Remember way back in 2014 when people discovered a loot cave in the original Destiny? It was this magical place where you could take advantage of the game's systems to quickly acquire a surplus of rare loot. Well, Borderlands 3 kind of has one of those. In this case, players discovered a way to exploit the level design for one of Borderlands 3's areas to get an enemy to respawn over and over again to increase the drop rate for random legendary weapons. The farming method was first discovered by Reddit user Nordor222.First off, to fully take advantage of this exploit, you'll need to beat Borderlands 3's campaign and unlock its endgame content. In the endgame, you unlock Mayhem Mode, which allows you to crank the difficulty of Borderlands 3 in a variety of ways. Mayhem Mode also increases your chances of getting a legendary loot drop though, so push it up to Mayhem Level 3 at the Sanctuary III console.Once that's done, fly to Eden-6 and fast travel to the Jakob's Estate. Head to the location that's marked on the image below. You'll know you're in the right place when you see a group of bandits. Among them should be a purple-tinged loot tink. He'll have a pretty hefty shield--one amplified by Mayhem Mode--so bring out your strongest shock weapon to take the tink down. Maybe grab an incendiary weapon too, both to deal with the tink once its shield is gone as well as the group of bandits that spawn in to protect him. This tink already gives you pretty good loot, but with the bonuses provided by Mayhem Level 3, he'll spit out a few purple and yellow items as you take him down. If you defeat him, you can open his backpack, which will typically spew out a few pieces of legendary loot and some phenomenal very rare items. Once you've grabbed all you can carry, warp back to the Jakob's Estate fast travel point, quit to the main menu, reload the game, and head back to the tink's spawn location. He'll be back and carrying a brand-new set of legendary items for you to loot. Just repeat the process for as many times as you please.Keep in mind, Gearbox may already know about this exploit and they could be working on a fix for it right now. When players discovered the loot cave in the original Destiny, Bungie shut that down in days. Given how this exploit essentially removes the need to do any of Borderlands 3's endgame content, we imagine Gearbox will want to remove it at some point before the raid boss is added. So act now if you want to take advantage. Just think, what you see below could be yours. Reboots and revivals are very popular today in Hollywood, and now it appears another iconic film is in the running for a comeback. Sony Pictures CEO Tony Vinciquerra said in a new interview that the iconic 1987 fantasy comedy The Princess Bride has come up in talks for a reboot. He told Variety that "very famous people" have come to him to pursue the idea of a Princess Bride reboot. However, the executive declined to say who these people are, stating only that they "want to redo Princess Bride."The quote came as part of a profile of Norman Lear, who produced The Princess Bride, among numerous other film and TV projects such as Stand By Me, All in the Family, The Jeffersons, and Maude. Vinciquerra went on to say that Lear's work is in high demand for reboots."We have so many people coming to us saying, 'We want to remake this show or that show,'" Vinciquerra said. "Some people want to do animated versions of some of the sitcoms. Not a month goes by when we don’t have an idea coming from some very big name wanting to do things with Norman."The Princess Bride stars Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin, and Wallace Shawn. Billy Crystal, Fred Savage, Peter Falk, and Andre the Giant also starred in the movie that was directed by Rob Reiner. The movie was nominated for Best Music, Original Song for "Storybook Love" by Willy DeVille.Elwes, who plays Westley in The Princess Bride, spoke out against the idea of a Princess Bride reboot. Jamie Lee Curtis, who is married to The Six Fingered Man actor Christopher Guest, also said it's a bad idea to reboot the movie. There’s a shortage of perfect movies in this world. Children of Morta is a game about family. Mechanically, it's a satisfying dungeon crawler where you grind through bad guys, level up your characters, and unlock better abilities so that you can face off against a series of increasingly difficult bosses. But really, at its heart, it's a compelling game about what it means to be a part of a family, and how being surrounded by loved ones can make you a better, stronger person. The Bergson family, six of whom you're able to play as, is made up of warriors, mages, and inventors all tasked with holding back the Corruption--which has, at the game's opening, started to spread across their homeland. Their house sits atop a shrine, and to battle against the evil forces of the demonic Ou they need to travel through portals and conquer dungeons, in order to awaken three spirits that can guard against the Corruption. It's a cliched fantasy setup, but Children of Morta makes the most of its tropes by making sure that you're invested in the Bergsons and their plight. Between runs of the dungeons, you're treated to cutscenes and vignettes of the family interacting with one another, and you get to know the beats of their lives and what they get up to when they're not enduring dungeons. You start with two playable characters, family patriarch John and his eldest daughter Linda, but the other four are introduced within the game's opening half. Seeing them train and grow in cutscenes, and getting a sense of their place within the family, means that you're already attached to the characters before you get your hands on them.Gameplay in Children of Morta involves battling your way through hordes of enemies to reach each dungeon's boss, exploring thoroughly and nabbing as many temporary boosts as you can along the way. Each character has three main abilities they'll unlock as they level up: a standard attack that can be used continuously, a special attack with a cooldown, and a more defensive ability (although some of these can still do damage). The combat isn’t necessarily super deep, but it’s a lot of fun thanks to some extremely satisfying animation and the strategic possibilities that become available as you level up. Dungeons consist of multiple levels and are generated anew each time you enter, so finding the entrance to the next level will always require some exploration. Occasionally I’d find myself frustrated when the path to the exit ended up being very elaborate, but this also kept the game feeling fresh when some dungeons took a long time to clear. There's an imbalance between the number of melee and ranged characters--four melee to two ranged--which is a shame, because playing the ranged characters changes the rhythm of the game significantly by encouraging a slower, more thoughtful playstyle, and only having two of them feels like a missed opportunity. I found that Linda (who uses a bow and arrow) was the character I most often managed to beat bosses with, since so many bosses are primed to punish you for getting too close, and I would have loved to have another option beyond her and Lucy, the family’s youngest daughter. Each character plays differently, and you'll no doubt have your favorites. Lucy can shoot a continuous wave of fireballs while standing still, and can be upgraded to withstand three hits without damage; Kevin, the youngest son, can dramatically increase his speed and strength by building up "rage" with continuous knife attacks, but he needs to get very up-close to do so before using his power of invisibility to get out of danger. Some characters are less interesting; for the life of me I can't figure out how to make Joey, who swings a huge hammer, effective. But it's still fun trying out a character you haven't played for a few runs and getting into the groove with each of their distinct rhythms. You need to switch characters regularly, too, as any member of the family who is used too many times in a row begins to suffer from corruption fatigue, which lowers their overall health until they're given time to recover. Each member of the family can also unlock new abilities that benefit every other family member as they level up (like higher rates of critical attack or even assists in certain situations), and later abilities in their skill trees can be very useful--I initially dismissed John for being too slow but found his shield and wide swing arc extremely useful later in the game, and was ultimately glad that the game encouraged me to use every character and discover their strengths (in five cases out of six, at least). The plot's focus on the family, paired with the tremendous art and beautiful animation, makes it easy to love the Bergsons. Lucy is so full of energy that she'll jump in the middle of her run animation (which doesn't interrupt your pathfinding at all but adds personality to her sprite), while eldest son Mark's Naruto-style run is a perfect complement to his martial arts fighting style. Charming touches like this are everywhere, and they give the characters more personality. You feel those unique traits come through in combat, too; there are few things more satisfying than seeing Kevin shimmer with rage and rip through a huge mob of enemies. And as with any family gathering, Children of Morta will encourage and then test your patience. It's a grind-heavy game; it was very rare for me to beat a dungeon on my first shot, as most required that I level up and learn the boss' attack patterns, which requires storming through the dungeon to get to them a few times. You can get away with running right past most enemy mobs, but to stand a chance against the boss at the end, you want to be armed with powerful buffs, and growing stronger requires farming experience and gold to unlock new abilities and improve your stats. However, it takes a long time for the grind to start wearing you down. The combat is meaty and intense, and the allure of growing stronger is so compelling that dealing with huge crowds and collecting all the gold they spill can hold your attention for hours. There's a sharp increase in difficulty right at the end, but I could always identify what had gone right--which fights I'd avoided, which charms I'd made use of, how I'd thought about my character's relative strengths and weaknesses to the boss--and adjust my strategies accordingly to continue to do well. The grind helped make me a better player, instead of simply acting as a level gate. There are special buffs that are only active for that session, and you have a much better chance of beating the boss if you go in after thoroughly exploring the dungeon and powering up. There are many different kinds of buff you can unlock, some temporary, some permanent; I found that I did far better against bosses when I went in with a lot of them active. You can find the various items and objects that make you more powerful throughout each dungeon, or buy them from shopkeepers that pop up, and I found myself getting excited whenever I found a good combination. Going up against a boss that has beaten you several times, now armed with a combination that you think will give you an advantage, is a great feeling.Your dungeon runs are also broken up by numerous subquests that can appear throughout each dungeon, which expand on the game's lore, introduce new NPCs, and result in significant upgrades or rewards. A few even have major narrative impact--there are a series of quests early on that end with the Bergsons adopting and raising an adorable puppy, for instance. But if one dungeon is really giving you grief, eventually it can feel like the game's ready for you to move on before you're ready yourself--you'll stop getting cutscenes and character vignettes after missions, and you'll find that you've run out of subquests to complete. But then, the feeling of eventually taking down a boss that was troubling you is extremely satisfying, especially knowing that you're going to get more lovely character moments as you try to beat the next one.You also have the option of playing the whole game in co-op, and the game balance differs depending on whether you're alone or not. However, I found myself preferring to stick to solo play--it's annoying for a friend to talk over cutscenes and the difficulty scaling makes co-op more complicated.Children of Morta's fantastic art style and enjoyable storytelling take what would have been an otherwise fun roguelike dungeon-crawler and elevate it a great deal. Taking down enemies and eventually triumphing over bosses is enjoyable, but what kept bringing me back was the connection I felt to the Bergsons, and my sincere desire to help them push back against the Corruption. After all, it's a lot easier dealing with dungeons full of monsters when you have a family to come home to. Info from Gamespot.com

Death Stranding releases for PS4 on November 8 and, in the lead-up to its release, director Hideo Kojima has been discussing its themes and his ambitions for it. Kojima previously said that, for him, Death Stranding marks the creation of a new genre, which he called "Strand Games." However, for the genre to be explored properly, more Death Stranding projects may be required.Speaking to GameSpot, Kojima indicated that Death Stranding alone may not be enough to give Strand Games the permanence he wants the genre to have. This, he believes, is because the concepts and ideas are new territory for him as a creator and for those who play the game and experience them. What is put forth in Death Stranding could serve as the foundation for the genre, but Kojima also expressed a desire to refine them, which would also ensure awareness of the genre remains."I'm not really sure," he said when asked if Death Stranding would become a series. "The most difficult part is, when you create something new, you have to create a sequel and then a third version or it [will] not remain as a genre."When this game comes out there will be a lot of pros and cons, and [these elements could become the essence of the core part], but I think it's better that I keep it going in a sequel."While Kojima seemed to suggest a revision for- and/or a sequel to-Death Stranding could be required, though he noted there were other projects on the table too."Yeah, probably at least 1.5, and then 2, maybe, at least so that it remains and people are aware of the genre. There are a lot of other projects that come up like TV dramas and things like that. A lot of pitches come my way."A roadblock, however, is finding the time to tackle follow-ups and exploring other projects. "Why I can't say it's definite is because I only have one body, and there are many projects that I have to be involved with. And it's really tough for me physically to do many things at once."Kojima has been open about not completely understanding his own game since its gameplay and world view are something new. However, in the interview he said that much of Death Stranding is inspired by the Japanese concept of "omoiyari," which can be loosely translated to compassion for others. He goes on to explore the various ways this omoiyari can manifest, the feelings it can inspire, and how that all manifests in the game.Death Stranding had a major presence at Tokyo Game Show 2019, where Kojima appeared on stage multiple times to demonstrate various aspects of the game. These include Death Stranding's core gameplay, which involves making deliveries. He also showed off what players will be able to do in Death Stranding's safe house, where main character Sam Bridges recovers between jobs.Info from Gamespot.com

Death Stranding confronts dark subject matter, but it appears to be an optimistic game about building connections with other people. Game director Hideo Kojima says that darkness was why he insisted on building in a purely positive game mechanic, and also plays out in how characters relate to you in the story.Kojima told Game Informer that the "Like" system, which allows players to give each other kudos, was meant to be a purely positive mechanic without any competition or currency attached. You can't ever have too much of it, and there's no option to dislike or thumbs-down someone. He said this was a conscious choice to help counteract how bleak the world was otherwise."Because the world setting is the dark and lowest world you can think of," he said. "Your solitude, you're alone--the storyline itself is a worst-case scenario. So why don't I put in a system where it's really more positive than negative?"He also talked more about the story of the game and building connections between cities. Some people you encounter will be unwilling to help build connections because they don't want to repeat past mistakes. Kojima suggests that world events similar to the election of President Trump and Brexit may exist in the past of this world, making NPCs uneasy with building connections to other cities."For Bridges' sake, you're connecting from east to west and they want you to join the UCA--the United Cities of America. When you connect, you can use UCA services, but at the same time, they're retrieving your information 24 hours a day. It's like 1984. Some people may not like that, and say 'I'm not going to connect to UCA, because we're going to repeat the same thing that we did.' Like Trump, or the EU, these things. It's a metaphor. However, if you get really close, they start to say, 'Okay, I'll connect.'"Death Stranding is coming to PS4 on November 8. The highly anticipated Joker movie's release date is inching ever closer. Are you looking forward to seeing the infamous Batman villain finally starring in his own movie? Let us know in the comments below. The Joaquin Phoenix-starring Joker movie is still weeks away, but conversations about the possibility of a sequel have been going on for some time now. Back in August, headlines around the internet suggested Joker director Todd Phillips was already considering plans for Joker 2. But at an event after a Joker screening in Los Angeles recently, Phillips took the opportunity to set the record straight."It's so annoying," Phillips told GameSpot, when asked about his earlier comments concerning a sequel. "You say one thing and it becomes the story for 24 hours.""Why don't you want to work with me again?" Phoenix, who was also present, teased the director in response.Phillips continued, "The quote was, 'I will do anything Joaquin wants to do.' And I would. But the movie's not set up to [have] a sequel. We always pitched it as one movie, and that's it."The director, perhaps best known for The Hangover--and its multiple sequels--said he was speaking "jokingly" when he told Total Film (published online via sister site GamesRadar) that he and Phoenix could come up with "something pretty cool" for a potential Joker 2.This time, Phillips was clear that he was speaking purely hypothetically."We have no plan for a sequel," the director said. "We made this movie, I pitched it to Warner Bros. as one movie, it exists in its own world, that's it. It's not about worldbuilding, it's not about other versions, it's like, here's our version of the origin story, that's it. That's what I meant." This version of Joker exists separately from DCEU movies like Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Justice League--a fact Phillips has been clear about. But at the Toronto International Film Festival recently, the director also insisted that Phoenix's Joker and the upcoming new iteration of Batman played by Robert Pattinson will not collide. "I don't see [Joker] connecting to anything in the future," Phillips said. "This is just a movie."That doesn't seem to suggest that a sequel to this movie is totally out of the question, but there are certainly more factors involved than Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix deciding it would be a laugh. That said, the reviews for Joker so far have been largely positive, and anything is possible in the future. The movie has scored a 70 on Metacritic as of the time of writing. In GameSpot's Joker review, we said that "Joker succeeds, without equivocation, because it transforms the villain into the populist antihero we need him to be now. Joker wears its influences on its maroon sleeves, but it also carves its own gashes through the blood-soaked landscape of contemporary comic book movies, offering something that, despite teetering on the shoulders of 80 years of history, is wonderfully fresh, dangerously exciting, undeniably entertaining, and rock-solid in its artistry. It might make you uncomfortable, and it will no doubt stay with you long after the curtains close; great movies often do."Joker hits theaters October 4. In semi-related news, The Suicide Squad director James Gunn recently revealed the cast list for his Suicide Squad sequel, and it's a doozy.Info from Gamespot.com

The highly anticipated Joker movie's release date is inching ever closer. Are you looking forward to seeing the infamous Batman villain finally starring in his own movie? Let us know in the comments below. It's no secret that the upcoming Joker movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix as a new version of the Clown Prince of Crime, is a standalone film that won't connect to other recent live-action DC and Warner Bros. movies like Aquaman and Justice League. But a recent report that suggested Joker won't have anything to do with DC comics at all was incorrect, according to director Todd Phillips himself.Speaking to journalists during a Q&A following a Joker screening in Los Angeles recently, Phillips claimed he was "misquoted" in the previous report--and he clarified the exact relationship between his Joker movie and the long history of DC comics."It's funny, because a lot of you guys have probably reprinted something I said in Empire, where I was misquoted," Phillips said. "I'm not gonna complain. I like the writer--he wrote a great piece, where I said, 'We didn't take anything from the comic book world.'"That's actually not what I said. What I said was, 'We didn't take anything from one particular comic.' We kind of picked and chose what we liked from the 80-year canon of Joker."Some of the Joker's iconic features are present in the new movie, such as his unnerving laugh. Other things are missing, such as the grinning facial scars the character sometimes possesses. And there are new elements, like the fact that this version of Joker loves to dance. So how did Phillips and his co-writer, Scott Silver, decide what to include, what to lose, and what to change from existing Joker lore?"Honestly, it was what served us," Phillips said. "Credit to Warner [Bros.] and DC, and a lot of it had to do with the fact that I've been at Warner for 15 years making movies, and I've earned some goodwill. So credit to them for going, 'Go do your thing, use what you want,' and it really was like, 'What serves us here?'" Joker does have other connections with the larger DC universe beyond the titular character himself. The biggest one is the character Thomas Wayne, played by Brett Cullen. Obviously, Bruce Wayne's father has also appeared in various iterations over the years, whether as a driving force for Batman or as a fleshed-out character in his own right. Wayne's inclusion in this movie provides a concrete connection to familiar Batman lore."[Thomas Wayne] is not in it a lot, but he casts a large shadow," Phillips explained.Setting the film around the early '80s helped cement its independence from the DCEU, according to the director."There were a lot of reasons [we set it in the late '70s/early '80s]," he said. "One of the reasons was to separate it, quite frankly, from the DC Universe, when we pitched it to Warner Bros. and handed the script in--to sort of make it clear, 'This isn't f***ing with anything you have going on. This is a separate universe--so much so, it takes place in the past, before everything else.'"Part of Phillips' goal with this movie was to "deconstruct the comic book movie a little bit.""It can't all be CGI parking lot fights," Phillips said. "It's gonna just burn itself out."Based on the reviews so far, Joker seems to succeed at that.

Orcs, elves, and Hobbits trudging through Middle-earth; a nuclear monster raining hellfire from above; a dream-hopping killer terrorizing teenagers in their sleep. Whether it's The Lord of the Rings, Godzilla, or Nightmare on Elm Street, compelling stories have a way of sticking with us. They strike a nerve, make our hearts pound, and burrow into our psyches. Long after we've experienced them, we find ourselves still thinking about the tall tales. But why?Perhaps it's because, despite how fantastical some of these stories may seem, their seeds are sown in our world. Perhaps it's because the line between fantasy and reality is much blurrier than most realize...True Fiction is a new series devoted to exploring just that. Each week we'll take you beyond what you've seen on screens to explore what inspired the fiction we love. Hosted by Kurt Indovina, each episode investigates the origins of pop culture's most compelling stories. We speak to experts to find the truths within them and analyze how and why these tales have been imprinted on us and our culture. But this isn't just about monsters and made-up universes. Even pop culture's more grounded touchstones have fascinating histories, like the very real murder that served as the foundation for Twin Peaks, for example, or the tumultuous history that makes Jackie Chan punish himself for our entertainment. You can watch True Fiction on the GameSpot Universe YouTube channel. The show begins on September 22 and new episodes will be released every Sunday. You'll also be able to find True Fiction here on GameSpot within this very article, which we'll be updating weekly as new episodes are released. You have plenty of time.Seinfeld's move is just the latest news in a string of announcements about fan-favorite series headed to other streaming services. In the spring of 2020 Friends will leave Netflix and head to HBO Max, WarnerMedia's upcoming streaming service. In January 2021, The Office will leave Netflix and will land on NBC Universal's upcoming service. In addition to Netflix losing those two series, they are and have been losing plenty of Disney content, including Star Wars and Marvel content for the Disney+ launch on November 12.
