With just a few months to go before the new James Bond movie No Time To Die hits theatres in April, the producers have brought in a new composer in an unprecedented move.Sources told Variety that Eon Productions have hired Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Gladiator, Blade Runner 2049) to take over following the departure of Dan Romer. According to the report, Romer and Eon had "creative differences."No Time To Die director Cary Fukunaga hired Romer in summer 2019; they previously worked together on Fukunaga's Beasts of No Nation and Maniac.Variety reports that Zimmer may not be working on the No Time To Die music alone, due to the very short turnaround. Unsubstantiated rumours suggests that Benjamin Wallfisch and Lorne Balfe might be collaborating with Zimmer on the No Time To Die score. This change-up is unexpected and unprecedented. Variety reminds us that never before in the the 58-year history of the James Bond series has a composer been replaced during post-production.No Time To Die is scheduled to hit theatres on April 10, and it is expected that it will be the final James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig in the lead role. Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, and Léa Seydoux (who also appears in Death Stranding) all return to the roles of M, Q, Miss Moneypenny, and Madeleine Swann respectively. The new cast members include Rami Malek as the villain, as well as Billy Magnussen and Ana de Armas.Info from Gamespot.com

Netflix has posted a fascinating behind-the-scenes video that shows how the team at Star Wars effects studio Industrial Light & Magic went about de-aging Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci, and Al Pacino for the streamer's new crime movie The Irishman.Director Martin Scorsese explains had been trying to make The Irishman for nearly a decade, but he could never get financing. When Scorsese eventually signed a deal with Netflix for the movie, there was still a problem--DeNiro, Pesci, and Pacino were too old for makeup alone to make them look younger as would be required for their roles in the film. When filming the Scorsese's 2016 movie Silence, ILM boss Pablo Helman came to Scorsese with an idea to use digital de-aging to make The Irishman. Scorsese said he was worried that DeNiro, Pesci, and Pacino would feel uncomfortable and not be able to act their best with the traditional motion-capture rigs surrounding their faces. So Helman and his team at ILM created all-new technology that would not encumber the three Oscar-winning actors. The entire video is incredibly fascinating and well worth a watch; check it out below. This technology, as you'll see in the video, includes a new camera rig system that uses three cameras--one traditional camera and two infrared cameras--as well as advanced software to create younger-looking versions of the actors. ILM spent around two years compiling footage from the actors' previous movies across a spectrum of ages to serve as models for the faces and expressions that they would use in the film.In 2015, years before cameras started rolling on The Irishman, DeNiro tested this technology by performing one of his memorable scenes from Scorsese's 1990 mobster movie Goodfellas. Scorsese said he was blown away by the results, and Netflix also liked it and decided to move forward with filming the entire movie using this brand-new technology.Pesci, DeNiro, and Pacino had their faces scanned into the computer so the software could emulate a multitude of different expressions. Some who have seen The Irishman have remarked that the de-aging doesn't always look completely believable or what you might expect, and this may be on purpose. The ILM team explains in the video that they were not exclusively trying to create younger-looking versions of the actors. Instead, they sought to create younger-looking versions of the characters the actors were portraying. The ILM staff in the video also speak about how they believe this kind of de-aging technology might become the new norm, and lead to a filmmaking world where actors never have to use face rings or have ping pong balls attached to their face and body. Scorsese told The Hollywood Reporter that ILM's technology came at no small expense, so it remains to be seen how widely this technology may be adopted by other studios in the future. The Irishman reportedly carried a budget of more than $150 million, and that's before marketing.GameSpot's review of The Irishman scored it a 9/10. "It feels like a career summation, a mature and dignified work that could only be made by an older filmmaker able to look back on his life and his work. And while Frank Sheeran is left as an old man filled only with shame and regret, Scorsese proves that his powers as a filmmaker remain at full strength," reviewer Dan Auty said.Despite its marathon length of 3.5 hours, many millions of people watched The Irishman in its first week and first month. This April, NBC dives into the streaming service game with Peacock. And one of the original series coming to it is a revival of the classic '90s comedy Saved By The Bell. The lead role for Saved By the Bell may be played by Josie Totah (Champions), according to The Hollywood Reporter. She is currently in talks to play Lexi on the new series, the most popular girl at Bayside High who is a cheerleader and quick-witted. Her fellow students both admire and fear her. This new series isn't a reboot. This show will take place in present day Saved By The Bell continuity, and both Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley will be serving as producers on the show and reprising their roles. The world around them has really changed according to the logline for the show: "When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state – including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the over privileged Bayside kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality."NBC's Peacock launches this April, and there will be some original series--aside from content from NBC, USA Network, Universal Pictures, Dreamworks, Telemundo, and more. There have been talks for a reboot of The Office. However, aside from the Saved By The Bell revival, there will be a new Battlestar Galactica headed out way from Sam Esmail, the creator of Mr. Robot.Info from Gamespot.com

CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games of 2020. Beyond looking like a supremely cool action-RPG from the team behind the Witcher franchise, Cyberpunk 2077 has Keanu Reeves. The John Wick star portrays Johnny Silverhand, the frontman of rock band Samurai. Luckily for us, McFarlane Toys is commemorating the occasion with Keanu Reeves action figures.A pair of Keanu Reeves action figures are available to pre-order at Walmart and GameStop. Both figures release April 8, about a week before the game's launch. Cyberpunk 2077 protagonist V is also available for pre-order in action-figure form. You'll want to pre-order at Walmart, as GameStop's price is higher for all three figures.Check out all of the Cyberpunk action figures below. For more on Cyberpunk 2077, we've rounded up all of the details you need to know ahead of its April 16 release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you still need to lock in your pre-order, we have a handy Cyberpunk 2077 pre-order guide outlining the special editions and bonuses.Cyberpunk 2077 Johnny Silverhand action figureJohnny Silverhand 7-inch action figure | $25First up is a 7-inch figure complete with a guitar, strap, booze, and a small circular stand. After placing him on your shelf, he'll provide encouragement any time you look his way by throwing up the horns. The 7-inch Keanu action figure is $25 at Walmart and $30 at GameStop. There will be a second 7-inch Keanu figure that comes with a gun and duffel bag, but that one isn't available to pre-order just yet. See at Walmart Cyberpunk 2077 Johnny Silverhand action figureJohnny Silverhand 12-inch action figure | $40For $40, you can get this 12-inch Keanu figure. This one is closer to a statue than action figure, which makes it justifiable to buy both. Keanu is obviously belting out the chorus to one of Samurai's songs. Make sure to pre-order at Walmart, because GameStop is charging $50 for the same figure. The Consumer Electronics Show is officially underway, and Samsung has brought out the big toys. On the floor of Las Vegas' annual trade show, the technology company revealed huge TVs that take up the entire wall.Samsung's new 292-inch TV filled up a display called "The Wall." According to GameSpot sister site CNET, the TV is "as bonkers as you'd imagine." While Samsung hasn't explicitly stated the 292-inch TV's resolution, a smaller version of the TV--which stands at 150 inches--runs at 8K. It's said the smaller TV uses the same modules as the 4K 75-inch TV Samsung debuted at CES 2019, so it's possible that the bigger one may have an even better display.Samsung gave a brief statement about the technological advancements, like those in MicroLED technology, that have allowed these massive TVs to come into existence. "New advancements for 2020 have allowed for larger-scale production of fixed screen sizes, including new 88-, 93-, 110- and 150-inch sizes."Check out "The Wall" in the photo below, courtesy of CNET.Gigantic TVs aren't the only piece of tech Samsung revealed at this year's CES, which runs until January 10. The company also showed off a new virtual keyboard that uses a phone's camera to track your finger motions. While the keyboard is only a prototype for now, there's potential for it to be used with mobile gaming. In other CES 2020 news, Sony teased that it will show "the future" during a showcase today, January 6, at 5 PM PT. The holiday season is finally behind us, and ahead lies a full year of exciting new game releases, announcements, and sales. But while you can expect to find even bigger discounts on last year's hit games and huge price cuts on the PS4 and Xbox One, there's one product that still rarely wavers from its MSRP: the Nintendo Switch. Even during Black Friday, the Nintendo Switch was conspicuously absent from all the major retailers' sales, and Nintendo's official holiday bundle featured the older model Switch without improved battery life. However, if you've been holding out for the new Nintendo Switch, there's a nice discount right now at Ebay, where a brand-new, factory-sealed console is selling for $286. As with all Ebay deals, that includes free standard shipping. This deal ends in two days.Sure, that's saving you about $15, but considering the console is still at full price elsewhere (and even sold out at Amazon), this is a solid deal if you're looking to pick up the new Switch this month. You could even spend that extra $15 to pick up some new games in the Nintendo Eshop, which has some nice Switch deals available right now. See new Nintendo Switch at Ebay The new Switch model's most appealing feature is, of course, the longer battery life, an important factor for those who prefer to play the system in handheld mode. The new Nintendo Switch has a battery life of 4.5 to 9 hours, depending on the game you're playing, while the old model taps out at 2.5 to 6.5 hours. Samsung has introduced a new TV at CES 2020 that is built to match your mobile phone. The 43-inch Sero can switch its orientation from standard widescreen to vertical "portrait" mode. The TV, targeted toward millennial and "Gen Z" customers, launched South Korea last year and is set to expand to more markets in 2020.CNET reports that the portrait mode is Sero's default settings, but it sports a motorized mount that can rotate the screen as needed. You can activate the motor using a button on the remote or the Samsung SmartThings app. If you own a Samsung Galaxy phone, you can sync the two so that your TV will switch whenever your phone does--which, given the number of times per day our phones switch orientations by accident, sounds awful. The vertical orientation is meant to look better when playing vertical videos like the ones found widely across YouTube. In theory, this functionality could be used for vertically-oriented games like retro shoot-em-ups, not unlike the Nintendo Switch Flip Grip. But that support would probably need to be applied on the developer side.Samsung also introduced an invisible keyboard, which uses your phone's camera to motion-track your fingers. CES is ongoing, so we expect plenty of other tech innovations coming out of the Las Vegas show. Sony has teased big things for its own CES briefing, but it's unclear whether PS5 will be on the agenda.Info from Gamespot.com

Alongside its massive 292-inch TV, Samsung debuted a brand-new 8K QLED model with some of the thinnest bezel in its product lineup. Whereas the display accounts for 95% of the surface of most TVs, that figure is said to increase to 99% for the Samsung Q950TS, which was revealed during CES 2020.GameSpot sister site CNET said the extra 4% of screen real estate on Samsung's almost bezel-less TV, which has a 2.3mm frame around the picture, "made a big difference." The screen goes from edge-to-edge, making the bezel near invisible from the front. With the TV itself being only 15mm deep, it has a similar aesthetic to Apple's iPad Pro--just blown up to a larger scale. Check it out below, courtesy of CNET.All screen all the time on Samsung's 8K QLED TVAccording to CNET's report, Samsung isn't just focusing on the resolution when discussing this new TV. Apparently, the 8K QLED TV will have new "local power distribution" tech to improve peak brightness by more than 20%, an Improved quantum processor capable of teaching itself algorithms to further improve picture quality, the same antiglare and viewing angle features found in Samsung's flagship 2019 models, and more. The company has yet to announce pricing and availability for the TV. It does come in three sizes though: 65-, 75-, and 85-inches.Samsung also unveiled a new virtual keyboard during CES 2020, which runs until January 10. The SelfieType is only a prototype for the time being and unavailable to the wider public. Still, there's potential for it to be used with mobile gaming, as the tech accesses a phone's camera to track the motions of your fingers. And of course, the technology company has other TVs it's showing off on the Las Vegas show floor as well, such as a new 43-inch model that allows you to change its orientation like a cell phone. The Consumer Electronics Show has only just begun. It has been reported that he is in talks to appear in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bale will join Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman in the fourth Thor movie. No details about Bale's character have been revealed so far. Thor: Love and Thunder will be directed by Taika Waititi, who also helmed 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, and arrives in November 2021.Waititi recently confirmed that the movie will start shooting in Australia this summer. Hemsworth stars as Thor, a role he last played in last year's Avengers: Endgame, while Portman will appear as Jane Foster once more. Portman had a small cameo in Endgame, but she hasn't played a major role in any MCU movie since 2013's Thor: The Dark World.
