The developers of Golf Club: Wasteland, a golf game where human life is wiped out and the Earth is now a golf course for the super-rich, have launched a unique marketing stunt hoping to piggyback on the news about Jeff Bezos and other billionaires shooting themselves into space.Demagog Studio's creative director Igor Simic is said to have had a "wake up call" recently and is choosing to remove the game from sale to the public and will instead sell it to just one person. The price? $500 million. Simic will then use the money to fly himself off Earth before the "inevitable climate, financial, and political apocalypse comes for the rest of us plebs.""Golf Club: Wasteland started off as pure satire. The ultra-rich playing golf on the remains of civilization after initially fleeing to Mars as Earth crumbled thanks to consumerism, climate disaster, and Silicon Valley-fuelled greed," Simic said. "Well, now I'm not laughing anymore. These rocket obsessed billionaires like Musk, Bezos, and Branson are already packing their designer bags, so it's time I sorted out my own ticket off this doomed planet."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Fear Street director Leigh Janiak has spoken about her plans for more movies in the Netflix horror movie series. The three-part series, based on RL Stein's hugely popular Young Adult horror series, hit Netflix this month.Speaking to IndieWire, Janiak explained that the amount of source material meant an MCU-style cinematic universe was a possibility. "One of the exciting things about Fear Street is the fact that the universe is big and allows for a lot of space," she said. "One of the things that I talked about before I was hired was that we have a potential here to create a horror Marvel [Cinematic Universe], where you can have slasher killers from lots of different eras. You have the canon of our main mythology that's built around the fact that the devil lives in Shadyside, so there's also room for everything else."Janiak went to talk about the unusual release schedule of the fear Street movies--one feature-length film released every week for three weeks--and how it gave her lots of scope for potential movies or shows. "I think that my hope is that audiences like it enough that we can start building out [more], we can think about what another trilogy would be, what stand-alones would be, what TV would be," she said.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Respawn has revealed the first details for Apex Legends Emergence, which is Season 10 of the popular battle royale game, and it's shaping up to be a big update. Emergence will release on August 3, and it will add an artistic new Legend, Seer, as well as an update to World's Edge, a new weapon, and a Ranked Arena mode. While we don't know a ton about Seer's abilities yet, based on the cinematic Metamorphosis trailer, he was born under a bad sign, which gives him strange powers. The Apex website mentions his "artist's eye," which may mean that he'll be able to see things that other Legends can't, similar to Bloodhound and Loba. Also, he has glowing blue microdrones that look pretty scary, so watch out for those. In terms of other additions, Emergence will include a new weapon in the form of the Rampage LMG, which appears to be a light machine gun similar to the Devotion and Spitfire. It will also add a Ranked Arenas mode to the game, which will allow players to become Apex Predators in both the game's core battle royale mode and 3 v 3 Arenas mode for the very first time. As with all Apex Legends seasons, Emergence comes with a new battle pass, complete with exclusive skins.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Call of Duty's Season 4 Reloaded added the new OTs 9 submachine gun, more weapon balancing and features to Warzone, but it also brought more glitches and frustrations, and it seems the pesky invisibility bug has returned.A few Reddit users are reporting and sharing clips of getting killed by invisible enemies with no way to counter it. One example is from Reddit user NosajnessBTR, who shares a clip of taking damage, but when they turn around to counter them, there's no one to be seen. After death, the KillCam clearly shows an enemy opponent behind them all along. Please tell me I’m not loosing my mind, but did y’all see the guy? This was taken yesterday July 17th from CODWarzoneIt's unclear if there are multiple issues causing the invisibility acts, but some players are posting YouTube videos of how to go invisible with complex methods of using equipment, dirt bikes, and one of Warzone's Red Doors. So, it seems like those magical doors are currently doing more than just teleporting players to secret loot stashes.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Soccer is indeed coming home to next-gen consoles. FIFA 22's first gameplay reveal will take place on Tuesday, July 20 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. According to the reveal's YouTube description, it will feature in-depth discussion with the development team as they explain the next entry's new features, including its HyperMotion technology, which uses machine learning to enhance the game's realism.EA formally announced FIFA 22 earlier this month. Given that it's an annual sports franchise, this was hardly a big surprise, but it did give us some exciting details about what this new entry will bring to the table. Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappé will be the game's cover star for the second year in a row, an honor that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have also received. The announcement also talked a lot about the game's HyperMotion technology, which will only be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia. To create HyperMotion, EA performed motion capture on 22 professional soccer players, and it will use machine learning tools to create new animations in real time. The game will also feature a completely rebuilt goalkeeper system, as well as the usual modes and teams you expect from a new entry in the franchise, such as Ultimate Team.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Director Kevin Smith is set to start production on Clerks 3 in August, according to a tweet by the man himself, which also shares that entertainment company Lionsgate has acquired worldwide rights to the film. This means he's also been able to hold true to his plans he announced in January to film the highly-awaited sequel this year. Also, back in January, Smith took to Facebook to share a fraction of the script's first page--which only set the scene for the movie's tone, but not much else. Via a release, Deadline now has a synopsis, which is: "Following a massive heart attack, Randal enlists Dante, Elias, Jay, and Silent Bob to make a movie immortalizing his life at the convenience store that started it all." Smith has indicated this will be a "personal story… drawing directly on the heart attack that nearly killed me (three years ago)." Filming will begin on August 2--Smith's birthday.“To be great is to go on.To go on is to go far.To go far is to return.”On August 2, for my 51st birthday, I return to Quick Stop - the little store that started it all - with my friends Dante, Randal, Jay, Silent Bob, Becky, & Elias! Thank you @Lionsgate for making CLERKS III! https://t.co/7IUNdleg8f — KevinSmith (@ThatKevinSmith) July 19, 2021Smith has written the screenplay and will direct, with all major cast members set to reprise their roles: Jeff Anderson as Randal, Brian O'Halloran as Dante, Jay Mewes as Jay, Smith as Silent Bob, and Rosario Dawson as Becky. With rumors swirling of a new multiplayer game coming from Ubisoft, codenamed "Battlecat" in early leaks, we finally have the first details of Ubisoft's next free-to-play multiplayer shooter--Tom Clancy's XDefiant. Developed by Ubisoft San Francisco, XDefiant is a 6v6 team-focused shooter that's more in the vein of Overwatch and Call of Duty than the tactical cover-based shootouts from recent Tom Clancy games. While Ubisoft's slate of games based on that franchise has stuck mostly close to military-realism and gritty storylines, XDefiant is described by Ubisoft as a fast-paced, "punk rock" take on a Tom Clancy game.Ubisoft has released an announcement video that provides a general overview of Tom Clancy's XDefiant, which leans heavily into quick, over-the-top skirmishes with other players. In an unusual twist for a Tom Clancy game, it's also something of a mash-up of Ubisoft's slate of military action games, incorporating gadgets and other elements from franchises like Splinter Cell, The Division, and Ghost Recon. This shooter will be a new live-service game for Ubisoft, which will see updates and new content over time. The developers have also hinted that XDefiant could go "beyond" the Tom Clancy universe, perhaps even adding factions from other Ubisoft franchises. The announcement video showcased the different available factions in their element, and they definitely use some familiar tricks and tools that players have seen from other titles. To be clear, you're not playing as established characters from previous Tom Clancy games, but rather fresh operatives who will move up the ranks. With the four playable factions--focusing on the Echelon, Cleaners, Outcasts, and Wolves--you'll be able to pick a side and expand your character's abilities and arsenal, which also include team-specific ultimates to let loose during fights. The operatives of the Echelon faction uses the same tactics and skills that the super-spy Sam Fisher had in the Splinter Cell series. The Cleaners and Outcasts also carry over many of the familiar gadgets and skills they used as antagonists in The Division. Finally, the Wolves from Ghost Recon: Breakpoint also make an appearance, and they're bringing with them their advanced crowd-control weaponry.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Since launch, it's been challenging to find one of Nvidia's RTX 30 series graphics cards. Worse yet, chances are that if you do manage to find one, its price has been grossly inflated, in part due to the ongoing microprocessor shortage. But if you've been patient and fancy on taking a chance, Best Buy might be able to help you tomorrow. On Tuesday, July 20, Best Buy stores nationwide will be selling new RTX 30 series stock as MSRP, with a system to try and limit scalpers as much as possible. Customers at one of the participating stores will be handed a ticket by a Best Buy employee, guaranteeing your chances to purchase a GPU when doors open at 8 AM. As expected, it seems some eager PC gamers have already started camping out to better their chances.Participating Best Buy storesBest Buy doesn't say which RTX 30 series cards will be on sale, nor does it list manufacturers, never mind how much stock each store will have on offer. That does make this a gamble, and one that might lead to more disappointment if you don't manage to secure a ticket. But it's been months since these GPUs hit the market at MSRP at launch, so this is one of those rare chances to take advantage.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
