Cyberpunk 2077 got a big reception at E3 thanks to the surprise reveal of the character Johnny Silverhand, played by Keanu Reeves. The character is actually showing up more than CD Projekt Red originally planned, though, thanks to Reeves himself.WCCF Tech reports that at the Lucca Comics and Games festival, voice actor Luca Ward said that his recording time had been doubled thanks to Reeves pushing for Silverhand to have more time. The report, translated from an Italian interview, suggests that Reeves was enjoying playing the part and asked to have a bigger presence in the game.We had previously heard a similar account from senior level designer Miles Tost about Reeves' affinity for the character and world. Tost said because Reeves is known for cyberpunk-like stories such as The Matrix and Johnny Mnemonic, it was "a very natural match made in heaven." He also said Reeves seemed "very passionate about the project and the role he's playing."Reeves' surprise stage appearance at Microsoft's E3 conference made him one of the unexpected stars of E3. With Apple Arcade delivering a steady stream of high-quality mobile games, there's really never been a better time to game on iOS devices. You should take a break from filling up your iPhone's storage space with Apple Arcade games to download Bastion, as Supergiant Games' 2011 debut is currently free for a limited time. The original iOS version published by Warner Bros. was delisted last week. An updated version published by Supergiant just popped up on the App Store, and the studio responsible for the whimsical action-RPG is graciously giving it away free of charge until the end of the year. Download Bastion for free We tried searching for Bastion in the App Store, but it seems the new listing isn't appearing in to search results just yet. After downloading, you need to unlock the full game. Bastion boots directly to the beginning of the game rather than a menu screen. After playing for about ten seconds, the settings wheel will appear in the upper right-hand corner. Click on the wrench/hammer icon, and you'll see a button that reads "Unlock $0.00." Bastion is now in your iOS game library forever! In Bastion, you play as the Kid, a young adventurer on a fantastical journey narrated by an old man named Rucks. Throughout the story, you fight your way through enemy-infested levels comprised of floating environments that continuously appear as you walk. The end goal is to collect the cores that made the city of Caelondia tick before the world-altering event known as the Calamity. Earning an impressive 8.5/10 in GameSpot's Bastion review, the game became a runaway hit.Supergiant Games went on to create three more compelling indies: Transistor, Pyre, and Hades, which is currently in early access.Info from Gamespot.com

While Harry Potter fans only had to wait two years between the first two movies in the spin-off Fantastic Beasts series, it's taking a while longer for the third movie to get here. The film was originally set to shoot this summer, but after some delay, it has now been reported that it will finally start production in Spring 2020.According to Deadline, Warner has greenlit Fantastic Beasts 3 ahead of its November 2021 release date. The film will start shooting next spring and will once more star Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore, and Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald. Other actors set to return include Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, and Katherine Waterston.Deadline also states that Jessica Williams, who appeared briefly in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald as Professor Eulalie "Lally" Hicks, will have a more prominent role this time round. David Yates, who helmed the previous two films and four Harry Potter movies, is set to return to the director's chair. While plot details are currently underwraps, the movie will reportedly be set in Rio de Janeiro.Production on Fantastic Beasts 3 has been delayed twice--it was originally set to start this summer, and was then moved to the fall. In January, it was reported that production had been moved to allow the film's creative teams more time to work on it. While The Crimes of Grindelwald made $648.8 million worldwide, it was still less than Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them's $814 million gross. The movie also received very mixed reviews.Info from Gamespot.com

Blizzard Entertainment has commented on Overwatch 2's leak prior to the official BlizzCon 2019 reveal, calling it a "demoralizing" experience for the development team.Game director Jeff Kaplan spoke to Kotaku Australia about the general feeling that washed over Team 4, Blizzard's internal team responsible for Overwatch, following the sequel's leak. "It's extremely demoralizing," Kaplan explained. "You feel totally deflated."Kaplan said he understands that leaks are bound to happen, but what bothers him and the Overwatch team the most is the lack of context. "When you're trying so hard to deliver something for somebody and to have it be spoiled in a way that's not coherent," Kaplan said. "That's the part that bothers us the most, where people are not given all the information and all of the context that they need to understand what we're doing.""Our artists are heartbroken: They take such care to make the art look beautiful, and then we get some crappy version of what the art looks like ... and then people are like, 'I don't know it doesn't look that good' and we're like, no it does, it looks amazing! It's just a crappy screenshot that someone took, so it can be a bit demoralizing," Kaplan said. "But my interactions with everybody on the team today is everybody's on cloud nine."Blizzard has discussed the myriad new features coming to Overwatch 2. Along with new Hero redesigns, Overwatch 2 will include new maps, an additional game mode called Push, PvE Story missions, and more. While Overwatch 2 is a full-fledged sequel, not an expansion, progression and skins from the first game will carry over. With daylight savings time ending this week in the United States, Bungie's weekly and daily resets in Destiny 2 will now occur an hour earlier than usual, happening at 9 AM PT. With the November 5 reset, Iron Banner has returned to Crucible, although there's a key detail to be aware of before cashing in the Pinnacle rewards from it or any other activity.Bungie is making changes to Pinnacle rewards, which are those that allow you to increase your Power level from 950 to the current cap of 960. This process was meant to be slow but is a true slog due to the way it's worked since the launch of Shadowkeep. But that's now changing in a welcome direction. As detailed during the most recent This Week At Bungie blog, Pinnacle rewards will now drop at +2 Power instead of +1. As a result, you'll only need these drops in four slots (rather than all of them) to increase your Power level. That should make it less frustrating when you end up with a Pinnacle reward in a slot where you don't see any Power level increase. We are increasing the Power granted by Pinnacle rewards to +2 instead of +1 on Nov 7.NOTE: Players should wait to earn their Pinnacle rewards until this hotfix is available so they can take advantage of the +2 change.https://t.co/JFqYwDgDEx pic.twitter.com/XHa3YLqFD5 — Bungie (@Bungie) November 5, 2019This is the important part: The change won't go live until this Thursday, November 7. That means that any Pinnacle rewards you might earn between now and then will still drop at +1, including those from completing Iron Banner bounties. As such, to maximize your gains, you should wait until Bungie releases its hotfix on Thursday to earn any of your Pinnacle rewards.Season 8's Iron Banner armorIn the meantime, if you didn't finish it during the first Iron Banner of the season, you can now continue working your way through the Scour the Rust quest. Doing so will entitle you to a full set of the quite nice-looking Season 8 "Iron Will" armor that is available for Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans. Horizon: Zero Dawn was a critical and commercial success, so it's been somewhat surprising that Sony has yet to announce a sequel. That remains the case, but now yet another piece of evidence has emerged that Horizon: Zero Dawn 2 is in development.A job listing at Guerrilla Games for a "Technical Vegetation Artist" (via GamesRadar) specifically mentions that the candidate would be working on creating "the stunning environments of Horizon."Given that Horizon is more than two years old now, it seems likely that this job ad is for a new Horizon game, potentially a sequel. The job ad states that Guerrilla has a total of four teams dedicated to making the environments of Horizon.Guerrilla has numerous open positions on its website, but this is seemingly the only one that directly mentions Horizon. Other job ads mention that Guerrilla is working on a new open-world game, and that could be yet another reference to Horizon: Zero Dawn 2.2017's Horizon: Zero Dawn was a big change for Guerrilla, as the studio previously made the first-person shooter franchise Killzone. Guerrilla reportedly has multiple internal development teams, and one of these is said to be working on a multiplayer game that some people believe could be a new Killzone.Guerrilla hired Rainbow Six Siege's director, Simon Larouche, to work on a new project at the studio. Larouche's history, people believe this may be a multiplayer game.Guerrilla, which is based in the Netherlands, recently announced plans to grow in size to 400 or more developers with the aiming of releasing new games every two or three years, according to wccftech. The studio also created the Decima engine, which Hideo Kojima used for his new game, Death Stranding.Janina Gavankar, who played Tatai in Horizon: Zero Dawn's Frozen Wilds expansion, said at an event earlier this year that a sequel to Horizon is on the way. "It's incredible; wait 'til you see the sequel," she said. "You're gonna die--I know some secrets!"Whatever projects Guerrilla (which is owned by Sony) is indeed working on, it seems likely they'll be released on the upcoming PlayStation 5. That console launches in Holiday 2020.Info from Gamespot.com

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out on PC, but startup errors are giving some players trouble. One editor at GameSpot experienced several back-to-back crashes in Red Dead 2 on PC while trying to load into the campaign and during the opening cutscene. Please click Retry below to enter the game again, or click Safe Mode to launch the game with reduced graphics settings. In celebration of N7 Day--an annual Mass Effect holiday celebrating the beloved RPG franchise every November 7--BioWare has released new javelin skins in Anthem that are themed after characters from the original trilogy of Mass Effect games. A new emote and wrap have been added to the game as well.Honestly, the four new javelin skins might be the coolest additions ever implemented into Anthem. The Ranger now has a Turian skin that reshapes the javelin to look like Garrus from Mass Effect 3. The new Storm skin is Asari-themed, making the javelin look like Liara in her default Mass Effect 3 appearance. Neither of the other two skins are based on specific characters, with the new Colossus skin themed after a Krogan and the new Interceptor after a Quarian. All four new skins are pictured below. Each skin goes for 61,000 Coins or 850 Shards, which roughly translates to $8 USD. There's a new Mass Effect-themed emote in Anthem's in-game store too: the Shepard Shuffle. Unlocking the emote allows your javelin to perform the awkward dance of the Mass Effect trilogy's main character, a long-running joke in the franchise. There's also a new Mass Effect: Andromeda-themed wrap available for purchase to adjust the Mass Effect skins to look like the armor worn by the Turians, Krogans, Turians, and Asari in the Andromeda Initiative.BioWare typically does or announces something Mass Effect-related every N7 Day, and it's looking like these new Anthem cosmetics may be what the developer planned for this year. We'll have to wait for November 7 to see whether there's anything else. The javelin skins, emote, and wrap will remain in Anthem's in-game store until November 12.During N7 Day 2018, BioWare posted a short video on Twitter where studio boss Casey Hudson teased a new Mass Effect game by knowingly staring at the camera after saying, "It means coming into the studio every day, dreaming about what the next great Mass Effect game will be." In February 2019, Anthem and Dragon Age executive producer Mark Darrah said that BioWare is "definitely not done with Mass Effect."In EA's latest quarterly earnings call, COO Blake Jorgensen said that the company wants to "deliver some exciting remasters of fan favorites, including the Command and Conquer game we've already disclosed." However, he did not confirm whether those "exciting remasters" might include the Mass Effect trilogy.Info from Gamespot.com

Good Boys is about three friends in 6th grade that go on an adventure trying to keep drugs away from two college girls while also trying to get to the mall to buy a drone. The movie is rated-R and filled with a lot of downright filthy language and bizarre adult situations, leading to a lot of questions from the very young cast..For the special features on the home release of Good Boys, which comes to stores on November 12, there are traditional featurettes, going over various aspects of the movie, deleted scenes, and even audio commentary. However, one featurette titled "Ask Your Parents," went over what the producers and directors did when the children asked about some of the props on set, which were primarily sex toys."Not unlike their characters, the boys were incredibly curious," executive producer Josh Fagen explained. "They wanted to know a lot of things. And so they would ask us, we'd very politely say, 'You should ask your parents.'"Many of these very adult items were used as weapons for the trio in their battles against bullies and potential creeps. However, there's one infamous scene where the boys want to practice their kissing technique. And they do so on what they think is a CPR doll--it's actually a realistic sex doll. And even when filming, the boys were never told what it actually was. "I had to kiss the CPR doll," explained Jacob Temblay, who plays Max in the film. "The skin feels really weird. It's made out of silicon. It's kinda creepy. I'm scared of dolls, personally. I don't like them."Good Boys is filled with moments of these tweens trying to figure out the adult world, and it's actually a pretty sweet film. In his review of Good Boys, Rafael Motormayor said it "manages to balance the raunchiness of an R-rated sex comedy with the sweetness and good intentions of a coming-of-age movie. These combine into a powerful story about childhood friendships and the difficulties of making them last."Good Boys on Blu-ray$35 $25 See on Amazon Good Boys special features:Alternate endingDeleted and extended scenesGag reelSix featurettesAudio commentary from director and co-writer Gene Stupnitsky and producer and co-writer Lee EisenbergGood Boys is available digitally now and arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on November 12.The products discussed here were independently chosen by our editors.
