Ubisoft's Uplay+ subscription service has launched today on PC, offering players unlimited access to over 100 Ubisoft games for a monthly fee. The launch is not without its teething problems, however, as many are having trouble accessing the service or are being billed early.Links to Uplay+ on official Ubisoft channels are mostly dead, redirecting to a 404 error page. The company says this is due to increased load, but an additional side effect of this is also causing subscription attempts to fail, with some even being charged the full amount for the first month despite the fact it's supposed to be free if you sign up before September 30.When the service was first announced, Ubisoft invited players to register for free ahead of the September 3 launch. Those that did are being charged now instead of in October when the charge should occur, assuming the subscription isn't cancelled before then. Receiving a sudden fee of $14.99 / £12.99 isn't ideal, particularly when the site isn't working as intended and information is sparse. Ubisoft support teams are currently investigating.Once it does work, Uplay+ sets up Ubisoft to compete with Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass and EA's Origin Access as an alternative way to pay for a wide range of PC games. In most cases, subscribers will be getting access to premium editions of Ubisoft games, with all of the DLC and season pass content included. The service also provides early access to upcoming Ubisoft titles such as Ghost Recon Breakpoint and Watch Dogs Legion, and will be extending to Google Stadia at some point in 2020.Ubisoft recently spoke to GameSpot about why it doesn't release its games on Steam, and we also have all the details on this weekend's Ghost Recon Breakpoint closed beta.Info from Gamespot.com

The longstanding rumors of a Disney+ Star Wars show focusing on the life of Obi-Wan Kenobi were confirmed at D23, with actor Ewan McGregor aboard to reprise his role from the prequel trilogy. Now the company has started to explain more details, including when exactly the Kenobi show will take place.According to Disney's official Star Wars Show, the series will take place eight years after Revenge of the Sith, which also puts it 11 years before A New Hope. That makes it almost an exact midpoint between the two trilogies, a time period when the Emperor was consolidating his power and the few remaining Jedi were in hiding. It's expected that the series will detail the intervening years on Tatooine, where Obi-Wan kept watch over Luke Skywalker. The future Jedi Master would only be a spry 8-year-old as of the time of this series, if he makes an appearance. The show could also include the reappearance of Darth Maul, who survived being cut in half and would currently be alive with robotic prosthetic legs as of the time of the Obi-Wan series. The show is expected to launch in 2021. It won't be the first original Star Wars series to hit Disney+ though. The Mandalorian will launch alongside the service on November 12.Info from Gamespot.com

Star Wars Galaxy's Edge is filled with some really cool souvenirs. And recently, a controversial decision from the TSA was announced, banned one of these from being taken on planes. The offending item are the Coke bottle replicas which are shaped like thermal detonators. They would not be allowed in carry-on or checked bags on any flight. Thankfully, that decision has now been reversed.Originally, the TSA stated that replicas of explosive devices will not be allowed on planes. A TSA representative told CNN that the souvenirs filled with sugar-water could be seen by some people as hand grenades. Thanks for asking! Replica and inert explosives aren't allowed in either carry-on or checked bags. — AskTSA (@AskTSA) August 13, 2019Following the TSA decision was a swarm of people asking why, and included people openly mocking them. A spokesperson for TSA weighed in on the new changes for the souvenirs: "We have completed our review, and instructed our officers to treat these as an oversized liquid," she told CNN. "Because these bottles contain liquids larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters), they should be put in checked baggage or emptied to be brought on as carry-on item."So if you plan on picking up these Coke products while at Galaxy's Edge, make sure you follow the new rules and don't bring a full one on as a carry-on. Aside from the cool souvenirs, there is a lot of cool food and drinks available at the theme park, and check out what we thought about Galaxy's Edge as a whole.Info from Gamespot.com

Madden NFL 20 was released a little over a month ago, introducing X-Factor abilities and the new Face of the Franchise: QB1 mode to the series' gridiron action. Now, the popular football game is receiving an injection of fast and furious fun in the shape of another new mode: Superstar KO.This new co-op elimination mode lets you team up with friends, choose between eight premade teams (including ones with celebrity coaches and unique playbooks), and play truncated 3v3 Madden games in the singular Superstar KO Stadium. The basic idea behind Superstar KO is to get you in and out of games in around five minutes by raising the pace of Madden with a looser and more streamlined style of football. You can hop into matchmaking on your own, but there's no option to play against the CPU.The playbooks for all eight teams are condensed, with each one having a different play style depending on the coach and their strengths and weaknesses. Cleveland Brown's wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. coaches Dot City, so his team can throw the ball and defend against the pass very well, but suffers when it comes to rushing offense and defense. There are also celebrity coaches, such as musicians DJ Khaled and Lil Yachty, who double up as playable quarterbacks called "Icons."The roster consists of 50 current NFL players, the two aforementioned musicians, and eight NFL Hall of Famers. At the beginning of each game, both teams draft their squad from a pool of available players. Each of the current NFL players has an X-Factor ability which is activated at all times, differing from regular Madden 20 games where you need to complete a certain condition in order to activate it.All of this makes for a mode that's faster and more explosive than anything else in Madden 20. The new Superstar KO Stadium brings a festival-like atmosphere to proceedings, with the usual commentary team replaced by a DJ hypeman complete with a soundboard and dynamic music. It's an exciting spin on Madden's traditional football simulation, offering abbreviated games, eccentric uniforms, and DJ Khaled as a gunslinging quarterback. It might be worth playing it just for that alone. In celebration of Superstar KO, Madden NFL 20 is free to play this weekend, September 5-8 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One."Madden NFL 20 is an improved version of the annualized professional football series that excels in some areas and leaves something to be desired in others," GameSpot's Madden 20 review concludes. "The new QB1 career mode--which includes a barebones NCAA football experience--overall feels like a half-baked idea that doesn't deliver anything meaningful or interesting. When it comes to the on-the-field action, however, the new X-Factor and Superstar abilities shake up the familiar gameplay formula to give seasoned players and newcomers alike a fresh way to scheme plays and orchestrate strategy on both sides of the ball." Pokemon Go developer Niantic has settled a class-action lawsuit regarding the popular mobile game. The suit, which was filed during the height of its popularity in 2016, claimed the game was presenting as a public nuisance for drawing sometimes absentminded crowds toward private property. The settlement outlines several steps Niantic will take to prevent further disruptive behavior. The settlement was filed on August 30, and marks an official agreement to terms that were reported earlier this year. Under the agreement, Niantic will allow people to submit a complaint regarding nuisance, trespass, or to remove a Pokemon Go stop, and these points-of-interest will be kept at least 40 meters from residences. Similarly, it will allow parks to request that its Pokemon activities be limited to hours of operation. The company also agreed to alert players in large raid groups with a reminder to be courteous, and will maintain a database of complaints.Any other terms of the agreement, including financial compensation, were not disclosed.Pokemon Go had explosive success upon launch, earning $200 million in its first month alone. The wild popularity has tapered off a bit since then, so private property owners and state parks are likely seeing less traffic driven by the game these days. It is still updating regularly, though, including a current special event to catch the Mythical monster Jirachi.Info from Gamespot.com

Dave Bautista is getting his dream after all--sort of. The wrestler turned actor has been openly campaigning to get cast for a role in the Gears of War movie, an effort that seemed all but doomed. But despite that, he still gets to don the COG armor, with the announcement that he'll be a playable character in Gears 5. You can grab him for free between September 15 and October 28.Bautista announced the news on Twitter, saying that he'll be playable on September 15 after the WWE Clash of Champions event. The teaser shows the actor in full armor, and according to the announcement he recorded more than 700 lines for the game. It’s about damn time. It's not an understatement to say that the upcoming standalone DC movie The Batman has been through a few changes over the years. The film was first announced in 2016, and was set to be directed by and starring Ben Affleck, who played the Dark Knight in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. But things changed as time went on--first Affleck was replaced by Matt Reeves as director, then his script was abandoned, and finally he stepped down from the role. Affleck's replacement is Twilight star Robert Pattinson, who has now spoken up about playing the iconic crimefighter. In an interview with Variety, Pattinson revealed that the first reports about him taking on the role of Batman broke before he had even auditioned for it. "When that thing leaked, I was f***ing furious," he said. "Everyone was so upset. Everyone was panicking from my team. I sort of thought that had blown up the whole thing."Pattinson ultimately won the part over rival Nicholas Hoult. But while it doesn't seem surprising that the high-profile Twilight star would be chosen as the young Bruce Wayne, Pattinson revealed that it was actually him who chased Reeves for the role instead of the other way around."I'd had Batman in my mind for a while," he said. "It's such an absurd thing to say. I sort of had an idea to do it, and I'd been prodding Matt. He didn't accept any prods. I kept asking to meet him. And then [when I did], I had to kind of try to imagine what he'd written, and I hadn't even read the script. I'd come with this pad full of notes."Pattinson also spoke about trying on the Batsuit for the first time during the audition process for The Batman. "I put it on," he said. "I remember saying to Matt, ‘It does feel quite transformative!' He was like, 'I would hope it does! You're literally in the Batsuit.'""You do feel very powerful immediately," Pattinson continued. "And it's pretty astonishing, something that is incredibly difficult to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating. You've got five people trying to shove you into something. Once you've got it on, it's like, ‘Yeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs. You're trying to think of the way to balance, how to bring something new to it and not want to scare people off. And work in the confines of the costume."The Batman hits theaters on June 25, 2021. While no further cast has been announced so far, Reeves has previously spoken about what fans can expect. "It's very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale," he said. "It's told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it's going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It's more Batman in his detective mode than we've seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He's supposed to be the world's greatest detective, and that's not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been."Info from Gamespot.com

At PAX West 2019, we had the opportunity to play The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening, the remake of the Game Boy classic. It's a reimagining of the game that came out 26 years ago and maintains the original top-down 2D gameplay but with a new, vivid (and adorable) art style. You can get some of the highlights and our thoughts on Zelda: Link's Awakening in the video above. After 20 minutes with the game, it was clear that the game executes on the tried-and-true gameplay from the 2D Zelda games as we played through the third dungeon called Key Cavern. There were clever puzzles to solve, varied enemies that presented different challenges, and several rooms to explore to collect keys. We even made to the end of Key Cavern and fought the huge slime boss that had some neat mechanics to defeat. Every dungeon is a 1-to-1 recreation of their originals; those who still remember those layouts will feel right at home when you explore these dungeons. You'll soon be able to relive one of Link's old adventures, or experience it for the first time, when The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening comes to the Nintendo Switch exclusively on September 20, 2019.Info from Gamespot.com

While Netflix still holds the crown of the "King of Streaming"--a totally meaningless title I just made up--not every week is going to be jam-packed with tons of new content. Take this week, for example. Only Tuesday and Thursday have releases this week, but there are a couple original series you should keep your eye on.Coming on Thursday, Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat, Bruno) stars in the new Netflix original limited series The Spy. Based on a true story, Cohen plays Eli Cohen, an Israeli spy who spent time working undercover in Syria who brought information to the government was crucial to winning the Six Day War. Although Cohen is primarily known for his comedic work, he can pull of stunning dramatic roles, which you can see in the first trailer for The Spy.The other big release this week is Season 3 of Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father, also arriving Thursday. In this comedic docuseries, comedian Jack Whitehall travels around the world with his dad. For the third season, the Whitehalls head to the United States of America where the duo visit bingo halls, go to a Wild West town, and Jack learns how to be a professional wrestler, all of which are detailed in the trailer.Below, you'll find everything coming to Netflix this week, and if you want to look ahead, make sure to check out what's coming out on Netflix for all of September.New to Netflix this weekTuesday, September 4The World We MakeThursday, September 6Archibald's Next Big Thing -- NETFLIX FAMILYArticle 15Elite: Season 2 -- NETFLIX ORIGINALHip-Hop Evolution: Season 3 -- NETFLIX ORIGINALJack Whitehall: Travels with My Father: Season 3 -- NETFLIX ORIGINALThe Spy -- NETFLIX ORIGINALInfo from Gamespot.com
