While the James Bond series has focused around villains with world-ending plots only for the titular hero to stop, one of the most memorable parts of the movie is the opening title sequence. In each movie, a performer that epitomizes that era of music brings the viewer into the world of James Bond. And for this April's 007 film--the 25th in the series--the opening music will be performed by Billie Eilish, known for her breakout song "Bad Guy."Revealed on James Bond's Twitter, Eilish wrote the theme to the upcoming movie along with her co-writer and brother Finneas. This marks a special occasion for the 007 series as Eilish is the youngest artist in history to write and perform the Bond theme song.Eilish joins a group of iconic performers that kicked off each Bond movie, like Tom Jones, Madonna, Sheryl Crow, Adele, Duran Duran, and more. The score for the film will be composed by the legendary Hans Zimmer.Back in December, the upcoming film got a new trailer, which will be directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective). Doom Eternal is inching closer, and a new trailer from Id Software gives us another heaping helping of hellish carnage. This one is billed as a story trailer, but this being Doom, most of the story revolves around characters like Samuel Hayden and the denizens of hell talking down to the Doom Slayer. Which seems like a mistake.Sure enough, the vast majority of the trailer shows the Slayer ripping his way through Hell, sometimes literally. In the process he encounters a demon who calls him a usurper, equips a glowing sword, and just generally leaps and bounds his way around some nightmarish beasts who just realized they're having a very bad day.Doom Eternal had been delayed to March 20, 2020 late last year, to give the development team extra time for polish and finishing. The Invasion multiplayer mode is still planned to be added sometime after launch, and the Nintendo Switch version of Doom Eternal will be following after PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A Google Stadia release is planned as well. Doom 64 is being offered as a pre-order bonus, and will also hit on March 20.Meanwhile, Dave and James Franco are producing a pilot for a Doom TV show, ordered by the USA network. Destiny 2 has a long history of sneaking secret quests into the game when players least expect them. There's a bit of a lull in the Season of Dawn starting today, which marks the end of the four-week holiday event, The Dawning. But while it seemed like Guardians would get a week off before more content starts hitting the game, that's apparently not the case--a new quest has appeared, complete with some involved puzzles that the community is working to solve. The trouble is, the Corridors are a maze and the path through them isn't yet clear.To start the quest, head to Osiris on Mercury and talk to him. Claim the "Exploring the Corridors of Time" quest from him, then activate the Sundial to transport yourself back to the strange realm. After that, it's a matter of figuring out the path; the Corridors are a series of doorways that link to big rooms full of Vex, and each of the doorways is marked with a sign. Community members on Destiny's r/raidsecrets subreddit are currently working to determine which paths are required to navigate the Corridors and avoid getting lost.The codes denoting your pathway through the Corridors of Time appear on the obelisks. Read them starting with the top-right corner and going clockwise, with the final symbol being the one in the middle.As of this writing, six of the pathways have been cracked (and we've verified that they work), with the Corridors dishing out lore drops as you complete each one. The codes for each pathway are appearing periodically on the Sundial obelisks scattered around the solar system. They seem to be time-locked, with a new code appearing periodically, leading to a different lore entry Triumph each time. The paths lead you to a place called the Timelost Vault, and activating an object there (marked, ominously, with "???") reveals a bunch of symbols on the floor below that seem like they'll factor in later in the quest.Once you reach the Vault and activate it, you can keep walking forward to get teleported back to the beginning of the Corridors. Capcom has shared a new trailer for the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake. This one gives focuses on some of the heroes and villains that players will encounter during the course of the game, including the hulking antagonist, Nemesis.The trailer, which you can watch below, begins with Nemesis stalking heroine Jill Valentine through a blazing building. She is able to narrowly escape, and we see the game's other primary protagonist, Carlos Oliveria, come to her aid. The trailer also showcases other members of the UBCS who you'll meet throughout the story, as well as the menacing Hunter enemy.In addition to the trailer, Capcom has shared a handful of new Resident Evil 3 screenshots on its official blog, along with some more background details on the game's major characters. Build-A-Bear is entering the Baby Yoda plush wars. As reported by Business Insider, Build-A-Bear will release a build-your-own Baby Yoda within the next few months. Baby Yoda's arrival at Build-A-Bear isn't exactly surprising given the character's immense popularity, but it is quite exciting.Build-A-Bear CEO Sharon Price John announced the news at the ICR Conference, a large conference for investors in Orlando, Florida. Amazon's Lord of the Rings series, which has already been renewed for Season 2, is slowly coming together, even though it doesn't have a release date at this time. The latest event for Apex Legends, Grand Soirée Arcade, has officially begun. The limited-time event will continue through to January 28, offering seven brand-new modes to play and several new legendary character skins to unlock. The event launched with an accompanying update, which implemented several nerfs and buffs for different characters, bug fixes, and hints to Season 4 content.In terms of the playable legend meta, Gibraltar and Crypto have both been buffed while Wraith has been nerfed. Gibraltar now has a third passive: faster squadmate revival while inside his Dome Shield. Crypto's drone is now much harder to kill--having 30 health instead of 1--and the EMP it creates no longer affects squadmates' traps or slows them down. Friendlies will still take shield damage, though. Apex Legends News Apex Legends Season 4: When Does It Start? New Apex Legends Update Hints At Upcoming Season 4 Content Apex Legends "Meteor" Isn't A Season 4 Tease After All Apex Legends' Next Event Adds 7 Modes, New Legendary Skins When activating both Into the Void and Dimensional Rift, Wraith will now only move at the combined speed of both abilities without the added boost she had before. The cooldown to use Into the Void has been increased from 25 seconds to 35, which will make it harder to rely on the ability multiple times in the midst of a firefight or when escaping the zone wall.As stated before, the update also addresses several bug fixes--the majority of which are outlined in the full patch notes below. However, of note, is a fix to the bug that was causing the character select screen to only display your own skins, not that of your teammates. The community has been vocal about the issue since prior to the Holo-Day Bash event, so it's nice to see it finally addressed.The most interesting change in the update is the removal of extended energy mags, taking away the option to expand the overall clip size of the Triple-Take sniper rifle, Havoc assault rifle, and Devotion light machine gun. Though the Triple-Take's default clip size is unchanged, the Havoc's magazine is now 32 shots and the Devotion's magazine is 44. In the patch notes, Respawn writes "that the removal of energy mags seems a bit odd, but it will make much more sense with the release of Season 4," before going on to admit the change went live by mistake and wasn't supposed to until the start of the next season.Though it doesn't confirm it, the removal of extended energy mags does seem to support the rumors that the Volt submachine gun is coming to Apex Legends in the near future, continuing the trend of repurposing Titanfall 2 weapons for the battle royale. In Titanfall 2, the Volt is one of the best weapons for use on the move, as it has the best hip-fire accuracy of any firearm and excellent range. If the Volt is added to Apex Legends, it likely will be as an energy weapon. Amazon is currently working on two very big fantasy series. The first is Lord of the Rings--we recently learned new members of the cast--and the other is Wheel of Time. The latter is going to be a big series for the streaming service because there is a huge fantasy world that needs to be developed.At the TCA winter press tour, Amazon discussed creating the show and the challenges it faces when bringing Robert Jordan's books to life. "We've loved what we've seen so far," said Amazon TV co-head Vernon Sander. "As you know these big world-building shows take some time to craft. So there'll be more news as the year progresses on the series, but we feel incredibly optimistic about the show."Sanders wasn't the only person excited about the new series, even though it's early in the production process. Head of Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke was exceptionally optimistic about what they were producing. "Even though we haven't even seen the first cut, the material coming out of the production looks incredible."The Wheel of Time series follows an ensemble cast of characters in a high fantasy world, set in both the past and future of our world. Someone is destined to destroy a malicious force named the Evil One in order to save the world. Jordan's run on the series consists of 11 volumes. Pokemon Sword and Shield are getting two big expansions this year, each of which takes players to a new portion of the Galar region that's home to many new and returning Pokemon to collect. In all, more than 200 familiar Pokemon will be added to the Switch games this year, and you don't need to own the expansions to obtain them--all players will be able to collect the Pokemon through trading or by transferring ones you've captured in previous games via the Pokemon Home service.During the recent Pokemon Direct, developer Game Freak gave us a glimpse at some of the new and returning Pokemon coming to Sword and Shield with each expansion. We've listed all the Pokemon mentioned during the presentation below. Each expansion will also introduce some new versions of familiar Pokemon, such as Gigantamax forms of the Sword and Shield starters and Galarian Slowpoke, the latter of which you can catch now thanks to a recent Sword and Shield update.Sword and Shield's first expansion, Isle of Armor, is slated to launch this June. According to Game Freak, the theme of this expansion is "growth," and it'll take players to the eponymous island where they'll encounter a new rival character and an old man named Mustard, Galar's longest-reigning Pokemon League Champion and Leon's former mentor.The second expansion, The Crown Tundra, will follow sometime this fall. Its theme is "exploration," and it introduces a new co-op gamplay feature that allows you to explore Pokemon Max Raid dens together with other players. Lurking within these dens are a variety of Legendary Pokemon from previous games, as well as a handful of new ones.The Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion pass costs $30 USD and is available to pre-purchase now. Though Arma 3 originally released back in 2013, developer Bohemia Interactive has provided consistent support for the open-world military shooter ever since. The most recent expansion released just last summer, and it's never hard to find people online waging war across the huge sandboxes. For those who haven't given the realistic shooter a go, Steam is hosting a free trial until Sunday, January 19 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.To take advantage of the free trial, all you need to do is head over to Arma 3's Steam page and click the "play game" button. The free trial includes the base game and the Apex expansion. All told, you'll have access to a substantial suite of PvP only multiplayer and a pair of campaigns. The base game includes the single-player campaign, which clocks in around six hours, and the Apex expansion includes a co-op campaign for one to four players.In GameSpot's 8/10 Arma 3 review, writer Kevin VanOrd praised the game's clever tactical combat and its emphasis on giving users the ability to create their own scenarios. Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels have inspired two, action-packed movies grossing over $380 million worldwide. Now, it's going to be a TV series, coming to Amazon Prime Video.The newly greenlit series will be based on Child's first Jack Reacher novel, The Killing Floor, which was revealed at the TCA winter press tour. "Lee Child has created an incredible character and world; it will be the goal of every writer, producer, actor, executive and crew member to capture the essence of Mr. Child's books--and luckily, Lee has been there, and will continue to be there, to help guide us along the way in this series. He is the pulse of Reacher," said Nick Santora in a press release. Santora will serve as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner of the new series.Both Jack Reacher movies starred Tom Cruise in the titular role, though he will not be reprising it for this new series. During Amazon's TCA presentation, the company revealed that it knows that replacing Cruise is going to be a challenge. "We spent a lot of time talking to [executive producer] David Ellison about this, explained Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios. "We really are determined to find somebody who can embody that character for Lee [Child] and for all of us. We think that is a great thing and that's what we want to do. So you may see us take our time really making sure we find that person, whether they exist in our purview or they are a new discovery from somewhere. The PC gaming landscape welcomed a new entrant in 2019 with the launch of Fortnite developer Epic Games' digital store, the Epic Games Store. Epic shared new insight today that speaks to the enormous success of the store, which was driven in part by exclusives. Starting with the numbers, Epic said the Epic Games Store has grossed a total of $680 million so far, $251 million of which coming from third-party games (which is 60 percent ahead of Epic's projections). More than 300 million Epic accounts have been registered on all platforms, while 108 million accounts have downloaded at least one title from the store (either free or paid).The $680 million in revenue is ahead of expectations, Epic Games Store GM Steve Allison told GameDaily.One element that makes the Epic Games Store attractive is free games. Epic has so far given away 73 titles, and users have claimed 200 million of these games. In total Epic estimated the value of the 73 games to be around $1,455. Looking ahead to 2020, Epic will continue to release free games on a weekly basis.The most popular games on the Epic Games Store so far are The Division 2, World War Z, Satisfactory, Dauntless, Untitled Goose Game, The Outer Worlds, Borderlands 3, Metro Exodus, and Control. All of these titles were timed-exclusives for the Epic Game Store.The strategy to pursue exclusives has been controversial, but highly successful for Epic. Allison noted that these exclusives have "driven the majority of revenue" thus far on the Epic Games Store, though he noted that non-exclusives have also performed well.Epic CEO Tim Sweeney said the company plans to continue to pursue exclusives, saying they are "critical" to growing the store. "Securing exclusives for Epic means we can significantly assist developers with product funding and invest in marketing and awareness knowing that these efforts bring in new customers to our store, rather than just sending more business to the incumbent," he said.Some of the upcoming timed-exclusives for the Epic Games Store include Magic: The Gathering Arena, Predator: Hunting Grounds, Auto Chess, Rogue Company, and Godfall, with even more exclusives to be announced later.The Epic Games Store is theoretically attractive to developers because Epic only takes 12 percent of game sales, giving 88 percent back to the studios.
