It won't premiere until April, but at long last the first trailer for the upcoming fourth season of FX's anthology series Fargo has arrived. The quick look at the latest installment of the series is a serious trip back in time, as it centers on Loy Cannon, a 1950s mobster played by Chris Rock.As previously revealed, the new season of Fargo is set in Kansas City in the year 1950 and follows two criminal families--one African American, the other Italian--as they work together to control organized crime. The twist there, though, is that part of their deal to work together includes trading their oldest sons.Joining Rock this season are Ben Whishaw (Paddington 2), Jessie Buckley (Chernobyl), Jason Schwartzman (Saving Mr. Banks), and Uzo Aduba (Orange Is the New Black), among others. This marks the first major TV role for Rock since he appeared as the narrator on Everybody Hates Chris, a series he also served as the creator of.As for how much of the season is given away in the trailer, chances are you won't be too spoiled. During an appearance at the TCA winter press tour, Rock revealed productions is still underway and that he begins filming episode 5 this coming Monday, January 13.Fargo returns with its new installment on Sunday, April 19 on FX. The episode will then appear the next day on FX on Hulu.Info from Gamespot.com

The latest Pokemon-focused Nintendo Direct unveiled the upcoming expansion pass for Pokemon Sword & Shield, which will add new regions, Pokemon, characters, and Legendaries to the game. It was also revealed that you'll be able to unlock new Gigantamax versions of your starter Pokemon's final evolution in these expansions, with Rillaboom getting a huge drum set, Cinderace standing atop a ball of flame, and Inteleon picking up a rifle and setting up in a sniper tower.Yes, that's right--Inteleon's getting a gun.Inteleon, who can learn the move Sniper Shot and has the hidden ability Sniper, was always the Pokemon most likely to pick up a sniper rifle, but it's still somewhat surprising to see one of Nintendo's monsters with a gun in hand. One of the top posts on the game's subreddit right now is titled "So they just straight up gave Inteleon a gun huh?," mirroring the amusement and confusion many feel about this new character model.Naturally, fans have taken to Twitter to joke about this weird new piece of design. Warning: this post contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker contains several scenes featuring Leia Organa, Carrie Fisher's character from the previous entries in the series. However, Fisher tragically passed away before filming began, and many elements of the film had to be rewritten to compensate for her absence. While most of the footage seen in the final film is made up of deleted scenes from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, one shot set in the past was done using digital effects and a stand-in--Billie Lourd, Fisher's own daughter. In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Industrial Light & Magic visual effects supervisor Patrick Tubac has opened up about a shot that necessitated a body double.Late in the film, a flashback scene reveals that Luke and Leia trained together following the events of Return of the Jedi, and that Leia was a proficient Jedi in her own right. In the scene, Luke and Leia fight while wearing masks, but remove them at the end. Mark Hamill played Luke, who was digitally de-aged in the final shot, and Billie Lourd filled in as Leia. Lourd also has her own character in the trilogy, lieutenant Kaydel Ko Connix."It was a poignant thing, and something that nobody took lightly," Tubac says, "that she was willing to stand in for her mom."Elsewhere in the piece, visual effects supervisor Roger Guyett confirms that there's no cut footage of a ghost Ben Solo, as the effect was never created, nor were on-screen cameos of past Jedi like Anakin and Mace Windu planned, even though their voices appear. They also confirm that there are not extensive deleted scenes offering further explanation of Palpatine's return, at least not any that the effects team was involved with.Info from Gamespot.com

Final Fantasy XV is getting another mobile spin-off, this time as an MMORPG. The game, simply called Final Fantasy 15 Mobile, is said to take place parallel to the story of the main game and feature new regions to explore like continents floating in the sky.Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad said that this will be developed by JSC (from Korea) and GAEA (from China), and then published by Oriental Pearl in China. It's being made in Unreal Engine 4. It was originally announced in 2017, but the scope of the project has expanded into a full MMO with large-scale multiplayer features. Kotaku reports that it will launch in China in the first half of this year, and follow to other regions after. This will be Square Enix's third mobile FFXV game, but it's taking a very different approach than the others. The first, subtitled A New Empire, was free-to-play strategy game released in 2017. Then the next year, the company released Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition, a recreation of the main game with some minor changes--the most noticeable was a new, cuter art style. Pocket Edition was actually well-received enough to get ports on other platforms, including PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. This goes back to the roots of Final Fantasy XV, which was originally Versus XIII. It was meant to be an expanded universe for XIII as part of a number of spin-offs. Now that XV is the most recent numbered Final Fantasy, Square Enix seems to be taking a similar approach by exploring the universe from multiple angles.Info from Gamespot.com

The second season of Netflix's acclaimed crime drama Ozark arrived in August 2018, only a year after Season 1, but fans have had a much longer wait for Season 3. There has been little news since star Jason Bateman confirmed that the third season was on the way back in October 2018, but the streaming giant has finally confirmed its release date.Ozark Season 3 will hit the service in its entirety on March 27 via this short teaser. In addition, the first images from the new season have been released. They show Bateman and co-star Laura Linney as enterprising married criminals Marty and Wendy Byrde, who continue to develop their money-laundering business in rural Missouri, plus co-stars Julia Garner, Sofia Hublitz, and Skylar Gaertner. It all looks suitably moody, and there's an intriguing one of Marty seemingly stuck down a big hole. Check them out below:Netflix has also released a synopsis for Ozark Season 3. It reads: "It's six months later, the casino is up and running, but Marty and Wendy are fighting for control of the family's destiny. Marty preaches keeping the status quo. Aided by an alliance with Helen and drug cartel leader Omar Navarro, Wendy plots for expansion. But when Wendy's brother Ben comes into town, everyone's lives are thrown into chaos."In a recent interview, Ozark creator Chris Mundy explained how Season 3 would differ from the preceding two. "The third season to us is [about] what keeps you safe and whether or not hiding keeps you safe or attacking keeps you safe," he said via Indiewire. "In other seasons--between Season 1 and Season 2, certainly--we sort of left with a whole lot of plot we needed to answer, and we intentionally didn't leave ourselves with a whole lot of plot to answer for in Season 3. So it's more emotional within; we write everything through the marriage. So for us, it's all about that marriage."For more, check out GameSpot's guide to the biggest upcoming TV shows of 2020. You may have received all of the PS4 games you wanted over the holidays, but what about PlayStation gear? The PlayStation Gear Store is holding a New Year sale, marking down dozens of PlayStation-themed items, including mugs, water bottles, backpacks, and apparel. The sale includes items hailing from God of War, Uncharted, The Last of Us Part II, Bloodborne, and Ghost of Tsushima. Though most of the products are discounted roughly 50% off or more, you'll have to pay shipping unless your order reaches $80.Shipping costs vary depending on which products you buy and your location. For instance, I added a God of War mug to my cart and was quoted for roughly $7 shipping. Then I added a leather Bloodborne backpack to my cart, and the shipping cost went up to $8. I entered an address from a different state and received a different shipping cost for the same items.Needless to say, the sale may only be worth it if you buy multiple items. Thankfully, some pretty great PlayStation gear is up for grabs. You can browse the entire sale at the PlayStation Gear Store and check out some of our favorites below. The strategy RPG Wargroove is getting its first big piece of free DLC on February 6, according to developer Chucklefish. That date will bring the "Double Trouble" expansion to most platforms: PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The one exception is PS4, which will be getting the DLC at an unspecified later date.Double Trouble is designed to be ideal for co-op and features a new story with an entirely new faction. The new Outlaw Commanders include Wulfar, the twins Errol and Orla, and Vesper. You'll get access to two new unit types, Thieves and Riflemen. The update will also include new Arcade missions, new map editor features, and expanded options for Quick Play and custom campaigns. It will also be accompanied by a new balance patch for several units and commanders. The Double Trouble expansion recently caused some trouble for Chucklefish, as it received criticism for casting white actors to play three new characters of color. The outcry was enough to prompt a response from the developer, explaining its decision and promising to do better in the future.Wargroove is a retro-styled strategy game modeled after games like Advance Wars, though with a fantasy setting. GameSpot's review gave it an 8/10 for its deep strategy and suite of creation tools."Wargroove is a delight to play, and the possibility of an endless supply of content for it is a tantalizing prospect," wrote Chris Pereira. "Chucklefish could have offered up a prettied-up take on Advance Wars with online multiplayer and called it a day. Instead, it's made meaningful improvements that make this both a satisfying answer to starved Advance Wars fans' wishes and a genuinely great experience on its own merits."Info from Gamespot.com

The start of 2020 marks the beginning of a new decade, and that also means a bunch of brand-new anime series and films are debuting. In the following guide, we detail the eight anime series and movies that we're excited to watch and hope you consider adding to your watch queue too. The anime are not listed in any particular order. As always, GameSpot's seasonal anime guides only look at series and movies that are debuting during the current season and releasing in the US for the first time. So, for example, My Hero Academia Season 4 doesn't qualify for this Winter 2020 guide because the episodes that are currently releasing are just the latter half of the season that began airing in Fall 2019. Conversely, Weathering with You does qualify, because even though it has already been released in Japan, it's now debuting in the US for the first time.Haikyu: To The TopYou could know absolutely nothing about volleyball and Haikyu would still be one of the most compelling, infectious TV shows you could ever watch. This sports shonen series took the anime world by storm in the previous decade, transforming the competitions of one high school boys' volleyball club into high-speed spectacles with pulse-pounding stakes. The entire third season of Haikyu is just one match, and yet the series manages to maintain its intense pacing all the way through with its incredible characters, vivid animation, and well-structured story arcs.Haikyu follows the Karasuno High School Boys Volleyball Club, which was once a powerhouse but is now considered to be mediocre. That all changes with the arrival of two first-year students: Shōyō Hinata, who is short but athletically gifted, and Tobio Kageyama, who is ill-tempered but a genius. Together, the two can pull off a never-before-seen volleyball tactic that catapults Karasuno back into the spotlight. The fourth season, Haikyu: To The Top, sees Hinata and Kageyama striving to learn how they can contribute to their team's success without relying on each other. Winter 2020 will also see the release of two more Haikyu original video animations as well, Land vs. Sky and The Path of the Ball, which act as optional precursors to the latter half of Haikyu: To The Top. You can watch Haikyu: To The Top on Crunchyroll.Keep Your Hands Off EizoukenKeep Your Hands Off Eizouken isn't the first anime to be about people creating an anime, and it's not likely to be the last. But it's rare to see a piece of media so perfectly capture that first moment of inspiration that compels a kid to pursue their passion, or that euphoric sense of accomplishment when creative minds find their groove and begin bouncing ideas off each other. Plus, the three main characters are so immediately likable, it's worth tuning in just to watch them interact--especially Kanamori, who seems to hide a genuine affection for her friends behind an equally real desire to make money whenever and wherever she can.Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken follows three high school students: artistically talented Midori Asakusa, money-obsessed Sayaka Kanamori, and famous model Tsubame Mizusaki. Since elementary school, Asakusa has wanted to create an anime, and she finds a kindred spirit in Mizusaki--who wants to be an animator despite her parents forbidding her from doing anything related to anime. The two decide to come together and make an anime after the urging of Kanamori, who doesn't have a vested interest in either one's dream but can smell that there's money to be made with a big name like Mizusaki attached to the project. You can watch Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken on Crunchyroll.Room CampThough Laid-Back Camp exists in the slice-of-life genre, the anime is best described by its fans as "comfy anime," because bingeing the show will likely compel you to snuggle into a blanket with a cup of hot cocoa. Though episodes of Room Camp, a spin-off, are too short for you to comfortably transform into a member of Secret Society Blanket, the show offers the same adorably funny character interactions as the original series.Room Camp isn't Laid-Back Camp Season 2--though that is coming, don't you worry. Each episode is a nice bite-size of fun, as Ohgaki Chiaki and Inuyama Aoi drag Nadeshiko Kagamihara out of the Outdoor Activities Club to go on a journey to enjoy the food and sights throughout Yamanashi. You can watch Room Camp on Crunchyroll.BeaststarsLike last year's well-received Promare, Beastars tackles the complicated topic of discrimination, featuring two distinct, clearly labeled groups to make it easier to draw a more black-and-white parallel to real-world politics. Though still suitable for younger audiences, Beastars is definitely one of the more mature shows debuting this season--it doesn't shy away from violence and sex, deftly utilizing the two (sometimes simultaneously) to better explore both racism and sexism.Beastars takes place in a world of anthropomorphic animals and primarily follows high school student Legosi, a wolf who struggles with the unease of living in a society where all herbivores are suspicious and antagonistic towards carnivores. Things only become worse when one of his fellow students is brutally murdered, so Legosi takes it upon himself to learn the identity of the killer and displace the growing mistrust for all the carnivores on campus. At the same time, Legosi develops an attraction for Haru, a rabbit, and he struggles with whether to define his feelings as genuine love or the lust to feed on prey. You can watch Beastars on Netflix.Somali And The Forest SpiritSomali and the Forest Spirit is about a stoic adult going on a journey with a troublesome but cute-as-heck child they found, resulting in some truly adorable and heartwarming moments. Despite how cute Somali and the Forest Spirit is, though, there's an underlying sadness to it too, making for a story that you know is going to leave you feeling bittersweet--but you can't help getting invested in anyway.Somali and the Forest Spirit takes place in a world where, surprisingly, the fantastical beings are the dominant race and humans have been nearly driven to extinction. As the last vestiges of humanity are being snuffed out, a lone forest golem discovers an orphaned human girl, named Somali, who takes a liking to him and begins calling him "Dad." The two then set out on a journey in search of a place where a human can be safe, but, unbeknownst to Somali, all golems (as artificial beings) have a set lifespan, and her new father is quickly running out of time. You can watch Somali and the Forest Spirit on Crunchyroll.Weathering With YouHaving already debuted in Japan in July 2019, Weathering with You officially makes its way to US theaters this January. A romantic fantasy, Weathering with You is helmed by Makoto Shinkai, the same director behind 5 Centimeters per Second and Your Name. Narratively and thematically, Weathering with You is similar to Your Name, but whereas Your Name focused more on finding love through fate, Weathering with You is more about finding love despite fate.Weathering with You follows high school student Hodaka Morishima, who runs away from home to live in Tokyo only to find the city trapped in a perpetual rainstorm. He manages to get a job investigating urban legends, and his first assignment leads to him meeting Hina, a girl with the peculiar power to temporarily pray away the rain. The story in Weathering with You is brought to life through its superb soundtrack--both "Is There Still Anything Love Can Do?" and "Grand Escape" are notable standouts. You can watch Weathering with You in select theaters.In/SpectreIn/Spectre is a wonderful ride, interweaving a rather strange romantic comedy into a story about supernatural battles and murder mysteries. The initial hook of In/Spectre may be the desire to learn about the dark histories of its two heroes, but the story keeps you invested with their everyday interactions. Kotoko and Kurō have a lot of witty back-and-forth between them--even in the thick of battle--and the former's incessant romantic pursuit of the latter will likely elicit a few chuckles.Main character Iwanaga Kotoko is a young woman who, as a child, was kidnapped by yōkai, only to be returned with her left leg severed and her right eyeball removed. In exchange for these body parts, she gains the ability to interact with supernatural beings, and the yōkai task her as the mediary for the otherworldly. One day, she has the chance to talk with Sakuragawa Kurō, a man she fell in love with and has been quietly stalking for two years, and learns that he also has a history with yōkai--one far darker than hers. Unperturbed by what she learns about him, Kotoko forges a partnership with Kurō, and the two solve supernatural mysteries and dispatch violent yōkai together, all while Kotoko uses the opportunity to try and woo Kurō. You can watch In/Spectre on Crunchyroll.PetLike Beastars, Pet is a more mature story, delving into the psychological turmoil of self-inflicted pain for the betterment of others. The unsettling nature of Pet's narrative is juxtaposed against random moments of brightly colored imagery, occasionally bouncing back and forth between them in a disorientating way. Give this anime a few episodes before making a verdict on it--Pet is a bit confusing at first, but everything does fall into place eventually. The core conceit of Pet is the same as the video game Remember Me; this is a world where certain people, nicknamed "pets," can invade other's minds and alter their memories to fundamentally change the type of person they are. The process of destroying another's mind can take a tremendous toll on the invader, however, forcing pets to take precautions and set up mental blocks to protect their own memories. Main characters Hiroki and Tsukasa look out for each other as fellow pets, working in tandem for their shadowy employer and ensuring neither one loses themselves. You can watch Pet on Amazon Prime Video.Info from Gamespot.com

Fans of Dragon Ball will soon have a new game to get their hands on: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot releases on January 17 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Following the success of Dragon Ball FighterZ in 2018, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is just the latest in a long line of Dragon Ball video games, but while the main story won't include any surprises for longtime fans, Kakarot sets out to give fans something slightly different by introducing open-world RPG elements. If you haven't pre-ordered the game but are interested in picking it up on day one, there's a nice pre-order discount available right now at Amazon, just over a week before the game's release. The standard edition of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is currently on sale for $50 for both PS4 and Xbox One, $10 off the full price. You'll get free two-day shipping if you have Amazon Prime, as usual.Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot pre-order bonusesYou'll get some bonus in-game content as a pre-order perk as well. While you'll fight in iconic battles with characters like Raditz, you'll also experience life as Goku--training, eating, flying around, driving a car, and, uh, fishing using Goku's tail. Kakarot will also include side quests with "never-before-seen story moments," but the mainline story will focus on familiar events covered in the popular anime. Since 2005, people watching the NFL Super Bowl have had an option for their halftime entertainment. Sure, you could watch the NFL's halftime show, which is hit or miss depending on who is performing. Or you can watch puppies wrestle around in a makeshift mini-stadium for the Puppy Bowl. And this year, it's the 16th edition of the event is coming to Animal Planet. This year, Team Ruff takes on Team Fluff in the annual battle of the canines. There will be 96 pups competing from 61 different shelters, so if there's a specific dog you love during the event, you can bring them home. Chewy is providing adoption starter kits with everything you need for the dogs to make the transition into adoptive homes easier. In previous Puppy Bowls, 100% of the participating dogs found new homes after the battle for the Chewy Lombarky Trophy. Dan Schachner returns to referee the event, throwing flags for "roughhousing" and "being too cute."The pre-game show for the Puppy Bowl kicks off at 2 PM ET / 11 AM PT with the main event coming at 3 PM ET / 12 PM PT. Let's check out a few of this year's competitors in the event. I've picked the pups I find the cutest, which is totally subjective, so expect to see some pugs and bulldogs.Betty is so adorableAside from Betty the bulldog, here are a few other cute pups that will be in this year's Puppy Bowl: From left to right, Albert, Belle, Clarence, Comet, Dracula, Floofer, Kingery, Michael Scott (the best name of the bunch), and Squash. Other fantastic-named dogs that will appear but aren't pictured are Rooster, Rocky Road, Papaya, and Granny Smith. The Puppy Bowl comes to Animal Planet on Sunday, February 2 at 3 PM ET / 12 PM PT. If Animal Planet needs a special guest ref for any future event, I'm more than willing to help out, throw flags, and make cute faces at the camera. Seriously, hit me up.Info from Gamespot.com
