Final Fantasy VII Remake and a remaster of Alan Wake could be coming to the Epic Games Store, as site tracker EpicData tracker spotted listings for the games on the Epic Games Store database. For Final Fantasy VII Remake, it was found on the database listed under the codename "Pineapple" in the cloud saves sub-folder. Originally a PlayStation-only game, Final Fantasy VII Remake's 12-month exclusivity period ended in April this year, although publisher Square Enix made no mention of what was next for the game. What was mentioned was that the new Intergrade content from the PlayStation 5 upgrade for Final Fantasy VII would remain a timed exclusive, but it's worth noting that Square Enix's relationship with Epic Games saw the Kingdom Hearts series made available on PC for the first time as an Epic Games Store exclusive back in March.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

When Thanos came to Fortnite in 2018, it became the first major crossover event of the game's now storied history in that regard. Whether players missed him before or just hoped he'd return someday, Thanos is coming back to Fortnite for the first-ever Thanos Cup, where top qualifiers will have a chance to unlock the Thanos skin in Fortnite for free and ahead of his Item Shop debut.Thanos will hit the Item Shop next week on June 26 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET. He'll come bundled with the Infinity Gauntlet Back Bling including all six Infinity Stones properly placed and ready to wipe out half of the island--okay, that part's on you, actually. It seems entirely likely that Epic will once again sell the Snap Emote too, so players can complete the look.Maybe Thanos will someday be available for half off.Fortnite Thanos CupBefore his Item Shop release, Thanos can be won in the Thanos Cup. In the game's Competitive tab on June 21, players will find the Thanos Cup, an open tournament for all Fortnite players willing to vie for The Mad Titan's new cosmetics. In Duos mode and across up to 10 matches during the tournament's three-hour time limit, players will need to survive the Storm, outlast and eliminate other opponents, and score cumulative points, following a similar scoring system to other Fortnite Cups of this nature, whereby players get more points the longer they survive and for every elimination they record.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

If you've been looking to play one of Sega's more classic games without having to shell out cash for a retro console, the good news is that you can return to 1988 in Lost Judgment. New footage from the game has revealed that a playable Sega Master System is in protagonist Takayuki Yagami's pinball office. You can see the retro games played, at around the four-minute mark in the video below:It's not clear how many games will be playable on it, but at least two of them were shown off: 1986's Alex Kidd in Miracle World and 1988's Penguin Land. The first Judgment game had a pinball machine in Yagami's office, which was then replaced by an OutRun arcade machine in the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. Yagami clearly has a mercurial taste in gaming hardware.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Developer Granzella is taking a very bizarre step with its shoot-'em-up revival game R-Type Final 2. Via a free update later this year, the game is getting turned into R-Type Final 3. Yes, the game is turning into its own sequel, in one form or another. In a post on the game's Kickstarter page (it initially received crowdfunding before its release earlier this year) Granzella outlined a development roadmap for the rest of 2021. R-Type Final 2 will be getting more DLC stages and player ships in either June or early July, and over the course of the summer, there will be improvements to the PC version, more player ships, more data, and additional stages. But the real kicker is what is promised by the year's end: R-Type Final 3.This will be a free upgrade for those who already own R-Type Final 2, and a video explaining the roadmap was shared on June 18. Unfortunately, it's only in Japanese right now, with English subtitles promised at a later time. Releasing the sequel to a game so quickly is pretty rare these days, and, at least to our knowledge, no other major game has become its own sequel through an update like this. We've reached out to publisher NIS America for more information on what R-Type Final 3 will actually be.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Amazon Prime Day kicks off this coming Monday, June 21, and with it loads of deals across every category on the website. If you're looking for a new, powerful gaming laptop you'll be well treated during the event, but you might struggle to find a deal better than this one on the Razer Blade 15 Base. Razer has announced the Razer Blade 15 Base will drop to $1,000, down from its usual price of $1,500, during Prime Day 2021. This is the first time a Blade laptop has been available at this price, making it a hot ticket item during this year's Prime Day. Razer Blade 15 Base $1,000 (was $1,500) | Available Monday This is the Base model of the 2020 Blade 15, which means you shouldn't expect the latest Intel CPU or RTX 30-series GPU. But that doesn't mean you aren't getting a lot of power in a sleek, black aluminum chassis. The Blade 15 Base comes with a 10th-generation Intel Core i7-10750H, a Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti GPU, 16GB of RAM (which is user-upgradable), and a 256GB SSD. Along with access to the RAM, there is a spare M.2 slot for an additional SSD drive should you want to expand storage in the future, too. See at Amazon The design is like all other Razer Blade laptops, albeit slightly thicker than the pricier Advanced Model in the same range. That does, however, let the Base model ship with an Ethernet port, which joins two USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, and a single HDMI 2.0 output. The 15.6-inch display is 1080p and 120Hz, which will definitely shine with less graphically-demanding games.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin, whose book series was turned into HBO's Game of Thrones, also helped to build the world of Elden Ring and create some of its characters. However, during an interview with Chicago news network WTTW, Martin seems to misrepresent the game as a sequel to Dark Souls. It seems even the people who make From Software's games don't completely understand them. After being asked how working on a video game was different for him, Martin said, "Well, it actually is considerably different. I've played some video games. I'm not a big video gamer. But the game is called The Elden Ring, and it's a sequel to a video game that came out a few years ago called Dark Souls, and it came out of Japan."While it would be interesting if Elden Ring were a sequel to Dark Souls, that is likely not the case. Later on in the same interview, Martin spoke about his work on the game specifically, saying that he was brought in to build the game's world. "My work on it [Elden Ring] was actually done years ago," said Martin. "These games, they're like movies, they take a long time to develop. Basically they wanted a world created to set the game in, they wanted worldbuilding."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

With its breakout success, it shouldn't be a surprise that we're starting to see Knockout City begin to cross over with other popular titles. Knockout City fans have noticed that there's a narrative-driven conflict in the background of the dodgebrawl game. It's an element of the game that will become more prominent going forward, as developer Velan Studios plans to innovate on Knockout City's storytelling in future seasons."The fan base is asking for more lore and there are already really fun fan theories about the DJ on the moon and Malcolm Magpie," Velan Studios CEO and co-founder Karthik Bala told me. "We always intended Knockout City to be 'action in the foreground and narrative in the background.'"Similar to other online multiplayer games with prominent narrative elements like Apex Legends and Hood: Outlaws & Legends, Knockout City's narrative supports its world building. According to Bala, it brings some internal consistency to everything.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Bayonetta 3 was announced back in 2017, and with no news on the game--like, at all--since then, one might assume that something is wrong with development or it has stopped entirely. However, Nintendo has assured us this is not the case, though it didn't actually provide any estimate on when we'll see the game for the first time. During an interview with GameSpot's Tamoor Hussain, Nintendo Treehouse employees Nate Bihldorff and Bill Trinen confirmed Bayonetta 3 is still in the works, with Trinen even going so far as to say the game is "progressing well."In terms of what that means for us as eager players, it doesn't actually tell us much. "Progressing well" could mean it's in the early stages and the team is hitting its targets, or that it's nearing completion. Given the massive amount of time since it was announced, we're hoping it's the latter.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Having now entered its fifth year, the Nintendo Switch console is doing great business and the company isn't in a rush to introduce new hardware to the market, according to Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser."We are always looking at technology and how technology can enhance gameplay experiences," Bowser explained to The Washington Post. "It's not technology for technology's sake. It's how specifically can technology enhance a gameplay experience. And then where do you apply that technology? Do you want to apply it on current existing hardware or platforms, or do you want to wait for the next platform? And then what's the right gameplay experience with that? There's a host of factors that goes into it, and it's something we're always looking at."Bowser added that Nintendo is currently focused on its upcoming slate of games that cater to a diverse audience, a key pillar of the company's business strategy. Nintendo has also been branching out into other areas with its biggest intellectual properties, reaching the mobile gaming space, partnerships with Lego, and the creation of several theme parks around the world.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Andy Muschietti, who is directing the upcoming DC movie The Flash, is on a roll lately. After first sharing a tease of Michael Keaton's Batman costume in the film, as well as an updated look at Ezra Miller's updated Flash costume, the director is back again to give the first look at Supergirl's outfit.Naturally, the costume has a version of the iconic symbol also seen on Superman's costume--though it's important to note this is not the same insignia that's worn by Henry Cavill's Superman. More interesting to note, however, is that the costume looks to be employing a two-tone color scheme. The shoulders of the suit appear to be red, while the rest of the torso looks to be the classic blue of the traditional Supergirl costume. There's no telling if this particular design choice extends to the cape. It is interesting to note, this particular colorway choice somewhat resembles the outfit Brie Larson wears as Captain Marvel in the MCU. View this post on InstagramA post shared by Andy Muschietti (@andy_muschietti)Colombian actress Sasha Calle has been cast in the role of Supergirl. FIFA 21 players can now see what is inside loot boxes before choosing to purchase them, in a new feature added as part of the game's ongoing "Festival of FUTball" event.Called "Ultimate Team Preview Packs", these packs can be previewed in the game's FUT Store. As detailed by Eurogamer, players can choose to preview the contents via a pack opening animation. Players can then decide to purchase that specific pack. These packs can either be bought with FUT Coins, which are earned through gameplay, or with FIFA Points, which are acquired with real-world money. If a player opts not to buy the pack, the preview pack's contents will remain in the store for viewing, now on a timer. Once the timer expires, players can then choose to preview another pack. Ultimate Team Preview Packs are the only type of pack available for purchase during the duration of the event, though EA says other types of packs will return in the future. It's currently unclear if all packs going forward will support the new preview feature.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

There are two sequels to Rian Johnson's hit murder mystery thriller Knives Out on the way, which will stream exclusively on Netflix. Here's everything we know so far.Rian Johnson has had a fascinating and diverse directorial career to date. He made his debut with the 2005 high school film noir Brick, which was followed by the romantic caper movie The Brothers Bloom, and the time-twisting sci-fi thriller Looper. Next up was the Star Wars movie The Last Jedi. While some of that film's more surprising plot and character developments divided fans, anyone who had followed Johnson's career up to that point knew that he was unlikely to deliver a totally conventional Star Wars movie (after all, we have J.J. Abrams for that.)So it was little surprise when Johnson made another left turn for his fifth movie. Knives Out was a hugely entertaining old-fashioned murder mystery, with a star-studded cast clearly having a great time with the movie's dark humor, razor-sharp dialogue, and clever twists. Knives Out was a financial success too. It made $311 million worldwide from a modest production budget of $40 million, an impressive number for a Hollywood movie that wasn't a sequel, reboot, or based on an existing property. What's more, it earned Johnson an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
