From Software wasn't always the renowned developer it is today, but by and large it still produced interesting, worthwhile games in the early PlayStation and Xbox days. The studio's rich history is absolutely worth exploring, and once you start down that rabbit hole, 2004's Metal Wolf Chaos is sure to catch your eye. A game starring the fictional President of the United States is an intriguing setup. The fact that he pilots a mech stuffed to the gills with an arsenal of giant weapons is a near-irresistible premise. Metal Wolf Chaos is one big schlocky joke at the US' expense delivered in the form of an action game, and because there aren't many nations or cultures that are fit to be mocked with such gusto, it feels like a rare opportunity that warrants investigation.Perhaps for obvious reasons, Metal Wolf Chaos never completed its planned journey westward back when Bush was in office and the US-led wars in Iraq and Afghanistan put us on more international shitlists than usual. Fifteen years later, amid very different (though arguably worse) political and cultural climates, From Software's tongue-in-cheek parody of US stereotypes is finally open to widespread interpretation. There are aspects of its bombastic campaign that coincidentally bring to mind the worst of our current predicament, but the Metal Wolf President Michael Wilson, his secretary Jody, and the main villain, Vice President Richard Hawk, never let you forget that this is first and foremost a series of surface-level jokes played up with B-grade voice acting."Jody: Mr. President, I haven't been this happy since...Since that supermarket going-out-of-business sale, when I was searching for my favorite candy and...I found the last bar all covered in dust at the back of the rack! And the expiration date was still good!Michael Wilson: I know the feeling, Jody."Once you dive into missions, any goodwill earned by these ludicrous exchanges--in the face of a coup d'etat--eventually fades. The Metal Wolf mech is a bullet-belching powerhouse that carries four weapons on each side (from a wide range of pistols, bazookas, flamethrowers, you name it), and cycling through its arsenal quickly becomes second nature as you need to contend with limited ammo and a small variety of enemy types. Wreaking havok and causing massive explosions is gratifying for a while, and the only argument for actually playing the game versus watching a recap of the cutscenes online.Otherwise, the missions you face are largely rote and devoid of merit. Optional tasks like rescuing hostages--by destroying cages with small-arms fire--and poking around levels for unlockable weapons aren't much of a draw either. Perhaps they would be for a completionist looking for an excuse to get more out of the experience, but the net gain from these activities never makes them feel essential or worth deviating from your path of destruction. The variety of locales and scenery is appreciated and does help renew some curiosity, but the look of a stage only takes you so far, and a new map layout doesn't mean a whole lot without clever moments to make it shine. Some stages try harder than others, but seemingly without the intended results. Heading into the mission based in Arizona puts you in the middle of a dense Old West town with streets just big enough for some happy-go-lucky mech action. It's also one of the few missions that puts you toe-to-toe with another mech--three at once, in this case. Doing battle in the confined corridors is more interesting than fighting out in the open (as experienced in other missions), but it also means that you can find ways to trick the shallow AI into getting stuck on the corner of a building. It's easy pickings at that point as you fire away on your hapless foes. It's neither challenging nor enjoyable, perfectly illustrating the fact that gunplay and explosions alone can't resolve Metal Wolf Chaos' consistently mediocre designs.A lot of time has passed since the original release, and there's reason to expect that certain aspects could have been ironed out in preparation for Metal Wolf's formal reintroduction. That's not to say the entire game should have been reconsidered, but there's definitely room for less-intense changes that could make a major impact, such as adding mid-level checkpoints. Simple as they are, Metal Wolf's levels can be very long and drawn-out, coming close to the 15-minute mark in many cases. So often there are either surprise difficulty spikes or threats of instant death, and if you fail to survive because of a momentary lapse of judgment, you will have to play the entire level from the beginning. Fall off a dock mere meters from the shore? You're dead. Accidentally cause collateral damage at the wrong time? You're back at square one. When death can come in a flash, to have to go back to the beginning of a long level that's achingly routine feels like a great excuse to put the controller down and walk away.Metal Wolf Chaos is an old game with a wild reputation, and though it lives up to it in some ways, it's not good in general. At best, it's a curio that helps inform the story of From Software's trajectory over the years. At worst, it's a frustratingly shallow experience that fails to capitalize on it's best qualities. The From Software of yore deserves applause for punching up so confidently, and in style, to a degree, but Metal Wolf Chaos doesn't live up to the hype that's been building for well over a decade.Info from Gamespot.com

It's a tale as old as time: The maniacs have blown it all up, and the few unlucky survivors are forced to pick up the pieces and begin civilization anew. Double Fine's Rad, however, takes it one step further. A second apocalypse has happened, and according to the omnipresent narrator, the survivors' one-word reaction is actually the correct and logical one: “Seriously?”From the second pile of ashes, however, a new hero arises. You, the Remade, a blunt weapon-wielding child of the endtimes who has been tasked by the Menders--the new architects of the age--with going forth into the treacherous radioactive hellscape armed with nothing more than a baseball bat and a host of ungodly but powerful bodily mutations to find a new source of power for humankind. On paper, that sounds dreadfully serious. In practice, however, it's Double Fine, a developer that seems physically incapable of making a game that's a downer. The Menders give the Remade their powers using a magical keytar, for crying out loud. Indeed, right off the bat, the most striking and engaging thing about Rad is the look of the apocalypse. Earth is most certainly ruined, nuclear-blasted several times over, but it's reached a point of being overgrown with luminescent plants, snaking, sentient vines, and neon shocks of pinks, greens, and purples. This is less the dead worlds of Fallout or Rage and more like a bizarre Saturday morning cartoon of Alex Garland's Annihilation.Rad, however, is a double entendre of a title for the game referring not just to the irradiated nuclear landscape, but to the overwhelming 1980s nostalgia. The booming narrator could be ripped out of any number of classic action movies. The hub world where the last humans make their home is an oddball microcosm of early '80s bric-a-brac, right down to the humorous, smart-alecky characters all bearing the names of famous characters from '80s movies (Biff, Lorraine, Sloan, etc.). The soundtrack is full of incredibly catchy off-brand riffs on famous tunes like Van Halen's Jump, Michael Jackson's Beat It, and Stan Bush's The Touch. You can push the '80s vibe even further with some of the CRT filters in options, but It makes an already busy aesthetic look nearly indiscernible. And best you believe, you need all the advantages and awareness you can get. As cool and fun and inviting as Rad appears on the surface, it becomes clear very early on that Rad is, above all else, aggravatingly hard. It's a roguelike, so the levels are all randomly laid out, but it's otherwise a deceptively simple old-school, top-down action game. When you first make your way into the wasteland, you can jump, hit stuff with a bat, and dodge. There are some unique tricks you can employ that can help, like a jump kick, an aerial smash attack, and a distance-closing lunge, but the game doesn't tell you about any of this at the outset. There's no real tutorial or in-game hint system. Instead it just drops occasional new tips during its extensive loading screens. It was hours into my playthrough before the tip came up informing me about the lunge attack, and it felt like hours prior had been wasted not knowing it was there.A mild learning curve would be fine if the wastelands weren't so unforgiving, but despite a wide variety of enemies, with fairly predictable attack patterns, you're just far too fragile for far too long in this game. When things kick off, you get three hearts. Enemy hits strip away half a heart generally, and once they're gone, you're starting over. There are power-ups you get after every boss that grant extra hearts and/or split one of your hearts into thirds instead of a half, but you'll be surprised how little a difference that makes. If there's more than one enemy onscreen at any given moment, cheap hits are a constant danger, and no matter how well you're doing on your run, walking into the wrong area and into the wrong group of enemies all striking at the wrong time means it could be game over in seconds. In the instances where it's not, health is such a frustratingly rare commodity that even taking extra care from then on means possibly going for quite some time with only half a heart, bleeding to death all over the cracked pavement. Yes, that's a staple of the genre at this point, but in the best examples of it there's a level of preparation you're able to have where you at least feel like you have a fighting chance. That doesn't happen often in Rad.What you do get is this: Every enemy you kill generates a certain amount of radiation that you can soak up, essentially acting as XP. Once you've leveled up, your body gains a random new freaky mutant power. This is Rad's biggest hook. The powers themselves are wildly imaginative and wonderfully animated. You could wind up with something as simple as a set of bat wings, allowing you to essentially gain a double jump and glide ability, or being able to throw your arm like a boomerang. Or you could end up with something just bonkers, like having a deformed twin grow out of your weapon arm to extend your range and attack power or the ability to give birth to two spider-baby versions of you who'll run into combat and attack enemies. When you go back to the hub world with them, the NPCs' reactions are some of the most hilarious dialogue in the game. As conceptually imaginative as those powers are, some are vastly more useful than others, and given how swift death comes for you in this game, getting a lame one at the outset basically means your entire run is doomed. That's generally the case for just about everything meant to help you in Rad: A bit too much of your success is dependent on sheer luck more than skill. You can collect cassette tapes--the game's currency--and either deposit them at the bank between stages or spend them on items with some of the scattered merchants around, but not knowing what new creatures to expect in an area or what attacks the boss will throw at you means running the risk of spending money on a powerup that's essentially worthless during your current run. There are on-the-fly powerups called exo-mutations you can find in some of the underground areas of the game, and while they're generally helpful at first, you can wind up drawing a handicap like extra vulnerability to attacks or a distorted screen, and that, too, can spell the end of a good run faster than it should. The good news is that the longer you play, the better your chances of finally earning permanent upgrades that make the early stages more of a breeze. There's a completely separate pool of permanent XP that you earn after you die that unlocks new characters, game variants, and upgrades. You earn the ability to buy items on credit after you've deposited enough tapes into the bank, and the local shopkeep gets better and better stuff the more you buy. There are just so many blind, stupid, aggravating deaths to be had to get to that point, though, and it's not hard to imagine throwing in the towel long before then. There are certainly things that make fighting the good fight worth it. The story does take some subtle twists and turns as the largely teenage population of the hub world starts wondering about the point of all these legends. The boss fights get increasingly audacious in design as you go along. I'm still discovering new mutations even on the first upgrade after playing for hours. And despite an element of visual clutter, this is a compellingly colorful world to hang out in for a while. It's just that the joys of Rad require more work than necessary to obtain, and that work can feel awfully thankless at times. Double Fine's hyper-colorful take on an '80s synthpop apocalypse makes for some gratifying nostalgia at the best of times, but there's a reason why, eventually, we all moved on to grunge.Info from Gamespot.com

When it comes to adaptations of video games, president of Sega Europe Gary Dale believes that the studio should be allowed to create movies without a lot of intervention from the game publisher.Speaking to gamesindustry.biz during E3, Dale spoke about the upcoming movie based on Sega's famous blue blur, saying that the film is a collaborative process, and that making the best version of the film possible means acknowledging that each team involved has unique skills. "Obviously we have a very deep knowledge of the character and the brand. [Paramount] has a very deep knowledge of how to make movies. The trick is just to bring those two skillsets together to make the best film we can."Back in May, the Sonic the Hedgehog movie was delayed until February 2020 to give the filmmakers more time to work on Sonic's design, which was met with ridicule when the first trailer debuted. Dale spoke to this too, asserting his trust in Paramount. "To be fair, Paramount has been open to listening to feedback from the community around Sonic, which of course has got such a tremendously loyal fanbase with people with very specific views of who Sonic is, how Sonic should behave, how Sonic should look."Dale stated that trying to control Paramount, and to try and assert their own vision too much, "would be the wrong approach", even if Paramount needs to "take into account (their) views on Sonic" to craft the ideal Sonic movie. "I look at the success of game franchises in film and it's very mixed," he says. "The idea that games makers can control the process and create great movies... I don't know if that's true or not."It's been a decent year for video game adaptations on the big screen, with Detective Pikachu earning solid reviews and lots of money, while this week's The Angry Birds Movie 2 is currently reviewing better than any previous game based on a movie.Info from Gamespot.com

The Crown season 3 will come to Netflix on November 17, the streaming site has announced. It'll introduce a new cast to reflect the advancing ages of the characters, as season 3 will cover a period from 1963 (where the previous season ended) to 1977. This first teaser trailer gives us the briefest of brief looks at Olivia Colman in the role of Queen Elizabeth II, taking over for Claire Foy, who played the character through her younger years in the first two seasons, and who won an Emmy for the role last year. The show, which has already been confirmed for a fourth season, is exclusive to Netflix.Olivia Colman is no stranger to playing a queen - she won the Best Actress Oscar earlier this year for her performance as Queen Anne in Yorgos Lanthimos' The Favourite. She'll star alongside Tobias Menzies (Prince Philip), Helena Bonham Carter (Princess Margaret), Ben Daniels (Lord Snowdon), Josh O'Connor (Prince Charles) and Emma Corrin (Lady Diana Spencer). However, not all of these characters will necessarily be prominent, or possibly appear at all, in the third season - the third and fourth seasons of the show were filmed back-to-back, and Charles and Diana did not meet each other until 1977.Expect a longer trailer at some point before the season's November release.Info from Gamespot.com

The Dota 2 International is happening next week, bringing together the best Dota 2 players to share in an enormous prize pool - the biggest that any esport tournament has ever offered. The International has been held every year since 2011, and started with a prize pool of just $1.6 million. Now, with ten days of fundraising still remaining, The International 2019 has raised $33,009,045 for its prize pool, averaging $317,263 every day. The event, hosted by Valve, brings together the world's best Dota 2 players, and this year the competition is happening in Shanghai at the Mercedes-Benz arena. 25% of proceeds from the sale of Dota 2 battle passes is currently being put towards the pool, adding up to an enormous total. The International runs from August 20 to 25, and can be watched through either Twitch or SteamTV. Last year's winner was the European team OG, which took home $11,234,158. As it currently stands, the winner of the 2019 International will take home $15,019,115, but that number is likely to rise as more money comes in.The International also broke a record last year for having the most money up for grabs, which was then overtaken by the Fortnite World Cup just last month. The 2019 International has overtaken Fortnite's $30 million pool, though, to once again present the largest sum ever for an esports tournament. Whatever the end figure ends up being, it's going to be enormous.Info from Gamespot.com

Update 2.0 for No Man's Sky has arrived for free on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Simply titled Beyond, the latest major update for the ambitious space explorer marks the three-year anniversary of its initial release by adding a veritable bucketload of new features and improvements, from massively expanding the multiplayer experience, to adding fully-fledged VR support. Read on for a look at what's new and the full patch notes. If you haven't taken the plunge with No Man's Sky yet, now might be the best time to do so. The early game has been streamlined and revised to better teach new players its multitude of disparate mechanics, while a new catalogue has been introduced that automatically adds substances, crafting products, and new technologies to its pages when first encountered. A useful rework of the Pinning system also allows you to get detailed step-by-step instructions on how to find and build any item in the aforementioned catalogue. Meanwhile, new story content has been added in order to weave together the three main narrative pathways that encompass No Man's Sky's story.Perhaps most excitingly, you can now play the entirety of No Man's Sky in virtual reality using either Steam VR or PlayStation VR. A large set of unique missions is currently available, including base construction--a new type of mission centered around building specific structures.Once you've touched down on other planets, you can now mount and ride various creatures by taming them with bait. Any tamed creature can be peacefully harvested for a variety of cooking ingredients, such as milk, eggs, and "edible clusters"--which is a polite way of saying "poop." When it comes to cooking, there's now an increased variety of harvestable flora on every planet surface, with a nutrient processor allowing you to discover more than 300 recipes for bait, consumables that boost your Exosuit, and dishes you can present to Iteration Cronus aboard the Space Anomaly for culinary critique and potential rewards.Base building has also been improved, there are dynamic NPCs that will now walk around and interact with elements in their environment. More than 60 new dialogues options have been added for alien encounters, the galaxy map has been made more concise; gameplay balancing has alleviated grinding, relaxed inventory limitations, and provided longer stretches of uninterrupted mining without sentinels bugging you; the game has been further optimised on PC along with adding more graphics options, and you can even sit in chairs now. It's a comprehensive list of changes, improvements, and new features that aren't all mentioned here. Ford Motor Company wants to "step up its involvement in gaming" and esports in the immediate future, with a booth at this year's Gamescom set to announce exactly what this entails for the car manufacturer."Ford will at Gamescom next week announce significant news regarding the company's entry into esports," the company's press release states. Ford has become a regular fixture at Gamescom over the past few years, becoming the first auto manufacturer to reveal a new vehicle at the show in 2018. Its only foray into competitive gaming also occurred at Gamescom, when it partnered with Microsoft in 2017 to offer players who recorded the fastest virtual laps in Forza Motorsport 7 the opportunity to drive real-life “hot laps” in a Ford Focus RS around the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.Ford put up a job posting for an esports-focused marketing position a few months ago, seeking a candidate who "will lead the strategic direction, negotiation and ownership of partnerships with gaming and esports companies." The most pertinent qualifications concern the applicant's ability to "build senior-level relationships with global and regional gaming and esports partners e.g. Riot Games, Activision Blizzard, Epic, Stadia and esports teams, players, leagues, promoters etc."Brands such as Coca-Cola, Red Bull, McDonald's, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz have sponsored esports teams, with more using the rapidly growing sport to advertise their products. Even professional soccer teams have got in on the act, as the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Schalke 04, and West Ham United each have their own esports teams. Not to mention the fact Drake now co-owns an esports brand.Ford might be looking to make its mark on esports, too, be it through sponsorship, advertising, or establishing its own team. We'll find out what the company has in mind next week when Gamescom kicks off on August 20.Info from Gamespot.com

At 2019's Summerslam, Bray Wyatt debuted his new persona "The Fiend," and it was terrifying. Now, in WWE 2K20, you'll get a chance to play as the character in the first WWE Originals DLC pack, "Bump in the Night," which is fitting since this pack revolved entirely around horror. While WWE 2K20 Originals Mode was mentioned in the first press release for the upcoming October game, everything about the new mode was cryptic, until now. The game will have its traditional Showcase Mode--this time focusing on the Four Horsewomen--and the first originals pack will bring a creative element to the series, combining WWE Superstars with famous monsters to create stories you would never see on weekly WWE television. Those who pre-order WWE 2K20 will get the WWE Originals pack titled "Bump in the Night." If you don't pre-order the game, the first Originals pack will be available to purchase for $15.There is a lot of content coming with the first WWE Originals pack. The main focus is the Showcase Mode, with an original story revolving around Bray Wyatt and Finn Balor. Bray Wyatt is "The Swampfather" and has become incredibly powerful and the embodiment of the swamp itself. Wyatt tries to recruit Finn Balor into his family, but Balor has to fight his way out.Aside from the aforementioned "The Fiend," one of the highlighted characters for this mode is Braun Strowman. He may not have his own story or 2K Tower, but he'll be one of the monsters you'll have to battle."You have a chance to play as Braun Strowman and his character is done like Frankenstein, Frankenstrowman," Strowman told GameSpot. "And it's going to allow you to cause even more destruction than you've been able to cause with me, the Monster Among Men, in the past. It's a new feature in the game that isn't the normal wrestling that you'd seen so many times. WWE 2K has been able to deliver special features for more content, more playability, doing different things in the game, so there's so many evolutions of everything in our sports industry that we're staying ahead of the curve and bringing more to the table than anybody else does in this business."For the Bump in the Night pack, aside from this horrific Showcase Mode, Towers returns to WWE 2K20. This time around, Bump in the Night will feature numerous Towers revolving around horrific versions of WWE Superstars battling their way to victory. There are five story towers being introduced in this first pack, and in total, there will be 10 playable horror-themed characters--in addition to "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt. Bump in the Night will also deliver new arenas and parts for Create-a-Wrestler Mode. Check out all the content for the pack below.Bump in the Night pre-order content:Showcase content:Play as Demon Finn Balor taking on "Swampfather" Bray Wyatt, as the Wyatt Family tries to recruit Balor.Story Towers:The Fiend: Play as Bray Wyatt's darker side. All Fed Up: "Fed Up" Sheamus takes on WWE Superstars who have all become zombies.Nowhere to Run: "Twisted" Nikki Cross looks to play a game with other Superstars. One of the Family: "Swampfather" Bray Wyatt takes on his past recruit, Daniel Bryan.Nowhere to Hide: "Survivor" Mandy Rose puts an end to Nikki Cross' games.Playable characters:"The Fiend" Bray WyattPlayable horror-themed characters:"Demon King" Finn Bálor"The Swampfather" Bray WyattFrankenStrowman"Wicked" Aleister Black"Unleashed Apex Predator" Randy Orton"Fed-Up" Sheamus"Twisted" Nikki Cross"Survivor" Mandy Rose+2 mystery versions of WWE SuperstarsExtras:Wyatt Swamp ArenaCemetery Brawl ArenaHorror themed Create-a-Wrestler and arena partsWWE 2K20 hits stores on October 22 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Epic Games--the creators behind the popular shooter Fortnite: Battle Royale--has announced the opening of a new studio in Cologne, Germany. The newest studio to fall under Epic's umbrella is imaginatively titled Epic Games Cologne and will be led by the former founders of Factor 5, creators of the Turrican and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron franchises.Prior to joining Epic, the Factor 5 team--including Epic Games Director of Online Technology Julian Eggebrecht and Cologne Studio Director Achim Moller--were working on media delivery with Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu, as well as serving as technology partners for both Nintendo and Sony. It doesn't sound like Epic Games Cologne will deviate too far from this focus, as Epic says the new studio will "[serve] as part of the company's expanding focus on emerging forms of interactive media and streaming technologies.""At the core of Epic's success are highly-skilled and passionate individuals," Eggebrecht says in the company's press release. "Germany is a nation at the forefront of technology and we look forward to extending our local presence as we fill newly created roles and hire exceptional talent."Eggebrecht and Moller both joined Epic earlier this year and previously headed Factor 5 before the studio's closure in 2009. It's exciting to imagine a future where a new Rogue Squadron game could feasibly exist, but it doesn't sound like Epic Games Cologne will be developing games of its own. Maybe we'll see some kind of cross-media Fortnite content, or a streaming platform to rival Twitch and Mixer. Epic Games has already taken on Steam with the Epic Games Store, so anything is possible, but this is all pure speculation at this point.Perhaps we'll discover more next week when the gaming industry shifts its focus to Cologne for Gamescom 2019. It's the mid-way point in August, and Hulu is already looking forward toward September. Sure, subscribers are still trying to plan out what to watch on Hulu this month, but it's now time to take a peak into to the future of the service's offerings. On September 1, Hulu drops most of its content for the month, and it's mostly movies, but don't let that bum you out. September has a ton of quality films you should watch. Do you like '80s/'90s action movies and saxophones? If so, do yourself a favor and check out all four Lethal Weapon movies. That's right, you can find out if Murtaugh is "too old for this s***" over and over again. And if you want to look into the future of the franchise, you can check out the episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia where the gang makes Lethal Weapon 5 and 6.The one movie you absolutely cannot miss is the sci-fi masterpiece Demolition Man. In this 1993 film, Sylvester Stallone plays John Spartan, a take no prisoners police officer hunting down crime kingpin Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes). Spartan catches his man, but because of some complications, both he and Phoenix are put into a cryochamber and service prison sentences. Without revealing too much more (you need this movie in your life if you've never seen it), both men wake up in a confusing future where Taco Bell is the only restaurant, being physically intimate is illegal, and most of the city streets look like Harbor Drive in San Diego, passing by the Convention Center. This is a must watch, even if you've already seen it.As far as Hulu Originals go, there is one huge stand-out for the month of September. On September 4, Wu-Tang: An American Saga has its premiere. The show follows the beginnings of the iconic hip-hop group The Wu-Tang Clan. There have been documentaries and docu-series in the past about the group, but this is the first time there has been a serialized version of their story featuring actors in the roles of the legendary artists.Below, you'll find everything coming out in September for Hulu. It was announced in July 2018 that a new Robocop movie, titled Robocop Returns, was on the way, to be directed by District 9's Neill Blomkamp. But it now looks like the film will need to find a new director, s Blomkamp has confirmed he has left the project.Blomkamp announced his departure on Twitter. He explained that it was due to a scheduling conflict, as he is currently shooting a new horror movie and Robocop producers MGM "need to shoot Robocop now." Check it out below:Off Robocop. I am shooting new horror/thriller and MGM can’t wait/ need to shoot Robocop now. Excited to watch it in theaters with other fans. N — Neill Blomkamp (@NeillBlomkamp) August 15, 2019Robocop Returns is set to be a direct sequel to Paul Verhoeven's 1987 original movie, rather than the 2014 remake. It's being adapted by Terminator: Dark Fate writer Justin Rhodes from a script by Ed Neumeier and Michael Miner, who wrote the original film. However, despite Blomkamp stating that MGM want to make the film immediately, it does not yet have a release date or any confirmed cast. This isn't the first time Blomkamp has been attached to a high profile sci-fi sequel that ultimately didn't happen. He was set to direct an Alien movie, which would've worked as a direct sequel to Aliens, with Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn reprising their roles from James Cameron's classic. The movie was given a 2017 release date, but was delayed several times before being cancelled altogether. The original Robocop was followed by two sequels. 1990's Robocop 2 was a box office hit but was critically panned, while 1993's Robocop 3 turned many fans off by aiming for a younger audience. There were also two short-lived TV shows in the 1990s, one live-action, the other animated. The 2014 remake was directed by José Padilha (Narcos) and starred Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, and Michael Keaton.Info from Gamespot.com

The Epic Games Store's latest update has seen the storefront receive a visual face-lift, while also implementing Humble Bundle keyless integration and additional cloud save functionality.Cloud save support has been added for a number of new games, including The Sinking City, World War Z, and the recently released Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. All Ubisoft titles have supported cloud saves since launch due to their Uplay integration, and Epic says more games will include the feature moving forward. "We're working with the developers of other released games to test cloud saves, and will be enabling more games over time," the studio said. "Upcoming games that support cloud saves will have them enabled at launch!"Here's the full list of games with added cloud support over the past month:Alan WakeClose to the SunDarksiders IIIEnter the GungeonGenesis Alpha OneGNOGHyperlight DrifterKingdom New LandsLimboMoonlighterMutant Year ZeroOvercookedRebel Galaxy OutlawSherlock Holmes: The Devil's DaughterThe Sinking CityThis War Of MineWorld War ZKeyless integration with Humble Bundle and Humble Store has also launched on Epic's service. Once you've linked your Epic Games account to a Humble account, you can purchase games from the Humble Store and they'll automatically be added to your Epic Games Store library without requiring a redemption key. "This is one step we are taking towards creating an open ecosystem for players, and we're looking at more partnerships with highly reputable digital game sellers."Elsewhere, product pages on the Epic Games Store have received a redesign that revolves around visual and informational improvements when it comes to purchasing games. There are now more comprehensive game descriptions, improved release date visibility for upcoming titles, and additional space for images and videos, allowing developers more control over how they present their games and placing more pertinent information in the hands of potential customers.Epic is also close to rolling out some other new features such as special patch optimization for developers that will cut down on patch download sizes, and a playtime tracking feature that will help when it comes to submitting refunds.Aside from this, Epic also revealed the next free game in the Epic Games Store's library. Both Hyper Light Drifter and Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden are free from now until August 22, at which point Fez will be available for free until August 29.GameSpot reviewed Fez back in 2012. Critic Tom McShea awarded it a score of 8/10, saying, "Fez has pitfalls you have to accept if you're going to enjoy this adventure. Technical problems, baffling map design, and obtuse puzzles can serve as a serious barrier to entry. But it's worth putting up with the missteps for the wondrous adventure that awaits. Fez goes far deeper than the simple platformer it initially appears as, and figuring out the solutions to the many puzzles is an experience that harks back to a time when games weren't scared of taking off the leash and letting you run wild. Invest time in Fez's colorful world, and enjoy the wealth of incredible ideas buried within." Info from Gamespot.com

Epic has decided to change a recent Fortnite skin, after finding that it was giving players an unfair advantage. The "Plastic Patroller" skin was designed to look like the green army men toys you may have played with as a child or stepped on as an adult. But the faded green made this particular soldier a little too camouflage, so the studio has issued a change in the 10.10 update.According to the version 10.10 patch notes, the visual update adds mud smears, wear and tear, and a brighter outline. Anyone who wants to refund the Plastic Patroller can do so without a refund token within 30 days from your next login. The patch notes explain, "These changes were added to prevent this Outfit from providing a camouflage effect in certain areas of the map, which was making it very difficult to see."This is the second Fortnite skin controversy in the last few days. Recently Epic was criticized for selling a reskinned version of a Battle Pass item, a dog pet named Gunner. Shortly after, the studio pulled the item and issued an apology. The studio also recently toned down the B.R.U.T.E. mech for being overpowered. Fortnite is in the midst of Season 10, offering an array of new cosmetics to earn with the Battle Pass. Toy Story 4 has crossed a massive money milestone that makes it one of the biggest movies of 2019 and yet another example of Disney's domination at the box office. The movie, which was made by Disney's Pixar studio, has now surpassed $1 billion USD in box office receipts worldwide. Toy Story 4 has made $421.3 million from the Americas and $579.9 million from international markets, according to box office numbers posted by BoxOfficeMojo.Toy Story 4 is the sixth movie of 2019 to make at least $1 billion at the box office. The other five include Avengers: Endgame ($2.79 billion), The Lion King ($1.34 billion), Captain Marvel ($1.12 billion), Spider-Man: Far From Home ($1.098 billion), and Aladdin ($1.035 billion). As you can see, five of the six movies that made $1 billion or more this year came from Disney, with Sony's Spider-Man: Far From Home the only exception. All of them are sequels or franchise movies of some kind. Disney will probably get at least one more billion dollar-earning movie this year, as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opens in December.Toy Story 4 also becomes Pixar's fourth movie to make more than $1 billion, joining Incredibles 2 ($1.24 billion), Toy Story 3 ($1.06 billion), and Finding Dory ($1.02 billion).Only 43 movies in history have made more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office. All of the box office numbers here are not adjusted for inflation.Info from Gamespot.com
