Back to the Future has remained a steadfast part of pop culture thanks to nods from modern science fiction media such as Stranger Things and Ready Player One. Now you can relive the trilogy and the follow-up animated series for a low price. Back to the Future: The Complete Adventures on Blu-Ray is available on Amazon right now for $22. It's normally $80, so this is a really stellar deal.If you're interested in picking up the collection, you should know that the shipping window is October 25 to November 16. The delay isn't a huge deal if you're buying The Complete Adventures as a gift, though. And to be honest, scoring the trilogy and animated series at this price is probably worth the wait regardless. See at AmazonThe Complete Adventures includes all three live-action films: Back to the Future, Back to the Future Part II, and Back to the Future Part III. While Marty McFly's second and third adventures weren't nearly as compelling as the excellent first movie, they are still worth revisiting. In addition to the films, the collection includes Back to the Future: The Animated Series, which ran for 26 episodes from 1991 to 1992. Fun fact about the animated series: Bill Nye appeared at the end of each episode to tackle experiments as Doc Brown's assistant. Call it a precursor of things to come for the Science Guy.For Back to the Future enthusiasts, The Complete Adventures also includes a 64-page book chronicling the history of the franchise and a bonus disc featuring two hours of interesting behind the scenes content.Info from Gamespot.com

One of 2019's biggest games will soon be open to everyone, but only for a short time. Starting this Friday, October 11, you can jump into Mortal Kombat 11 on PS4 or Xbox One and play for free. The free trial period will run all weekend, ending Monday, October 14. Of course, you'll need PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold for online play, but if you're not subscribed to either, you can still download the trial and access offline content.Haven’t jumped into Kombat yet? Free Trial Weekend comin’ in hot 10/11-14!📂 MK11 Free Trialᴸ 📂 Story Mode (2 Chapters)ᴸ 📂 1v1 & Online 1v1 with Base Rosterᴸ 📂 The Kryptᴸ 📂 Fatality Trainingᴸ 📂 Towers of Time ᴸ 📂 Play as Terminator, Nightwolf, & Shang Tsung pic.twitter.com/2evYeQnO6M — Mortal Kombat 11 (@MortalKombat) October 9, 2019The free trial includes enough content to keep you busy this weekend. You'll be able to play two chapters of Mortal Kombat 11's story mode as well as local and online 1v1 matches with the base roster. You'll also have access to The Krypt, Fatality training, and the Towers of Time mode, the latter of which you'll be able to play as Terminator, Nightwolf, and Shang Tsung. If you like the game, you can grab it for 40% off at the PlayStation and Xbox Stores this weekend, dropping the price of the standard edition to $36 from $60. The Premium edition, which normally sells for $90, will be discounted to $54 and includes the Kombat Pack, adding new playable characters, character skins, and exclusive gear sets. And as usual with these free trial periods, any progress you make will be rolled over into the full game if you purchase it.In GameSpot's Mortal Kombat 11 review, critic Edmond Tran had excellent things to say about the game's deep, yet accessible fighting system, diverse roster of classic characters and interesting new additions, and more. Mortal Kombat 11 earned a 9/10."MK11 isn't just a sequel for series fans and NetherRealm devotees, it's a gateway into the realm of fighting games for anyone who has a passing interest in watching ruthless warriors beat each other silly," he wrote. "Streamlined mechanics keep the act of fighting furiously exciting no matter what your skill level, and comprehensive tutorials encourage you to dig into the nitty-gritty. There's a diverse roster of interesting characters and playstyles, and the story mode is an entertaining romp. The randomization of Krypt rewards and the odd issue with the game's always-online nature can occasionally chip away at your patience, but Mortal Kombat 11 absolutely hits where it matters."Info from Gamespot.com

Pokemon Sword and Shield's 24-hour livestream last week gave us our first glimpse at what many assumed was a Galarian form of Ponyta, and sure enough, that is indeed the case. The Pokemon Company has now officially revealed Galarian Ponyta, sharing a trailer and some new details about the latest regional variant premiering in the upcoming Nintendo Switch games.Whereas the recently revealed Sirfetch'd is exclusive to Pokemon Sword, Galarian Ponyta can only be found in Pokemon Shield. Unlike a standard Ponyta, it has a sparkling purple mane and a small horn on its head, much like a unicorn. It's also a Psychic-type, rather than Fairy as previously assumed.🚨 New Pokémon Discovered! 🚨Meet Galarian Ponyta, the Unique Horn Pokémon! It is said that they were exposed to the overflowing life energy of the forest over many generations, and this is why their appearance became unique in this region."Galarian Ponyta has two possible Abilities. The first is Run Away, which guarantees you'll be able to flee wild battles. The second is a new Ability called Pastel Veil; this prevents Galarian Ponyta and its ally in a double battle from becoming poisoned. Svengoolie is a cultural icon in the Chicagoland area. The TV show personality hosts a weekly series where he introduces horror movies, makes numerous puns, gets rubber chickens thrown at him, does song parodies. But how will this character work within the context of the DC comic book universe? Pretty easily, it seems.Coming to DC Comics on October 16, Svengoolie will meet the DC Universe in a special two-page back-up story for all DC books, running for four weeks. During New York Comic-Con, GameSpot spoke to DC Comics co-publisher Dan Didio and Svengoolie himself about the upcoming story, which you can check out a preview of below."He seems like a natural fit," Didio told GameSpot. "I mean, just the shear costume alone? No. I think Svengoolie is the hero that DC wanted, and DC needed. Is that the best way to say it? And for us, it was something that we thought there was a lot of similarities, and the audience that Svengoolie has on MeTV, and the comics that we create. It seemed like a natural fit. DC has a long history of horror comics and horror stories, and so again, we found a way to blend that aspect of what they brought to the show and mix it nicely with our super-heroes. Svengoolie with the Justice League is something that I felt was a fun mash-up that I think came together even better than we expected."There are a lot of things Svengoolie is known for, and it's not just the costume. The MeTV host is known for his quirky, sometimes cringy sense of humor, and that's something the duo are bringing to this back-up story. "I think there's a lot of puns, a lot of the kind of jokes that you expect," explained Svengoolie. "You'll notice things that you see on the show [are] also happening in the comic. And, I don't want to give too much away, but let me just say you're talking about rubber chickens? They play a very big part in it."As for the classic Svengoolie line "Berwyn"--a Chicago suburb that's mentioned on almost every episode of the TV show--fans won't be disappointed. "There's a lot of classic jokes in there from things that you would see on the show," continued Didio. "That's the fun of it because I really do think it does capture the spirit of the show within each of the pages there. There's a good Svengoolie joke in every segment."You can check out Svengoolie teaming up with the Justice League beginning on October 16 in the back of DC comic books. Info from Gamespot.com

After much speculation, it was announced in August that a fourth movie in the Matrix series is happening, with Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss set to return to their roles of The Matrix 4. It has now been announced that Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has also joined the cast.As reported by Variety, Abdul-Mateen II will play a major role in the movie. The site states that he was one of several actors that met with director Lana Wachowski over the past week. Abdul-Mateen II played Black Manta in Aquaman, and also appeared in the horror hit Us and the latest season of Black Mirror. The first reports of a new Matrix movie began in 2017, with Ready Player One's Zak Penn writing the script. Penn said the movie would expand the Matrix universe and not reboot it, and Michael B. Jordan was in talks to star. There were conflicting reports that the relaunch had been cancelled in May this year, before it was officially confirmed in August. Although The Matrix 4 does not yet have a confirmed release date, it is expected to start shooting in early 2020.The first Matrix movie brought in $463,517,383 worldwide, and it spawned two sequels: 2003's Matrix Reloaded--grossing $742,128,461 worldwide--and Matrix Revolutions--taking in $427,343,298 worldwide. The franchise has earned more than $1.6 billion in total.2019 marks the 20th anniversary of The Matrix, and while the first movie still holds up, the sequels--primarily Revolutions--are still as problematic as you remember. One of the greatest working directors in Hollywood is none other than Martin Scorsese. Throughout his career, he has movies like Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, and the upcoming Netflix original The Irishman under his belt. And when it comes to movies based on comics, you wouldn't expect to see Scorsese's name attached, but he almost had a hand in working on Joker.Originally, Scorsese was involved with Joker, according to The Hollywood Reporter. While one source claims he was eyeing to direct, a rep for the director says that wasn't the case, and he only considered producing the Todd Phillips movie. Scorsese was reportedly brought on by Warner Bros. because they needed a producer based out of New York. However, Scorsese supposedly cut ties entirely with Joker to work on The Irishman, his upcoming crime drama starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci, which lands on Netflix on November 27. That will get many wondering how Scorsese's hand would have guided Joker, which made over $90 million its first three days in theaters. Joker Coverage Does Joker Have A Post-Credits Scene? Joker Movie: 17 Easter Eggs And References You Might Have Missed Joker Review: The Antihero Comic Book Movies Need Joker Spoiler Review & Breakdown Why Joker Feels Dangerous Joker may be a bit polarizing with critics, but GameSpot's Mike Rougeau gave Joker 10/10 in his review, saying, "Joker succeeds, without equivocation, because it transforms the villain into the populist antihero we need him to be now. Joker wears its influences on its maroon sleeves, but it also carves its own gashes through the blood-soaked landscape of contemporary comic book movies, offering something that, despite teetering on the shoulders of 80 years of history, is wonderfully fresh, dangerously exciting, undeniably entertaining, and rock-solid in its artistry."Director Todd Phillips has been very open about the movie, including how Joker is a "real movie," under the guise of a comic book movie. He also clarified earlier statements about a Joker sequel, which the director says won't happen and previous reports were misconstrued. Joker is in theaters now.Info from Gamespot.com

Following an incident in which Blizzard banned a professional Hearthstone player for expressing solidarity with Hong Kong protests, the company faced sharp criticism from fans. The controversy has only grown since then, and now the company’s critics include competing game companies, sitting US Senators, and even some employees of the company itself.Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) tweeted a criticism of the move, saying China is "using access to market as leverage to crush free speech globally." Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) had even sharper words, saying that Blizzard is "willing to humiliate itself to please the Chinese Communist Party. No American company should censor calls for freedom to make a quick buck."Recognize what’s happening here. People who don’t live in #China must either self censor or face dismissal & suspensions. China using access to market as leverage to crush free speech globally. Implications of this will be felt long after everyone in U.S. politics today is gone. https://t.co/Cx3tkWc7r6 — Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) October 8, 2019Blizzard shows it is willing to humiliate itself to please the Chinese Communist Party. No American company should censor calls for freedom to make a quick buck. https://t.co/rJBeXUiwYS — Ron Wyden (@RonWyden) October 8, 2019Meanwhile, the incident has proven a PR misstep as well, giving an opportunity for competing developers to suggest they wouldn’t make the same mistake. Epic issued a statement stressing its support for players to speak their mind."Epic supports everyone’s right to express their views on politics and human rights," the company told The Verge. "We wouldn’t ban or punish a Fortnite player or content creator for speaking on these topics."Workers at Epic aren’t the only ones dissatisfied with the move, though. It appears that Blizzard has conscientious dissenters in its own company. Plaques outside the company's headquarters expressing the values "Think Globally" and "Every Voice Matters" have been covered with paper. Rock Paper Shotgun reports that some employees gathered for an umbrella protest in solidarity with the Hong Kong protesters. The Daily Beast spoke with some employees, who said the gathering ranged from 12-30 people throughout the day."The action Blizzard took against the player was pretty appalling but not surprising," one Blizzard employee said. "Blizzard makes a lot of money in China, but now the company is in this awkward position where we can't abide by our values."Not everyone at Blizzard agrees with what happened. Both the "Think Globally" and "Every Voice Matters" values have been covered up by incensed employees this morning. pic.twitter.com/I7nAYUes6Q — Kevin Hovdestad (@lackofrealism) October 8, 2019Blizzard has also seen at least one high-profile departure from its own competitive events. Brian Kibler, a Hearthstone streamer who has also become a regular caster and event host, issued a statement on the ruling. He said he understands why Blizzard had to take some action against using its platform to make political statements, but that this one seems unnecessarily harsh and heavy-handed."That kind of appeasement is simply not something I can in good conscience be associated with," Kibler said. "When I learned about the ruling, I reached out to Blizzard and informed them that I no longer feel comfortable casting the Grandmasters finals at BlizzCon. I will not be a smiling face on camera that tacitly endorses this decision. Unless something changes, I will have no involvement in Grandmasters moving forward."The situation began when the professional player Ng Wai Chung aka "Blitzchung" showed his support for Hong Kong protests during a post-match interview. Blizzard banned Chung from competitive events for one year and rescinded his $10,000 in winnings, citing a rule against any action that "brings you into public disrepute, offends a portion or group of the public, or otherwise damages Blizzard's image." The Hearthstone subreddit quickly populated with several threads full of players saying they had or planned to quit playing the game. A boycottblizzard hashtag also trended on Twitter.Chung himself told AFP the unrest in his home city sometimes distracted him from the competition, and he has no regrets about speaking out."I sacrificed time hanging out with my friends and studying because of this competition. Even though it seemed that I had wasted four years of time, I have something more important in my heart--if we lose the movement, Hong Kong will end forever."BlizzCon 2019 is beginning on November 1, where Blizzard may need to address this controversy in person.Info from Gamespot.com

Rockstar is launching Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC in November, and now the company has announced some of the extra content that's being added to the story mode. In addition to the improved graphics, there is a lot of new content coming to the PC version, which might be good news for PC players who had to wait a long time to play Rockstar's celebrated open-world western. The new content includes new bounty hunter missions, more gang hideouts, and new treasure maps. Rockstar is also adding more weapons, including the Evans Repeater and High Roller Revolver that were previously only available in Red Dead Online. There are also more trinkets to collect that give players special bonuses like permanent increases for health bar refill speed and horse bonding experience. There is also a brand-new mission, "To The Ends of the Earth," that players can complete to earn a "range of rewards."It appears Rockstar might be yet again commenting on politics with one of the bounty hunter missions. One of the missions involves finding a bad guy named "Bart Cavanaugh" and either taking him dead or alive. Considering The Last of Us Part II will be split between two discs, game director Neil Druckmann has spoken a little bit more about the graphical fidelity Naughty Dog is hoping to achieve when the post-apocalyptic sequel arrives in February 2020.In an interview with the PlayStation blog, Druckmann confirmed that TLOU2 will have "much wider environments" thanks to the PlayStation 4's power. Druckmann compared TLOU2 to both The Last of Us and previous Uncharted games--like Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy--in order to hammer home just how much more "tense" the sequel is."As you saw with Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy, we're experimenting with much larger layouts," Druckmann said. “We're going to do that with [The Last of Us Part II], and find ways to use that to mirror the story."Druckmann admitted that The Last of Us hit the limits of the PlayStation 3's computational power when it launched toward the tail-end of that console generation, and it seems TLOU2 will do the same. "Now we're able to have much wider environments, sequences with a horde of infected, several squads of enemies looking for you in big spaces." Just be sure you clear out enough space on your machine's hard drive for the new game--175 GB is no joke.Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare PC SpecsMinimum RequirementsOperating System: Windows 7 64-bit (SP1) or Windows 10 64-bitProcessor: Intel Core i3-4340 or AMD FX-6300Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon HD 7950 – DirectX 12.0 compatible systemMemory: 8GB RAMStorage: 175 GB available hard drive spaceInternet: Broadband Internet connectionRecommended RequirementsOperating System: Windows 10 64-bit latest updateProcessor: Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD Ryzen R5 1600XVideo: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon R9 390 / AMD Radeon RX 580 – DirectX 12.0 compatible systemMemory: 12 GB RAMStorage: 175 GB available hard drive spaceInternet: Broadband Internet connectionPrior to release, we've played through a few of Modern Warfare's multiplayer modes, including Ground War, Gunfight, and Cyber Attack. There are no major adjustments to the overall Call of Duty formula in any of these game types, but small tweaks--such as movement, weapon feedback, and adaptive loadouts--do make some of these multiplayer modes a joy to play. Both Realism and NVG matches are welcome additions too, if for no other reason than their rulesets.Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a soft reboot for the series, utilizing familiar characters from the previous three Modern Warfare games but telling a story that's disconnected from the continuity. Developer Infinity Ward intends for the game to be hyper-realistic, depicting the horrifying tragedy of modern-day warfare--a statement that seemingly goes against the inclusion of white phosphorus in multiplayer as a kill streak reward, which has sparked controversy. During the game's open beta, it was revealed that Modern Warfare features cross-save support, allowing you to take your campaign and multiplayer progress with you between Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
