Icarus, the new sci-fi survival game from DayZ creator Dean Hall's New Zealand studio RocketWerkz, has been delayed to November so the team can spend more time ensuring "the game is the best it can be our players."In an update post on the game's official Steam page, RocketWerkz said that in keeping a close eye on the development cycle, the team "decided that we want to give Icarus more love by delaying the game, and improving upon our Beta process by spreading it across multiple weekends, with each having a specific focus." Though it's been delayed a few months, the studio will hold a series of beta weekends available to those who preorder Icarus on Steam.The first runs from August 28-29, giving players a taste of the world by only opening the Forest biome and disabling Torrential Storms, sporadic weather events that impact the environment. The second will be available from September 11-12 and enables these climate irregularities. World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic's next patch is now live on the game's Public Test Realm, allowing players to test out two new raids in the form of Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep, as well as features like guild banks and a group browser tool.The test version of the game's patch 2.5.2 also seems to be curiously missing an emote, specifically the /spit emote directed at other players. Since the launch of Blizzard's MMO, players have been able to spit at other players or characters by targeting them and typing /spit. That no longer works in the latest PTR build, though players can still use the emote on the ground.Blizzard has not commented on the change, and the emote can still be used in the current version of Burning Crusade Classic as well as the latest Shadowlands expansion, leading players to wonder why exactly the change is happening. Horizon Forbidden West has reportedly seen its release date delayed until 2022. A group of creators working on the 14-year-old mod GTA United, built primarily inside Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, have decided to stop development fearing a DMCA takedown from Rockstar Games' parent company Take-Two Interactive.The modders said in an update post that the spate of DMCA takedowns the publisher has handed out in recent weeks raised many alarms. Halo Infinite beta players have found a creative way to compete prior to the game's official launch, and it doesn't even involve shooting each others' characters in the face. While the beta is limited to Arena Slayer and a training mode called The Academy, experienced Spartans have started racking up Academy scores to compare online.Academy is meant to be an advanced tutorial, helping onboard newcomers and teach veterans some of the more nuanced techniques that it takes to be a top-tier Halo player. Developer Norsfell and publisher Gearbox Publishing have linked up with a nonprofit to plant 40,000 trees in celebration of Tribes of Midgard's success, which has been downloaded over 250,000 times since its launch.In a press release announcing the news, the duo said that in the three days after the action-RPG dropped on July 27, Tribes of Midgard became the ninth-most-watched game on Twitch with 100,000 concurrent viewers.
