April is almost here, and that means there is new content coming to streaming services like Hulu. The click-and-play online subscription service is primarily known for giving users the ability to watch TV series the day after it airs, but has since become a way to stream live TV as well as watch replays, movies, and whole TV seasons.Next month, Hulu is unloading plenty of movies, and the roster looks pretty great. On April 1, both Addams Family movies come to the service. The series follows a weird, gothic family living in the '90s that does what they want to do and says what they want to say. Also, it spawned an MC Hammer song and music video that has been stuck in my head for over 20 years.Additionally, Dragonslayer comes out that day. "What's Dragonslayer?" We discussed the movie last month, as it's the most mature movie ever released by Disney. This was during the time where the company was experimenting with more adult content during the late '70s and early '80s. The film follows a wizard apprentice who goes on a journey to take down a dragon who has been terrorizing the kingdom of Urland. If you're one who enjoys anime, there are a couple of fantastic selections you'll want to watch. On April 2, the second season of One-Punch Man hits--pun intended--Hulu. The series follows a hero who is incredibly powerful and grows bored finding a worthy opponent. One-Punch Man is on the lighter side of anime and pretty funny. If you're looking for something to crush your soul, then look no further than April 28 when part 2 of Season 3 of Attack on Titan comes to Hulu. The series features cities being attacked by giants who eat the inhabitants, including main characters. Don't get attached to anyone.Below, you'll find a full list of everything coming to and leaving Hulu for the month of April.Everything Coming To Hulu In AprilAvailable April 1Alone: Complete Season 5 (History Channel)Ancient Aliens: Complete Seasons 1, 2, 3, 13 (History Channel)Behind Bars: Rookie Year: Complete Season 1 (A&E)Born Behind Bars: Complete Season 1 (A&E)Cults and Extreme Belief: Complete Season 1 (A&E)Intervention: Complete Season 20 (A&E)Into The Dark: I’m Just F*cking With You: Episode 7 Premiere (Hulu Original)Little Women: LA: Complete Season 4 (Lifetime)Mountain Men: Complete Season 1 (History Channel)Raising Tourettes: Complete Season 1 (A&E)The Real Housewives of Potomac: Complete Season 3 (Bravo)1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992)The Addams Family (1991)Addams Family Values (1993)Akeelah and the Bee (2006)America’s Prince: The John F. Hello Games has announced its next big expansion for No Man's Sky. The "Beyond" update is slated for this summer and will be free to all players. It was accompanied by a brief trailer showing a hanger, the title, and not much more.A blog post introducing the update says that Hello Games had planned three large features, and ultimately decided to roll them all into one expansion. Though two of those are remaining under wraps for the time being, the first component the team is outlining is called No Man's Sky Online. The newly revised online component will allow players to meet up and play together more easily, but the studio cautions that it doesn't consider this a shift to an MMO. It will remain free for all players, won't contain microtransactions, and won't require a subscription (aside from Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus on consoles). As for the other pieces of Beyond, Hello says it will "talk more about each component when we know we can be precise."Last year, No Man's Sky had a large-scale update called Next that served as a major overhaul, and earned it a spot among our best expansions of 2018. Since then it's gotten a steady stream of content updates, like The Abyss that added more underwater exploration, and Visions with a host of new biomes, flora, and fauna. Beyond appears to be scaled similarly to Next. The game has come a long way from its initial release, which was criticized for not quite meeting its lofty ambitions. Part of that was simply not fulfilling some of the promotion surrounding the game, so the blog's comment about not opening up about pieces of Beyond yet seems as if Hello has learned how to manage expectations.Info from Gamespot.com

The specific running times of individual episodes is rarely discussed in the build-up to a new season of a TV show--but most shows aren't Game of Thrones. For more than a year there has been much speculation about how long each of the six episodes of the show's eighth and final season will be. HBO has now revealed these running times ahead of the season's April 14 premiere. The length of the first two episodes was confirmed last week, and both clocked in at just under an hour. However, as expected, the next four run much longer. All of them are around the 80 minute mark, which supports HBO boss Richard Plepler's description of the final season as like "watching a movie". The estimated runnings times are as follows:Episode 1: 54 mins (April 14)Episode 2: 58 mins (April 21)Episode 3: 82 mins (April 28)Episode 4: 78 mins (May 5)Episode 5: 80 mins (May 12)Episode 6: 80 mins (May 19)The full trailer for Game of Thrones Season 8 was released last week. It focuses on setting up the the epic battle against the Night King and his army of the dead at Winterfell--for more insight, check out GameSpot's trailer breakdown. Although Game of Thrones is nearing the end, there is a prequel spin-off on the way. X-Men: First Class' Jane Goldman will serve as showrunner and has developed the story with creator George RR Martin. The show is expected to start filming early this summer, and premiere in 2020 or 2021.Info from Gamespot.com

Have you burned through all of Amazon Prime Video's movies and TV shows? If so, tell me your secret. Anyway, April is right around the corner, and that means there will be tons of new content to binge. If you have Hulu, the list for April is out as well.On April 1, Amazon is dropping most of its offerings for the month. There are plenty of movies of note, including all three Blade movies, but you might want to skip Blade: Trinity. It's bad, but the first one still holds up. The Marvel character help kick off the new renaissance of superhero movies, and the movie features Wesley Snipes as a vampire hunter, doing what he does best.Speaking of vampires (what a transition!), also hitting the service on April Fool's Day is the Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt classic Interview With The Vampire. The movie is about a journalist, who interviews a vampire, who tells his story of life, love, and betrayal. If that's too much for you, then you could also watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze, which features wrestling superstar Kevin Nash as Super Shredder. There are a few Prime original series hitting the service that month as well. The most notable is Season 2 of The Tick, and the first season of which was a lot of fun. On April 5, the Tick and his partner Arthur continue their fight against crime, and it's just as silly as the original comic book series and Fox animated series.Below, you'll find the full list of everything coming to Amazon Prime Video fro the month of April.Coming To Amazon Prime Video In AprilApril 1Murder, She Wrote, Seasons 1-51492: Conquest of Paradise (1992)Addams Family Values (1993)An Invited Guest (1999)Beetlejuice (1988)Beverly Hills Cop II (1987)Blade (1998)Blade II (2002)Blade: Trinity (2004)Blown Away (1994)Case 39 (2009)Days of Thunder (1990)Diamonds Are Forever (1971)Die Another Day (2002)Dragonslayer (2011)Escape from L.A. Respawn surprise-launched Apex Legends, which quickly rocketed to higher player counts than many competitors in the battle royale genre. From the start, though, the studio acknowledged it was planning to produce regular seasons with an optional battle pass, and now that launch is about to arrive. The studio has released some details, and accidentally leaked others, giving us an altogether pretty clear idea of what to expect. And as of March 15, it even seems to be teasing one of its major additions--the new character Octane--in the game. What's Included? In Respawn's year-one roadmap for the battle passes, it stated that all four of this year's battle passes will include new weapons and loot like exclusive cosmetics, and at least one new Legend character. Each battle pass is said to include about 100 rewards. Several seasonal items will be unlockable through the course of regular play, while others will be exclusive to battle pass holders. Battle passes will also include random Apex Packs, giving you an assortment of random skins and other items to earn.PriceRespawn has not formally outlined its pricing plan for the Apex Legends battle pass. Its year-one roadmap was the most detail the studio has given on its assorted battle passes coming through 2019, and it didn't mention price anywhere in the announcement. However, an accidental update on the Origin storefront appeared to disclose the price. Respawn later acknowledged the mistake and called it an "unintentional update about Season 1." All that suggests that the leak was legitimate. If that's the case, the price will be 950 Apex Coins--or roughly $10.A Founder's Pack is currently offered for $30, which nets you 2000 Apex Coins--likely enough for the first two battle passes--along with other goodies: exclusive character and weapon skins, banner frames, and a Founder's badge.Release DateSo far, all we know regarding the release date for Apex Legends comes from the roadmap released by Respawn itself. The first battle pass is set to release in March, with others following in June, September, and December. When the Origin leak occurred, some fans suspected the release was imminent. But just as Respawn acknowledged that the leak was legitimate, it also stated that the battle pass was not releasing that day. For now, we still do not have an exact date for the first battle pass release.New CharacterThe leak also unveiled what appears to be the Season 1 character, Octane. We don't have official confirmation of his abilities, but one that was rumored is the ability to place jump pads. Sure enough, launch pads have begun appearing in-game that match that description. Based on coy responses from Respawn developers on Reddit, this sure seems like a deliberate tease for the addition of Octane. The Origin leak did give us a good look at the character itself. As with the pricing information, the Respawn acknowledgement that it was an unintentional update likely means Octane is legitimate. That said, datamining has revealed several other possible Legends, and these are much less certain. Respawn appeared to address these purported leaks in its statement as well."There's stuff in there that is very old, or things we've tried in the past and cut--remember our design process is to prototype and play lots of ideas--and some of it may be things we're still building for Apex Legends," said community manager Jay Frechette. "Finding this stuff by no means confirms that it'll ever come out. At best you should treat any posts about this as a rumor and the real info will come from us when we’re ready to show off what's coming next."Info from Gamespot.com

James Gunn has certainly been on a roller coaster of a ride with Disney and his role on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. First, he was fired after controversial tweets from his past surfaced. Then, Disney wouldn't hire him back despite an outcry, including from the stars of the films. Then, Gunn's script was going to be used despite his dismissal. And now, Gunn has been hired back to his former role on the movie.Shockingly, Disney has changed its tune about Gunn, according to Deadline. He will both write and direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which currently does not have a release date. Gunn has subsequently confirmed the news himself. On Twitter, Gunn announced his return to the movie by saying, "I am tremendously grateful to every person out there who has supported me over the past few months. I am always learning and will continue to work at being the best human being I can be. I deeply appreciate Disney's decision and I am excited to continue making films that investigate the ties of love that bind us all. I have been, and continue to be incredibly humbled by your love and support. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Love to you all."â¤ï¸ pic.twitter.com/gdMQjlqIjs — James Gunn (@JamesGunn) March 15, 2019Back in July 2018, Gunn was fired by Disney when controversial tweets, from many years prior, resurfaced where Gunn made joked about pedophilia and rape. Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn said, "The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James' Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio's values, and we have severed our business relationship with him."In the aftermath, many of the movie's stars had Gunn's back. Most vocal was Dave Bautista, although the entire cast penned a passionate letter in Gunn's defense. Meanwhile, Horn met with Gunn to discuss Gunn's role multiple times, and the chairman found he was persuaded by Gunn's public apology to reinstate him in the third movie.Gunn has kept himself busy in the meantime, producing the upcoming May horror film Brightburn. Additionally, he will be writing and directing DC's Suicide Squad sequel, set to come out in 2021, which Will Smith recently dropped out of. Idris Elba will replace him as Deadshot. This is big news for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as both Guardians of the Galaxy movies were massive hits. The first film brought in $773 million, while Vol. 2 raked in $863 million and helped expand the MCU by telling stories that took place in the cosmos. However, don't expect Vol. 3 any time soon. With Suicide Squad 2 expected to begin production later this year, we probably won't see Vol. 3 until 2022. Info from Gamespot.com

EA has announced the next update for Anthem is now live. This update patches Anthem's loot system--specifically buffing the drop rates for Masterwork and Legendary items. The full patch notes are listed on EA's website. The new update has taken immediate effect on the server-side of Anthem so you don't have to actually download anything. If you boot up Anthem right now, the update should have already taken effect. Because of the update, drop rates for all Masterwork and Legendary items have been increased on Grandmaster 2 and Grandmaster 3 difficulties. Across all difficulties, Masterwork and Legendary items now have a higher chance of dropping from Anthem's harder enemies--which includes Legendary and Epic Titans, Legendary Furies, Legendary Acid Ursixes, and Legendary Luminary Elders. This new update comes out after BioWare community manager Jesse Anderson put together a lengthy response to a Reddit post that expressed concerns with Anthem. "All I'll say on this is that Anthem is here to stay. Do we have a lot of work to do to fix parts of the game? Yes, and the team is committed to making improvements and releasing new content," Anderson wrote. Anthem did not have the smoothest launch--releasing to mediocre review scores. BioWare even implemented a patch that accidentally fixed a bug that players wanted to stay in the game. However, BioWare seems to be taking most of the criticism in stride, and has repeatedly released follow-up hotfixes and large scale patches for the game in response to community complaints--which Anderson also pointed out in his Reddit post."For feedback, we've made a large number of changes based on what players have told us. Not wanting to run to the Forge every time to launch an expedition? We added the ability to launch anywhere in Fort Tarsis, that was because of player feedback. Wanted to visually see loot drop from bosses in Strongholds? Added because of player feedback," Anderson wrote. "If you are talking about feedback on loot in general...I've already said that the team is discussing and that more will be likely be shared in the coming days. I know everyone wants to know when, but I don't have that answer." He continued, "Like Chad Robertson said in a tweet, we aren't happy with where loot is either, so know that it's high on our priority list."In our Anthem review, Kallie Plagge gave the game a 6/10, writing, "Anthem has good ideas, but it struggles significantly with the execution. It's a co-op game that works best with no one talking; it buries genuinely interesting character moments and puts its most incomprehensible story bits at the forefront; its combat is exciting until you get to the boss fights and find your wings have been clipped. Even the simple, exhilarating act of flying is frequently interrupted by the limitations of your javelin, and you never quite shake that feeling of disappointment--of knowing, throughout the good parts of Anthem, that you'll inevitably come crashing back down."Info from Gamespot.com

Epic has released a roadmap for 2019, which includes the new features scheduled to appear on the Epic Games Store. The full roadmap can be viewed on Trello, but Epic has issued the disclaimer that the new features listed and the times they're scheduled for are "subject to change."Exact timetables are not provided for each feature, with each one falling into a category of one-three months, four-six months, or long-term (more than six months). In the short-term, Epic isn't implementing too many major features. The company plans to redesign the Epic Games Store's website, and add search tools that utilize both genre and tags. The Epic Game Store will also start hosting video, provide an "optimized delta solution" to help developers reduce the size of game patches, support DLC add-ons, and streamline the sign-in process to allow players to "get into their offline games faster." The one major feature during this window of time is cloud saves support--a long-requested addition from the Epic Games Store community. You'll see a lot more community-requested features added in the mid- to long-term. In four-six months, Epic plans on adding user reviews, wish lists, additional payment methods/currencies, player time tracking, and mod support. The Epic Game Store is also scheduled to see improvements to its newsfeed and follow features, as well additional sorting and filtering methods for its game library. In the long-term, the Epic Game Store will support game achievements, direct carrier billing, and a shopping cart. Epic also plans on overhauling the store's social features as well.Epic has a few more improvements scheduled for its game store that don't have any planned date. These include more generalized PC game store features, such as automated refunds and gifting, and specific ones, like an Arabic translation for the store and support for games that released in Korea. Epic also plans to have the Epic Games Store be accessible on Android devices.Getting these features out the door is important for the survival of the Epic Games Store, as many of them already exist on its number one competitor, Steam. The Epic Games Store has managed to attract an audience by securing several major triple-A 2019 releases, such as Metro Exodus and The Division 2. However, PC gamers have come to expect many of the features listed above, and will probably gravitate back to Steam if all the Epic Games Store can deliver is a few good exclusives. The Epic Games Store also offers a free game every two weeks. Right now, you can download the indie game Slime Rancher, which is normally $20 USD on PC. Slime Rancher will be available until March 21, when it will be replaced by Oxenfree.Info from Gamespot.com

Sony has unveiled another new color joining the PlayStation 4 DualShock lineup. This time it's a color scheme evocative of a forest ski trip, titled Alpine Green. It sports an evergreen shade across the front, with a white backing and white buttons and sticks. The announcement states it will be available in the US and Canada in April for $65 US / $75 CAD. You can get a look at the new controller below or pre-order now.Last August Sony introduced four new colors at once: Berry Blue, Sunset Orange, Blue Camo, and Copper. Alpine Green is getting the celebrity treatment by comparison with the spotlight all to itself. Sony has been offering color variants for its DualShock controllers for quite a while, including some that are exclusive to special edition consoles. Microsoft similarly offers special edition controller colors, but also has a Design Lab feature to let you customize your own paint. If you're looking for something to play on your PS4 while you wait for your Alpine Green controller, you may want to peruse the Great Indoors sale. Out of nowhere, a new type of item--jump pads--have appeared in Apex Legends near Market. And these are not just any jump pads either; they're the ones the rumored new Legend Octane places as his Ultimate ability, suggesting that developer Respawn Entertainment could be teasing what's coming to the game soon. We've stumbled upon it ourselves (as you can see in the video above), and we aren't the only ones, as evidenced by posts on Reddit. Other players are reporting they've found Octane's jump pads as well. Respawn is just leaving coy-looking emoji comments in response, which implies this is a purposeful tease of what's to come, and not a mistaken leak on the developer's part.Prior to this, Octane has leaked a few times, which is why so many people believe he's the next scheduled character for Apex Legends. The first mention of the Legend was a leak that showcased the character's ability page. The leaked image stated Octane's Passive allowed him to heal over time while not in combat, his Tactical caused him to move 30 percent faster for six seconds at the cost of 10 percent of his health, and his Ultimate deployed a jump pad to launch Legends into the air. After that leak, another one--this time detailing the upcoming battle pass for Apex Legends--also showcased Octane, seemingly confirming he's the next playable character in the battle royale game. In this second leak, the Origin landing page had accidentally changed early, promoting the battle pass with a picture of the Borderlands-looking Legends. "Survive the the [sic] arena, meet the Apex Games' latest Legend, Octane, wield new weapons, and score unique loot. The Season 01 Battle Pass is here, purchase it at the in-game store for 950 Apex Coins," the launch page said. After these leaks--and a few other less credible ones--Respawn responded, clarifying the battle pass would not launch on March 12 like some data miners had suggested and that not everything on the internet should be taken at face value. "There's lots of stuff that has been datamined from Apex since launch and is swirling around the Internet," Respawn community manager Jay Frechett wrote. "We know this stuff is fun to dig up and speculate about, but you should not treat any of that info as a source of truth. There's stuff in there that is very old, or things we've tried in the past and cut--remember our design process is to prototype and play lots of ideas--and some of it may be things we’re still building for Apex Legends."There seems to be some semblance of truth to Octane at least. Respawn hasn't clarified whether his launch pads will stick around near Market or eventually be removed from the game when the Legend does officially release--which is due this month. Apex Legends is available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.Info from Gamespot.com

The Guardians of the Galaxy will, indeed, live to fight again with director James Gunn at the helm. Well, at least some of them probably will. Who knows what's going to happen in Avengers: Endgame? However, the news that Disney has rehired James Gunn to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after firing him last summer has been met with unabashed positivity by fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as Gunn himself. In his first tweet since he was fired in July 2018, Gunn shared a message on the heels of his being hired once again by Marvel Studios. "I am tremendously grateful to every person out there who has supported me over the past few months," he wrote. "I am always learning and will continue to work at being the best human being I can be. I deeply appreciate Disney's decision and I am excited to continue making films that investigate the ties of love that bind us all. I have been and continue to be incredibly humbled by your love and support. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Love to you all."â¤ï¸ pic.twitter.com/gdMQjlqIjs — James Gunn (@JamesGunn) March 15, 2019Gunn was first removed from the project after years-old tweets surfaced, in which he made jokes about rape and pedophilia. At the time, Gunn apologized and noted that he had apologized in the past. At the time, Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn explained the director's dismissal, saying, "The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James' Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio's values, and we have severed our business relationship with him."His return to the project--and the Marvel Cinematic Universe--was celebrated by Gunn's fellow MCU directors. Ant-Man and the Wasp director Peyton Reed tweeted, "Welcome back, James." Meanwhile, Doctor Strange helmer Scott Derrickson offered up a "GLORY HALLELUJA" to the news. Lastly, Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi joked, "What the hell?? I thought I was going to do it!!" Waititi has formerly been rumored as a replacement for film, though he previously confirmed that he had no intention of taking over out of respect to Gunn.Welcome back, James. pic.twitter.com/UeFv45LSM9 — Peyton Reed (@MrPeytonReed) March 15, 2019G L O R Y H A L L E L U J A https://t.co/Yex7f34DO2 — N O S ⋊ Ɔ I á´š á´š ÆŽ á—¡ ⊥ ⊥ O Ɔ S (@scottderrickson) March 15, 2019What the hell??
