Though Game Freak hasn't revealed any specific window for how long it will likely take to complete the campaign in Pokemon Sword / Shield, it looks like the upcoming game will have about as much content as previous titles in the franchise. Of course, since different generations have taken wildly different times to complete, that's still a fairly large ballpark."In terms of the volume or the amount of content in the main adventure, [Sword / Shield is] comparable to other Pokemon generations that we've played," Pokemon Sword / Shield director Shigeru Ohmori said, according to Game Informer. "I think there's a lot of interesting activities that, for example, completing the Pokedex or really going out into the Wild Area and engaging with those mechanics, that'll add a lot of replay value for players who are looking to get really hardcore into that.""I feel like a lot of players these days will typically burn through content and try to go to the ending as fast as they can," Pokemon Sword / Shield producer Junichi Masuda added. When looking at previous Pokemon games, their campaign's run the gamut of 26-41 hours of content, with Gen I as the low outlier and Gen IV as the high one. Comparatively, the stories in Gen II, III, V, VI, and VII are all in the 30-35 hour range--so it's probable that's where Gen VIII will ultimately end up as well. One of the biggest new features in Pokemon Sword / Shield is the Wild Area, an open-world expanse where Pokemon roam about in the overworld--just like they do in Let's Go, Pikachu / Let's Go, Eevee. This area doesn't work like the routes seen in previous Pokemon games. In the Wild Area, Pokemon don't naturally scale to your adventure, so when you're just starting out, you may run into wild Pokemon that are far too strong for you to take on, forcing you to be sneaky. You can also interact with other players while in the Wild Area, allowing you to easily find other trainers to battle against or trade with.Pokemon Sword / Shield is scheduled to release for Nintendo Switch on November 15. This December, the Skywalker saga comes to a close with Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, but that doesn't mean it's the end of the stories about these characters. In the upcoming comic Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren, the series will show, in detail, Ben Solo's transformation into Kylo Ren, departing from Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, and joining forces with Supreme Leader Snoke. This includes his first run-in with the Knights of Ren.Issue #2 of this four-part miniseries comes out in January and features Ben and Luke traveling to an "unknown region" to face the Knights of Ren, according to the solicit for the book. The Rise of Kylo Ren #2. Cover art by Clayton Crain. This is all part of Snoke's plan to turn Ben to the dark side, pretending to be the young Jedi's friend and manipulating him. It seems not only will the issue cover the first time Ben met these knights, but it will also show him joining up with the group as well. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is just hours away, but a last-minute patch is making a major change to the multiplayer options first. Infinity Ward announced that it's releasing an update that will remove all night maps from rotation. The studio didn't state a reason for the change but did say that it will be adding night maps back in as a separate playlist. The update will also remove the minimap from Hardcore modes. We're deploying an update that removes all night maps from rotation. We'll add them back in as a separate playlist at a later time. We're also removing the minimap from all hardcore modes. #ModernWarfare — Infinity Ward (@InfinityWard) October 24, 2019Feedback to day-one patch notes may shed some light on the reason, though. Several users complained that night maps in the beta just fundamentally played differently than others, due to the reliance on night vision and specialized aiming attachments. Several players suggested doing exactly what Infinity Ward just announced: making it a separate playlist entirely. The day one patch notes, much of it addressing beta feedback, can be found below. If you're eagerly anticipating the release of Modern Warfare, you can pre-load now and check out what time it will unlock in your territory. The version 1.10 update introduces Halloween-themed content, difficulty reduction options, various bug fixes, and more.Just in time the spooky season, Code Vein will receive some additions to its character creator, including Halloween-themed color palettes and face paints, as well as new accessories and hair functionality. The update will also change exploration and battle systems, giving you the option to lock the direction of the mini-map and turn off damage screen effects when near death.Code Vein's version 1.10 update also allows you to reduce the difficulty of New Game Plus. Elsewhere, the update addresses various bug issues, such as application errors and enemy movement. In our Code Vein review, we said, "Code Vein adopts the Souls-like formula in its structure, presenting a familiar cycle of progression and basic combat similarities, and there are some interesting ideas here, too, built around the use of various Blood Codes and their distinct Gifts. You can see the fragments of a fantastic game hidden within these systems and its meaty combat feedback, but the mundanity of its enemies and the effect they have on nullifying the combat's enjoyment prevent Code Vein from ever realizing its potential."Full Code Vein Patch NotesAdditional ContentsNew creation accessories, color palettes and face paints, Halloween-themed.New function for hair parts that allows to use as left-right symmetry.UpdatesCharacter CreationCharacter creation data can be available at the camp.Extensions can be made symmetrical.Adjustments to accessory costs.ExplorationAdd option to lock the direction of radar mini-map.Trial of Blood only occurs a second time when the dropped item is picked up.Option to turn off exploration conversation.BattlePop up message appears when the player is afflicted with status effect.Option to turn off damage screen effects when player is about to die.Ichor can be collected from sandbags at the camp.SystemOption to reduce difficulty which has been raised in new game plus.Buddies can be changed at the Mistle. Some item icons are adjusted.Bug FixesFixed application errors on the following conditions: Moving to event scenes with specific Blood Veil; Guarding continuously right after pushing confirm button in front of a closed-door; Rebooting the game on Steam after moving to sleep mode during launching the game.Fixed matching facility while using keywords on Steam.Adjusted battle effects.Adjusted enemy’s movement.Fixed other minor issues.Info from Gamespot.com

While services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu offer up a variety of different genres for their content, there is only one streaming service that specializes in horror, and that's AMC's Shudder. And the service just revealed what's coming out for the month of November. On November 1, there are a couple classic '90s horror movies to check out. First, there's Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight. The film follows a man trapped in a hotel, protecting a vile of ancient blood who is being hunted by a demon (Billy Zane). Directed by Ernest R. Dickerson (The Walking Dead, Dexter), the movie is a feature-length spinoff of the HBO series Tales from the Crypt. Also arriving that day is the very meta Wes Craven's New Nightmare. Starring Heather Langenkamp as herself, the film follows the former Nightmare on Elm Street actress who is haunted by a demon who has taken on Freddy's form. Trying to figure out why a fictional monster from her past acting gig is terrorizing her and her son, she enlists the help of Wes Craven, who is writing the very movie they are starring in. The other must-watch movie of November is Takashi Miike's Audition, which arrives on November 4. Audition follows a widower who has trouble finding new love years after his wife's passing, so his son holds an audition for a fake movie for a lead actress, in hopes the man will move on. However, the woman he becomes obsessed with is a bit deranged. If you've seen the film, then the phrase "tik tik tik tik" brings back some horrific imagery. Below, you'll find everything headed to Shudder for the month of November, with the first of the month launching four titles you'll really want to check out or watch again. Cliff Bleszinski, the creator and designer of Gears of War, nearly had a role in Hideo Kojima's much-anticipated upcoming game Death Stranding. Bleszinski said on Twitter that Kojima asked him to visit the studio to get scanned into the game, but it didn't work out.Bleszinski said on Twitter that he wasn't able to collaborate with Kojima for Death Stranding due in part to how, at the time, he was going through the collapse of his latest game studio, Boss Key Productions."He asked me to come get scanned when I was in Japan but it was as [Boss Key Productions] was nearly over and I was starting my 'lay low' phase and opted out. Kinda regret it," he said.Bleszinski revealed this after God of War director Cory Barlog lamented the fact that he wasn't invited to be a part of Death Stranding with a cameo of his own.All of this news comes immediately after comedian and late night TV host Conan O'Brien revealed that he was scanned into Death Stranding and has a cameo role in the game.Even without Bleszinski and Barlog, Death Stranding is stuffed with celebrity roles and cameos. Bethesda has released a statement in regards to some of the more prominent issues in Fallout 1st--the new subscription-based content update for Fallout 76. Speaking to GameSpot, Bethesda addressed the reported issues individually. In regards to the disappearing scrap issue, Bethesda said, "A small number of players with a large quantity of scrap are experiencing a display issue causing their Scrapbox to appear empty. At this time, we believe this is a User Interface issue and that players have not lost any scrap. Players should still be able to access the scrap for crafting from workbenches. We are actively working to address this issue, both internally and using the data and characters folks from the community have provided us."Players have also expressed concern that their private servers have appeared already looted, but Bethesda clarified that this is most likely not an issue. Instead, private worlds behave like Fallout 76's public worlds do. "When a Fallout 1st member starts a Private World, a dedicated World is launched on an AWS server," Bethesda said. "Players who have seen looted containers upon login may be experiencing the expected behavior upon log out and log in. Loot is instanced for each player in containers. As Fallout 76 players know, if you loot a container on one server, and then log out and log back into another server, the container remains in a looted state for a period of time."Finally, Bethesda admits that allowing friends to join private worlds without gaining permission from the host player is not ideal and should be changed. "Currently, players on your friends list can join your Private World without an invitation," Bethesda said. "We understand this is not what players expected for their private worlds and we are looking to provide an option in an upcoming patch that will allow Fallout 1st members to restrict access to their servers more completely, preventing friends from joining without permission."For $12.99 / £11.99 a month or $99.99 / £99.99 a year, a Fallout 1st subscription provides you with access to private worlds, a monthly bonus of 1,650 atoms to spend in the Atomic Shop, discounts on certain items in the in-game store, a private Scrapbox, unique emotes, the Ranger Armor outfit, and a survival tent that acts as a fast travel point you can put anywhere on the map.Bethesda had already announced that some of these additions would be coming to Fallout 76 but gave no prior indication that they would be locked behind a paywall. This has attracted some criticism from players in the Fallout 76 community--though it remains to be seen how this will affect the overall reception that Bethesda has been cultivating for the game with its free post-launch content updates. One of Fallout 76's most anticipated expansions, Wastelanders, has also been delayed. Wastelanders is scheduled to add NPCs with dialogue and quest-lines to Fallout 76, which would ideally curate a gameplay experience similar to Fallout 76's single-player predecessors. Destiny 2's Halloween event, the Festival of the Lost, is on its way with the weekly reset on Tuesday, October 29. But that's not the only new content hitting the game next week. Season pass holders will also get a new Exotic weapon quest for the machine gun Xenophage, as well as access to a new dungeon as part of the Shadowkeep expansion.Bungie gave a few new details about the upcoming content bits in its This Week at Bungie blog post. It includes a look at the Exotic machine gun, but very little in the way of information about what the quest will entail or how you can start it. We do know that it's exclusive to Shadowkeep owners (sorry, Guardians who joined with the free-to-play New Light version of Destiny 2) and that it contains an insect as part of its design. Bungie also teased that you might have some options in how you earn the new gun."Where will your path take you first? There will be many options for you to consider, depending on how you like to play the most," Bungie wrote in the post.Apart from Xenophage, October 29 will also see the addition of Shadowkeep's new dungeon. If it's anything like the Shattered Throne dungeon of the Forsaken expansion, it'll be a challenging three-player activity akin to what we might expect from Destiny 2's raids. Apparently, access to the new area will require speaking with Eris Morn on Tuesday.Changes are also coming to the Crucible with a new 6-on-6 mode called Momentum Control, which will be part of the featured playlist. "This is a fast-paced, hair-on-fire experience where the lethality of all weapons has been cranked to 11," the blog post explains. "You're incentivized to be aggressive as you defeat other Guardians to earn charged melees, grenades, and Supers."Here are all the changes Momentum Transfer will include:Instant Respawn Times Out of the fight? There are a few more things to expect, however--the Garden of Salvation raid gets its first challenge on November 5, and the next phase of the Vex Offensive seasonal event, Final Assault, on November 19. That's quite a bit to keep players busy through mid-November.It's worth noting that the Festival of the Lost event is free to all players, but the dungeon, Xenophage, and Vex Offensive require the Shadowkeep expansion and its included season pass for the Season of the Undying.Info from Gamespot.com

The next revision of Nvidia's Shield TV hasn't been officially revealed yet, as Nvidia is still teasing its reveal for October 28. However, after it already leaked online last week, it seems as if the new Shield TV devices are already in stores and ready for customers--and in some cases, already being sold. Reddit user Bubba_Nosferatu spotted the different models of the new Shield TV at a Best Buy and bought one.Bubba_Nosferatu posted images of the two devices at their local Best Buy. 2019's revision of the original Shield TV, labelled "Pro," has a price tag of $200 USD, while the stick-like Shield TV device is set at $150. Bubba_Nosferatu noted in a second post that the Pro model of the Shield TV is physically identical to the 2017 version. The stick-like Shield TV device, on the other hand, looks more like a vape pen with an HDMI port.Bubba's photos also reveal some things we didn't know, including the features and specs of the Pro model. This first image seems to indicate that the base Shield TV (the stick device) won't feature two USB 3.0 ports, a Plex media server, 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, or "premium Android games," all of which are exclusive to the Pro model. Unfortunately, Bubba's photos don't reveal the actual specs of the base Shield TV, but the second image does give us the exact details for the Shield TV Pro.Nvidia Tegra X1+ Processor256-Core Nvidia GPUDolby Atmos - Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 Audio3 GB RAM16 GB StorageUSB 3.0 Expandability80.11ac Dual-Band MIMO Wi-FiGigabit EthernetBluetooth 5.0 + LEWe expect to see an official announcement from Nvidia on Monday, October 28, but if you're lucky (and willing to pull a fast one on an unknowing employee), you may be able to head to your local Best Buy or other retailer and pick up the device right now.Info from Gamespot.com

Warning: This post contains spoilers for the story of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019, as well as the original series. You might want to finish the campaign before reading further. When it rebooted Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward reimagined some of the series' original characters and put them in a new, more contemporary setting. The game's story deals with events that are similar to what's happening in our real world, and while some of the characters are the same, the story of the game is very different. But the ending of Modern Warfare 2019 includes some hints that characters and events from the original series might be part of future installments. It also reimagines the timeline of the original franchise, placing the reboot before the events of the original game. That doesn't mean Modern Warfare 2019 is a true prequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, per se--but it seems that plot points and characters from the original games might be appearing in the rebooted series' future. In it, we see series mainstay Captain Price talking with CIA agent Kate Laswell, both of whom are major characters in the reboot. Price discusses setting up a new squad, one that will be able to operate around the world to deal with crises without implication particular governments with its actions. Price has a name for the squad: Task Force 141.If you're familiar with the original Modern Warfare, you know that in that game, Task Force 141 is already fully up and running, and operating in the world. You join the squad as John "Soap" MacTavish and run through a training simulator before joining the squad on a mission. This is the biggest indcator that Modern Warfare 2019 takes on the role of something of an origin story: Task Force 141 is only an idea at the end of Modern Warfare 2019 and the events of this new game spur its creation.Al-Asad's CoupThe original Modern Warfare kicked off with a coup in a Middle Eastern country, led by Kaled Al-Asad, one of the game's villains. A big part of that game is about taking Al-Asad down, which results in him launching a nuclear weapon against American and coalition forces fighting to stop him in his country. Al-Asad is not a major player in most of the rebooted Modern Warfare, but he does show up at the end of the game in the cooperative Spec Ops mode. It seems your goal in that mode is to fight him and his terrorist organization. That means we're seeing Al-Asad at an earlier point in the progression of the original Modern Warfare's story, before he gains enough power to take over a country. It's not clear right now if that means the next game in Infinity Ward's new Modern Warfare timeline will have similar events to the 2007 game, but it's definitely possible. We could see the next CoD game focus entirely on Al-Asad, which could easily dovetail into a story with similar events to the original Modern Warfare trilogy--which, you might recall, ended with a world war between the US and Russia. Modern Warfare 2019 also mentions Gen. Shepherd, the American military commander who betrays Task Force 141 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Shepherd mentioned as still working with Price and Laswell in Spec Ops.Taken together, these hints all suggest that Modern Warfare 2019 is at the start of a new series that could revisit some of the territory of the original--or could completely reimagine it. Still, we know that the latest entry into the Call of Duty franchise is actually something of an origin story for the squad we fought with throughout the original Modern Warfare trilogy. Where the story goes from here, though, is anybody's guess, although Infinity Ward has definitely included some hints.Info from Gamespot.com
