If you're paying the $10 USD a month subscription fee to be a part of Game Pass, this month you gain access to Prey, Monster Hunter World, Resident Evil 5, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, Life is Strange 2: Episode 2, and The Golf Club 2. We've given several of those games fairly high review scores, and listed Monster Hunter World as one of our game of the year finalists for 2018.Prey and The Golf Club 2 arrive on Game Pass on April 11, Monster Hunter World and The Walking Dead: A New Frontier on April 18, Life is Strange 2: Episode 2 on April 24, and Resident Evil 5 on April 25. Apex Legends has a varied roster that bring their own unique set of skills to the intense battle royale. Though many of these heroes fall into the same archetypes you would expect from familiar online shooters, each character's abilities have a special twist to them that can open up some interesting strategies and dynamics within the squad. With every match yielding their own situational encounters and tense gunfights, you'll need to know the ins and out of your character to survive, while also knowing what to do should you cross paths with them on the field. In this quick guide, we're taking a look at the cunning, but somewhat insecure Mirage. His peculiar skill-set can create some bizarre encounters where you'll see double, allowing him and his squad the chance to get the upper hand. Though these skills seem basic at first glance, they can create some interesting opportunities for you and your squad, which can open the pathway to becoming a champion. The knowledge below will help steer you in the right direction, but with the introduction of a new weapon called Havoc, balancing is likely to change in the near future. Speaking of changes though, the game recently got updated with a new patch. For more breakdowns of different characters, and along with our full review and other guides focusing on some of the best weapons in the game, check out our further Apex Legends coverage on GameSpot.Other Character GuidesCaustic Guide: Tips On How To Be The Best Toxic TrapperGibraltar Guide: Tips On Playing As The Shielded FortressLifeline Guide: Tips On How To Be The Best Combat MedicPathfinder Guide: Tips On How To Be The Best Forward ScoutWraith Guide: Tips On How To Be A Dangerous BamboozlerBangalore Guide: Tips On Getting Kills As The Professional SoldierBloodhound Guide: Tips On Hunting Prey As The Technological TrackerGeneral OverviewKnown as the Holographic Trickster, Mirage is one of the two unlockable characters in Apex Legends, the other being Caustic. He brings with him advanced holographic technology that can create false-duplicates for tactical purposes. On the surface, many of his skills appear a bit too situational and unorthodox, however, in keeping with the gameplay loop of a battle royale game, Mirage is the type of character that knows how to mess with his enemy's focus--which can mean all the difference in an intense fight. With his slate of holographic skills, Mirage can disorient enemies and create additional pressure during fights. His primary tactical skill, known as Psyche Out, allows Mirage to create a holographic clone that runs ahead of him. At first glance, this double is indistinguishable from the real thing, which can cause other players to open fire. Mirage's decoy also display intelligence as well, and they act different depending on where they're deployed to. For instance, using one near a supply box will have the decoy perform an animation where they try to open it. Though many of these skills require certain circumstances to truly be effective, they are at their best when used in situations where you're uncertain of what lies ahead, or when you need to help your squad out by drawing fire away from enemies. However, it may take some time getting used to his abilities. With this in mind, here's a quick breakdown on how to his skills effectively.Mirage's AbilitiesPassive Skill: EncoreIf all else fails and you get got, Mirage's passive skill Encore will kick in. Once you get knocked down, you'll instantly turn invisible and a decoy will drop in your place, who performs an overly dramatic death animation. This will buy you some time to crawl away to safety. However, the skill won't last long. If you're still out in the open and an enemy is nearby, then you're a prime target to get gunned down.Tactical Skill: Psyche OutMirage's tactical ability Psyche Out allows you to send out a holographic decoy to confuse the enemy. It's a skill that has a surprising number of uses. In addition to drawing enemy fire in certain hot spots, allowing you to flank or get a bead on where a foe is hiding out, it's also a great skill to use for playing mind games. For instance, during the initial jump, you can send out decoys to landing spots, confusing enemy players into the thinking they're more active than they actually are.Ultimate Skill: Vanishing ActThe Ultimate ability Vanishing Act is essentially a combination of Mirage's Passive and Tactical skills. When activated, Mirage will turn invisible and let a team of holograms distract the enemy for him. The skill is a great way to confuse enemies, who will likely lose track of which Mirage is the real one. This can be especially handy during tough fights in crowded spaces. Some of the best uses of Vanishing Act come when used to bail on fights that your squad is outmatched for or when you need to get the jump on enemies during a fight. However, there is a certain clue that can help enemy players keep track of the real Mirage. When you turn invisible, you'll leave a silhouette and can take damage. If the enemy can stay focused on any sudden movement, then they can still hit you with their shots.Tips To PlayMirage's greatest strength in battle is his ability to disorient enemies and shake up a fight. With his holographic skills, he can easily disrupt a fight by using his holograms, which also gives him and his squad some time to breathe. Right at the beginning of the match, once you and your squad make the jump, he can pull off some interesting tricks on other teams. While dropping from the ship, Mirage can send out up to two different holograms on the field. This can cause other teams to panic while in mid-flight, changing their course in order to avoid any possible fights when they're on the ground.Once you make it to the ground, Mirage is best used when keeping his skills close to the vest. Unlike other support characters, his abilities aren't handy with only his squad around. However, once things start to go down, when you inevitably cross paths with an enemy team, this is where Mirage can shine. If you get the sense that an enemy team is nearby, you can send out hologram to act as a probe, provoking any gunfire from enemies. While in the moment, it's difficult to tell what's the real Mirage or a hologram, and they'll likely open fire on-sight.Just like every other character, Mirage can carry his weight in a fight with any weapon he can get his hands on. However, given his trickster oriented skill-set, you may be better off using weapons that focus on long-range, such as the Longbow or Triple Take sniper-rifles. Once you toss out a decoy, you'll likely see enemies fire at the hologram, which will either give you a clue as to where they are--or if you're lucky--an opening if they decide to come run out to investigate.Mirage has a pretty peculiar skill-set, but in the hands of a patient, and decisive player, he can be an effective squadmate to have. Even before touching the battlefield, he can cause panic amongst the enemy teams, which can make for an impressive start for matches.Info from Gamespot.com

Apex Legends developer Respawn is aware of the interest among fans in a Nintendo Switch version of the battle royale game, but it might not happen--or it might. Respawn isn't ready to say just yet. Project lead Drew McCoy told Wired that the studio is working on "a lot of things" right now, but there is nothing to announce yet about a Switch edition."If Switch was coming, we would tell you, and we would blast it across the world. We are hearing all the Switch players who say they want the game," he said. "I can't make any promises right now. We have a lot of things that we're working on, so stay tuned for anything in the future. But currently we don't have anything to announce."McCoy's wording is interesting. He never outright says it won't happen, or even that there are no plans. He's saying that Respawn has nothing to announce right now. This is very far from a confirmation that Apex Legends is coming to Switch, however.Apex Legends is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.Switch players aren't without any battle royale games, of course, as Epic's Fortnite is available on the console. Tetris 99 is also on Switch, while Crazy Justice has been announced for Switch. In addition to ongoing support for Apex Legends, Respawn is just about to reveal its Star Wars game, Jedi Fallen Order, this weekend at Star Wars Celebration. The studio is also working on a new Titanfall experience to launch this year, while the team has an Oculus Rift game also in development.Would you like to see Apex Legends come to Switch? Confirming earlier reports and leaks, Microsoft has officially announced an all-digital Xbox One console that has no disc drive. The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, as it's called, launches on May 7 and it's priced at $250 USD.According to Xbox executive Jeff Gattis, the consumer demand for digital content is "stronger today than ever before," and the new, all-digital Xbox One is a response to that."Gaming and technology have changed quite a bit since the first Xbox debuted in 2001. During this time, we've seen a digital transformation across gaming, music, TV, and movies," Gattis said. "The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition was created for those who prefer to find and play their games digitally and are looking for the most affordable way to play Xbox games."The All-Digital Edition comes with Minecraft, Forza Horizon 3, and Sea of Thieves, all of which are developed or published by Microsoft. They're meant to showcase titles that are more family-friendly. Additionally, the console comes with a "special offer" for Xbox Game Pass, which is Microsoft's all-you-can-play Xbox game subscription service. The box for the Xbox One S All Digital Edition. The lack of a disc drive means the console doesn't support DVDs or Blu-ray discs, but Microsoft says people can still experience 4K content through Netflix, Amazon, and other destinations. The form factor is the same, and the all-digital Xbox One has the same functionality as the standard Xbox One S. It just cannot play game discs or disc-based media."It shares the same dimensions as an Xbox One S to help maintain the most affordable price point in the Xbox One family of devices, especially since changes that affect the form of a console can be complex and costly," Gattis says.In terms of specs, the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition is in-line with the Xbox One S, which means that while it cannot handle native 4K resolutions for games like the Xbox One X, it is capable of displaying games with HDR support. Take a look at the specs below:1TB HDD8-core Custom Jaguar CPU @ 1.75GHzCustom GPU @ 914 MHz12 CUs1.4 TFLOPS8 GB DDR3 @ 68 GB/s32 MB ESRAM @ 218 GB/sRegarding the $250 USD price point, Microsoft pointed out that it's $50 USD less than the standard Xbox One S. That is true, but that console is almost always on sale. For example, Best Buy has the 1 TB Xbox One S with a copy of The Division 2 for $250 USD right now. Some were expecting the all-digital Xbox One to start at $200.Whatever the case, Microsoft said it expects to maintain at least a $50 price difference between the all-digital Xbox One S and standard Xbox One S going forward. There is no word yet on if Microsoft will ever offer an all-digital Xbox One X. "The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition is designed to make console gaming more accessible to more people, especially for new customers that don't already own a console and want access to the complete Xbox experience without investing in one of our other options, Xbox One X or Xbox One S," Gattis says. The all-digital Xbox One S is a big deal. It is believed that Microsoft considered launching the Xbox One without a disc drive back in 2013, but that never happened. The new model is Microsoft's first gaming console without a disc drive, and one of the first across the entire industry to lack one. Sony launched the all-digital PSP Go in 2009 but discontinued it just two years later.Importantly, the all-digital Xbox One S is just one console in the Xbox One family of devices. Due to internet availability and speed, this console won't be feasible for some people. Microsoft will keep making Xbox One consoles with disc drives, and the company is rumored to announce its next-generation systems at E3 in June."The benefits of the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition is that it offers value and choice to customers that prefer the conveniences of an all-digital library," Gattis says. "Given this is the first product of its kind, it will teach us things we don't already know about customer preferences around digital and will allow us to refine those experiences in the future. We see this as a step forward in extending our offerings beyond the core console gamer and continuing our journey to reach more than 2 billion gamers worldwide."Part of the appeal of having a disc, apart from the way it feels to physically hold and own something, is that it has some amount of trade-in value. In an all-digital future, trade-ins do not exist. The retailer GameStop, for example, historically has relied on pre-owned sales to drive its business, so it'll be interesting to see how that store responds.Gattis says retailers like GameStop and others "play a critical role" in the overall gaming ecosystem. "We work closely with retailers to ensure that our products are mutually beneficial for our business and theirs and in general, retailer reception to the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition has been positive so we're pleased to be able to provide a variety of choice to meet our customers' needs, whether they're looking to purchase this new all-digital console or digital content cards at a physical retail store," Gattis says. Are you interested in this disc-free Xbox One S? Microsoft has been acquiring studios left and right recently, but so far we haven't seen the output from any of the new developers. The company has promised that will change very soon, as Xbox head Phil Spencer says that the Microsoft E3 presentation will showcase the projects coming from the new studios--in their various stages of completion."Our new studios are going to have things to show, which is going to be awesome--some new things that nobody has seen before, which will be fun," Spencer said during an Inside Xbox presentation. "I think it's going to be really interesting to just have those teams showing up this year and starting to show what they’re building for us."Spencer also hinted that Obsidian might use the Xbox stage to show more of The Outer Worlds. The sci-fi RPG isn't exclusive to Xbox, since it's being published under Private Division, but the studio could take the opportunity to showcase it regardless. Still, Spencer said it will take a while to see all of these studio acquisitions come to fruition."It's been nice as you’re starting to work with these studios, they come in, I think how big of a deal E3 is for a platform and I can see them getting excited about it," he said. "It'll take years to have them fully integrated in the way all the teams do, because different teams are at different parts of the development cycle."At E3 2018, Microsoft announced a round of acquisitions, and has steadily kept announcing more since then. The company has also been teasing a big year with new technologies, and boldly proclaimed it would be "going big" at E3 while competitor Sony backed out. Elsewhere in the same Inside Xbox broadcast, it announced a digital-only Xbox One model, and a subscription bundle that combines Xbox Game Pass and Gold services.Info from Gamespot.com
