of the Fortnite Week 2 challenges. Spray cans are an item that will only appear on the map so long as your related Epic Quest is active, and though there are eight to be found across Pleasant Park and Dirty Docks, you'll ultimately only need to know two Fortnite spray can locations to complete the challenge and earn 30,000 XP. Here's where to collect spray cans from warehouses in Dirty Docks or garages in Pleasant Park.Fortnite Spray Cans In Pleasant ParkThe convenient thing about this challenge is that there are eight spray cans available on the map, but you'll finish it off much sooner after just two spray cans are collected. Not only that, but the cans are evenly split across Pleasant Park and Dirty Docks, with four in each location, so you actually won't even need to venture to the second locale once you've found two at the spot of your choosing.Because every match is different and the best drops are often based on where the Battle Bus is heading, we'll still show you all eight spots anyway, beginning in Pleasant Park.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Nintendo closed its E3 2021 presentation with a fresh look at one of the most anticipated games in a long time: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's sequel. The new trailer showed off more of the game's setting, gameplay, and tone, and it also confirmed a release window for the game: 2022. Though a specific date hasn't been revealed, retailers clearly thought that was good enough for them to push their listings live, which means you can finally preorder Breath of the Wild's sequel right now.As thrilling as it is to see the sequel pop up at stores as a real, physical thing you can actually buy, it's worth keeping in mind this game is still very far out--we don't even know if it's called Breath of the Wild 2. Right now, retailers have opened preorders for the game's standard edition, which is priced at $60 USD. The Breath of the Wild sequel is sure to have some kind of collector's edition, so if you're the type to hold out for a special edition like that, it's probably not worth snagging the standard edition just yet. But if the base game is all you want, you can secure your order today, if you'd like. Forza Horizon 5 was officially revealed during the Xbox and Bethesda E3 Showcase. The reveal trailer gave us plenty of information, including its Mexican setting, dynamic weather system, and the introduction of a new Horizon Arcade that lets you compete in over-the-top racing challenges. Now, we also know that Forza Horizon 5 will be the biggest and most diverse game in the series, as creative director Mike Brown explained during an interview with IGN."Right from the very beginning of development, we knew that we wanted to make the biggest Horizon ever," Brown says. He explains that part of this approach means doing something new rather than simply expanding the scope of the game while offering more of the same. "So it also has to be the most diverse and the most contrasting Horizon ever, as well," he continues.Mexico stood out because of its natural diversity, with snowy mountains, historic cities, jungles, rolling hills, farm land, beaches, and mountain ranges all part of its expansive landscape. It should allow for more varied gameplay opportunities than we've seen from the series before.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Actor Jessica Henwick, who is also among the newcomers for The Matrix 4, is joining the Knives Out 2's sizable cast, according to Deadline. Daniel Craig's detective character, Benoit Blanc, will be returning as well.Although no plot details are known, it is assumed that the massive list of names will, as in the 2019 movie starting the franchise, comprise a huge number of potential suspects and trails to follow as Benoit Blanc interrogates people involved in a murder. It would not at all be out of the question to expect further casting announcements in the coming weeks.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A hacker collective has figured out how to run the 1993 shooter Doom using the components of an Ikea lightbulb--because why not. If it has a computer inside, it can probably run Doom, and this is the latest demonstration of that.Next-hack published a lengthy blog post detailing how the group disassembled the approximately $20 TRÅDFRI LED wireless lightbulb to extract its RF module and combine that with other components--a bit more flash memory, a cheap160×128 SPI display, etcetera--to build the setup. There were some restrictions the group put on themselves, however, namely that the "microcontroller [must have] reasonably limited computing power and/or memory, with respect to vanilla Doom's minimum requirements." On top of limiting computing power, next-hack required themselves to play Doom using the embedded microcontroller, not some replacement.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
