Update: Respawn has now confirmed Apex Legends' Fight or Fright event, as well as the existence of a new solo zombie game mode, Halloween-themed skins, and a Lifeline heirloom. The event is scheduled to begin on October 15 and continue through to November 5. The original story follows.Though Respawn has yet to confirm the information, recent datamine leaks point to Apex Legends' upcoming Halloween-themed event being fairly extensive. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the apparent return of Kings Canyon, Apex Legends' original map, which has since been replaced by Season 3's World's Edge.According to dataminer Shrugtal, the limited-time event, Fight or Fright, will allow you to participate in a game mode called Shadowfall that will take place on a nighttime version of Kings Canyon. In this new mode, you drop solo into a free-for-all. But death isn't the end, as dying brings you back with enhanced speed and melee damage. So depending on how well you do, your endgame objective for the mode changes. The last 10 survivors win by ensuring at least one of them makes it to a dropship that spawns at the end of the match, while the infected win by killing all of the final 10 survivors before they can make the ship.Like previous events, Fight or Fright will offer unique limited-time challenges to complete alongside the traditional weekly and daily challenges--providing a way to earn special Apex Packs that include thematic cosmetic skins for guns and characters. On Twitter, That1MiningGuy has datamined most of them, including an heirloom for Lifeline.Given the Halloween theme, the character skins are all fairly spooky. Gibraltar, Crypto, Mirage, Wraith, Lifeline, Bangalore, Bloodhound, and Caustic all dress up in Halloween costumes as Frankenstein's monster, Dracula, a cowboy, a witch, a zombie, a skeleton, a scarecrow, and a clown respectively. Octane and Wattson dress up too, but just in Halloween-themed garb, not an actual costume. If the datamine is accurate, Pathfinder seems to not get a skin for the event.Respawn has already teased a Halloween-type event is coming to Apex Legends, so it's probably only a matter of time before the datamined information is confirmed to be true or false. While waiting for confirmation, there's plenty of new content to unlock in Season 3: Meltdown's battle pass, a brand-new map to explore, and a new character to try.Info from Gamespot.com

Following the ascension of some stars and the rounding of some corners, the dog arrives at the reading room where the rest of the main cast sits.Alongside Ein the Very Good Corgi, Cowboy Bebop will feature Alex Hassell as Vicious, Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine, John Cho as Spike Spiegel, and Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black. Casting announcements for characters like Ed and others have yet to be made. The live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop will have Alex Garcia Lopez (who has also worked on Netflix shows like The Witcher) direct the first two episodes. Destiny 2: Shadowkeep's newest Raid, Garden of Salvation, went live over the weekend. Thanks to the first group of players who were able to complete it, new content has now been unlocked for all players with access to Season of the Undying (included with Shadowkeep): the Vex Offensive. The central component of the new, Vex-centric season is now officially underway, but in order to take part in the Vex Offensive you're told to complete the Eyes on the Moon quest. Despite being given the name of the quest, you might be at a loss for how to proceed. Here's what you need to do to finish Eyes on the Moon and unlock the Vex Offensive. Now that the Raid has been beaten, when you log into Destiny you'll get a new cutscene where Ikora talks about the Vex and we see the new threat they pose. You'll want to speak directly to Ikora at the Tower, and she'll give you a quest. At this point, it seems as if you can jump into Vex Offensive, which has its own node when looking at the moon's map, but this is locked until you complete the aforementioned Eyes on the Moon quest. Despite some confusion with the name, all you need to do is complete the quest Ikora has given you, where you have to kill 100 Vex and three Gate Lords on the moon. How To Complete Eyes On The MoonWhile you can find the occasional Vex wandering around the moon, this quest step can only fully be completed by taking part in one of the Vex Invasion Zones--so-called "warpgate hot spots." These are public event-style occurrences that take place in one of three designated areas: Hellmouth, Archer's Line, and Anchor of Light. These happen periodically, seemingly before or after the standard public events that can unfold in these areas. There's little mistaking them: You'll see a giant electric storm and warpgate in the sky and a lot of Vex on the ground. For the purposes of finishing Eyes on the Moon, you'll just have to kill a lot of Vex and the boss--known as a Gate Lord--that spawns at each of these invasion sites. If you successfully kill the Gate Lord before it leaves, another warpgate will open up nearby. You can make your way through three of these encounters before then taking on a special hydra enemy called an Overlord. Killing that will end the event. You don't need to successfully make your way through the entire event for the purposes of Eyes on the Moon, but doing it in one shot will guarantee you the three Gate Lord kills that you need. Destiny 2 Recent News Destiny 2's Eyes On The Moon: How To Start The Vex Offensive Activity Destiny 2 Shadowkeep Review In Progress - A Giant Leap Destiny 2 Horned Wreath Location: Where To Go For Essence Of Vanity Quest Destiny 2 Captive Cord Location: Where To Go For Essence Of Failure Quest Destiny 2 Shadowkeep: How To Power Above 900 And Get Raid Ready The Vex OffensiveOnce you've secured the necessary number of kills, only then are you technically granted the quest called Eyes on the Moon (hence the confusion some players have experienced). This simply involves speaking with Eris Morn. Once that's done, you can freely access the Vex Offensive, which is a six-player PvE matchmaking activity. You'll fight waves of Vex (including Champions, which are the special enemy class that is best dealt with by using weapons with special mods unlocked through the Gate Lord's Eye seasonal artifact) and earn new weapons.Ikora, who has long had little purpose at the Tower, now has weekly and daily bounties for Vex Offensive. These pay out XP, glimmer, and Vex Mind Components, a new type of currency you might have already obtained by leveling up the seasonal battle pass. We now know what these are used for: You cash them in with Ikora for "data input" quests, which simply involve racking up 50 Vex kills (in Vex Offensive or elsewhere) with a specified weapon type. Completing one rewards you with a specific weapon which can also be earned in Vex Offensive. Doing these quests, much like the Essence ones on the moon, are a way of farming for your ideal weapon roll.Info from Gamespot.com

Rainbow Six Siege has become one of Ubisoft's most successful live games with a steady stream of new operators joining the competitive landscape. One fan recently wondered if the game would ever add a K9 operator, and while the team at Ubisoft has considered it, there's one problem holding them back: no one wants to kill a dog.The answer came in the midst of a Q&A with presentation director Alexander Karpazis. The format was addressing questions from Twitter, which means his answers were quick and pithy. In response to one fan asking about a K9 unit in Siege, he simply acknowledged that the team had thought about it, but implied the team hasn't figured a way around that central problem."This is something we've talked about for a while," Karpazis said. "Our creative director always talks about a K9 unit. But to answer your question, I have to ask you a question: are you okay with shooting a dog?"Dogs as enemies are common in games featuring hordes of undead, and less so but still present in games like Call of Duty. The upcoming game The Last of Us 2 features dogs as enemy units, which may make you pretty uncomfortable. But introducing it in a competitive game is a different kind of design challenge, and Karpazis doesn't sound sure they've solved it.Elsewhere in the Q&A, he mentions that the team cancelled plans for an Area 51 map. The most recent update added an operator with a flame-throwing shield, so despite its gritty Tom Clancy roots the game isn't exactly afraid to get absurd. Ubisoft just doesn't want to make you sad while they're at it.Info from Gamespot.com

We're only a week away from CD Projekt RED doing what most probably assumed was impossible: porting The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to the Switch. The Witcher 3: Complete Edition hits Nintendo's platform on October 15, but if you'd like to save some money, you can pre-order prior to that for $10 off on Amazon. The Witcher 3: Complete Edition - $50 ($60)See at AmazonThe Witcher 3: Complete Edition includes everything that's been released for CD Projekt RED's huge RPG. That means Switch players will be able to play the full Wild Hunt campaign, in addition to the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions. It also comes with 16 DLC packs, which include content like quests, contracts, and armour, in addition to cosmetics like new beards and hair.Additionally, the Switch port comes with stickers, a world map, and a compendium for The Witcher universe. The physical version also includes everything on a single Switch card, so you won't need to download anything to enjoy it.The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received one of GameSpot's few 10/10 scores. In our The Witcher 3 Review, critic Kevin Van Ord called it "one of the best role-playing games ever crafted, a titan among giants and the standard-setter for all such games going forward.""Where the Witcher 2 sputtered to a halt, The Witcher 3 is always in a crescendo," he wrote. "But while the grand clashes are captivating, it is the moments between conflicts, when you drink with the local clans and bask in a trobairitz's song, that are truly inspiring." There are popular video games, and then there are games that absolutely take over Twitter. From memes to comics to fan art, two 2019 games are particularly big stars in this regard: Untitled Goose Game and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I've seen my fair share of both Untitled Goose Game memes and incredible (or goofy or lewd) Three Houses fan art, but even then, I didn't expect to see them combined into one perfect series.Twitter user Sharlene (@parfait1807), an illustrator and my new hero, has imagined Fire Emblem: Three Houses in the Untitled Goose Game universe. In the series, which is currently eight different images, the goose steals Hero's Relics from both Byleths and all three house leaders, poses for a painting for Ignatz, and runs off with Ferdinand's wig, which is now canon as far as I'm concerned. You can see the full FE3H x Untitled Goose Game set in her Twitter Moment.FE3H X Untitled Goose Game ✨💙ðŸ¦ðŸ–¤ðŸ¦…💛🦌#Byleth #DimitriAlexandreBlaiddyd #EdelgardVonHresvelg #ClaudeVonRiegan #FireEmblemThreeHouses #FE3H #UntitledGooseGame #Fanart pic.twitter.com/8LOvw0D1fa — Sharlene 💙🦠(@parfait1807) September 30, 2019I am Ferdinand von Goose ✨#FerdinandVonAegir #FireEmblemThreeHouses #FE3H #UntitledGooseGame #fanart pic.twitter.com/aNoT0PnLKY — Sharlene 💙🦠(@parfait1807) October 6, 2019The Mona Goose ✨More love for our precious Ignatz and his creativity~ #Ignatz #FireEmblemThreeHouses #FE3H #untitledgoosegame #fanart pic.twitter.com/KK1AFYtSNd — Sharlene 💙🦠(@parfait1807) October 3, 2019I also would like to point out that female Byleth's patterned tights--a contentious feature of her standard outfit--say "HONK" all over them in this universe. That is definitely an upgrade and would get me to consider switching from the school uniform I currently have her dressed in.If you're looking for more Fire Emblem, Sharlene has posted quite a bit of Three Houses fan art (and jokes) without the goose as well. For more of the goose, be sure to check out our Untitled Goose Game review, in which James O'Connor said: "There's nothing else quite like Untitled Goose Game; it's charming and cute despite being mean, and both very silly and very clever. It's also probably the best non-racing game ever to feature a dedicated 'honk' button."Info from Gamespot.com

PlayStation 4 has lost Facebook integration. Sony announced in a news post that as of October 7, Facebook is no longer supported for all the "Share" features. This means players can no longer post their gameplay clips to Facebook or share their Trophy unlocks with friends on the social networking site. Additionally, the "friend finder" feature that uses Facebook to help find friends, is no longer support. This also means that PS4 users who imported their Facebook profile picture as their profile picture on PS4 will have to pick a new one.In short, the only major change here is that Facebook is no longer supported as a place where you can share content using the PS4's Share button. All of the other existing sharing destinations, including Twitter, remain available. Additionally, players can still use the web browser to visit Facebook from their PS4.A spokesperson for Facebook told Kotaku that Facebook integration is expected to return if the company can come to terms with Sony on a new contract."We're working with Sony to finalize an updated contract designed to improve the Facebook integration on PlayStation," Sony said. "While these discussions are in progress, Facebook features will not be available on PlayStation 4. We hope to bring these features back as soon as our teams reach agreement."As VG247 points out, it is possible that the removal of Facebook integration on PS4 is related to the Cambridge Analytica scandal at Facebook, which pertains to the company's handling of user data.In July, Facebook said in a statement that it was removing PlayStation's access to Facebook friend data "immediately."Looking ahead, Sony is expected to launch the PlayStation 5 in 2020. Some information about the next-generation console has come to light, but there is no word yet on its social platform integration.Info from Gamespot.com

Season 10 of Fortnite is almost over. This season of Epic's hit battle royale game is now scheduled to end on Sunday, October 13, after the developer extended the season by an extra week, and it appears the new end date will coincide with some kind of big, world-changing in-game event.Just what that event will entail remains to be seen, but it will have some major ramifications for Season 11, which will kick off shortly after Season 10 ends. As usual, Epic has been fairly tight-lipped about the upcoming season, but there are some things we know about it or can infer based on what has been happening in Fortnite the past couple of weeks. To help get you up to speed, we've rounded up everything we know about Fortnite Season 11 below. When Does "The End" Event Start? Just as it does before every seasonal changeover, Epic is holding a major in-game event in Fortnite ahead of Season 11. This season's event is ominously known as "The End," and it's all scheduled to unfold in only a couple of days. According to the countdown timers that have begun appearing all across the Fortnite island, the event will occur at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET on October 13.What Will Happen During The Event? At this moment, it's unclear just what will occur during the event, but it will almost undoubtedly lead to some big changes in Season 11. It will also presumably involve The Visitor, the time-traveling antagonist whose rocket in Season 4 created the giant rift in the sky, precipitating the events that would eventually lead up to this moment. The end is near. The Scientist has arrived, his mission is unclear. Complete the Meteoric Rise Mission to unlock the Secret Battle Pass Outfit! pic.twitter.com/MPY6lIEwap — Fortnite (@FortniteGame) September 14, 2019Like many other elements from Fortnite's past, The Visitor returned to the game during Season 10. Now known as "The Scientist," the antagonist is once again building a rocket at Dusty Depot, which will presumably launch once the countdown timers expire. That's not all; the character seems to have infected Fortnite's controversial BRUTE mechs with some kind of virus, causing them to explode immediately upon appearing. When Does Fortnite Season 11 Start? We know Season 10 of Fortnite is scheduled to end on October 13, but Epic has not yet confirmed when Season 11 will officially begin. A new season of the game typically kicks off immediately after the previous one; however, there have been instances in the past when the new season would follow a couple of days later, so it's currently unclear exactly when Season 11 will start. It's safe to say Season 11 will kick off sometime next week, but we're still waiting on the official timing from Epic. Fortnite News Fortnite Season 11: The End Event Date, New Map, And Everything We Know So Far Before Fortnite Season 11, A Major Event Will Take Place This Weekend Fortnite Dev Hears Cross-Play Matchmaking Complaints, But Isn't Changing Anything Fortnite Season 10 Extended By One Week, 10.40.1 Patch Notes Released Fortnite Season 10 Challenge Guides What Is Changing In Season 11?One change Epic has already confirmed for Season 11 is the addition of bots. As part of its recent spate of matchmaking changes, the developer is introducing AI-controlled opponents to the game next season. According to Epic, these are intended to help players hone their skills and develop their strategies; the better players get, the fewer bots will appear in their matches, the developer says.It also appears there are some big changes in store for the island. Dataminers have recently discovered a list of new location names within the game's code, leading many to speculate that Season 11 may introduce an entirely new map--or at least make some significant changes to the current one. That, however, has not yet been confirmed.Info from Gamespot.com

The Joker movie starring Joaquin Phoenix continues to be one of the most talked-about movies. Now that the movie is in theatres, viewers quickly noticed that the song "Rock 'n' Roll (Part II)" by English glam rocker Gary Glitter is used during a pivotal moment in the evolution of Joker the character.Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, was arrested in 1997 and charged in 1999 for child pornography and other crimes. He was incarcerated in 2005 and is currently serving a 16-year sentence. He is presumably being paid royalties for the use of his music in media, and this, among other things, is getting people riled up."Rock 'n' Roll (Part II)" was, and in some places, remains an institution of American sports. The song is played in arenas to hype fans up. In Joker, it's used during an important scene related to Arthur Fleck's transition to becoming the Joker.Joker the movie was not the first popular movie to use the song, either, as it was featured in Meet the Fockers, which came out in 2004 after Gadd was arrested.According to the BBC, Gadd was charged with a number of sexual offenses.Joker released in theatres on October 4 and it quickly become the biggest October opening in the history of cinema in North America. Worldwide, the movie has made more than $234 million already, which represents a huge success given the film was made on a reported $55 million budget (before marketing). You spend almost all your time in Neo Cab sat behind the wheel of a cab, but as a player, you never get to steer it. Instead of choosing routes and getting to destinations quickly, you're deciding which passengers to pick up and how you're going to talk to them. It's the near future, and the game's protagonist, Lina, has just moved to the "automated city" of Los Ojos, California, a glittering, impersonal metropolis surrounded by desert. Lina, who is planning to move in with her best friend Savy, is one of the few drivers in a town that now runs mostly on self-driving cars owned and operated by Capra, a monolithic tech giant (and clear Tesla/Apple analogue) that has fundamentally changed American life. These are Neo Cab's best features--its examination of what it means to live in futuristic cities and the value of the human connections Lina manages to forge makes for a compelling experience.Neo Cab has the framework of a mystery, and its initial hook is that you're solving the case of your best friend's sudden disappearance. But ultimately, the search for Savy takes a back seat to, well, the people in your back seat. This is a game about the susceptibility of people working within a gig economy, what happens when a single company is given too much power, and how humanity can and will adapt to the changes that seem to be on the horizon. It's a clever examination of the world we live in today and the world we could find ourselves in 10 years from now. Neo Cab is well-written and enjoyable, and it's consistently engaging despite some presentation issues. For each night that Lina works, you're given a few choices that dictate how the story unfolds. You get to choose which passengers you're going to pick up from your map, and once they're in your car, you get to make choices during your conversations with them. Those choices will affect how the conversations go, what state of mind Lina will find herself in afterwards, and--crucially--what rating your customers will give you at the end of the ride. A few passengers are "Prime" members who will only ride with you if you have a five-star average, and the average is seemingly calculated based on the last few rides rather than your lifetime performance, so a single unhappy customer can tank it and impede your search for Savy. It's a familiar gameplay model, but thanks to strong writing, interesting characters, and the script's willingness to dive into the complexities of the technology and social issues it explores, Neo Cab's choices consistently feel significant. Neo Cab's greatest success is in how it feels simultaneously futuristic and of its time. Although Neo Cab has some fun with its world (there's talk of infinite timelines and giant worms that roam below the city), it's also depicting a world you can easily imagine living in, one that is more convenient but also less personal, where privacy has eroded and the job market demands intensely specific specialization. Lina's outsider perspective in the city makes her a perfect player surrogate, meaning that I found myself wondering how I would respond to the questions my passengers posed, not just how Lina might feel. The conversational options you can choose from are dictated by Lina's mood. Early on, Lina is gifted a "Feelgrid" wrist strap, which glows different colors depending on how she's feeling. The Feelgrid can indicate if certain options are going to be opened up or closed off; if Lina's in a good mood, the green glowing light on her wrist will prevent her from being able to choose aggressive or angry responses, or if she's got a blue light to indicate that she's sad, it might allow you to pick a downbeat dialogue option. It's not the deepest system, but it's an interesting approach that gives you a clear sense of how Lina is reacting at any given moment, and the in-game discussions around the ramifications of openly sharing your feelings at all times are interesting, too.You might expect a game set predominantly inside a car would eventually grow tedious or samey, but the stream of characters that step into the Neo Cab keeps the game interesting. The way each passenger is animated tells you something about their lives; some won't crack a smile, while others will immerse themselves in screens the moment they step into the car, while a few more outlandish figures are used to build up Neo Cab's increasingly strange world. There's the young girl who has spent her life locked into a horrifying suit of armor for her own "protection"; the gold-hearted ex-con with a secret; the German pals who are convinced that Lina is a robot. The passengers not only help to flesh out the politics of the game world, but often offer discussions that will force you to confront numerous life philosophies. Some characters worship technology, while others go so far as to condemn cars entirely; many relish human interaction, while others prefer to be driven by a machine. The most consistent feeling is isolation, and Neo Cab does a great job of examining the straightforward benefits of simply talking to others without putting too fine a point on it.Like the passengers in the back of Lina's car, every player is going to have their own thoughts and feelings on automation, capitalism, and the way technology can and will alter our lives. As such, the game presents multiple perspectives while also suggesting that we should be wary of any company that aims to build a monopoly, and it gives players the options to explore the grey areas in their conversation options whenever possible (which isn't to say the game is impartial; by the ending, it has taken a clear stance on the dangers posed by Capra). Some passengers can become friends with Lina, or at least begrudging acquaintances, and developing these relationships and learning the ins and outs of how these characters operate--and how living in an automated city has shaped them--is a pleasure that builds over time. Neo Cab is, ultimately, a hopeful game; it's about the importance of human connections in a world that has made it easier to stick to yourself.Neo Cab's conversations provide a rich tapestry of lives that show how inescapable Capra's influence is, but while you can build a picture of the city in your mind easily enough, the focus on the cab means that Los Ojos feels visually underdeveloped. Whenever the camera cuts to outside your car for a moment, assets will pop in from nowhere on the side of the road as you drive past, and the streets you see are all functionally identical and empty, meaning that sometimes characters will describe an area in a way that does not match up with what you see. The dissonance between how the city is described and how it's visualized can be isolating, and I found myself having to actively ignore any imagery I saw of the city itself, focusing on the game's words over its visuals. There are a few additional technical issues in Neo Cab that can take away from the experience. Animations don't always match up to text; during one conversation, the dialogue told me that a character had fallen asleep, but their avatar was visibly awake, their open eyes darting around. The driving animation is canned, too, which means that Lina might reference taking a left during conversation, but you won't see her make the turn. Neo Cab often requires you to fill in the blanks, but these stumbles often make the game world and characters, which are fleshed out so well in text, feel more artificial. There are other issues with the game's presentation that are inconvenient, or take away from the experience. There's no conversation log, which means that if you skip something accidentally or miss a piece of conversation, you can't go back to see what it was--a real possibility, especially since there's no voice acting. There are also very few music tracks in the game, and hearing them loop became tiresome by the game's ending. The autosaves are weird, too; after the game ended I wanted to jump back to a specific point to check out a passenger I hadn't collected the first time, but found that the game had saved frequently up until the halfway point and then stopped, so aside from my most recent save right near the game's ending, everything else was from hours earlier. These are not game-breaking by any means, but the game is lacking a few basic gaming creature comforts.Neo Cab's interactions still manage to be interesting and feel important despite these issues. While I didn't feel like the decisions I made had a tremendous impact on how the game ended, the experiences I had through the six in-game days that led up to the conclusion felt personalized to how I played. Certain characters that were name-checked never appeared within my game, or plotlines that started up were never finished, but I always had some idea of what I could have done differently to see these things through. The overarching mystery plot isn't so great, and once the credits rolled it felt like certain things I'd done, and the strict budgeting of my limited income, were far less important than the game had made me think they were. But Neo Cab's main appeal is in the side-stories presented by your passengers, and in the relationships that form between them and Lina. Most passengers can be collected multiple times, and stories will play out across several trips. I jumped back into Neo Cab after the credits rolled not to see if I could change the ending, but because I wanted to delve deeper into the lives of the people I had met and try to follow up on the storylines I hadn't seen all the way through in a single playthrough.Neo Cab might suffer from inconsistencies and presentation issues in some places, but as a depiction of a near-future society corrupted by tech fetishization, and an exploration of how humans are adapting to automation and the rise of the gig economy, it's got plenty to say about how important it is that we all look out for one another. This is a forward-thinking game, but the issues it explores are extremely relevant in 2019, which makes for an engaging, stimulating narrative experience, even if the central mystery of your friend's disappearance is not particularly interesting.Info from Gamespot.com
