While Disney+'s The Mandalorian--which has a new season coming this fall--took place after Return of the Jedi, the series sure did have a lot of Stormtroopers and Empire officers hanging about. And one of the cool Imperial vehicles from the final episodes of Season 1 can be yours to own, in toy form.Hasbro is releasing the Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Imperial Troop Transport Vehicle this spring. It's the giant vehicle during the season finale that all the Stormtroopers got out of when Mando and company were hiding in the bar. It's currently available for pre-order at various retailers, and you can check out some images of the toy below. See at Best Buy See at GameStop While the press release for the vehicle states it will release in the spring, Best Buy has the release date listed as March 16, while GameStop lists it as March 1. The Imperial Transport will cost $70, and it features a removable roof, opening doors, fold-down seating, and movable turret. The new toy is actually inspired by the original Kenner vehicle which was released in 1979.From the looks of the images, you can seat seven 3.75" figures into the transport. Like the rest of the Vintage Collection from Hasbro, the figures and vehicles recreate the world of Star Wars with incredible detail, and while you can play with them--and why wouldn't you?--the Vintage Collection toys also look pretty sweet displayed around the house. The products discussed here were independently chosen by our editors. PlayStation is shuttering one of its UK game studios. The company confirmed to GI.biz that it will close its studio in Manchester, England, which was working on a virtual reality title. The closure is related to PlayStation's ambitions to "improve efficiency and operational effectiveness." The report says every employee is being laid off, though a specific number was not disclosed. The Manchester studio was founded in 2015. It was working on an unannounced VR game, and the status of this project is now in question. It's unknown if it is canceled or if development will shift to a different studio.Whatever the case, this is just the latest UK game studio closure for PlayStation. In recent years, the company shut down Guerrilla Cambridge and Evolution. PlayStation still has two studios in the UK, including Media Molecule (LittleBigPlanet, Dreams) and London Studio (Blood & Truth).2020 is a big year for the PlayStation brand, as Sony is launching the PlayStation 5 this year. Just recently, Sony launched the PS5 website, though it doesn't contain much information.Info from Gamespot.com

Battlefield 5's big new update, Into the Jungle, has arrived--a bit ahead of schedule. The free expansion's biggest and most notable addition is the huge new map, Solomon Islands. It's now been discovered that this map contains a deadly surprise--a crocodile lurking in the water.A new video from Battlefield content creator Westie shows off this crocodile--and as you might have guessed, it bites! This croc will probably kill you if you don't swim away fast enough, as it appears to do 35 damage when it bites. The crocodile isn't the first underwater animal threat in Battlefield 5, as the game also features sharks in some of its waters. Previous games featured even bigger creatures, including a Megalodon easter egg. Some lovely Solomon Islands jungle map gameplay! Here's a quick clip of me, @jackfrags & @Bongeh finding the Crocodile... and he bit me! ðŸŠFull video here â–¶ï¸ https://t.co/rPGksxBS6g#BattlefieldV pic.twitter.com/0UUAle4SXp — Westie (@MrProWestie) February 4, 2020The Solomon Islands map isn't the only part of Into the Jungle that went live early. The M2 Carbine rifle and the Model 37 shotgun also dropped in ahead of schedule. Instead of removing them, DICE has decided to not only keep them in the game but make them instantly unlocked for all players. They will become default weapons, so you will find them in your loadout menu the next time you log in.Also now available in Battlefield V are two new gadgets--the M1A1 Bazooka and the Lunge Mine--and a new Elite character, Misaki Yamashiro. Season 4: Assimilation is live in Apex Legends, putting an end to Year 1 and launching the battle royale game into Year 2. The new season adds a bunch of content to the game, including new playable character Revenant and the new Sentinel sniper rifle. It also makes numerous changes to how the battle royale works too, with most of the adjustments aimed at weapons. One weapon, in particular, seems to be screwed more than most: the Havoc. The Havoc assault rifle was Apex Legends' first new weapon, added to the game before the start of Season 1: Wild Frontier. An energy weapon, the Havoc set itself apart by being the only firearm to support two different hop-up attachments: the Select Fire and Turbocharger. With Select Fire equipped, the Havoc could change between an assault rifle and a sniper. Meanwhile, the Turbocharger removed the Havoc's windup time, allowing you to quickly dispatch opponents at close- to mid-range with the gun's overwhelming bullet output. However, Season 4 removes the Turbocharger attachment from Apex Legends--much how Season 3: Meltdown removed Skullpiercer and Disruptor Ammo (and no, sadly, Season 4 does not bring either of those two back). The Havoc and Devotion were the only two Apex Legends weapons that supported Turbocharger, though the Devotion isn't affected by the change. The Devotion and L-Star have been switched (the L-Star is now a standard energy weapon that can be found anywhere and the Devotion is now a golden energy weapon found in Care Packages) so the Devotion comes with a Turbocharger already. The Havoc is not as lucky. This sucks for the Havoc in two ways. For one, the gun is no longer unique--the core of its identity was that it could transform in two different ways. And second, the Havoc's default fire isn't all that good. It needs a Turbocharger to be competent in the late-game. To make up for the nerf, Respawn has buffed the Havoc in other ways (most notably, reducing the horizontal recoil). These changes should make the Havoc easier to control, but it remains to be seen whether this is enough to keep people going back to the energy assault rifle. If you want a long-range energy weapon, the Triple Take is a better option. Likewise, now that it's a common gun that you can loot anywhere, the L-Star makes for a stronger close-range option. It's difficult to discern where the new Havoc is now supposed to fit into Apex Legends' meta. Season 4: Assimilation adds Revenant as a new playable character in Apex Legends, and the synthetic nightmare even gives Caustic a run for his money when it comes to creepy one-liners (though it's cute that Caustic is the only one who doesn't bully him). But Revenant isn't the only scary change to Apex Legends; Bloodhound's new buff has transformed them into a terrifying hunter. In Season 4, two legends got new buffs: Crypto and Bloodhound. Crypto can no longer destroy friendly Gibraltar Dome Shields with his EMP, giving the recon legend the chance to safely use his ultimate ability while teaming up with the friendly giant. Honestly, it's only an okay change--the buffs to Crypto in late Season 3 seem a lot better.Bloodhound, on the other hand, got a great buff. Bloodhound's ultimate ability, Beast of the Hunt, allows them to easily track enemies to wherever they're hiding by marking the path someone took while moving around the map. Originally, the ability only lasted a little over half a minute. Now, Beast of the Hunt can be extended by five seconds for every target that Bloodhound downs.Note that this effect only requires you down an enemy--you don't actually have to kill them in order to lengthen Beast of the Hunt. So if you manage to down the two members of a squad and then defeat a third enemy from another, netting you an extra 15 seconds of Beast of the Hunt, you could possibly have enough time to track down and finish off that second team.Beast of the Hunt is already a terrifying ability. Bloodhound elicits a monstrous roar when it activates and there's no way to really counter the skill other than finding a way to run away without touching anything (fly through the air on an Octane Jump Pad, for instance, or disappear Into the Void with Wraith). And now the hunter can extend the duration of their hunt just by using it for its intended purpose: taking targets out. Imagine trying to run from a Bloodhound, knowing that as your teammates fall behind you, their sacrifice is only extending the chance that your foe will have enough time to ultimately hunt you down. Disney+ got off to a very strong start following its release in November. Disney reported today that the streaming service had 26.5 million paying subscribers as of December 28, 2019, and a total of 28.6 million as of February 3."The launch of Disney+ has been enormously successful, exceeding even our greatest expectations," Disney CEO Bob Iger said on the company's earnings call, according to The Hollywood Reporter.Analysts anticipated subscribers to reach up to 25 million for the period, so the numbers are ahead of expectations. Disney+ costs $7-per-month in the United States, which is below the monthly cost of a Netflix subscription. The average revenue per Disney+ subscriber for the period was $5.56. Driving that figure down were a number of promotions, including free Disney+ for Verizon users and pre-sale bundles that offered discounted rates for those who sign up for three years. According to Iger, 20 percent of Disney+ users came to the platform from the Verizon freebie. As such, Disney+'s profit profile should get better over time as the discounts expire.By comparison, Netflix had 167 million paying subscribers globally by the company's latest count.Disney's other streaming service, Hulu, had 30.4 million paying subscribers by the end of 2019, while ESPN+ had 7.6 million subscribers. Disney's streaming business--across Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and others--remains a money-loser for the company. This segment posted a loss of $693 million during the period, but this is all to be expected as Disney builds the infrastructure. As announced previously, Disney expects Disney+ to turn a profit in 2024. The company also expects to have as many as 90 million Disney+ subscribers by 2024.Notably, Disney+ is only available in a limited number of countries thus far. Disney plans to continue to roll out the platform in other parts of the world throughout 2020 and beyond. One of the most highly touted pieces of content on Disney+ right now is the Star Wars TV show, The Mandalorian (which returns for a second season in October 2020). Looking beyond that, Iger teased that Disney is considering spin-offs based on The Mandalorian characters, though he did not single out any characters in particular. The executive also said Disney will focus on Disney+ for future Star Wars projects, at least for the next few years.Even more news came out of the Disney earnings call today--check out the stories below to learn more.Disney Plus The Falcon And Winter Soldier And WandaVision Get Rough Release DatesDisney Plus Has Seven Marvel Series In DevelopmentThe Mandalorian Season 2 Release Date Set For October On Disney Plus Info from Gamespot.com

DC's next big comic book movie, Birds of Prey, comes to theatres this weekend. It's expected to have a huge opening at the box office, where it's projected to pull in between $110 million-$125 million globally for the three-day weekend, according to Deadline. The movie was produced on a $97.1 million budget, which drops to $84.5 million after California's tax credits, so Deadline estimates it won't have trouble turning a profit.Birds of Prey is a spin-off of Suicide Squad. That movie made $133.3 million over its opening weekend back in 2016. One important distinction between the two is that Suicide Squad released during the summer, while Birds of Prey is premiering in February.Early social media commentary on Birds of Prey has been overwhelmingly positive. Official reviews will start to appear on Wednesday, February 5, so keep checking back for more.Margot Robbie stars as Harley Quinn, alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, and Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya. Star Wars actor Ewan McGregor plays the bad guy, Black Mask. Birds of Prey is directed by Cathy Yan. Info from Gamespot.com

2020 is a big year for the PlayStation brand, as Sony is releasing the PlayStation 5 this holiday. We've learned a little about the next-generation console so far, like its faster loading times, but there are many questions that remained unanswered. One big one is about pricing. What will the PS5 cost? Sony management responded to that question during an earnings call, saying those details might depend on other factors, including the competition. This is presumably a reference to the Xbox Series X, which also doesn't have a price point yet."What is not very clear or visible ... is because we are competing in the space," CFO Hiroki Totoki said, though a translator. "So it is very difficult to discuss anything about the price at this time. Depending upon the price level, we may have to determine the promotion that we are going to deploy, and how much cost we are prepared to pay. So it is a question of balance."It is difficult to speak concretely about PS5 pricing at this stage, Totoki said, but fans and investors can be sure that Sony will "choose the optimal approach."For comparison, the PS4 launched in 2013 at $400 USD, while the Xbox One--which included a Kinect with every console--debuted the same year at $500 USD.Currently, Sony is focused on nailing down the production and sales elements of the PS5 launch strategy, in addition to securing the right volume of consoles for launch, Totoki said. The PS5 launches this year as the PlayStation 4 continues to drop off in sales. The 6.1 million PS4 consoles sold during the holiday quarter is down 25 percent year-over-year, representing the lowest holiday sales figure ever for the console. In total, the PS4 has now sold 108.9 million units, which makes it the second most successful console in history--it only trails the PS2 (150 million sales). In other news, Sony has launched the PlayStation 5 website--but don't expect much. A new month has arrived, and that means there's a new batch of Field Research tasks in Pokemon Go. As usual, February's Field Research tasks can be obtained by spinning the Photo Disc at PokeStops, and completing them will earn you rewards, which can range from helpful items like Berries and Poke Balls to encounters with certain Pokemon. On top of those rewards, the first Field Research task you complete each day will also net you a stamp. Each time you collect seven stamps, you'll achieve a Research Breakthrough, which will earn you additional rewards, including an encounter with a special Pokemon. Last month's Research Breakthrough reward was Lapras that knew Ice Beam or Ice Shard, but this month, you'll have a chance to catch a new Gen 5 Pokemon instead: Woobat. The Field Research tasks you obtain will be randomly drawn from a larger pool, so there's no telling which ones you'll receive. Up to three Field Research tasks can be active at a time, but you can discard any that may be giving you trouble and receive a different task from another PokeStop. You can see the updated list of Pokemon Go's Field Research tasks--along with the possible rewards they dole out--below, courtesy of The Silph Road.February is shaping up to be a particularly busy month for Pokemon Go. Niantic has a ton of events lined up for this month, including a Sinnoh celebration that will make it easier to find Gen 4 Pokemon and a new Team Rocket Special Research quest that will lead to a chance to catch Shadow Raikou. This month will also bring a few more Gen 5 Pokemon to the game, including the Legendary Tornadus.February's Community Day, meanwhile, is set for Saturday, February 22. This time around, Niantic let players vote on what the featured Pokemon is. The results of the voting will be announced on February 3. The Super Bowl is known for its big-budget commercials, hocking everything from snacks to beer to life insurance. This year one surprise inclusion caught attention, by reuniting several members of the original cast of the classic comedy Groundhog Day to create a pseudo-sequel.Bill Murray reprises his role as Phil Connors, who wakes up once again in the little town of Punxsutawney on Groundhog Day--when the Super Bowl happened to take place. But as he's going through the familiar motions of his repeated day, he notices a Jeep Rubicon, and proceeds to have a series of adventures with the vehicle and a kidnapped groundhog sidekick.Murray is the standout, but the commercial also features Stephen Tobolowsky returning as the obnoxiously high-spirited Ned (Ned Ryerson!) and a brief appearance by Brian Doyle-Murray as the Punxsutawney mayor, Buster Green. It even uses Sonny and Cher's "I Got You Babe" as the familiar music cue.The commercial's pitch--that Phil doesn't mind being stuck in an endless loop because he's having such a blast--is a solid one, and it's shot and scripted largely like the 1993 movie from director Harold Ramis. The advertising circular AdWeek called the spot "genius."Check out more of our favorite Super Bowl ads and the biggest movie and TV trailers.Info from Gamespot.com

If you're looking for new things to watch, it's the best time of the month. We're already a few days into February and Netflix has announced what's new to its streaming library for the coming weeks. There are tons of movies and TV shows headed your way to binge-watch to your heart's content this month. Figuring out what to watch can be a chore, but GameSpot has a few recommendations for you as well, including some must-see original series. Here's what's new on Netflix in February and the full list of what's leaving.Locke & Key is the latest comic book adaptation to hit Netflix, arriving on February 7. Based on the Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez comic of the same name, Locke & Key follows a widow and her children as they move into their ancestral home after the mysterious murder of the patriarch of the family. Inside this house are mysterious keys with mystical powers that have some connection to the murdered father. You can watch the first trailer here.Season 2 of Altered Carbon arrives on February 27. The sci-fi series returns, and a teaser was recently revealed for the show. Anthony Mackie stars in the new episodes as main character Takeshi Kovacs. In a show about transferring consciousnesses into new bodies, recasting the star of the show isn't a big deal. Netflix's official synopsis of the series has arrived as well: "Altered Carbon Season 2 finds Takeshi Kovacs, the lone surviving soldier of a group of elite interstellar warriors, continuing his centuries-old quest to find his lost love Quellcrist Falconer. After decades of planet-hopping and searching the galaxy, Kovacs finds himself recruited back to his home planet of Harlan's World with the promise of finding Quell. Haunted by his past and responsible for investigating a series of brutal murders, Kovacs is stunned to discover his new mission to solve the crime and his pursuit to find Quell are one and the same. With the help of his loyal A.I. Poe, Kovacs must now partner with new allies to outwit his enemies and find the truth: Who is Quellcrist Falconer?" You can relive all the wacky adventures of your favorite characters you barely remember like Mahoney, Hightower, Tackleberry, and more. Personally, I recommend the fourth film in the franchise, Citizens on Patrol (its acronym is C.O.P., get it?), as the movie features David Spade as an '80s skateboarder.Below, you'll find all of this month's releases for Netflix. The post-apocalypse is a terrifying situation, filled with threats of zombies, barren wastelands, and a lack of resources. However, it's hard to deny just how much fun they are--at least in video games. Some of our favourite PC games are based in the post-apocalypse, and GOG's latest weekly sale revolves around them. Quite a few PC games have been discounted, almost all of which ask you to survive the elements and monstrous hordes--and also the cutesy farming game, My Time At Portia, for some reason.Thankfully, My Time At Portia is also very good, and it's well worth the discounted $15 USD price. Other games that are worth checking out include Frostpunk for $12, Dying Light: The Following Enhanced Edition for $18, and Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden for $17.49. I also recommend This War Of Mine for $5 and Wasteland 2: Director's Cut for $12.One of my favourite series is also on sale. Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux both see deals, and they're both excellent games set in the underground tunnels and dangerous surface world of post-apocalyptic Russia. The conclusion to the trilogy, Metro Exodus, released on the Epic Games Store last year and is expected to release for everyone on Steam on February 14--those who pre-ordered the game prior to the announcement of its Epic Games Store timed-exclusivity were able to play it on Steam. The sale runs through February 10, and like a survivor clawing through abandoned houses to find supplies, we've looked through all of the deals and pulled out the best ones. You can see our curated list below, but be sure to check out the full PC games sale at GOG to see everything that's being offered.PC game dealsAtom RPG: Post-Apocalyptic Indie Game -- $11.24 ($15)Chernobylite -- $21 ($30)Deadlight: Director's Cut -- $3 ($12)Dying Light: The Following Enhanced Edition -- $18 ($60)Elex -- $16.49 ($50)Fade to Silence -- $15 ($30)The Flame in the Flood -- $3.74 ($15)Frostpunk -- $12 ($30)Metro 2033 Redux -- $5 ($20)Metro: Last Light Redux -- $4 ($20)Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden -- $17.49 ($35)My Time At Portia -- $15 ($30)Primordia -- $3 ($10)Rain World -- $8 ($20)Sheltered -- $3.74 ($15)Skyhill -- $1.49 ($15)This War Of Mine -- $5 ($20)Wasteland 2: Director's Cut -- $12 ($30)Info from Gamespot.com

The launch trailer for Season 4: Assimilation, the new season for Apex Legends, has released just ahead of the battle royale game's birthday and the start of Year 2. It's embedded below if you haven't seen it yet. The trailer showcases Revenant's abilities, the upcoming map changes to World's Edge, and the new Sentinel sniper rifle in action. On Apex Legends' main website, Respawn wrote that the Season 4 map changes are "to get players to make new decisions." The developer added that its goal this season is to "offer new ways for you to approach the game, and in this case the map, so that each drop, rotation, and gunfight feels as fresh as possible."The most notable change coming to World's Edge is the Planet Harvester, which is replacing Fuel Depot in the middle of the map. It's pretty big--featuring an enclosed multilevel design. "Fights are largely self-contained as squads will tend to enter the fight through the long hallways that lead to the center of the structure," Respawn wrote. "This should make 3rd parties a little more predictable and hopefully easier to defend against."Capitol City will also be cut in two with the start of Season 4, with a river of lava separating the two halves. Thus, the single landmark will now be two--Fragment East and Fragment West. There are three surefire ways for any squad to cross the lava: a zipline, a bridge, and gliding on the heat updraft from the lava. The zipline is fast but leaves you exposed. The bridge gives you a bit more cover but you may encounter another squad coming from the other side. You can ride the lava updraft from anywhere along the river, but doing so is slow and you'll take 25 damage. If you have a Pathfinder or Octane on your squad, their ultimate abilities can be used to cross as well. The final change occurs in the small outcropping of fields and jagged hills in the space between Epicenter, Skyhook, and Refinery. In Season 3: Meltdown, there was no reason to go there, unless you were looking to redeploy or resurrect your teammates. In Season 4, however, you'll now find the new Survey Camp landmark. In the Survey Camp, you'll find new weapon racks, which guarantee certain weapons every time you drop there--giving you the option to land somewhere where you may not get the armor and items you want but can always find the same collection of weapons if you have a favorite loadout you always want.Respawn has also teased that these aren't the only changes coming to World's Edge before the transition to Kings Canyon in the latter half of Season 4. One more legend will have a town takeover before the transition. So far, Octane, Wraith, and Mirage have had town takeovers, so the new one will likely be themed around one of the other nine.
