The weekend is upon us, which for Destiny 2 players means that Xur--the mysterious merchant who's here to either delight or disappoint you--has arrived. He's got another slate of Exotic items for sale, which you have a limited time to buy. Here's where to find Xur and what he's selling for this week.Xur's Year 2 appearances have seen him return to his same old locations, and this visit is no different. Right now, you can find Xur on Titan. Head to the The Rig landing zone, turn left, and make your way through the open building. Once you reach the next wide open area, turn left again and drop down one floor. You'll find Xur hanging out in a building, as seen in the map below; you can also watch our video above for guidance on how to reach him.In terms of items, it's the standard lineup: one Exotic armor for each class, and one Exotic weapon. The weapon is Tractor Cannon, the Portal gun-looking shotgun that prevents affected enemies from using abilities and makes them take more damage, especially from void. More entertainingly, however, it also blasts enemies backwards. For armor, Titans get the Synthoceps gauntlets, which increases how far you can lunge with a melee attack and provides you with more melee and Super damage when surrounded by enemies. Hunters can pick up the Gemini Jester leg armor, which provides your dodge with some added perks: it disorients enemies and causes their radar to disappear temporarily. Warlocks can grab the Sanguine Alchemy chest armor; this buffs your Rift to provide you and allies with some enhancements. This includes being able to see your radar when aiming down sights and visual markers being placed on powerful enemies. You might already own this armor, but bear in mind that these are Year 2 versions that feature more perks than the versions from Year 1 you might have.Tractor Cannon (Exotic Shotgun) -- 29 Legendary ShardsSynthoceps (Exotic Titan gauntlets) -- 23 Legendary ShardsGemini Jester (Exotic Hunter leg armor) -- 23 Legendary ShardsSanguine Alchemy (Exotic Warlock chest armor) -- 23 Legendary ShardsAlongside these specific items for sale, Xur offers the Fated Engram. This is expensive, at 97 Legendary Shards, but it guarantees you a Year One Exotic you don't already own, so it's a good way to fill out your collection, provided you can afford it.Although this week didn't bring with it much in the way of new content, aside from the latest Ascendant Challenge, there is a lot coming soon. Tuesday, October 16, will see the release of the first of two big updates launching for the game this month. This patch will coincide with the debut of Festival of the Lost, Destiny 2's Halloween-themed event, as well as the next instance of Iron Banner. Unlike the first instance of the multiplayer activity after Forsaken's release, this one will have easier bounties, and each one will offer a piece of Powerful gear as a reward. For more on what's new in the world of Destiny, check out our guide to the latest weekly reset. Info from Gamespot.com

The Xbox One October update is rolling out today, offering a few new bells and whistles for the Microsoft console. The features in this update allow you to use more voice interactions, more easily watch HDR movies with streaming services, and personalize your Avatar. The Xbox Skill feature lets you interact with your Xbox using Alexa or Cortana devices, with a greater degree of precision than the previous Kinect voice commands. As an example, Microsoft says you can tell Alexa to "launch Forza Horizon 4" and in response the Xbox One will start up, sign you in, and launch the game, all without additional commands needed. Other commands include starting Mixer broadcasts, capturing screenshots, and adjusting the volume. You'll need to download the Xbox Skill in the respective stores to get started. To promote the new functionality, Amazon will be offering a bundle that includes an Amazon Echo Dot with new Xbox One S or Xbox One X purchases. That deal is coming soon, but supplies will be limited. The newly revised Avatars are available for all users today as well. These have a focus on inclusiveness, with a greater range of body types, more accessories, and the ability to dress in any kind of clothing you'd like. You'll see the new Avatars on your own profile, in the activity feed and Gamerscore leaderboard, and more. You can use a Photobooth to take a picture of your Avatar to use as your profile image. Plus, if you want to stick with your original Avatar, that option is available too.The update also adds Dolby Vision HDR streaming across supported televisions. For now it supports Netflix only, but Dolby Vision will expand to more apps in the coming months. You can enable it through the Settings menu. Finally the Narrator has added Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Swedish, Dutch, and Australian English.Info from Gamespot.com

Target, everyone's favorite bullseye-logoed retailer, is running a fine sale on video games, hardware, and accessories this week. And while there aren't a ton of discounted items, there do seem to be more than usual. Plus, some of the deals are better than what you'll find elsewhere, so let's take a look at what kind of savings are available on PS4 and Xbox One games. If you're in the market for a PlayStation 4 console this week, there's a good chance Target has the best deal for you. That's because you'll get a free 12-month membership to PlayStation Plus with purchase of the console. That's a great deal, seeing as a PS Plus membership normally costs $60 and gets you a stack of free digital games each month. It's also the best PS4 hardware deal we've seen in weeks at any retailer.Headsets are useful not only for gamers who want to yuck it up with their Fortnite teammates, but also for anyone who likes to play games or watch movies after their housemates have gone to bed. This week, you can get a Turtle Beach Stealth 600 wireless gaming headset for Xbox One on sale for $85. If you're more of a Sony person, you can grab the PS4 version for the same price as well.Assassin's Creed Odyssey has been getting favorable reviews ever since it launched. And although it's too new to be on sale, you'll get a free Figpin of Alexios if you buy it from Target (believe it or not, the pin itself normally sells for $12).Beyond those deals, Target also has a handful of games on sale this week, including the cross-country racing game The Crew 2 for $35, the classic-style RPG Dragon Quest XI for $50, and Madden NFL 19 for $40. Battlefield V is slated to release on November 20. To help drum up excitement from shooter fans, publisher Electronic Arts is giving away all four Battlefield 1 expansions in October. The first two are available for free between now and October 16. The prices of the other two will presumably drop to zero for the final two weeks of the month.Obviously you can't take advantage of the freebies without a copy of Battlefield 1, so we've looked at all the US retailers and found the best price for the game on each platform. Here are the best deals available at the time of this writing.Battlefield 1 for PS4 -- $10 ($5 with PS Plus)Battlefield 1 for Xbox One -- $16Battlefield 1 for PC -- $5The first free expansion is called They Shall Not Pass. It introduces the French army to the game and adds four maps that are set in--you guessed it--France. It also includes a new mode called Frontlines, two new Operations, six unlockable weapons, four melee weapons, a new Behemoth, and the Trench Raider elite class. The other freebie is the In the Name of the Tsar expansion, which brings the Russian army to the battlefield. Along with it comes six new maps, 11 new weapons, plus vehicles and more. Here's where you can get these expansions for free:Get They Shall Not Pass -- PS4 | Xbox One | PCGet In the Name of the Tsar -- PS4 | Xbox One | PCWhen you play Battlefield 1 in October, you'll find daily challenges that let you unlock things like weapon skins, Dog Tags, and Squad XP Boosts. Unlike most other retailers that sell video games, Amazon doesn't offer a regular weekly sale. Instead, it uses a more mysterious process for choosing which games to discount and when. So at any given time, you can usually find unadvertised sale prices on a selection of games, even if it's unclear when they'll go back to regular price. In any case, we've gone through the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC game discounts that are live now and highlighted some of the best ones below. For starters, if you're an Amazon Prime member and you pre-order Call of Duty: Black Pro 4 before it launches on October 12, you'll get a $10 reward certificate. Even without a traditional campaign, this year's installment is shaping up to be an interesting one, thanks in part to the new battle royale-like Blackout mode. For more information, check out everything we know about Black Ops 4.In other shooter news, you can grab Destiny 2: Forsaken Legendary Collection on sale for $40 right now. This package contains every piece of content Bungie has released for Destiny 2 to date, including the core game, both Year 1 expansions, and the huge new addition, Forsaken. That's a great deal on a whole lot of content. It's October, so a horror game might be what you're after. In that case, you should find Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition--on sale for $30--suitably terrifying. It locks you in a house with a deeply disturbing family that just can't seem to stay dead. The Gold Edition also includes all three DLC packs that will keep you playing long after you've seen the credits roll.Shadow of the Tomb Raider hasn't been out long, but it's already on sale for $45. For a relatively down-to-earth take on the action-RPG genre, you can pick up Kingdom Come: Deliverance for $30. It eschews the fantasy aspects of games like Skyrim in favor of a more historical take on medieval life (and warfare).PS4 owners can pick up the incredibly stylish RPG Persona 5 for just $30. If an action-RPG that focuses on big muscles and hack-and-slash gameplay is more your speed, you might want to try Dragon's Crown Pro for $20. Or perhaps a slower game is what you're after; in that case, try Harvest Moon: Light of Hope for $30 (also available on Switch).Destiny 2: Forsaken Legendary Collection -- $40 -- PS4 | Xbox One | PCDragon's Crown Pro -- $20 -- PS4Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition -- $30 -- PS4 | SwitchKingdom Come: Deliverance -- $30 -- PS4 | Xbox OnePersona 5 -- $30 -- PS4Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition -- $30 -- PS4 | Xbox OneShadow of the Tomb Raider -- $45 -- PS4 | Xbox OneSword Art Online: Fatal Bullet -- $24 -- PS4 | Xbox OneInfo from Gamespot.com

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's release is here, and you may be wondering if your PC can handle the lift. Activision has released its minimum and recommended specs through its official support site so you can check before dropping in on the action. The specs are almost identical to those of the Black Ops 4 beta, with a few notable differences that actually make it easier to handle. The full game allows for an Intel Core i3 instead of an i5 in the minimum specs, and an i5 instead of an i7 in the recommended specs. So overall, you actually need a slightly less beefy machine to handle the full game. And naturally, you need more hard drive space--80 GB instead of the 25 taken up by the beta.If you're playing on consoles, meanwhile, you'll need to download a sizable day-one patch before you can begin playing. You'll be able to jump into the new battle royale mode, Blackout, once the game is about 30% installed, but it'll be a longer wait before multiplayer and Zombies are ready to go. For more on the game, check out our buying guide for details on the different editions and their associated goodies, as well as our Black Ops 4 early review impressions. The long legal drama between Oculus and ZeniMax appears to be continuing, but id designer John Carmack--who was a central figure in the dispute--says his personal legal battles are over. In a tweet, Carmack said that he and ZeniMax have released all claims against each other. It's notable that Carmack draws a very careful distinction in his statement, though. He pointed out that his personal legal disputes have been satisfied, but said that an appeal for Oculus is still moving forward. That indicates that Oculus is still fighting against the award given to ZeniMax for copyright infringement--even after it had been slashed from $500 million to $250 million. My personal legal disputes are over -- Zenimax has fully satisfied their obligations to me from the purchase of Id Software, and we have released all claims against each other. (The appeal for Oculus still goes forward) — John Carmack (@ID_AA_Carmack) October 11, 2018ZeniMax alleged that Carmack had taken work developed while he was at id Software--owned by ZeniMax--and taken it to Oculus for the creation of the Oculus Rift. A $500 million settlement was awarded, which was later halved when a judge found that the infringement was too small to justify such a large reward. Oculus is now continuing its appeal, presumably to reduce the damages further or eliminate them altogether.Meanwhile, ZeniMax also filed suit last year against Samsung VR. In that suit, the company that Carmack had worked with another former ZeniMax employee, Matt Hooper, to develop a plan for mobile VR. According to the suit, Oculus then took that pitch to Samsung, which makes that company liable too. ZeniMax argues that Samsung must have been aware of the litigation with Oculus, but continued to develop Gear VR regardless of the legal risk.Info from Gamespot.com

Netflix's Witcher series is starting to come into focus as the preliminary details continue to be locked down. The latest news from the show is that actors have been cast to portray Ciri and Yennifer, two characters with important roles in the upcoming show's storyline. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the series' showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich revealed that Freya Allan (Into the Badlands) will play Ciri, while Anya Chalotra (Wanderlust) will take on the role of Yennifer. The two join a cast headed up by Henry Cavill (Mission Impossible: Fallout), who plays the witcher himself, Geralt of Rivia.Freya Allan (Ciri), left, and Anya Chalotra (Yennifer), right. Via Netflix. The character of Ciri is the Princess of Cintra, and she will play a key role in the plot of the show. Yennifer is a sorceress who acts as a mother figure to Ciri and is the main love interest for Geralt.Word of Ciri's casting has been a point of contention for Witcher fans. When a rumor began swirling that the show was seeking a woman of color to portray Ciri, the backlash on social media was so furious that Hissrich, the showrunner, ended up taking a break from Twitter. She tweeted, "It's time for a Twitter hiatus. The love here is amazing, and the hate is enlightening, like a real-life Trial of the Grasses, except I HAVE to read less and write more -- or we won't have a damn finale. Be back soon with more insight and more Roach. Be nice to each other, okay?"In the THR interview, Hissrich had this to say about the incident: "Truthfully, the controversy about Ciri, my own politics or the fact that I'm a woman, to me, just interacting with the fans has helped an enormous amount, because they see I'm on their side."The Witcher will run for eight episodes and is based on the fantasy novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski, which also serve as the basis for the popular video games of the same name. While the show was announced back in May, it's not expected to land on the streaming service until 2020.Info from Gamespot.com

With Halloween almost upon us, it's time for pumpkin-spiced everything and scary movies. And with Halloween, directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, The Sitter), hitting theatres on October 19, there's an opportunity to get some big screen scares too. But if Green's Halloween turns out to be a smashing success, Michael Myers could return for more outings.According to Entertainment Weekly, producer Jason Blum (Get Out, Blackkklansman)--the founder of Blumhouse Productions--told the publication he expects this new Halloween reboot can be franchised. "Yeah, for sure, for sure, 100 percent," Blum said when asked if he hopes to make more films in the Halloween universe. "Let me tell you, if we got six movies out of [Paranormal Activity]--they found new footage five times in a row!--I feel like we can figure out the next chapter. But we’ll see."Green's Halloween was first announced back in May 2016 by series creator John Carpenter, the director of the first entry in the slasher franchise in 1978. "Halloween needs to return to its traditions," Carpenter said in a statement. About a year later, Carpenter announced the talent that'll make the project "the scariest of them all." He recruited David Gordon Green to direct, and Danny McBride (The Disaster Artist, Alien: Covenant) and Jeff Fradley (Your Highness, Vice Principals) to write. In April 2018, actress Jamie Lee Curtis, who reprises her role from as Laurie Strode, began talking about the plot of the Halloween reboot. "There was the idea of, 'What do you call it?'' If I had had my druthers, I probably would've called it Halloween Retold. Because it's being retold," she said. "It's the original story in many, many, many ways. Just retold 40 years later with my granddaughter." She continued, saying that some of the footage she saw terrified her. "They went full-tilt boogeyman. And I've never said that in my life, and I will say full-tilt boogeyman for the rest of the year as I go around talking about this."In our review, we said that even though Halloween doesn't reinvent the horror genre or establish in new subgenres within the category, "What it does is take the best parts of all the films in the franchise, and deliver the ultimate companion piece to Carpenter’s 1978 masterpiece."Halloween is due out in theatres on October 19, 2018.Info from Gamespot.com
