Square Enix is hoping that there are folks out there obsessed enough with Final Fantasy VII to drop a few grand on some merchandise. The item in question is described on the Square Enix store as a "chronograph timepiece" which is a fancy way of saying "wristwatch." For a cool $2500 plus tax, you can roll up your sleeves and strut about town with a limited edition watch that will let you achieve "the truly heroic look of Cloud Strife."Manufactured by Seiko Instruments, the Cloud Strife watch has a stainless steel case with a mirrored finish and a blue sapphire glass crown inspired by Materia, which fans will know is an item from Final Fantasy VII. The product description notes that the watch has some design flourishes including "exposed mechanics of the all-glass back panel" and a Final Fantasy VII logo embossed rotor. There's also a "3D Cloudy Wolf emblem and finishing with a Mako inspired mother-of-pearl central disk."Just 77 pieces will be made per region, and each one will come with a special case. The watch is described as being an ideal "centerpiece of anyone's collection for years to come." Images of the watch are included in the product listing but these are a prototype and the actual product may be different. It's expected to release on March 31, 2020, but this is an approximate date and shipping may take longer for those importing. Additionally, once you make an order there is a no-cancellation policy, so you better be extra sure you want it.The good news is the Square Enix shop has free shipping on orders over $75, which this purchase would just about qualify for.The watch is designed in collaboration with K-unoNote: Cloud Strife does not, and has never, worn a wristwatch. The much-anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake was recently delayed a few weeks. The game was originally scheduled to launch on March 3, but will now arrive on April 10. This release date delay, according to Square Enix, was to give the development team a little extra time for finishing touches. "We are making this tough decision in order to give ourselves a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver you with the best possible experience," said producer Yoshinori Kitase. "I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, as I know this means waiting for the game just a little bit longer. Thank you for your patience and continued support."Final Fantasy VII Remake isn't the only Square Enix game to receive a delay this year. Marvel's Avengers was previously set for a May launch but this was pushed to September. Info from Gamespot.com

The Super Bowl is coming up this Sunday, but if you're not interested in football, there are still some great deals on 4K TVs. And instead of the big day of football, you can jump on the discounts in preparation for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. LG, Samsung, and Sony are all discounting several models of their 4K TVs on Amazon, and while there's no set date for when these deals end, we expect them to end by the time February 2 rolls around.A handful of LG's NanoCell and OLED TVs are on sale, as are Samsung's various QLED TVs. Sony has four of its 4K TVs discounted, all of which feature HDR support. 2019's Terminator: Dark Fate was a critical success but a commercial failure--despite strong reviews (including our own), it was the second lowest-grossing film in the franchise after the 1984 original (not adjusted for inflation). It brought in $261,119,292 worldwide on a $185 million budget (according to Box Office Mojo), which doesn't take into account global marketing; it is said to have lost around $100 million.Because of all of these factors, a sequel is unlikely, despite the film originally being planned as the first in a trilogy. But star Linda Hamilton has said, in the wake of the first film's failure, that a follow-up is unlikely, and that she's perfectly comfortable with leaving Sarah Connor behind. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hamilton responded to a question of whether she was hopeful of playing Sarah Connor again with an immediate "no". Fleshing out her response more, she laments the perils of big budget filmmaking: "I would really appreciate maybe a smaller version where so many millions are not at stake. Today’s audience is just so unpredictable."Continuing, Hamilton says, "It should definitely not be such a high-risk financial venture, but I would be quite happy to never return. So, no, I am not hopeful because I would really love to be done." However, she doesn't outright say that it will never happen again: "But, if there were something new that really spoke to me, I am a logical person, and I will always consider viable changes."Dark Fate director Tim Miller similarly seems unlikely to return for more Terminator, having previously talked about never wanting to work with series creator and producer James Cameron again. Terminator: Dark Fate is out now on digital, DVD, and Blu-Ray.Info from Gamespot.com

Halo developer 343 Industries has posted a gigantic blog post for Halo: The Master Chief Collection that covers a number of important topics about the PC and Xbox One game. One part of this is related to player bans. The next wave of bans will take place "soon," the studio said, so offending players should expect to get the boot in short order."It is unfortunate that many players are continuing to ruin the gameplay experience for others since our last round of bans," 343 said.343 did not say exactly who will be banned in this latest round, but it called out three offenses in particular that can lead to action being taken against your account. These include (descriptions written by Microsoft):AFK & Macros – This has been and will remain a bannable offense.Sword Lining – This is a bannable offense and falls under category of unsociable and unsportsmanlike behavior.Firefight Suicides once Max XP is gained – This is a bannable offense and falls under the category of unsociable and unsportsmanlike content. Those who believe they were banned without reason can submit a support ticket. You can visit this Halo: MCC page to learn more about the game's banning system. The blog post also touches on how the Forge mode for Halo: Reach on PC is coming along. The studio said it is currently "experimenting with early versions" of Forge on PC internally, but it's too soon to provide more details or an estimation for when the map-making tools may release. A work-in-progress screenshot is available on the Halo Waypoint blog.Currently, Halo: MCC on PC only includes Halo: Reach, but Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is coming up next, with Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 4 to follow later. The first beta test for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is coming up in February, but it's unknown when the rest of the games will be available to play. That being said, 343 said each title is moving through various stages of development, including Halo 4, which is now is up and running.Go to the Halo Waypoint blog to get more details on the status of each game and lots more on everything that's new and coming up for Halo: MCC on PC and Xbox One.The team working on Halo: MCC is separate from the one that's building Halo Infinite for release this holiday as a launch title for Xbox Series X. A new patch has arrived for NHL 20, and it appears to include some notable changes and improvements for gameplay and more.Starting with gameplay, the update fixes a "rare" issue that could cause the puck to stop completely when shot or passed on the boards. The update also fixes a bug that could cause the goalie to lose the puck when trying to cover it between the legs. The NHL 20 update also adds new interception logic tuning and improves player head tracking. Defensemen are now smarter, too, as their awareness attribute is improved. Additionally, players can now better intercept passes. In another bid to improve realism, the NHL 20 patch makes players less balanced and prepared when performing a pivot or skating backwards with the puck. And in what sounds like a welcome update, this new patch changes the tripping penalty system to now only trigger with an increased amount of contact from the stick on the legs or skates.Moving to presentation, the new NHL 20 update introduces new commentary for the broadcasters and the ability to skip the "Play of the Period" replays that some remarked went on for too long. The World of CHEL mode sees changes, too, as the Canal rink for EASHL drop-in 3v3 and 6v6 has been removed. And in terms of equipment, the True Dynamic 9 Pro helmet has been added alongside numerous new jerseys such as the Winter Classic jerseys for the Dallas Stars and the Nashville Predators. You can visit the EA Sports forums to see a full breakdown of the January 30 NHL 20 patch.Info from Gamespot.com

Star Wars Battlefront II has delayed a promised update that will let you play as BB-8 (and his First Order doppelganger, BB-9E). The update, which was meant to be available on January 30 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, has been delayed for some last-minute bug fixes. The update's delay was announced on the Battlefront forums, with a post stating that a "critical issue" was found during testing. The update will now release "early next week," although an exact date was not set. "We already have a new build going through its regular pre-release checks and things are looking positive," the post reads."Unfortunately, this is sometimes the reality in game development where testing continues right up until an update is deployed onto our live servers," it continues. "Although disappointing, we feel that it is much better that we found the issue now, rather than have it slip through and make it to our live servers." A definite release date will be confirmed soon. The post also confirms that BB-8 will be able to do his iconic "thumbs up" pose from The Force Awakens, which is very good and cute news. The update will also add two new Capital Ships to Capital Supremacy: the MC85 Star Cruiser and Resurgent-class Star Destroyer. Ajan Koss is coming to Hero Showdown, and there will be various "fixes and improvements" too. These are the examples given:Darth Vader will now be able to block while chokingAuto Players will be able to carry out melee attacksDroidekas receive an increase to their shield healthVO announcers will now mention the era-appropriate heroes that spawnFinn and Kylo Ren both have new emotes, which you can unlock via new milestonesAn update for the game back in December 2019 added content from The Rise of Skywalker, including a new map and costumes. The game original released in 2017 to less-than-stellar reviews, but has improved a lot since then, and has ultimately been very successful.Info from Gamespot.com

Need for Speed Heat's latest patch has added steering wheel support for the game across all systems, so you can now have a greater deal of control than a controller will allow for. The update, which landed on January 28, also added a few new functions to the game and introduced various fixes and updates.Heat will now let you use a steering wheel, and while EA has listed examples of wheels they have personally tested, they note that others may work as well. If you own any of the following, you're guaranteed to be able to play Need for Speed Heat with it:Thrustmaster T300RS (PS4, PC)Thrustmaster TX (Xbox, PC)Thrustmaster T150 (PS4, PC)Thrustmaster TMX (Xbox, PC)Logitech G29 (PS4, PC)Logitech G920 (Xbox, PC)Fanatec CSL Elite Racing Wheel (PS4, PC, XB1)PC players are advised to install the Logitech G Hub, regardless of the wheel brand they're using. It's also noted that you'll still need to use a controller to navigate some menus on all systems. The game is also adding a chat window, letting you send quick pre-written messages to other players during an online session without needing to use voice chat. They'll be assigned to the D-Pad buttons. You can also now pay real-world money for the "Keys" to the map, which will show every location and undiscovered street on your map, and cut down on the time you need to spend exploring. The various quality-of-life improvements, and a long list of bug fixes, are available to read in the update notes.Need for Speed Heat scored a 7/10 in our review, and reviewer Richard Wakeling said that the game "puts the Need for Speed series back on the right track" after a few dodgy installments. Battlefield V continues to grow, as DICE is releasing a major new update--Chapter 6--early next week. The free expansion includes more Pacific Theatre weapons and gear, as well as a new jungle map. That's not all that will be in the Chapter 6 update, however, as DICE has confirmed that the expansion will also include a much-requested feature: tank customization.Starting with the 6.2 update that is coming sometime after launch, DICE will unleash customization options so you can deck out your tank to make it unique to you. Pokemon Sword and Shield are getting two big expansions this year, each of which takes players to a new portion of the Galar region that's home to many new and returning Pokemon to collect. In all, more than 200 familiar Pokemon will be added to the Switch games, and you don't need to own the expansions to obtain them--all players will be able to collect the Pokemon through trading or by transferring ones you've captured in previous games via the Pokemon Home service.During the recent Pokemon Direct, developer Game Freak gave us a glimpse at some of the new and returning Pokemon coming to Sword and Shield with each expansion. We've listed all the Pokemon mentioned during the presentation below. Each expansion will also introduce some new versions of familiar Pokemon, such as Gigantamax forms of the Sword and Shield starters and Galarian Slowpoke, the latter of which you can catch now thanks to a recent Sword and Shield update.Sword and Shield's first expansion, Isle of Armor, is slated to launch this June. According to Game Freak, the theme of this expansion is "growth," and it'll take players to the eponymous island where they'll encounter a new rival character and an old man named Mustard, Galar's longest-reigning Pokemon League Champion and Leon's former mentor. The second expansion, The Crown Tundra, will follow sometime this fall. Its theme is "exploration," and it introduces a new co-op gamplay feature that allows you to explore Pokemon Max Raid dens together with other players. Lurking within these dens are a variety of Legendary Pokemon from previous games, as well as a handful of new ones. The Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion pass costs $30 USD and is available to pre-purchase now. If you do pick it up, you'll receive a Pikachu uniform and Eevee uniform for your trainer as a bonus. You can catch up on all the other news from the Pokemon Direct in our recap. Better Call Saul's fifth season premieres on February 23, and now we've got a proper full-length trailer to enjoy. The penultimate season of Better Call Saul will see Jimmy McGill practicing law again, and the trailer shows many other returning familiar faces, including Jonathan Banks' Mike Ehrmantraut, Rhea Seehorn's Kim Wexler, Michael Mando's Nacho Varga, and Giancarlo Esposito's Gus Fring. Also notable in the trailer is the return of Dean Norris's Hank Schrader, who has not been seen since the final season of Breaking Bad.The trailer doesn't reveal too many specific plot elements from this season, but it shows that the fifth season will feature the trademark stylistic flair of Vince Gilligan's Albuquerque saga. The shot from inside a drain pipe in particular is very impressive.(If you live in a region where AMC's YouTube is geoblocked, here's an alternate link.)Better Call Saul did not release a new season in 2019; instead, fans were given El Camino, a Breaking Bad sequel movie. January 2020 is here, which means a new batch of Field Research tasks is now live in Pokemon Go. Unlike the more story-driven Special Research quests, Field Research tasks are distributed through PokeStops. The first task you complete each day will net you a stamp, and each time you collect seven stamps, you'll achieve a Research Breakthrough, which will unlock special rewards like an encounter with a rare Pokemon.Last month, the Research Breakthrough reward was an encounter with a Legendary Pokemon, but Niantic is offering a different reward for January 2020. Each time you achieve a Research Breakthrough this month, you'll get a chance to catch a Lapras that knows Ice Beam or Ice Shard. This marks the first time you could get the Pokemon with either move since 2018.As previously mentioned, you can receive Field Research tasks at PokeStops, and the ones you get will be randomly taken from a larger pool. You can see the updated list of Pokemon Go's Field Research tasks along with the possible rewards they dole out below, courtesy of The Silph Road. There's plenty more happening in Pokemon Go this month. The Legendary Pokemon Heatran is returning to five-star Raids from January 7 to February 4, while the Hatchathon event runs until January 16. Pokemon Go has introduced a new way to evolve certain Pokemon. Just as in the mainline series, you can now evolve some Pokemon by trading them to a friend. However, this works a little differently than it does in a traditional Pokemon game, so we've put together this explainer detailing how to evolve Pokemon through trading in Go.How To Evolve Pokemon By TradingIn mainline Pokemon games, a handful of monsters can only be evolved by trading them to another player, but in Pokemon Go, these creatures could be evolved the same way as most other Pokemon: by feeding them a set amount of Candy. Now, however, there's an alternate method of evolving them: if you receive an eligible Pokemon through a trade, its Candy requirement will be completely removed, essentially allowing you to evolve it for free. While this new evolution method has only been recently added to Pokemon Go, it retroactively applies to past traded Pokemon. That means if you've previously received one of the eligible Pokemon through a trade, its Candy requirement to evolve will also be removed.Which Pokemon Evolve By Trading? The new trade evolution method applies to the same Pokemon that evolve by trading in the mainline games:Kadabra -> AlakazamMachoke -> MachampGraveler -> GolemAlolan Graveler -> Alolan GolemHaunter -> GengarBoldore -> GigalithGurdurr -> ConkeldurrKarrablast -> EscavalierShelmet -> AccelgorIn the main series, a handful of other Pokemon--such as Scyther and Onix--also evolve by trading if they're holding certain items, but their evolution method in Pokemon Go has not been changed, so you cannot trade for a Scyther and then evolve it into Scizor without spending any Candy; only the Pokemon listed above will have their Candy requirement removed if obtained through a trade.Boldore, Gurdurr, Karrablast, and Shelmet are among the newest Gen 5 Pokemon to arrive in the game. However, a handful of other Gen 5 Pokemon can only evolve using a new item called the Unova Stone. You can read more about how to obtain one of those and which Pokemon it works on in our Unova Stone guide. Warcraft III: Reforged is out now, and players who delve into the user agreement they must agree to before playing the game are finding that the terms and conditions have changed compared to the original release. Now, anything you create in Custom Games is immediately owned by Blizzard.Warcraft III has had a substantial modding scene, and custom games are an important part of the game's infrastructure. Now, Blizzard is looking to retain rights to anything created within Warcraft III: Reforged. USGamer picked up on the new wording in the game's user agreement, which states:"Custom Games are and shall remain the sole and exclusive property of Blizzard. Without limiting the foregoing, you hereby assign to Blizzard all of your rights, title, and interest in and to all Custom Games, including but not limited to any copyrights in the content of any Custom Games. If for any reason you are prevented or restricted from assigning any rights in the Custom Games to Blizzard, you grant to Blizzard an exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, unconditional, royalty free, irrevocable license enabling Blizzard to fully exploit the Custom Games (or any component thereof) for any purpose and in any manner whatsoever."This is likely sparked by the success of Defense of the Ancients (Dota), which started as a community-made mod of Warcraft III and eventually spawned a Valve-developed sequel, Dota 2, as well as the whole MOBA genre. Blizzard seemingly wants to ensure that if anyone invents a new genre, or creates a breakout title in Warcraft III, they are not left out of potential profits. However, players are also now welcome to take donations for the creation of their work, allowing top Warcraft III modders to theoretically directly profit from their work. For more on Warcraft III: Reforged, check out our huge interview with lead producer Pete Stilwell.
