Hearthstone has a new global champion. The championship event held at BlizzCon 2019 ended in victory for Chinese player Li "VKLiooon" Xiaomeng, making her the first woman to win in a Hearthstone championship event. Simply by playing she became the first woman to compete in such an event, so the win means she achieved the highest victory possible in her first championship.Flanked by other players and former champions, Xiaomeng took the trophy of the first Hearthstone Grandmasters championship. She has been playing competitively in the Hearthstone community for quite a while, but her consistent placement in the 2019 season qualified her for the global finals. She took the opportunity on-stage to thank her fans, and to send a message to any females in the audience."Two years ago, I remember when I was competing in a huge tournament," she said, via a translator. "I was waiting in line ... and there was this guy telling me, 'If you're a girl you should not be waiting in line here, it's not for you.' And now today I am here, with all the support from the fans. So I want to say to all the girls out there who have a dream for esports, for competition, for glory: if you want to do it, and you believe in yourself, you should just forget your gender and go for it."Xiaomeng's victory was rather definitive. In the finals match against Brian "Bloodyface" Eason, she went 3-0. The final round hinged on a matchup in which Xiaomeng had 23 in Hunter damage ready to finish off Eason, and his Druid timed out his turn looking for a solution. When the timer was up she took the shot for the win. Also at BlizzCon, Blizzard announced the next expansion for Hearthstone, Descent of Dragons, to launch in December. Before that, though, the game is getting a new mode inspired by the popular auto-chess genre. The new mode, called Hearthstone Battlegrounds, will launch in closed beta on November 5, and then into open beta on November 12. It seems some of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's weapons have extremely high recoil or extremely far range, affecting a handful of rifles and one particular shotgun.According to YouTuber E-Roc, three guns have exponentially higher recoil when crouching than standing: the Kilo 141 assault rifle, the M-13 assault rifle, and the MP-5 submachine gun. When compared to the plethora of other guns tested, E-Roc found that these three guns in particular become more inaccurate when crouched. "I want you to keep in mind the M-13, the Kilo 141, and the MP-5 because for these guns, I think, the recoil pattern is broke. It needs to be fixed," E-Roc says. "I would honestly recommend you not to use these guns ... until they fix it, at least. Just don't use them." E-Roc notes that the weapons haven't been modified in Modern Warfare's Gunsmith."An Activision blog post says the standing position is a gun's baseline-level of accuracy. "Accuracy while standing is the baseline accuracy for any weapon, so consider that when choosing between weapons for a loadout." The post later confirms crouching affords you an accuracy boost. "In a crouch, your Operator gets an accuracy boost and recoil reduction bonus."Polygon reports that one specific shotgun, the double-barreled 725, has very unusual behavior. It dishes out an exceptional amount of damage already, typically dropping enemies in the first of its two shots. However, with some extra attachments like an extended barrel and an upgrade called a "monolithic suppressor," the 725 shotgun can mimic the game's best sniper rifles. Call of Duty News Modern Warfare Dev Addresses Highway Of Death, Waterboarding, And The Intent Of Its Story Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Spec Ops Beginner's Guide Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Review In Progress - Shock And Awe Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Beginner's Guide - Essential Tips To Help You Succeed Developer Infinity Ward has recently implemented a new update for the first-person shooter, which includes numerous fixes and tweaks, the removal of all battle chatter, changing the sounds of footsteps, and more.In our Modern Warfare review-in-progress, we said, "The pitfalls of Spec Ops don't detract from what Modern Warfare does well. Realism mode is an excellent addition to the slate, and although not all the new multiplayer modes are great, Gunfight and the Night Vision playlist are refreshing standouts. And while the campaign ends up playing it safe in the end, it's still a memorable one, and it lays a strong foundation for where the Modern Warfare series could go from here." The review and score, which concluded with a 7/10, will be updated once we test multiplayer on live servers and spend more time with the Spec Ops mode.Info from Gamespot.com

The video game industry is rapidly gearing up to embrace cloud-based game streaming with the likes of Microsoft's Project xCloud and Google Stadia on the horizon. And as subscription services like Xbox Game Pass continue to thrive, it's pretty safe to say that gaming is becoming for affordable and convenient than ever. These services are no doubt exciting, but it's so easy to focus on what's coming that you may have lost sight of the here and now. If you're looking for a service that combines cloud gaming and a hefty library of titles to choose from, Sony's had one for years: PlayStation Now.It's understandable why PS Now might have slipped past you. The service was in a rather primitive form in its early days, with a fairly limited library and less-than-ideal stream quality. However, Sony has made strides since it launched PS Now in 2014 by improving functionality and expanding access, even letting you directly download PS4 titles. If this is news to you, or if you simply want to know more about PS Now, let us walk you through everything you need to know about Sony's subscription service.PS Now's game library has expanded greatly since its early days.Quick History Of PS NowPS Now was in beta in 2014 for Sony's family of gaming platforms (PS4, PS3, PS Vita, and PS TV), including Sony Bravia TVs, and subsequently launched in 2015 in North America, Europe, and Japan throughout that year. At the time, it only had a handful of PS3 games in its library available for streaming, but has evolved since. While Sony dropped PS Now support for PS3 and PS Vita/TV in 2017, it bolstered the service by expanding the library with PS4 and PS2 games in 2018, including the ability to download them directly to your PS4. And in 2019, PS Now game streaming was brought to PC users through a dedicated application. Today, PS Now sits pretty with over 800 games that cover releases from Sony's various gaming platforms. How PS Now WorksPS Now is a subscription-based service that grants you access to a large library of games. One of the biggest developments recently was that Sony cut the monthly price in half, from $20 to $10, to align closer to its competitors. There are three subscription models as of now; monthly, in three-month chunks, or on an annual basis:$9.99 monthly$24.99 for three months ($8.33/month average)$59.99 yearly ($4.99/month average)Playing games via cloud streaming on PS Now does not tax your local hardware the same way digital or physical copies of games do. That's because the processing tasks are performed by remote servers that send video feed to your screen--you're accessing the cloud to play these games. There are some inherent advantages , like not putting stress on your actual hardware and not having to wait for a download to complete before playing. Though the possibility of noticeable input lag or compressed image quality by virtue of streaming still lingers--your mileage will vary depending on your connection. At the moment, PS Now is a sort of hybrid of Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud approaches, but for PlayStation games, as you are also allowed to download PS4 and PS2 games directly to your PS4 as part of your subscription. The Games You Can PlayPS Now has some big hitters, like the latest God of War and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, both high-profile PS4 exclusives. However, certain games can and will be cycled through; both of those games, with Grand Theft Auto V and Infamous: Second Son will be available until January 2, 2020. This isn't unprecedented though, as Xbox Game Pass does this with specific games as well. While timed availability is something you'll want to pay attention to, there's still so much more to choose from.Subscribers have access to a variety of great games like Bloodborne, Rocket League, and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. PS Now also casts a fairly wide net; Sony shows confidence in the service's capability as you'll see fighting games, competitive shooters, and fast-paced action games on the roster, which typically demand a low-lag gaming environment. It's likely you'll find something you'll enjoy, but here are a few PS4 titles we'd recommend right off the bat:BloodborneUncharted 4: A Thief's EndGod of WarRocket LeagueGrand Theft Auto VMortal Kombat 11Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom PainTekken 7Valkyria Chronicles RemasteredWolfenstein: The New OrderXCOM 2Gravity Rush 2Fallout 4Battlefield 4It's not just about the latest PS4 games, though. You can find number of PS3 and PS2 available on PS Now as well, and here are some that we can recommend:Ape Escape 2 (PS2)Batman Arkham Asylum, City, and Origins (PS3)Bioshock 1, 2, and Infinite (PS3)Braid (PS3)Catherine (PS3)Eternal Sonata (PS3)Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3)Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (PS3)Over 800 games make up the service, and you can check out the full list of games available through PS Now.While a subscription to PS Now doesn't give you access to PS Plus benefits, you're at least granted access to multiplayer capabilities for games on the service. It's a nice perk that doesn't require you to commit to both subscription services to get the most out of PS Now.With a decent internet connection and a controller, you can PlayStation games on PC with PS Now.PlayStation Games On PC? No Way!You can now play PlayStation games on PC via PS Now through the app. Sure, it's not the same as having a proper PC port, but it's pretty wild to at least have access to some of PlayStation's hits on a computer. Given that you meet the technical requirements of internet speed, all you really need for PS Now on PC is the proper controller. A DualShock 3 or DualShock 4 controller will work, as well as any gamepad recognized through XInput on Windows (that includes Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers).Your PC needs to be running Windows 7 or higher (currently there's no support for Mac), so even that junky old laptop can play God of War or Uncharted 4 as long as it runs the PS Now app and holds a stable internet connection.Info from Gamespot.com

We're a week away from Disney+ launching, and the streaming service is getting a lot of original content. Star Wars' The Mandalorian launches on day one, and coming in 2020 is the MCU series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and the stars of the series announced it's now in production.Taking over the Marvel Studios Instagram, stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan both made the announcement that the new series has begun production for a new story for IG. Both actors had access to the account so they both posted numerous videos before announcing the show has begun production. You can see a screenshot of this below. From what we saw from the set, there's a truck with "Party Time Ice" written on it and something blurred-out to the left. We're guessing that's just to block out the phone number for the company that supplies said ice you party with. The series stars Mackie and Stan in their roles from other MCU movies, and it looks like this show will reintroduce the world to Helmut Zemo--who appeared in Captain America: Civil War. Daniel Brühl will reprise his role, and his character will be getting a new look for the film, which was revealed at 2019's Comic-Con.This team-up series isn't the only MCU show coming to Disney Plus in the near future. There are plenty of others planned including Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Loki, Moon Knight, and more to add to the already growing list of Disney+ originals already planned for the service. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will arrive on Disney Plus in 2020.Info from Gamespot.com

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts is gearing up for its release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One later this month with a brand-new pre-launch trailer that briefly details some of the added features and mechanics.Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts will include "never-before-seen sniping mechanics" that will reportedly influence how accurate and devastating you are as you comb through the game's Siberian sandbox. You'll take into consideration elevation, wind, and bullet-drop in your quest to line-up the perfect shot. The HUD, as displayed in the trailer below, highlights various estimations that will affect the shot you're preparing to take.Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts will also feature "a vast selection" of weapons, from snipers and assault rifles to pistols and other quick-use equipment. The game launches with "five large, unique maps" and 25 contracts to work your way through.CI Games announced Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts in August 2018, pegging the first-person sniping simulation for a November 22 release on consoles and PC. Pre-ordering the game nets you some bonuses, such as two exclusive in-game weapons and an additional skin. The last entry in the Sniper Ghost Warrior franchise was 2017's Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3. The title received criticism for its barren open-world and general lack of sniping, with Richard Wakeling saying in his review, "Yet it falters whenever it veers away from its strengths, and the plethora of nagging glitches and technical problems are a persistent nuisance that make Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 difficult to recommend." The next expansion for World of Warcraft, Shadowlands, is taking the conflicts of Azeroth to a whole new place: the afterlife. Venturing to a new plane of existence--one that Blizzard hasn't explored much either in its games or in WoW's lore--offers opportunities for the developer to add new ways to play WoW in the expansion that haven't been a part of Azeroth before.Torghast, the Tower of the Damned, is a pretty literal expression of the Shadowlands offering something strange and different to the WoW formula. The new endgame activity in the Shadowlands basically imagines WoW as a rogue-like. On paper, it shares similarities with Final Fantasy XIV's Deep Dungeons called "Palace of the Dead" and "Heaven-on-High" which use a rogue-like structure and throw challenging enemies and variables at you as you ascend a number of floors. And here, WoW seems to be providing an endless challenge that plays differently from the rest of the game in some key ways.At Blizzcon 2019, executive producer John Hight and senior game designer Johnny Cash explained how Torghast gave Blizzard a chance to mess with the WoW formula and experiment a bit. Essentially, Torghast is a tower in which you face a variety of battles that ratchet up in difficulty the higher you climb. Your goal is to get as far as you can before you're eventually killed."We really wanted to give you a place to be able to go, commit maybe 45 minutes of your time, but have a very exciting replayable experience," Hight said. "The way that's designed is you alone, or up to five people in your party, begin ascending this tower that was really designed to kill you, or to put an end to you."The reason it's replayable is because everything changes each time you play through. You might enter that first level, and the walkway that you were used to that goes to the right now goes to the left, and the traps that you were about to face, be it fire or blades, will be completely different. The bosses that you encounter, the spawns you encounter, and more importantly, the crazy loop that you're going to get when you go in there. Because these are in the form of buffs and power-ups, and if you get lucky, you'll find some combinations that make you completely [overpowered]. You'll be able to completely clear a level, master it, be the hero amongst your group, walk to the next level and find a completely different setup."The shifting reality of Torghast also applies to the items you'll find in it along the way. The tower is full of buffs and power-ups you'll earn that linger only for a particular run, like the power-ups and equipment you'd get in a rogue-like game. It sounds fundamentally different from other World of Warcraft activities because, by design, it's not focused on balancing your abilities against the enemies you're facing."One of the things we can do is really fundamentally play with the rules of what you assume. and what we've all assumed, WoW is," Cash said. "Normally you're getting gear, and it might be an incremental power upgrade, and over time you're going to get a bunch of those, and then you'll gradually grow in strength. In Torghast, there's the cool opportunity amongst the ever-changing layouts and monsters and traps, what if we can give you a buff that you find that doubles your power instantly? And that combos with another thing and another thing and another thing, such that you can instantly blow up enemies, and when they blow up, they chain to blow up other enemies, and those enemies heal you. These crazy combinations, and you need them to defeat those more powerful levels.""It's an opportunity to explore a space that--you know, we can't double your power in the outdoor world because people would farm the hell out of that, and clear the raid way too fast or way too easily," he said. "And so it lets us play with rules that we normally can't."There's no timer in Torghast, and eventually, you will die. But ascending the tower isn't just about seeing how far you can get and having a randomized activity you can replay over and over. Torghast also provides rewards beyond the buffs you can find along the way to make a particular run more enticing.Working through Torghast will reward you with runes that will let you craft new Legendary items. The system also gives you some control over the gear you earn as you fight your way through the tower's torments."We know that people love loading in their Legendaries," Hight said. "They told us after Legion, 'Where are my Legendaries?' They're not Legendary weapons, but they are going to be Legendary pieces that you can equip--up to one, but you can build more than that and you can swap out. You're going to have a lot of control over the aspects, the abilities that are on those Legendaries."The challenges of Torghast sound as though they'll give WoW players something new to think about when they hit the endgame of Shadowlands. You might bring different builds to bear in the rogue-like tower, or take advantage of other elements, like the new Soulbinds system. It all seems like a fresh take on the WoW formula that has allowed Blizzard a little freedom in playing with the game's underlying formula--and will likely provide players with an opportunity to shake up how they play as well. Afterparty's version of hell is less fire and brimstone and more cocktails and ennui. Sure, its human inhabitants are still damned for eternity and demons still flagellate them for their sins, but that's just the nine-to-five. To escape the drudgery of everlasting torment, demons and humans alike flock to bars and other seedy hangouts between the days' torture. It isn't the flashiest take on the afterlife, but that's kind of the point. Afterparty revels in the small, personal acts of cruelty and kindness that define us, and while the ways it imparts lessons aren't always up to task with the material, it nonetheless treads exciting ground as a story about the work it takes to be a better person.Developed by Oxenfree creators Night School Studio, Afterparty follows Milo and Lola, a pair of recent college grads who've just found out they face eternal damnation. After some quick onboarding on how they're to be tortured for the rest of eternity, the pair get a break when their turn in line comes just as the workday ends, giving them a night's reprieve. They then learn there's a way out of their predicament: If they can outparty The Prince of Darkness himself, they can return to the world of the living.Mechanically, Afterparty keeps things simple. As you walk across rich and detailed 3D backgrounds along a 2D plane, most of your interactions involve talking to the right person at the right time. This puts the spotlight on Afterparty's strongest asset: incredibly verisimilar conversations. The dialogue is lifelike in a way you don't find in most games; characters restart their sentences, which often have a fantastically ad-libbed quality to them; the main voice cast features whip-smart performances from Janina Gavankar, Khoi Dao, Ashly Burch, and Dave Fennoy, who all sell their cartoonish characters' maladjustments without making them overbearing.Afterparty touches on several topics, including the layout, structure, and the underpinnings of its underworld, which pull heavily from the Bible and Paradise Lost. It makes easy connections between businesspeople and demons, or social media platforms and hellscapes, though the comparisons are all coated in a thick veneer of simmering snark and clever turns of phrases that make the comparisons fun, even if they're not the most imaginative ones.Afterparty is most at home and most cutting when it delves into more intimate topics. Sister May Wormhorn, a personal demon created to harass Milo and Lola as they try to get the approvals necessary to outparty Satan, torments the pair by sifting through their rougher memories. These end up being not one-off, traumatic events, but rather the kinds of smaller slights and moments that bring out their various hangups: Lola's ostracization from her family due to not only her complex family situation, but her skepticism in the face of her sisters' faith; Milo's demanding parents and search for an identity as the child of an immigrant family. These points come through in ways that are direct, but not didactic, and they make for some of the game's strongest moments. The aloof but clear sense of resignation that permeates throughout hell's inhabitants also sells Afterparty's vision of the underworld not as a prison for the world's most violent criminals, but as the banal hangout spot for those who simply failed to do enough good. In an early exchange, Milo asks Satan what he and Lola could have done to deserve eternal damnation. Satan cuts back with a pithy anecdote about a man who will ask him the same question 50 years from now, after having set out a dress for his girlfriend knowing it would be too revealing to keep her warm in a movie theater. "The real question, Milo, is, what did you do to deserve anything else?" The way Afterparty imparts this lesson both explicitly, in the moral quandaries its explores in its characters, and in its vibrant-but-benumbing clubs, parks, and sights, makes for a powerful atmosphere. Not every beat lands, however. The main plot, the one about trying to drink Satan under the table, ends in somewhat anticlimactic fashion, and the threads leading up to that finale are underwhelming. That's in part a result of how the quandaries its characters tackle don't have solid, definable solutions that could make for a more exciting conclusion. But it's also because the overarching plot acts as more of a vehicle for characters to vent their frustrations with the world, the underworld, and each other than a real compelling story on its own. The snarky tone also keeps things from getting too dark, and while I appreciated the lighthearted approach, there were times I wish it would have delved into the darker, riskier territory a game set in hell might invite. Most of Afterparty has you simply taking in and reacting to conversations, but the ways you interact with those conversations break immersion more often than they deepen it. You interact with conversations largely by deciding when to butt in and when to say nothing. You have a limited but generous timer on how long you can respond to something before it's no longer an appropriate response, though I did find a few spots where dialogue would skip inadvertently. The conversation choices are fairly limited, and in the instances where I was able to play through a section of dialogue a second time through, my choices didn't actually alter the plot all that much, which made the conversation more interactive as a way to keep the game from being one long monologue than anything else.As you hash out the various problems of demons and humans alike, you're going to want to drink. Imbibing one of the underworldly cocktails you find at bars unlocks new dialogue options; chugging a Blue Devil (potato vodka, cigarette butts, the wailing of injured children, and a melted antoninianus coin) will make you more of a rich jerk, while a Grand Exhibitionist (bourbon, mint, sugar, and a frog's vocal sac) will make you more of a "witty vaudevillian." Many of these are for kicks (you can sound like a pirate while making a point if you really want), but often, you'll need them if you want to branch a conversation a different way or build up the courage to perform certain actions to progress.Afterparty is most at home and most cutting when it delves into more intimate topics. It's a neat hook that ties into the themes of the story, but it lacks depth as a central conceit. You get a flourish here and there as you affect different octaves or do impressions as you try to get two lovers to get back together, but none of the branches I went down seemed particularly influenced by my drink of choice. On a couple of occasions the game slyly hints that you should replay it to see different effects for all of your choices, but never really earns it. It highlights the larger choices you make, such as whether you turn in one of two suspects who may be a human sneaking into hell for the fun of it, in review sessions with Wormhorn (who belittles you regardless of what you pick). But aside from one major choice, I wasn't too compelled to see other ways situations could have happened.Beyond that, Afterparty is fairly straightforward; its puzzles are barebones (the most complicated one involved talking someone into giving me their trenchcoat so Milo and Lola could sneak into a club), and most of the drinking and club mini-games that pop up when it's time to earn a demon's approval are disappointing. That Afterparty keeps its interactions light is mostly to its benefit, but when it tries for something else, it doesn't offer the kinds of powerful moments that come from a game's mechanics and story working together to drive home a point.Thankfully, Afterparty sticks mostly to unpacking its characters, world, moral quandaries, and how we may not always see those quandaries for how they define us. When it hits those strides, it's a novel look at what hell might look like for most of us, a vision that turns the concept of eternal damnation into something more palpable and threatening. It fumbles when it reaches outside its comfort zone, and the focus on small moments means it lacks the grandiose ones that make our lives feel more meaningful than they might otherwise be. But again, that's kind of the point: After all, what did we do to deserve anything else? Info from Gamespot.com

Netflix is introducing a new button that lets viewers skip jokes about President Trump in a new comedy special. The button will be first implemented in comedian and late night TV host Seth Meyers' comedy special, Lobby Baby, which arrives on the streaming giant November 5.This button will seemingly work the same way as the "Skip Intro" button that is already in place.According to Netflix, this is a one-off feature that Meyers is using purposefully as a joke about the saturation of political jokes in comedy specials. This is also a way to get people talking about his special. A spokesperson for Netflix confirmed to GameSpot sister site CNET that giving Meyers the "Skip Trump Jokes" button is part of its desire to support the creative views of its clients."It dawned on me that because it was on Netflix, there would be this opportunity to put in technology that would allow people to skip it," Meyers told CNN. "It was a way to build in the response to anyone who would say, 'Oh, let me guess there's going to be jokes about the President.'"Netflix comedy boss Robbie Praw said the streaming network was "thrilled" to work with Meyers on the new feature that helps people experience comedy specials "in such a funny and innovative way." Meyers himself has ripped into Trump on numerous occasions. He was the host of the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner, and he used his platform to crack numerous jokes about Trump, who was the host of The Apprentice at the time. Meyers, like other late night TV hosts, continues to lace into Trump during his TV show.Meyers said he doesn't expect many people to actually use the "Skip Trump" button, however, and its announcement seems to be more of a marketing ploy than anything else."I think, look, sometimes at a fancy restaurant they'll put parsley on your plate and you'll think, well, that's a nice touch, but you're not going to eat the parsley," he said. For more on what's new on Netflix in November, check out this roundup of all the new TV show and movies on Netflix. Last night, HBO's Watchmen TV show introduced its incarnation of a familiar face: Laurie Blake, AKA Laurie Juspeczyk, AKA the second Silk Spectre has joined the show played by the legendary Jean Smart. But in true Watchmen style, this isn't the Laurie fans of the graphic novel will be all that familiar with and we can assume that a lot (and we mean a lot) has changed over the last thirty years for her.But before we talk about where she is now, let's rewind to talk about where she was during the 1980s. Laurie's position within the Watchmen canon has always been a little complicated. As the original Silk Spectre's (Sally Jupiter) daughter, she was uniquely situated within the masked vigilante underworld and uniquely privy to the darker side of the career. Laurie was a teenager when she learned that her biological father was actually Eddie Blake, otherwise known as The Comedian, one of the heroes her mother had worked with The Minutemen; and that she was the product of a brutal sexual assault that The Minutemen had elected to cover up. The revelation drove a wedge between Laurie and her mother that was never really repaired, even when Laurie finally agreed to pick up the Silk Spectre mantle and continue in the "family business." At 16, Laurie met and became romantically involved with Jon Osterman, AKA Doctor Manhattan, which only served to put more strain on Laurie's connection with her mom--not because Manhattan was a grown adult at the time, but because Sally thought Manhattan's nuclear powers were dangerous to be around. Yikes.Laurie and Jon remained together for around 20 years, even after the Keene Act outlawed vigilantism and forced them into retirement. However, Jon's growing detachment from humanity eventually put a real end to things. Laurie eventually left him and began a romantic relationship with Dan Dreiberg, the second Nite Owl, who she remained with through the events of the graphic novel.Following Ozymandias's squid scheme, Laurie and Dan adopted new identities, Sam and Sandra Hollis, which they figured out keep them safe from any potential fallout both from Adrian Veidt himself and from the law, considering just how many they broke doing things like breaking Rorschach out of prison. They did not, however, plan on giving up the vigilante lifestyle. Their final moments in the comic are dedicated to them having a conversation about new costumed identities where Laurie implies that she's going to want a new costume, a mask, and possibly a gun.We learned from the Peteypedia that she did indeed get all of those things at some point. She adopted a new hero name, The Comedienne, after her father. She maintained this identity, presumably with Dan, until the mid-90s when they were caught. This is where things start to get a little tricky. Dan ended up in federal custody as a result and is still there in 2019. Laurie, however, is now a federal agent herself and a member of the anti-vigilante task force. We can't be sure of what exactly happened, or what kind of deal Laurie would have struck to keep herself out of jail, but it's certainly possible that she flipped on Dan to ensure her own safety.Regardless of what happened in the 90s, the Laurie we see in the show is anything but sympathetic to the vigilante cause. She's ruthlessly good at her job and makes no pretense for her disgust and disinterest in Joe Keene's "DOPA" or "Defense of Police Act" that allows cops in Tulsa to wear masks and adopt vigilante identities for their own. She's just as ready to kill costumed adventures as she is to arrest them. With any luck, the gaps in Laurie's story will be filled in eventually as HBO's Watchmen continues every Sunday at 9PM.Info from Gamespot.com

Overwatch 2 is an unusual sequel in that a lot of the new content it introduces--including new characters, maps, and PvP modes--will also be added to the original Overwatch on all platforms. Overwatch 2 will feature an exclusive campaign mode with PvE combat and a story that will delve deeper into the series' lore, but if you're just playing Overwatch for the PvP experience, you won't miss out on anything if you don't upgrade. It goes the other way as well--all cosmetics you've unlocked in the original game will carry over into Overwatch 2.This is not a standard model for a sequel, but game director Jeff Kaplan has told Kotaku Australia that, while it was a difficult decision to make, he believes that this is the model that best benefits Overwatch's player base. "It's very challenging because the industry has done things the same way for so long," he said. "And so it's hard to get people, push them out of their comfort zone and say, hey, I think we could do it a better way."Kaplan said that convincing people at Blizzard to do this meant explaining how it would ultimately benefit their players. "I try to tell them if we do what's right by the players, they will be happy, we will have a better game, and we will end up in a better place in the long run." He believes that cutting off players from the first Overwatch to "make that game just sort of die on the vine" is the wrong approach. "I always try to come at things from a player-first standpoint," Kaplan said. Ultimately, this model will allow Overwatch 1 and 2 to coexist, and will allow for crossplay between the two games.Overwatch 2 is just one of several big announcements to come out of BlizzCon 2019, where Diablo IV and World of Warcraft: Shadowlands were also shown for the first time. Overwatch 2 will release on Switch as well as PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and might feature a ping system similar to Apex Legends. Whether you're buying a new PS4 this Black Friday or have owned one for years, you should consider purchasing a PlayStation Plus subscription. Normally $60 a year, PS Plus grants users access to online multiplayer as well as two free games each month. As long as you have an active subscription, you can keep playing the free games for as long as you want.Black Friday weekend and Cyber Monday will likely bring deals on PlayStation Plus. Last year, the service was discounted to $40 at numerous retailers, including GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart. PlayStation also offered the $40 price on the PlayStation Store, so you could buy it straight from your console. Black Friday 2019 Deals & News Black Friday 2019: When Does It Start, Deals To Expect, And More Amazon's Early Black Friday Deals Are Live Walmart's Pre-Black Friday Sale Kicks Off Friday--Get A Sneak Peek At The Best Deals Early Black Friday Ad Reveals Excellent PS4 Bundle (US) Cyber Monday 2019: What Is Cyber Monday, Start Times, And More Will PS Plus be on sale for Black Friday 2019?Nothing has been confirmed, but we'd be shocked if PS Plus subscriptions weren't on sale once again. Conventional wisdom suggests 12-month subscriptions will be discounted to $40. PS Plus very rarely drops lower than $40, and even when it does, the discount is just ever so slightly better (it was recently $39 at Ebay, and during this year's Amazon Prime Day, we saw it for $37).Even if you still have several months left on your current subscription, it's wise to re-up at a discounted price as subscriptions can be stacked. And if PS Plus is on sale for around $40 again this Black Friday, it's a worthwhile add-on to your Black Friday PS4 shopping. It would also make for a great gift for any and all PS4 owners on your shopping list, especially when you're unsure which games they already own.Where to find PS Plus deals on Black FridayWhen PlayStation Plus is discounted on Black Friday, it's typically on sale just about everywhere that sells PS Plus, either in card form or printed as a code on your receipt. That includes the major retailers, like Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and GameStop, as well as the PlayStation Store, which will be the most convenient if you're buying the subscription for yourself. That said, keep your eye on the deals at Ebay and Newegg--these two stores tend to have the best discounts on PS Plus year-round, and if it drops to $40 elsewhere, you may be able to find it even cheaper at one of these sites. Of course, stay tuned to GameSpot in the weeks leading up to and during Black Friday as we'll be reporting on all the best gaming deals, including any PS Plus discounts. Info from Gamespot.com

Chorus: An Adventure Musical, the first game from Summerfall Studios, is currently seeking funding on Fig. It's very close to its target--it's sitting on 97% at the time of writing, and is on track to get fully funded. The game, which comes from a team headed up by Dragon Age writer David Gaider, is a musical, a genre not often explored in games. Now, one actor has reached out to discuss the possibility of playing a part in the new game, and the folks behind the game are keen to have them on board.Anthony Rapp, who is currently starring on Star Trek Discovery as Lieutenant Commander Paul Stamets, and is well-known for his singing talents in Broadway productions such as Rent and If/Then, has reached out to the team over Twitter. Rapp is excited at the concept of Chorus, and has asked if he could potentially play a role in it.The official Twitter account for Summerfall Studios and Gaider both responded separately, expressing enthusiasm over the idea.Hey @TroyBakerVA I understand you’re helping put together a story-based musical video game. The next DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros Ultimate is Terry Bogard, one of the most recognizable fighters from the Fatal Fury series. We haven't seen much of what Terry can do yet, but that's set to change in an upcoming livestream.Nintendo has announced via their Nintendo Versus Twitter account that Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai will host a 45 minute livestream of the game at 5 AM PT on November 6, showing off the upcoming fighter's abilities and fighting style. In the past, these videos have released very shortly before the characters themselves were made available to purchase: Joker, Hero and Banjo-Kazooie all followed a similar pattern.Join Super #SmashBrosUltimate Director Masahiro Sakurai on 11/6 at 5am PT for a roughly 45-minute video livestream featuring an in-depth look at upcoming DLC Fighter, Terry Bogard from the FATAL FURY series! pic.twitter.com/MPKUp0lkJs — Nintendo Versus (@NintendoVS) November 5, 2019Terry Bogard is the fourth DLC character to be added to Super Smash Bros Ultimate since the game's release. Following on from Jumanji: The Next Level's first and second trailers, the film's official Twitter account has released some character posters to show off the film's cast. These posters focus exclusively on the characters inside the Jumanji video game that much of the film is set within, which means, unfortunately, that we don't get posters for Danny DeVito's Eddie or Danny Glover's Milo--who are turned into Dwayne Johnson's Dr. Smolder Bravestone and Kevin Hart's Franklin "Mouse" Finbar, respectively, when they enter the game.Gear up for this level up.
