It's difficult to define which exact genre Cellar Door Games' Full Metal Furies belongs to. On a cursory glance, the co-op game appears to be no more than a well-structured brawler, and you'd be forgiven if you completed its 15-hour campaign thinking that's all it is. However, if you dig a little deeper into the optional hidden content, there's another five to seven hours of complex, multi-layered riddles to find. There's a fascinating meta narrative interwoven into Full Metal Furies' puzzles, and journeying to its end makes for a satisfying cooperative experience. In Full Metal Furies, each player takes control of one of four adventurers. If played solo, the game puts you in control of two and you can switch between them at will. There's Triss, the leader whose penchant for sassily drinking tea often leads to hilarious spit-takes; Meg, the lazy, nearsighted sniper with a poor sense of direction; Erin, the brainy tinkerer who desperately wants to be cool; and Alex, the air-headed soldier who wholeheartedly believes bashing in the skulls of the arrogant men she and her friends run into should be both a first and last resort to solving all their problems.Collectively known as the Furies, the four girls are on a quest to cross the monster-infested wasteland that humanity once called its home in order to find and destroy god-like entities known as the Titans. The sons and daughters of the mad tyrant Cronus, each of the four Titans desires a better world, and their conflicting ideologies as to how to bring about that dream have led to a war that threatens to destroy all life. This seemingly straightforward battle between good and evil hides a surprising number of twists and turns. With every step forward, the Furies notice more signs that their efforts might be actually causing more problems than they're solving. But the team keeps pushing onwards, hoping that in the long run, their efforts will have a positive effect on the world. The narrative plays out in a series of sprite-based conversations, both during and in between combat missions. For the most part, these are tongue-in-cheek skits--some even throw in the occasional pun or reference to the fact that this is all a video game--but a few also focus on Triss' growth. Despite putting on airs, she struggles with the responsibilities of leadership and the morality of the Furies' quest. Unfortunately, her teammates don't receive the same treatment, and are fairly two-dimensional throughout the main campaign. In combat, each of the four ladies handle and attack in their own way. For example, Meg can use a grappling hook to maneuver out of danger and snipe opponents from afar, while Triss can defend her teammates and herself with a near indestructible shield and also clear out enemies by screaming at the top of her lungs. Each of the girls fulfills a unique role seen in many other team-based brawlers--with Triss as the tank, Alex as the fighter, Meg as the archer/sniper, and Erin as the summoner.Full Metal Furies supports couch co-op and online multiplayer. As of publishing this review, the Switch servers are fairly empty, but we did manage to test online play using two copies of the game and can confirm it works relatively smoothly. There were some brief stutters at the start of a few levels, but none of them negatively impacted gameplay. However, my game did completely crash at one point. It's unfortunate the servers are so empty as playing with an incomplete team puts you at an immediate disadvantage. So unless you recruit some friends for couch co-op, you're in for a fairly tough time. Even Erin and Meg are crucial, as Triss and Alex rely on their teammates' supportive attacks to give them both time to recharge their special abilities. Button-mashing with the two melee fighters can be an effective strategy early on, but it will only get your team so far. Mid- and late-game enemies and bosses require a certain degree of tactical assessment, and chaining together each character's abilities is the ideal path to success. For example, when confronted with a mob of jumping werewolves that are too quick for the slower fighters, your team might rely on Triss' area-of-effect shout to stun a few, use Alex's dive bomb jump to launch the weakened wolves into the air, and then have Meg shoot their leader out of the sky. All the while, Erin's portable turret and her mid-range pistol can finish off the members of the pack not caught up in the combo.Combat in Full Metal Furies is constantly evolving, with new enemy types appearing almost every third level. It keeps the game from descending into a grindfest of similar foes, while leaving room for you to experiment with new strategies on enemies you've encountered before. Sections of certain levels can get brutal, resulting in dozens of game over screens. But checkpoints are numerous, cutscenes you've seen are skippable, and it's typically very clear which careless mistake resulted in the failed mission. If anything, the game's combat seems content to really only punish those who play with less than four people, which presents an interesting way of making the game easier or more difficult for yourself at any point in the game. If things are still too hard with a full team of four, or you can't scrounge up a full team but don't want to make the game more difficult, there's an easier Story Mode too.Despite being labeled as a brawler, only about half of Full Metal Furies is regulated to combat. The other half is a series of interlacing puzzles and riddles, and it's here where the co-op nature of Full Metal Furies truly shines.None of the puzzles or riddles in Full Metal Furies are obvious to find, and the game doesn't teach you how to solve them either. It's completely dependent on the player to be curious enough to wonder if the symbol-covered stones hidden throughout about two dozen of the game's levels are more than meets the eye. Finding the stones themselves is a challenge, and once discovered, each stone's riddle is typically even tricker to figure out.Eventually, the main campaign reveals that solving these riddles is necessary for gaining access to the game's final area and true ending. The riddles grow more meta as you discover additional stones, some even requiring you to do things outside of the main game, such as watching a YouTube video for a clue or adjusting the game's accessibility settings to perceive colors and sound in a new way. Teaming up with friends to overcome a challenging boss fight is fun, but the most satisfying moments in Full Metal Furies are when you have a eureka moment and are able to figure out the next piece of the overarching mystery. Several of the solutions to certain puzzles and riddles rely on a particular Furies' unique skill as well--some answers even require multiple Furies or the full roster of four--so every player gets to enjoy being a part of the process of figuring something out at some point. Completing this game is very much a team effort, and it successfully makes sure no single player feels left out or useless. So yes, Full Metal Furies is primarily a brawler, and a good one that promotes teamwork instead of button-mashing. But it's also a very hard puzzle game, one that challenges you to perceive each level, as well as the game's mechanics and characters, in new ways. It's a shame most of the Furies are so two-dimensional throughout the main campaign--especially Meg, who's arguably the most lovable of the bunch--but the story is consistently witty with its humor and an absolute joy to watch unfold. And while coming up with strategies to handle new enemies and piecing together the clues for each puzzle is fairly difficult at times, it's a rewarding and deeply satisfying challenge.Info from Gamespot.com

It's November, so a whole new set of PC games is available for free to anyone with an Amazon Prime account. All you have to do is link your account to Twitch, and you'll get a new batch of PC games for free each month. The number of free games varies, but this month you can download four games at no additional cost. The biggest title on the list is Overcooked, a game that involves up to four players working together to prepare meals as orders come in. Each level takes place in a different kitchen, and as you progress the layouts become less and less hospitable for cooking. For instance, one level is set on a slippery iceberg and another on a busy street. Not to be confused with Overcooked is Overload, the next free game for November. It's an exploration-based first-person shooter that's set in zero gravity. Then there's AER: Memories of Old, an adventure game that takes place on a series of islands that are floating in the sky. Luckily, you can turn into a bird to travel between them. Rounding out this month's freebies is the 12th century point-and-click adventure game The Pillars of the Earth. You can claim all of these games here, but note you'll need the Twitch desktop app for Windows to download them. While you're on the site, make sure to grab any other free items for Prime members you might have missed, including cowboy gear for PUBG and a Golden Loot Box for Overwatch.Twitch Prime's Free Games For November 2018OvercookedOverloadAER: Memories of OldThe Pillars of the EarthInfo from Gamespot.com

Listen up, shooter fans. Bungie used Blizzcon 2018 as a platform to announce it's giving away Destiny 2 for free on PC between now and November 18. All you need is a Battle.net account to download the game. Once you do, it's yours to keep and play forever. Note that this is the vanilla version of Destiny 2, so it doesn't come with the numerous expansions that have arrived since the game launched last year. Even so, there's plenty to do in it.While it doesn't include Forsaken, the big Year 2 update Bungie launched in September, buying Forsaken gets you all Year 1 content as well. And if you want a taste of what comes in Forsaken, you'll be able to try out Gambit, one of Forsaken's major new modes, during a free trial that runs November 9-11. Gambit is a mode that combines PvE and PvP, so you can take down computer-controlled enemies or, at certain points, invade the opposing team's side and battle against them.Destiny 2 is a shared-world first-person shooter that's packed with PvE and PvP content you can take on to level up your character and amass a collection of armor and weapons. In our original PvE and PvP content, Kallie Plagge wrote, "In true Destiny fashion, if you do something once, you'll probably end up doing it many more times. The difference with Destiny 2 is in the variety and accessibility of what's available, which cuts down on a lot of the frustration associated with grinding." And if you're interested in the expansions, you can read our Destiny 2: Forsaken review as well.If you've been holding off on trying Destiny 2, you might as well give it a shot now. Just make sure to download it before it goes back up to full price on November 18.Info from Gamespot.com

While major change is afoot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it moves toward Phase 4, those eager for more from certain existing characters are in luck. Disney and Marvel have confirmed plans to create a show centered around Loki, with actor Tom Hiddleston set to return to the role.Unfortunately, there were few details shared beyond that basic premise. This confirmation came as part of a broader announcement about Disney+, which is now officially the name of the company's upcoming streaming service.Disney boss Bob Iger shared the news along with the latest earnings report. Disney+ will debut in the United States sometime in late 2019. It's unclear when the Loki show will debut, how many episodes it will consist of, or what the general plot will be. But, hey, it's more Loki with Tom Hiddleston, which seems like good-enough news for now.Word on a Loki show was first reported back in September by Variety, when it revealed there were plans for new series focused on MCU characters who had not starred in their own movies. (Scarlet Witch was another name mentioned.) Each show was reported to consist of 6-8 episodes and be made using a sizable budget. More recently, Variety reported that a new show was also on the way that would feature the Winter Soldier and Falcon. It remains to be seen what these shows ultimately look like, but it's clear Disney plans on leveraging its biggest brands to help Disney+ compete with Netflix. In addition to the Loki show, we'll also be seeing a live-action Star Wars series called The Mandalorian coming from Jon Favreau.Info from Gamespot.com

It's that time again where we slowly round up the latest deals and discounts for many of the year's most impressive games. Though Black Friday doesn't kick off until November 23, we've already seen some interesting details pop up, which include God of War. As one of the PS4's most impressive games of 2018, this reboot of the over-the-top and grand action-adventure series kicks off a surprising heartfelt new story. The Target ad for Black Friday 2018 led the way, confirming God of War will be on sale for $25. Since then, we've also gotten both Walmart and Best Buy ads, with both of those retailers offering the same discount. However, these sales won't be active until Black Friday, November 23. Still, it's good to stay up on the latest games now before the rush begins.Coming from Sony Santa Monica, the newest God of War game picks up many years after God of War III. Moving on from the setting of Ancient Greece, Kratos--the demi-god and son of Zeus--lives a life of solitude in a realm immersed in Norse mythology. As a single-player action-adventure game, it moved away slightly from the ultra-violence and schlocky style of the original games, telling a more personal story that dealt with fatherhood and coming to terms with your past--all while killing off monsters and other gods in gory fashion. In our review of God Of War, managing editor Peter Brown gave it a 9 and stated: "In many ways God of War is what the series has always been. It's a spectacular action game with epic set pieces, big-budget production values, and hard-hitting combat that grows more feverish and impressive as you progress. What may surprise you is how mature its storytelling has become. Like Kratos, God of War recalls the past while acknowledging the need to improve. Everything new it does is for the better, and everything it holds onto benefits as a result. Kratos is no longer a predictable brute. God of War is no longer an old-fashioned action series. With this reboot, it confidently walks a new path that will hopefully lead to more exciting adventures to come."If you want to see where you can find these deals for God of War, then check out our roundup below. Expect many more deals to pop up in the days approaching Black Friday. As a reminder, these deals aren't active yet, so stick with GameSpot to see when you can take advantage of them and if more deals from other retailers come up.God Of War$25 -- Best Buy$25 -- Target$25 -- WalmartInfo from Gamespot.com

Disney has also announced that the new streaming service will be called Disney+, and confirmed that they are making a new Marvel series centered on Loki. Disney+ launches in 2019.Production on The Mandalorian, the first live-action Star Wars show to be announced for Disney+, is currently underway. It is being overseen by Jungle Book director Jon Favreau, and while the cast is yet to be announced, the first image was released last month. Fortnite's 6.22 update has arrived, bringing a new weapon as well as two limited-time modes to the hit game. While the Fortnitemares event may now be over in Battle Royale, the Halloween spirit carries on in one of this week's LTMs, a brand-new mode dubbed Team Terror.Much like other team-based LTMs, Team Terror pits two teams of players (in this case, 32 vs. 32) against each other in a battle to be the last side standing. What sets it apart from previous modes, however, is the presence of Cube Monsters, the zombie-like creatures that first appeared during the aforementioned Fortnitemares event. These will spawn around the island as the match rolls on, adding a PvE element to the LTM.Destroying Cube Monsters will cause them to drop weapons or ammo, giving you an incentive to take down any you come across. Resource and loot drop rates have also been adjusted for the new LTM. The likelihood of floor loot spawning has been increased by 15%, and farming resources have been increased by 75%. You can find more details on Team Terror in Epic's patch notes. In addition to Team Terror, Epic has brought back a previous LTM this week: Blitz. This is a much faster-paced version of a standard battle royale game; the match begins with the storm already closing in on the island, and the time between storm circles is much shorter than normal, so each match will last about 15 minutes at most. Loot is also much more plentiful in Blitz mode, further speeding the action up.Beyond the new LTMs, the 6.22 update introduced a new gun to the game: the Heavy Assault Rifle. It's available in Rare, Epic, and Legendary variants and can be found as floor loot or in chests, vending machines, and supply drops. Epic has also reverted the Pumpkin Launcher back to the standard Rocket Launcher and reduced the spawn rate of the new balloons.Info from Gamespot.com

We're another week into Season 6 of Fortnite, which means a new set of challenges is now available to complete on your platform of choice, whether that be PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, or mobile. As usual, Week 6's challenges are broken up into two categories--Free and Battle Pass--and consist of some fairly straightforward tasks. However, there is one that may give you a bit of trouble if you don't know where to look, so we've put together this handy guide on finding the sheet music and pianos in Pleasant Park. One of the Hard-level challenges for Battle Pass owners in Week 6 is to find sheet music in Pleasant Park. This itself is simple enough; you'll see a stand with the sheet music in one of the houses in the area, and you'll need to collect it to unlock the next step of this four-stage challenge. Once you've found the sheet music, you'll need to play it on two giant piano keyboards scattered around the island. You won't need to travel very far to make it to the first piano; it can be found on the hill just to the west of Pleasant Park, fairly close to where the sheet music was located. Once you've made it to the piano, you'll need to jump on the keys in the right order to move on to the next step. Fortunately, you'll see a stand with the sheet music near the keyboard, so all you need to do is follow the order written on it to complete this step. However, you'll need to be alone in the area before you can play the music, as other players who also try to use the same piano will interrupt your progress.Once you've completed this step, you'll be tasked with collecting another piece of sheet music, this one located in a building in Retail Row. After you've found it, you'll need to head just east of the area to find the second piano. Just as before, play the keys in the right order and you'll complete the challenge. For a closer look at exactly where you need to go, you can watch us complete the challenge in the video at the top of this guide. With that done, you'll be one step closer to unlocking the new Season 6 cosmetics and rewards. The other challenges from Week 6 are all fairly straightforward. Most require you to either eliminate opponents with a particular weapon or place the new Chiller trap in different matches, all of which can be accomplished with a little persistence. You can see the full list of Week 6 challenges below. In terms of sheer numbers, deals on individual games represent the bulk of the gaming offers we see on Black Friday. Based on what we've seen so far this year, that will again be the case, but it doesn't mean you have no cheap options for picking up a console like PS4.While it's still early, the ads we've seen released to date do include some very nice PlayStation 4 offers. One of Target's best gaming deals is a doorbuster that gets you a 1TB PS4 Slim and a copy of Spider-Man for only $200. You'll find an identical sale at both Best Buy and Walmart, too.You could argue that would be a nice price for the system alone, but to get a $60 game that was just released in September makes it even sweeter. While this being available through at least stores is encouraging, if you're interested, you'll want to head to your local store (or to its website) as soon as possible on Black Friday. In some areas, stores will actually open on Thanksgiving Day, and Best Buy will have early access in the beginning of Thanksgiving week. You can check out the full Target ad or the store you plan on heading to for further details. We're sure to see more deals pop up for PS4, and we'll continue to update this post as they emerge. One pre-Black Friday offer is coming on November 10 at Sam's Club, where you can buy a system (without any bundled games) for $229. Unlike Target, however, Sam's requires you to have a membership. On the games side, we've already seen confirmed discounts for some of PS4's biggest games of the year, including God of War, NBA 2K19, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. We'll be hunting for deals all month long, so be sure to check back with us as more Black Friday ads are revealed, and check out our roundup of PS4 deals.Who Has The Cheapest PS4 On Black Friday?Best BuyPS4 with Spider-Man -- $200TargetPS4 with Spider-Man -- $200 [Doorbuster]WalmartPS4 with Spider-Man -- $200Info from Gamespot.com

Disney's new streaming service will come online in late 2019, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced on a Disney earnings call, CNET reported. Iger also confirmed the service, dubbed Disney+, will come with new live-action shows in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars franchises.Disney+ will be the streaming home for Disney's various existing films and TV shows, which means much of that stuff will stop being available on services such as Netflix starting in 2019. But Disney+ also see an influx of its own original content to tempt subscribers away from the services they already use. The most notable additions are a pair of live-action series Disney is planning for two of its biggest franchises, Star Wars and the MCU.On the MCU side, Disney is bringing back fan-favorite character Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, for his own show. The Star Wars series, meanwhile, will spin off from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, to tell more stories of Cassian Andor, the Rebel spy played by Diego Luna. Both series will see the film actors return to reprise their roles. The Cassian show joins another Star Wars spin-off project, The Mandalorian, created by Iron Man director Jon Favreau.Sweetening the deal for subscribers to Disney+ are animated series. The new season of the returning Star Wars: The Clone Wars will appear on the service, as well as a Pixar series based on Monsters, Inc. The service will also get a reboot of High School Musical and exclusive movies.Disney hasn't revealed what the streaming service will cost yet, or the exact date of its launch--or of the release of those new series. But for fans of Star Wars especially, it looks like keeping up with the franchise is going to require a new subscription starting toward the end of 2019.Info from Gamespot.com

Season 6 of Fortnite rolls on with a new set of challenges to complete on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile. Week 7's challenges are now live, giving you another chance to earn Battle Stars and unlock some more Season 6 rewards. That's not all; clearing every mission from a given week will also complete a Hunting Party challenge, which will reward you with a special loading screen that points to a free item hidden around the island. There are 10 Hunting Party challenges this season, and the loading screen you unlock depends on how many sets of weekly challenges you've completed. If you've kept up with all of them thus far, including Week 7's batch, then you'll receive the loading screen pictured below, which features a group of characters charging at the mysterious purple cube that has been the focal point of this season. What's notable about these loading screens is that each one contains a very subtle clue to the location of a free Battle Star or Banner hiding somewhere around the island. Sure enough, if you look closely at the right-hand edge of the screen, you'll see the silhouette of a Battle Star floating above a boat. The boat is located in Leaky Lake, just to the south of the island with the Stonehenge-like monument. Head to that area at the start of the match, and the Battle Star will appear when you approach the boat. Collect it to level your Battle Pass up by one tier, bringing you a step closer to unlocking all of this season's rewards. If you need help finding the Battle Star, we've marked down its location on the map below. You can also watch us collect it in the video above if you'd like to see exactly where it's hiding. However, be aware that the Battle Star won't appear unless you've completed the aforementioned Hunting Party challenge and unlocked the above loading screen; you won't simply be able to go to the right area and collect it if you haven't done all of the required steps. As usual, Week 7's challenges are divided up into two categories: those available for everyone, and those reserved for players who've purchased the Battle Pass. Most of the challenges are fairly straightforward; one asks you to search seven ammo boxes in a single match, while another tasks you with eliminating three opponents in Pleasant Park. The trickiest of the bunch is to skydive through floating rings. If you need help completing any previous challenges from this season, be sure to check out our comprehensive Fortnite Season 6 challenge roundup.
