After first announcing it was in the works a year ago, Syfy's Child's Play adaptation, titled Chucky, has officially been ordered straight to series. The news was revealed at NBC Universal's TCA winter press tour day.Original franchise creator Don Mancini will serve as writer and showrunner on the series, and direct the first episode. According to a description from Syfy, the show finds "a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies--and allies--from Chucky's past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll's untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster."No details about those enemies and allies have been revealed, but it's hard to imagine Chucky carrying out too much mayhem without the arrival of his beloved Tiffany, voiced by Jennifer Tilly in the films. That all remains to be seen, though. In the meantime, you can sit back and relax knowing that the Child's Play series is actually happening. You should also cross your fingers that Brad Dourif returns as the voice of Chucky.Given the promise of old characters returning to the franchise as part of the series, it's worth noting that this take on Child's Play has no connection to the 2019 movie reboot, which saw Mark Hammill lend his voice to the maniacal doll. Sony is continuing to build it's own little Marvel universe outside of the well-established MCU. This July, Morbius arrives, and an alleged photo of the film's star Jared Leto as the titular vampiric anti-hero has leaked online.While the photo of Leto in the Morbius makeup is not confirmed by Sony, its arrival online is interesting as rumors of a trailer coming soon have been circulating. The upcoming film will follow a biochemist who tries to cure a rare blood disease he has but ends up turning himself into a vampire. The recent re-releases of Doom and Doom II for modern consoles and PC have received a significant upgrade, bringing in new content, quick-save support, and, for the first time ever, a higher frame rate. This update, first promised in December 2019, is free for anyone who owns the first two Doom games on PC, PS4, Switch, or Xbox One.The update allows you to play a variety of community-made episodes for both games, including Sigil, John Romero's own recent add-on. These can be downloaded for free from the game's main menu after you've updated. The frame rate has been boosted from the original 35fps up to 60fps, making both games faster and smoother than ever before.You can now quick save and quick load from the pause screen, too. A tap of R1/RB on the pause screen will create a quick save, and you can immediately load your most recent save from the pause screen with L1/LB.Other changes include a quick weapon selection feature, improved level select screens, and more options for the aspect ratio and brightness. Destiny 2 developers Bungie have announced the release of a new Destiny-themed shirt for next week, the profits from which will go towards fighting the fires across Australia, and saving the wildlife that has been affected by them.The fires across Australia have so far claimed over 2000 homes, at least 25 human lives, and over a billion animals. The effects have been catastrophic, with major cities covered in smoke, entire rural areas gravely affected, and volunteer firefighters being drafted in from other countries. Recently, Capcom teased that the Switch version of Devil May Cry 3 would contain "a little something extra" compared to previous versions of the game. Updates were promised on January 16, January 30, and February 13, but one of the major changes being introduced in the Switch version has already been revealed on the game's official website.Devil May Cry 3 on Switch will introduce a Style Change option, which will let you switch between Swordmaster, Gunslinger, and other styles on the fly. This will be the first time this option has been available in Devil May Cry 3, and updated screenshots show that your current style will be listed in the upper left hand corner of the screen."The new Style Change system allows you to experience the action through a number of unique Styles allowing for unprecedented variety," the website reads. Australia has been suffering from deadly wildfires over the last few months, leading to the death of people and wildlife and the destruction of bush, forests, and parks. Ubisoft Australia has stepped in with a contribution to help ease the crisis, with a note that explains its reasoning.A post on Twitter says that the company has donated $30,000 to the Australian Red Cross Disaster and Recovery Relief Fund. The note also says that the company has heard calls for in-game items to encourage donations, but it felt the development time for this effort would take too long for such an immediate problem. The action-RPG Magic: Legends was announced at The Game Awards, but the cinematic trailer didn't give much idea of how it would actually play. Now we have much more detail on that front, due to the February Game Informer cover story on the upcoming game.As an isometric action-RPG, at a glance Magic: Legends looks very Diablo-like. But according to the story, it pays homage to its roots with some very CCG-inspired mechanics. You'll have a customizable deck that you'll use to determine your spells, complete with colored mana pools to cast them.You build a deck of 12 cards, and hold 4 spells in hand at any time. Whenever you use a spell, it gets replaced by another card from your deck. You can mix up to two colors, just like in traditional Magic, but your mana pool with generate automatically and proportionate to your deck color. So if you have half-red and half-black, it will generate equal amounts of both, but if you skew heavily in favor of red, that will generate much faster than black. Your deck also feeds into the loot grind, as enemies will drop shards that you can use to upgrade your cards.These deck customization options are on top of class loadouts like GeoMancer and Mind Mage, which come with their own passive buffs. You'll also have access to summon points, which can be spent on foot soldiers or fewer (but much more formidable) monsters.In the game, you'll use these powers to take on enemies that are determined by a smart AI director, which will respond to player skill and performance to keep the challenge ebbing and flowing naturally. You can take on full-fledged campaign missions, or smaller "Ordeals" that offer a quick 10-minute loot loop. Season 4 of the hugely popular anime series My Hero Academia started screening on Adult Swim's Toonami in November last year. There's only a few episodes of the season left, but fans also have the new My Hero movie to look forward to. The film's release date has now been confirmed.My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising will be released on February 26. The movie will hit more than 1,000 screens across the US and Canada in both the subtitled Japanese-language version and an English-language dub.
