Here's some news to brighten up your Monday: Amazon is offering some killer discounts on a wide range of games for PS4 and Xbox One right now, as well as some Switch and PC deals. From new releases like Borderlands 3 and Control to games from earlier this year, like Resident Evil 2 and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, there are a ton of great games available at some of the lowest prices we've seen. With these deals, Amazon is likely price-matching Target, as the latter retailer is once again offering its 25% off with same-day pickup deal all week long. While you'll need to drive to your local Target to take advantage of that offer, you can find most of the same deals at Amazon with free one- or two-day shipping included. Because it's Amazon we're talking about, there's no telling how long these discounts will be available, so don't wait too long if you see anything on your wishlist. Some of the best deals include Remedy's new mind-bending thriller, Control, which is down to $37.49, and Gearbox Software's latest loot-shooter, Borderlands 3, which is already on sale for $45 (Xbox One only). If you're interested in the Super Deluxe Edition of Borderlands 3, which includes the Season Pass, bonus content, and a steelbook case, it's down to $75 from $100 on both PS4 and Xbox One. You'll also find more of 2019's biggest releases for cheap, including Days Gone for $30, Resident Evil 2 for $28.49, Devil May Cry 5 for $26.24, and Mortal Kombat 11 for $31.87.Unfortunately, pickings are slim on the Switch side of things (the Target sale focuses on PS4 and Xbox One titles), but you can snag a few upcoming Switch games at a nice price, including Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition for $41.88 (out tomorrow), the Resident Evil Triple Pack for $50 (out October 29), and Just Dance 2020 for $33.84 (out November 5). The nice thing about Amazon pre-orders is that if the price drops even lower between now and when the item ships, you'll only be charged the cheapest price that's appeared on Amazon. There's also an interesting deal available for PC gamers, particularly those interested in streaming. Amazon is offering a bundle with the Blue Condenser Microphone in Cool Grey and Assassin's Creed Origins for $87.29, down from $140. The microphone normally costs around $130 on its own, so this is an excellent deal if you're looking to get into Twitch streaming, podcasting, or anything else where you'll need good audio. There are countless deals available right now, but you can check out our picks for the best deals below. You can also check out all the deals available at Target and Amazon. Please note that many of the below prices will be displayed during checkout. When looking at a product listing, you'll see a tiny message under the price reflecting the additional discount. Due to the ever-fluctuating nature of Amazon's prices, the below discounts are subject to change without notice.Best gaming deals at AmazonPS4:Anthem -- $10Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition -- $41.88Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night -- $22.50Borderlands 3: Super Deluxe Edition -- $75Control -- $37.49Dark Pictures: Man of Medan -- $18.74Dark Souls Remastered -- $15Days Gone -- $30Devil May Cry 5 -- $29.62Dragon Quest Builders 2 -- $37.49FIFA 20 -- $45Hitman 2 -- $17.24Infamous: Second Son -- $11.17Kingdom Hearts III-- $25Madden NFL 20 -- $30Mega Man 11 -- $11Monster Hunter World -- $15Mortal Kombat 11 -- $31.87NBA 2K20 -- $40.49Resident Evil 2 -- $28.49Sega Genesis Classics -- $15Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice -- $30Shadow of the Colossus -- $14.39Shenmue I & II -- $18Sonic Mania Plus -- $20.62Spyro Reignited Trilogy -- $21.72Subnautica -- $17.62Team Sonic Racing -- $27.37Uncharted: The Lost Legacy -- $14.92World War Z -- $22.49Yakuza 0 -- $10.87Xbox One:Anthem -- $10Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night -- $22.50Borderlands 3 -- $45Borderlands 3: Super Deluxe Edition -- $75Control -- $37.49Dark Pictures: Man of Medan -- $18.74Dark Souls Remastered -- $15Devil May Cry 5 -- $26.24Devil May Cry HD Collection -- $12Doom -- $10.87FIFA 20 -- $45Gears 5 -- $37.49Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice -- $20.39Hitman 2 -- $17.24Kingdom Hearts III -- $25Madden NFL 20 -- $30Metro Exodus: Day One Edition -- $19.87Monster Hunter World -- $15Mortal Kombat 11 -- $27.74NBA 2K20 -- $39.74Resident Evil 2 -- $28.49Samurai Shodown -- $30Tales of Vesperia -- $22.49Team Sonic Racing -- $30Nintendo Switch:Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition -- $41.88Civilization VI -- $28.20Just Dance 2020-- $33.84Mortal Kombat 11 -- $38Resident Evil Triple Pack -- $50Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission -- $30.57Tales of Vesperia -- $30Trine Ultimate Edition Collection -- $41.88NBA 2K20 -- $45PC:Anthem -- $10Assassin's Creed Origins + Blue Condenser Microphone (Streamer Bundle) -- $82.18Info from Gamespot.com

The hugely successful DC movie Joker maintained its hold on the US box office Top 10 this weekend. The film made a highly impressive $55 million on its second weekend to bring its domestic total to $192.7 million, giving it the largest ever October second weekend gross. Worldwide, Joker has made $543.9 million and already stands as the ninth biggest DC movie of all time.Unsurprisingly, there was something of a gap between Joker and its nearest box office rival. The new animated movie of The Addams Family entered the chart at No. 2, with an estimated weekend gross of $30.2 million. However, as Box Office Mojo states, this was in line with estimates, and the movie could continue to do well with its target younger audience as we approach Halloween. The same can't be said for Gemini Man. The Will Smith-starring sci-fi action thriller could only make No. 3, with an estimated gross of $20.5 million. Internationally, Gemini Man made an additional $39 million, but given the reported production budget of the Ang Lee-directed movie was $138 million, this was a very disappointing result. The animated movie Abominable fell to No.4 in its third week, while the TV spin-off Downton Abbey slipped to No.5. The latter in particular has been a big success--it has a production budget of just $20 million, but has made over $152 million worldwide so far. In the bottom half of the Top 10, Hustlers, Judy, and It: Chapter 2 dropped to No. 6, 7, and 8 respectively. The week's third new entry, the comedy Jexi, made its debut at No. 9, with an estimated $3.1 million gross.Top 10 Films in the US for the weekend of October 11 -October 13 (via Box Office Mojo):Joker $55,000,000The Addams Family $30,298,000Gemini Man $20,500,000Abominable $6,170,000Downton Abbey $4,900,000Hustlers $3,850,00Judy $3,255,353It: Chapter Two $3,225,000Jexi $3,100,000Ad Astra $1,947,000Info from Gamespot.com

Another Overwatch seasonal event is scary-close. Blizzard has announced that Halloween Terror, its yearly October event filled with spooky skins and events, is coming on October 15.The teaser didn't give much information beyond the date, though it did give us a cute look at what Zenyatta apparently does when no one's looking. Past Halloween Terror events have included tons of new seasonal skins, a limited-time loot box bundle to collect them, and the continuing story of Dr. Junkenstein. Last year introduced Sombra as the Bride of Junkenstein.Be reborn. ðŸ™Overwatch Halloween Terror 2019 begins October 15. 🎃 👻 pic.twitter.com/3v5UvAr2PY — Overwatch (@PlayOverwatch) October 14, 2019All of this will come right alongside the launch of the Nintendo Switch version of the game, which we recently got hands-on time with. Alessandro Fillari wrote that it's "a great way for players, new and lapsed alike, to revisit the game in a more fresh and laid back way."The event may be overshadowed, though, by another incident from outside Overwatch entirely. After Blizzard made the controversial decision to punish a Hearthstone player after expressing his views on unrest in Hong Kong, some fans were calling to boycott Blizzard entirely. Overwatch fans rallied to help by attempting to turn Mei, the game's only Chinese character, into a symbol of the boycott. Blizzard has since rescinded most of the punishment.Info from Gamespot.com

A new trailer for Fight or Fright, Apex Legends' first Season 3: Meltdown limited-time event, has been released. In Fight or Fright, players will temporarily return of Kings Canyon to battle it out in a brand-new mode and earn an assortment of Halloween-themed skins. There might be a hint or two to the identity of a new playable character as well. The trailer begins with Wraith and Pathfinder under fire while in Kings Canyon. Seeing a portal, Pathfinder tries to escape into it, jumping through before Wraith can fully warn him that the portal doesn't belong to her. Pathfinder ends up in a nightmarish version of Kings Canyon, one overseen by a shadow-like entity. Pathfinder teams up with the Halloween versions of his fellow Legends to escape, but the foes they each defeat rise up as living shadows that continue to hunt the Legends down. The trailer ends with Pathfinder ultimately finding his way back to the portal and returning to the normal Kings Canyon. What Pathfinder stumbled into is Shadowfall, the new mode tied to Fight or Fright. For a limited-time, you'll be able to drop in this solo mode that takes place in the nightmare Kings Canyon. If you're killed, your deathbox will spawn killer spiders and you'll drop onto the map again as a member of the Shadow Squad--beings with enhanced speed and melee damage. Your goal is to survive until there are only 10 players left, and then work together to flee to the dropship. If you die and return as a member of the Shadow Squad, you can still win by working with your fellow shadows to kill off the remaining survivors before they can escape to the dropship.During the event, Halloween-themed items will be available for you to unlock as well. Most are skins which--as seen in the trailer--dress up the Legends in Halloween costumes. You can unlock a cowboy costume for Mirage, for instance, or a spooky scarecrow outfit for Bloodhound. If you happen to unlock all of the new epic and legendary cosmetics, you'll be rewarded with Lifeline's heirloom.Though it's not confirmed, the Fight or Fright trailer may also further tease Apex Legends' twelfth playable character. The shadow-like entity that is overseeing Shadowfall has a similar outline to Revenant--a character first seen in Season 3: Meltdown's launch trailer, revealed in further detail via a leaked screenshot alongside new character Crypto, and then officially teased in a tweet by Respawn level designer Alex Graner. Revenant's rumored ultimate ability is Death Recall, allowing them to use a totem to resuscitate squadmates without the need to retrieve their respawn banner--which may explain how the overseer is able to keep the Legends from fully dying in Shadowfall.Fight or Fright will continue from October 15 to November 5.Info from Gamespot.com

It's been more than 24 hours since a black hole appeared in Fortnite and the game seemingly deleted itself as part of Season 10's "The End" event, and players are not quite sure what's going on. Those who try to log in are greeted by the black hole, with no way to jump into matches or view your skins and V-Bucks (although Sony and Nintendo assure those are safe). Rumors have been circulating that this series of events would lead to the game being rebranded as Fortnite: Chapter 2, and sure enough, a leaked trailer seems to confirm this, showing off a new map, vehicle, and more. The trailer, which you can see for yourself below, shows an overview of the new content and mechanics apparently coming to Fortnite next season. Rather than picking up as Season 11, the new season is dubbed Chapter 2, Season 1, and it makes some significant changes.First, it appears the game will be set on an entirely new map, as many have speculated, and there are a load of new skins to earn. The trailer also touts there are new ways to level up, showing one player upgrading different medals they've earned by completing in-game actions, such as opening chests, eliminating opponents, or harvesting materials. On top of that, it appears a new vehicle is on the way. Toward the end of the trailer, we can see a group of players shooting it out on speed boats, and at one point a player can be seen diving into the river, suggesting you'll now be able to swim. The video closes out with a clip of one player carrying another on their shoulders across a beach, which may mean you'll have a new way of rescuing downed allies.None of this has been confirmed as of yet by Epic. The developer has been conspicuously silent on the status of Fortnite following The End event. The game's official Twitter account went dark, and the official Fortnite website currently displays a livestream of the mysterious black hole, so it's unclear when the next season of the game will begin. Based on the trailer, however, it looks like there are a lot of big changes in store for the new season. The eighth and final season of Arrow, the show that launched The CW's superhero universe, premieres Tuesday. With it comes not only the beginning of the end for Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and his team of vigilantes, but the first steps toward the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event. To do that, Arrow is revisiting its own past, as familiar faces reenter the picture. It was previously revealed that among the characters returning for the Season 8 premiere were Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell), and Moira Queen (Susanna Thompson), none of whom have regularly appeared on the show in some time. In fact, the entire episode is structured in a way to take the audience back in time eight years to the show's first episode. "I feel like this episode specifically is a love letter to the pilot and to the series," executive producer Beth Schwartz explained to GameSpot and a small group of press after the screening. In revisiting characters like Moira, Malcolm, and Tommy, Schwartz said the series can explore "what the character Oliver Queen/Green Arrow has meant to all of the other characters in the show and how he has affected everyone's life."And while it's unclear how these appearances are happening--the Season 7 finale saw the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) calling on Oliver to leave Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and help prevent the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths--they won't be the only familiar faces in Season 8. It was previously announced that Willa Holland would reprise her role as Thea Queen, while Colton Haynes revealed on Twitter he would appear as Roy Harper. They, along with even more returning characters, will help Oliver and the fans of Arrow get a sense of closure in the home stretch of episodes."The season is pretty much just our series' greatest hits as well as a build-up to [Crisis on Infinite Earths]," Schwartz concluded.Arrow airs Tuesdays on The CW.Info from Gamespot.com

Little Town Hero is the next RPG from Game Freak, the studio that brought us the massive Pokemon series. This game is a little smaller in scope, though, as you may expect from the little town name. Game director Masao Taya says he wanted to make it a smaller, more digestible role-playing game for adults who are pressed for time."Despite my love for this genre, I haven't really been playing turn-based RPGs other than Pokémon as of late," Taya told Nintendo Life. "Of course, becoming an adult has reduced the amount of time I can devote to games, but I believe that's not all. RPGs are really time-consuming, and with how big the maps are, you can easily get lost and stuck in areas where you only get to battle weak opponents. That was a large part of the reason that I stopped playing as much."So with Little Town Hero, we've been careful not to prepare maps that are infinitely huge, or maps filled with opponents that can defeated just by spamming the attack button. Instead, we've aimed for an interesting battle system that really makes you consider how to go about defeating your enemy, each and every time."Taya says that Little Town Hero can vary based on how quickly players connect with its unique battle system. If you catch on quickly, it will be 10-12 hours. If not, it might be more around 15-20.That's still a good bit shorter than a lot of other RPGs. Pokemon games tend to be 20-30 for the main campaign, and much more if you aim to catch 'em all. Persona 5 is well over 100 hours.Little Town Hero releases on October 16 on the Nintendo Switch eshop. Game Freak is also preparing to put out its next main Pokemon games, Sword and Shield, in November.Info from Gamespot.com

Regigigas is finally making its debut in Pokemon Go next month, but before it arrives in EX Raids, you'll have another chance to catch the other three Legendary titans. Regirock, Regice, and Registeel are returning to standard Raids for a limited time beginning November 1, and this time around, you'll also have a chance of encountering their Shiny forms. The three Legendary Pokemon will appear in five-star Raids until 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET on November 4, giving you only a couple of days to capture them. The three titans are known for their high defense stats, so to help you take them on, Pokemon that are effective against the Legendaries will appear more frequently in the game.In particular, Geodude, Magnemite, Swinub, Aron, and Spheal will spawn more frequently in the wild. Meanwhile, Aerodactyl, Shuckle, Sneasel, Skarmory, Snorunt, and Beldum will be more likely to hatch from eggs, and incubators will be twice as effective as normal during that three-day span, allowing you to hatch eggs more quickly. You can read more about the titans' return on the Pokemon Go website. As previously mentioned, the Legendary Regigigas will appear for the first time in EX Raids later in the month, but if you don't want to wait until then, you'll have the option to encounter it early by purchasing an event ticket. This will give you access to a Special Research story event called "A Colossal Discovery." The event takes place on November 2 from 11 AM to 7 PM local time and culminates in an encounter with Regigigas.Unlike other in-game items in Pokemon Go, however, the event ticket cannot be purchased with Poke Coins--you'll need to shell out $8 USD if you're thinking of picking one up. This is the first time Pokemon Go has locked events behind a paywall; previous Special Research questlines were available for free to all players. If you don't choose to get a ticket, you can still encounter Regigigas in EX Raids later in November, but you'll need to receive an invitation to participate in those battles. In the meantime, Pokemon Go's Halloween 2019 event kicks off this Thursday, October 17. The Halo Infinite development team has lost another person in a leadership role, but 343 Industries is urging fans not to worry. Mary Olson, who was the lead producer of Halo Infinite's campaign, has departed 343 Industries to join the nearby Seattle studio Midwinter Entertainment.Olson's departure from the Halo Infinite team caused some fans to worry that the Xbox One and PC game might be in trouble. However, 343 community manager John 'Unyshek' Junyszek said in a Reddit post that there is "no creative dilemma" at the studio, and that Olson's departure is not out of the ordinary for a game closing in on its release date.Fans were worried, it seems, because Olson was just the latest high-level developer to leave the Halo Infinite team. Creative director Tim Longo left in August, and at the time, Olson was named as his replacement of sorts to help oversee Halo Infinite's campaign.Unyshek wrote on Reddit that Olson's position as lead producer for the campaign was to "help drive the game to its completion" before the Holiday 2020 release date. Longo, meanwhile, was creative director for the entire game--spanning multiplayer and campaign.Unyshek spoke out on Reddit to clarify this and assure fans that 343 is still "working hard to make sure we can execute on [Halo Infinite's] vision.""Unfortunately the thread's title saying, 'He was replaced with Mary Olson and she also left,' is far from accurate," Unyshek said. "It implies that Mary took over creative control of the entire game, didn't like what she saw, and then decided to leave. If that's what actually happened, I could totally understand getting worried--but that isn't the case, as she was a Lead Producer and not a new Creative Director. There is no creative dilemma inside the studio, and there's no writing on the walls."It is not clear who, if anyone, will take over for Olson in overseeing Halo Infinite's campaign from now until release next year. The campaign in Halo 5: Guardians was regarded by some to be weak; even 343 boss Bonnie Ross acknowledged that Halo 5's story missed the mark in some ways. This is no doubt contributing to fans' worries about Halo Infinite's story.Whatever the case, Unyshek said it is foolish to presume that Halo Infinite's story will be bad because two major developers left. "There will undoubtedly be things you like and dislike about every game," he said. "There will be times this happens because of people leave and times when this happens because people stay. That said, preparing to pin the blame on people leaving/staying a year out from launch probably isn't the best take."No game is perfect, but we'll certainly do our best."Halo Infinite releases in Holiday 2020 as a launch title for Project Scarlett. The game will also be available on PC and Xbox One. Info from Gamespot.com

When the TV version of The Purge arrived on USA, it gave a new kind of insight into the film franchise about what happens when all crime becomes legal for 12 hours. Instead of focusing on a small group of people trying to survive, Season 1 of The Purge was able to follow multiple sets of characters through a series of intertwining stories. Viewers were able to see Purge night through the eyes of the rich and poor, those who want to Purge and those who don't.Now, with the second season of the show, The Purge is again breaking new ground. For the first time in the franchise's six-year history, viewers will get to explore what life is like during the rest of the year. Season 2 of The Purge kicks off at the end of a Purge night, as society comes out of hiding once again. It's an idea that came from franchise creator James DeMonaco and one that executive producers Krystal Ziv and James Roland were excited to tackle. "I was on Season 1, and I know after that James Demonaco was really starting to think about how TV could be a real companion to the movies if it tackled something different and wasn't just on Purge night," Ziv told GameSpot.Roland continued, "When that first idea was kind of floated around to set it in between Purges, everybody kind of leaned forward and went, 'Oh, that's cool. That's really interesting. What would that be like?' And then, of course, the hard job was in 'Well, what does it really look like?' Because it can't just be life as usual. That led into discussions about like, what would the fallout be and I think the core idea was that culture would be kind of tense and overly polite and the social dynamics would be very different for the world that we live in. Because you never know who's going to come after you if you piss them off."What's on display in Season 2 is a fascinating world to take in. While there is the obvious business to take care of--repairing infrastructure and disposing of all the dead bodies--there's also the psychological fallout that this new group of characters introduced will be going through. Once again, they will seemingly be unconnected at first; however, anyone who saw the first season of The Purge will know how quickly that can change.Perhaps the most intriguing of the new characters, though, is a college student named Ben (Joel Allen), who goes out during Purge night to complete a scavenger hunt, only to find himself nearly killed in the process. While the producers admit Ben was a late addition to Season 2's story, there's no denying how important a piece of the Purge universe he will become in Season 2."This is a character that would have grown up in a world where the Purge was commonplace--it would have started when he was four or five, By the time you get really forming memories, the Purge was there. What does that do?" Roland said. "Similarly, young children today are doing these drills for school students. That's a part of their lives. You know, they're not going to know any different. That then it opens up this whole conversation of like, really what the does the Purge do to your psyche? Then that also trickled into all the other storylines."Seeing what exposure to Purge night does to a character like Ben is something that's been missing from the franchise. Views have seen what happens when the violence comes to you and you simply try to survive it. In defending himself against the violence, though, Ben is a character that will be haunted by the actions of that night as the rest of the world moves on. "He's our representative of how violence begets violence in the Purge universe," Ziv teased at New York Comic-Con [via EW].What keeps the TV version of the Purge relevant is that it explores characters in an in-depth way that the movies cannot afford to. By the end of Season 1, it was hard not to care about the survival of the group introduced. While Season 2 may not have those exact stakes, given that it's not set during a proper Purge, it is going to tell the exact kind of story this franchise needs. Fans have been asking for years what life is like under the rule of the New Founding Fathers of America on every night other than the Purge. The new Breaking Bad movie, El Camino, tells the story of what happened to Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) in the immediate aftermath of the show. Now, writer and director Vince Gilligan has revealed two alternate endings that would have wrapped things up quite differently.MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR EL CAMINO FOLLOW BELOW THE IMAGE!El Camino ends with Jesse successfully and murderously raising enough money to pay Ed (Robert Forster) for a one-way ticket to a new life in Alaska. Gilligan told Entertainment Weekly that one alternate idea he had was for Jesse to get caught by the police."I thought it was up to the audience to figure out how Jesse got away, but that it was enough to see him driving off into the night victorious," Gilligan said. "But then as the years started to pass, I found myself wondering at idle moments, 'How exactly did he get away? Because that's no easy feat! And what if he didn't get away? What if he got busted right around the next corner?'"Gilligan's girlfriend, Holly Rice, told him that was a bad idea. "You cannot have Jesse Pinkman get busted at the end of this thing. You cannot go that route,'" Gilligan recalls Rice telling him. "And I said, 'Okay. All right, honey.'"As for the other El Camino alternate ending, Paul said Gilligan thought about having Jesse read his letter to Brock as part of a voiceover that would end the movie. Paul said he was "really crushed" that this idea was scrapped. In the actual ending, Jesse hands the letter to Ed to deliver to Brock. It's strongly suggested that the letter would have been Jesse's way of trying to explain to Brock about all of the horrible things that happened in his young life that Jesse was in part responsible for."That letter to Brock was the very first thing that Vince wrote when writing this script," Paul said. "Once he completed that letter, he started the script. Originally the voiceover of that letter was how the movie ended--just driving through Alaska and you could hear what was inside of that letter…. It's heartbreaking, it's beautiful, just honest. But Vince just thought, 'You know what? Maybe it's best left unknown.' And we don't need it. He was right. But I love knowing what was in the letter."Paul said he is sworn to secrecy, so he doesn't ever plan to reveal the contents of the letter. "But… [Jesse] just could not be more open and honest. It's just really him saying, 'I'm sorry,' and that's it," he said. With El Camino now available on Netflix, what will Gilligan make next? After Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and El Camino, Gilligan recently explained that he wants to make an entirely new show. Info from Gamespot.com
