Rainbow Six Siege had a brief downtime on PC to implement a new patch with a number of fixes. The 4.2 update (aka Y4S4.2) is now live on PC, with a PS4 and Xbox One release date to be announced. The main focus of the patch is the so-called "Clash Exploit," a game-breaking bug that made the shielded operator overpowered. The exploit allowed players to fire her secondary weapon while her shield was still up, which made her almost unstoppable. Ubisoft disabled her temporarily while it worked out a fix, so with this patch live she'll be playable again on all platforms. The full patch notes also list a number of other fixes, including smaller-scale fixes to various operators, level design, and UI. You can check out the full patch notes below.Meanwhile, the Siege team is undergoing some significant leadership changes, as game directors Xavier Marquis and Alexandre Remy recently announced they were stepping back to work on other projects. The new game director, Leroy Athanassoff, will be leading the project going forward. We already know Ubisoft plans to bring the game to PS5 and Xbox Series X. A separate team is currently working on the PvE spin-off Rainbow Six Quarantine.Rainbow Six Siege Y4S4.2 PatchBUGFIXESFIXED - Clash exploitThe Clash exploit is fixed with this patch and we will be re-enabling her on live for each platform as 4.2 goes out. Sony is pushing forward with its Marvel-character universe that has nothing to do with the MCU. 2018's Venom raked in over $850 million globally. Now, the second installment in Sony's Marvel franchise is Morbius, starring Jared Leto as the titular vampire. We got a look at the character over the weekend through a leaked photo, but now the first trailer has been released. In the new trailer, which you can check out below, Leto plays Dr. Michael Morbius, a biochemist who learned he had a rare blood disease. He tries to heal himself but ultimately ends up turning him into a vampire, gaining fantastic abilities, at a cost: he has a need to feed on human blood. The living vampire Morbius made his Marvel Comics debut back in 1971 appearing in Amazing Spider-Man #101. While this isn't a part of the MCU, there are a few moments that have us scratching our heads, like a Spider-Man poster labelled "Murderer" appearing in the background and the inclusion of Michael Keaton, who played Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming. There's no way to tell if he's reprising his role from Homecoming in the trailer, but it's interesting nonetheless.Jared Leto released a photo when production began back in 2019, but there wasn't much going on in it. Morbius will be directed by Daniel Espinosa (Life, Safe House), and joining Leto in the cast is Matt Smith (Doctor Who) as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona (True Detective), Tyrese Gibson (Fast & Furious series) as Simon Stroudm, and Jared Harris (The Terror) in an unnamed role.Morbius arrives in theaters on July 31, 2020. The nominations for the 2020 Oscars have been announced, with movies such as Joker, The Irishman, Parasite, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood all securing multiple nominations. There have been a few surprises amongst the 92nd Academy Awards nominees, such as recognition for Parasite outside of the expected International Film category and the cinematography nomination for The Lighthouse. However, even more surprising are some of the omissions.Perhaps the highest-profile snub is for Adam Sandler and his role in the crime thriller Uncut Gems. Sandler has been highly acclaimed for his performance as New York jeweller Howard Ratner, and many thought he would score his first Oscar nomination for the role. In fact, Sandler himself stated that he would deliberately make a terrible movie if he didn't get a nod. Sadly for him--and possibly us--that nomination didn't happen. The comedy-drama The Farewell has proved to be one of 2019's biggest independent successes but was entirely absent from the nominations. Star Awkwafina's omission is particularly surprising given she won a Golden Globe for the movie earlier this month, and writer/director Lulu Wang was also snubbed.Awkwafina is not the only actress to deliver a much-praised performance in 2019 and then be ignored by the Academy. Jennifer Lopez won the best reviews of her acting career for the crime drama Hustlers but has had no awards recognition at all. Similarly, Lupita Nyong'o's astonishing dual role in Jordan Peele's horror hit Us was also snubbed. In an earlier decade, it wouldn't perhaps be surprising that a horror movie is ignored by the Academy, but Peele's Get Out was an Oscar-winner in 2018, and Nyong'o herself won Best Supporting Actress for 12 Years a Slave in 2013.Another high-profile omission was director Greta Gerwig, for her adaptation of Little Women. The movie itself has been nominated five times--including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay--but Gerwig was not recognized as director. This was also the case at the Golden Globe Awards earlier this month, leading to criticism about the exclusion of female filmmakers from the Best Director category.Of course, every year throws up surprises and snubs, and it's worth remembering that the Oscar nominations are voted on by thousands of Academy members. But some of this year's omissions do seems more glaring than in previous years, especially given the number of notable female and non-white contenders that were not on the nominee list. The 92nd Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, February 9.Info from Gamespot.com

Sony has released the first trailer from Morbius, the upcoming movie starring Jared Leto as the titular Marvel character. Due to Sony owning the rights to various Spider-Man-related characters, this was--like Venom--expected to be another movie starring a Marvel character that is entirely unrelated to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But the Morbius trailer suggests some connections to the MCU that we weren't expecting, with appearances of sorts from Spider-Man and Michael Keaton.Toward the end of the trailer, Leto's character, Dr. Michael Morbius, is seen walking down the street. In the background, we can see an image of Spider-Man with the word "murderer" spray-painted over the top of it. This could be nothing, or it could suggest Morbius will include some kind of continuation from the most recent MCU movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home. In a post-credits scene, Quentin Beck sets up Peter Parker by releasing doctored footage that suggests Parker killed Beck in cold blood--hence the graffiti. (Also of note: the Spider-Man artwork appears to be from Insomniac's Spider-Man PS4 game and feature a suit worn by Spidey in the Sam Raimi films.)Another possible connection comes at the very end, when a character played by Michael Keaton has a brief interaction with Morbius. Keaton, of course, played Adrian Toomes (AKA Vulture) in Spider-Man: Homecoming. It's impossible to say from this Morbius trailer if he is indeed playing the same character, but we do know he's still kicking around, as the conclusion of Homecoming sees him land in jail. It's possible that these are minor touches that won't have much bearing on the MCU, but it's still more than we expected to see. Perhaps these connections were part of the deal between Sony and Marvel/Disney that allowed Spider-Man to rejoin the MCU last year, or maybe they were always going to be included. If Keaton is playing Vulture but will go unnamed, and this is all just a cute game Sony's playing, it could lead to some confusion on the part of the audience. Whatever the case, it does raise new questions about just what is and isn't MCU canon. Update: Rockstar has clarified why Grand Theft Auto IV is no longer available to purchase on Steam. A spokesperson for the company shared the following statement with GameSpot:"Grand Theft Auto IV was originally created for the Games For Windows Live platform. With Microsoft no longer supporting Games For Windows Live, it is no longer possible to generate the additional keys needed to continue selling the current version of the game. We are looking at other options for distributing GTAIV for PC and will share more information as soon as we can."The original story follows. For reasons that are not clear, Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV is no longer available to purchase on Steam. A member of the ResertEra forum recently discovered that the Steam page for GTA IV no longer has a purchase button where it once was.The page does not offer any insight into why this is the case. Rockstar Games could not be reached for comment at press time.People are speculating that this has something to do with music licensing or how GTA IV still requires a Games For Windows Live account. Others are guessing that Rockstar might be moving GTA IV from Steam to its own Rockstar Launcher. For now, the real reason why GTA IV is no longer available to buy on Steam remains a mystery.PC Gamer reminds us that Rockstar removed GTA Vice City from Steam for a brief period of time in 2012 due to a copyright claim related to the Michael Jackson song "Wanna Be Startin' Something."Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas remain available for purchase on Steam. It's also worth noting that those who already own GTA IV on Steam can continue to play the title.Info from Gamespot.com

It will still be a while before viewers get to see Showtime's Halo TV series debut, but it's actually, officially happening now. After it was revealed in December that production had begun on the upcoming show, Showtime president of entertainment Gary Levine has shared a quick update.Appearing at the TCA winter press tour, Levine revealed that he and his fellow president of Entertainment Jana Winograde had recently traveled to the set of the series, noting it is "is currently shooting all over the city of Budapest." Unfortunately, there was no footage from the series to screen, but Levine and Winograde did come with the first photo of Pablo Schreiber in costume as Master Chief.Unfortunately, the image was for viewing in the room only and will not be released widely at this point. In the photo, Chief is seated on a ship in his full armor--helmet included. According to Levine, it's Schreiber in the costume, which looks like a spot-on recreation of Chief's classic armor. There's been a lot of discussion over whether Master Chief will unmask at some point, revealing Schreiber's face. Of course, in the games, Chief never removes his helmet. When asked by GameSpot about whether viewers will see Chief's face in 2018, Levine offered, "It is a key question and an important part of our series is all I'll say."After the success of The Mandalorian, which saw Pedro Pascal remain entirely hidden under a Mandalorian helmet, save for one small scene in the Season 1 finale, it seems entirely possible we will never actually see Chief's face.Of course, Schreiber isn't the only cast member in the Showtime series. We have a detailed breakdown of the announced cast you can check out. However, the most notable character, after Chief, is Natasha McElhone as Dr. Catherine Halsey/Cortana. The artificial intelligence that guides Chief on his journeys will play a big role in the series. While there's no release date for Halo announced at this point, it's expected to debut on Showtime in 2021.Info from Gamespot.com

The Witcher was one of Netflix's most popular releases in 2019 even though it was one of the streaming platform's later releases, with its first season debuting on December 20. Based on the sprawling book series by Andrzej Sapkowski, the TV adaptation had a lot of material to work with--an almost unwieldy amount. Our Witcher experts have tried their hand at explaining The Witcher timeline and even The Witcher book reading order, but now Netflix has stepped in to help newcomers to the series as well with their very own interactive map and timeline of the saga. They even have their own official dedicated page for it.Netflix's The Witcher interactive map and timeline. The timeline is split up into different tracks following key characters like Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri as well as a general overview of the history of the series' known universe, starting with the Conjunction of the Spheres, the cataclysmic event that allowed dangerous creatures into the World's dimension. Episodes of the show are also marked, as you can see above.Clicking around on key points on the timeline narrows into specific locations on the map, providing a brief description of the event and even some neat visual effects like weather. You can also use the search bar in the top left corner to bring up information on key locations, characters, beasts, races, and events in The Witcher universe, which includes their own mini timelines and links to related pages you can browse via the sidebar. The Witcher show has a wealth of Easter eggs and references related to the games and novels, so there's a lot here to dig into if you're a fan, and plenty to learn if you're new to the series.Season 2 of Netflix's The Witcher premieres in 2021--for what's coming this year, check out what's new on Netflix this week and all the Netflix original movies revealed for 2020 so far.Info from Gamespot.com

Apex Legends players thought they may have caught a glimpse of a teaser for the coming season, but it turned out to simply be a very unusual bug. A falling object that appeared to be a meteor was actually an error involving Gibraltar's Ultimate ability.GamesRadar reports that the rumors have been swirling since October, when several players started seeing a meteor falling from the sky. At least one captured and shared the sight, and it certainly looks like a meteor streaking through the sky and crashing into the ground.Anyone else spotted this??? It comes from triggering Gibraltar's Defensive Bombardment ultimate ability, but if he's killed after calling the airstrike, the missile comes in horizontally. More datamined sleuthing from Twitter user That1MiningGuy explained further disparities, like if his beacon grenade falls through the map.Apex Legends Season 3 began in October, but Respawn hasn't made clear when we can expect Season 4 to follow. Launched last January, it was one of GameSpot's Best Games of 2019--in part because of the updates that kept us coming back."Apex Legends was one of those games we kept coming back to throughout the year, whether it was to dig into new updates or just enjoy the thrill of claiming to be champions," wrote Michael Higham. "Never have we, the staff at GameSpot, been this excited to ask the question: where we droppin'?"Info from Gamespot.com
