Gigantamax Toxtricity has arrived in Pokemon Sword and Shield, but it isn't the only Gigantamax Pokemon you're likely to find in the games. A handful of other G-Max Pokemon are appearing more often in the Wild Area for a limited time, including an awesome new form of Kingler.Right now, Pokemon Sword players are more likely to encounter Gigantamax Kingler and Grimmsnarl in Max Raids, while Shield players are more likely to find Gigantamax Hatterene and Orbeetle. Gigantamax Toxtricity, meanwhile, is appearing in both games, although its form will vary by version; in Sword, Toxtricity will be in its Amped Form, while in Shield, the Pokemon will be in its Low Key Form.Gigantamax Toxtricity will only appear until March 8, and it doesn't seem the Pokemon will be available outside of this event, so you'll want to act fast if you want to add one to your collection. The other Gigantamax Pokemon, meanwhile, can be found at any time, although their encounter rates are typically very slim, making this a good opportunity to catch them.Serebii Update: The Pokémon Sword & Shield Max Raid Battle events have shifted, adding Gigantamax Toxtricity. We're back again to discuss the games that are currently keeping the GameSpot staff busy after work, which includes a variety of games new, old, and everything in-between. Below you can read about the titles that folks on the team are playing, why we're playing them, and what we love about them so far. But don't just stop at reading our responses; we'd love to hear from you too! Tell us all about what you're playing in the comments section below. Whether it's playing the latest big games, experiencing old classics for the first time, or revisiting the warming comfort of a childhood favorite, we'd love to hear about it.So please, join us and ramble on about all the super cool video games you're playing! We know you need to get it off your chest as much as we do. And if you're playing the same games from last week, that's fine too! You're more than welcome to talk about why you still love it!Destiny 2 (Always) -- Phil Hornshaw, EditorSo here's the thing: I'm kind of never not playing Destiny 2, partially because it's a big part of my job, but partly because I'm really enjoying what Bungie has done with the game over the years. I'm always telling people, "Destiny 2 has never been better," and I'm enjoying the current approach of seasonal content that's just enough to keep you engaged without feeling like you've taken on a non-paying part-time playing a video game. I got lost in the Corridors of Time puzzle, I've been digging into the lore surrounding the game's current time travel plot, and I've managed to hit the Legend rank in the PvP Crucible for the first time since the first Destiny launched. The current season has been exceedingly chill, which has been great. Destiny has become the game I play a little here and there to unwind, and lately, I'm digging into my Destiny 2 "backlog" of activities, cleaning out old Triumphs from the Scourge of the Past and Crown of Sorrows raids. Coming back to all the old content from Year Two has been a fun and relaxing experience, allowing me to dig into some of Destiny 2's more involved and complicated stuff without the pressure that comes with trying to learn a new raid when it comes out. I played all of these back on PS4, so moving over to Destiny on PC has been an opportunity to revisit older corners of Destiny 2 and finally get some of those sick raid Exotics I've been pining over for a while.Sure, I have a bunch of games on my Steam account I keep meaning to play--but maybe this run of Last Wish will finally get me One Thousand Voices. This feels like a backlog I can manage. | Twitter: @philhornshawThe Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II -- Michael Higham, Associate EditorYou know that feeling when you've discovered your new favorite thing--that genuine excitement that comes with diving into something fresh, to the point where you make time for it? That's what's happened to me with the Trails of Cold Steel series.I'm currently on Trails of Cold Steel II (which is a four-part JRPG series), but it's really a second chapter of the first game, as it picks up right where it ends. Instead of managing your day at the military academy (à la Persona) and going on dangerous field trips for hands-on educational experiences, the political drama brewing in the background reaches a tipping point and that impending dread hits meticulously at the conclusion. The thing about the sequel is how it leverages my connection to the characters and world established in the first game to make its dire stakes all the more impactful. Characters who seem like cliches at first naturally grow into complex and believable people through sharp writing, localization, and voice acting. Their development feels genuine, and their narrative importance is always evident. So when I (or, well, the main character Rean Schwarzer) reconnect with them throughout Cold Steel II, there's a sense of relief, a morale boost during tough times portrayed in the story. But I also realize that these military academy students are thrust into roles they didn't ask for and have to grow up fast, and it's those arcs that hook me.Cold Steel's story is so tightly told, leaving very few dialogue sequences, lore drops, or story beats to waste--yes, these are long RPGs, but Cold Steel is dense. Where the first game gave a sense of comfort, warmth, and wonder despite tensions between internal political factions, Cold Steel II paints a darker, starker picture of rampant classism and militarization. What makes my journey through Trails of Cold Steel even more exciting is that I'm also playing the previous trilogy in the same universe, Trails in the Sky. That's seven games in total I have my eyes on (of which I've only completed one), and I'm eager as ever to see how they all come together, however long it takes! | Twitter: @michaelphighamDragon Ball Z: Kakarot -- David Ahmadi, Video ProducerI’ve always loved the Budokai series, and Dragon Ball FighterZ was a fighting game masterclass. Still, I never quite grew acclimated to the full 3rd person combat system of Xenoverse and Tenkaichi. That didn’t stop me from picking up Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot as I eagerly began playing it in both a rush to make content and a personal desire to once again relive the Dragon Ball Z sagas that I’ve grown accustomed to.The real beauty of the chaotic action in the game shines when the actions on screen are a result of your input and intentions rather than mere happenchance. Timing assists moves with your own Super Kamehamehas, breaking down your opponent's guard and stunning them to unlock mini cutscenes that dramatically show off the super moves with destructive flair. Powering up your allies to unleash devastating Z-Combos, and the natural balance of ki management, suddenly had me feel the hook of the old Budokai games from ages ago. Combine that with my recent fascination and love for open-world RPGs, and all of a sudden, I look at Kakarot in a new light.I genuinely can’t stop playing the game, already having sunk about 80 hours into it long after beating the mainline campaign. I’m still flying around the various regions, making pit stops at the Kame house, and buying supplies for some killer recipes. I am a sucker for skill trees, and I have been greedily unlocking as many skills and powerful moves as I possibly can. And more often than not, I find myself absentmindedly flying off-course to gather Z-Orbs, which I promise you is way more satisfying than it might seem at first!Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has so much fan service as well, sometimes to the point where I feel that the slower moments in-game aren't meant for me, but for people who grew up watching the anime more than I did. If anything, that’s just another aspect of the game that I’ve grown to enjoy. Seeing so much effort put into climactic moments in the story puts the legacy of Dragon Ball Z in perspective. When I see Teen Gohan face an enemy no kid his age should ever have to, and watch him surpass his dad in a gob-stopping moment of prodigious potential, I’m entirely captivated--and with that recent memory so fresh in mind, I eagerly move on to my next objective, anticipating what other laws of physics I can happily defy. | Twitter: @Roshby57Pokemon Sword -- Kevin Knezevic, Associate EditorLike last week, I'm still steadily trekking through the world of Dragon Quest III, but in between sessions of that, I've found myself returning to Pokemon Sword. I've long since cleared the main storyline and post-game quest, so there's nothing left for me to accomplish besides completing my Pokedex (which I have no interest in doing), but I can't resist the allure of Max Raids. It's become a nightly ritual of mine to check what Max Raids are occurring in Sword after shutting down Dragon Quest, which usually turns out to be a poor decision as I end up staying awake far later than I intend because I keep joining Raids.Of all the new features Sword and Shield have introduced to the series, Max Raids are undoubtedly my favorite, in part because the rewards are so compelling. Max Raids are a fitting way to earn otherwise-expensive items like TRs, which can be used to teach Pokemon new moves. Unlike the reusable TMs, however, TRs break after a single use, so they're much harder to come by. Many Pokemon can also only learn their best attacks through TRs, making them incredibly valuable, particularly if you're trying to battle competitively.Another reason Max Raids keep drawing me back in is that they offer a way to play cooperatively with friends--something the series has sorely lacked to this point. Previous Pokemon games have allowed you to team up with another player for Multi Battles, but that was typically limited to local play. I've always longed to have the option to play Pokemon online alongside my friends rather than strictly against them, which is why being able to team up and battle colossal monsters together has been so alluring. And now that a new handful of Gigantamax Pokemon have started appearing more frequently in Max Raids, I don't think Pokemon Sword will be leaving my Switch anytime soon.Wide Ocean Big Jacket -- Edmond Tran, Senior Editor And ProducerI like playing short narrative games because they don't take up a lot of time and are usually a chill break from the usual stuff I play. The really good ones typically focus on exploring unique scenarios and building strong moods, typically in ways that you aren't going to find in any other kind of video game. Wide Ocean Big Jacket is one of those. It came out on Steam and Switch this week, and it's a short story that revolves around tweenager Mord and her new boyfriend, Ben, as they accompany her uncle Brad and aunt Clo on a camping trip. It's got a great style about it, and the game's primary mode is humour, which makes it easy to digest--the writing is pretty sharp, and Mord, in particular, is hilarious and full of energy. You'll rotate between all four characters during the trip, though, and in between doing camping activities like roasting hot dogs, hiking, birdwatching, and finding a bush to pee in, the game also spends time taking brief glimpses into the untold anxieties of each individual.Mord and Ben, both 13-years-old and longtime friends, are navigating that awkward phase in every kid's life where they start getting curious about things like romance--working out precisely what it is, how the hell you're supposed to go about it, and what it means to them. It's a charming window to a part of life that I've long forgotten, and it's weirdly surprising how much I found myself empathising with them. Uncle Brad and Aunt Clo have more adult relationship matters at hand, which made it more relatable and believable to me, so the same kinds of heart-straining feelings apply there too. The whole thing is very poignant and just... convincing. It's only about an hour long, and it left me in one of those beautiful, hopeful, feelgood moods. Definitely give it a shot if any of that sounds like your bag. Camping. It's great. | Twitter: @EdmondTranDino Crisis -- Matt Espineli, EditorThe first Dino Crisis isn't often the go-to choice for those revisiting the cult-favorite dinosaur-themed Resident Evil sister series. In the years since its release, the game is frequently overshadowed by its far-superior sequel (it's obvious where my allegiances lie). Still, I was compelled to play the less brilliant Dino Crisis 1 when I realized--after listening to a podcast about the game--that I've only beaten it once. I'm a strong advocate for giving old games a second reading, especially if I was a naive prepubescent child the last time I played them, so I was willing to give it another go.So far, replaying Dino Crisis has been enriching. In stark contrast to its more action-packed sequel, Dino Crisis focuses on slowly building tension and surprising you with raptors (and other dinosaurs, but mostly raptors) when you least expect it--qualities I'm particularly fond of given the premise. The whole "secret research facility overrun by dinosaurs" scenario is still so captivating; there's nothing more humbling than being hunted by hostile prehistoric beasts--even if some of them turned out to not be as violent as we thought. All the while, protagonist Regina is a delightful protagonist to experience the game's numerous grizzly situations with, as her easy-going temperament supplies welcome levity to the proceedings.I'm undoubtedly enjoying Dino Crisis far more than I did the first time. I recall having a lot of trouble solving all the puzzles scattered throughout the game, so maybe that's why I didn't like it as much back then. So I want to say I'm enjoying it more now because my current (hopefully) adult-level intelligence has made the journey more palatable. But who knows! Dino Crisis just might become be a new favorite for me. | Twitter: @MGespinApex Legends -- Jordan Ramée, Associate EditorMy love for Apex Legends is probably different from most. I can't claim that the smooth gunplay or satisfying climb up the ranks or thrill of unlocking new rewards are the main reasons for why I keep playing. For me, it's the characters; it's always been the characters.Role-playing as an idiotic adrenaline junkie who's always running towards the next fight (even when I really shouldn't be because I haven't also found a body shield yet) while playing as Octane is exhilarating fun, especially when I somehow win. It's almost as ecstatic a feeling as zapping people while making stupid electricity-based puns as Wattson. So yes, I do appreciate how mechanically sound of a game Apex Legends is, I really do (how did I ever once play first-person shooters without a ping system?), but if I'm honest, it's the highly quotable characters that keep me coming back. And I can't get enough of Revenant. Season 4: Assimilation's new playable character is this jerkwad of a robot who is sassy, arrogant, ungrateful, and sadistic. The dude--and I am not making this up--refers to himself as "Death." He uses a capital "d" and everything, like some middle-school edgelord. It's hilarious, and I love just how extra he is, running around with this creepy douchebag persona.Like, there was a moment this past week where I executed a Wraith, and Revenant said, "That little voice saying there's still hope? It's lying." Given Wraith's abilities, I couldn't help but chuckle with malicious glee over how perfect such a line fits the situation. My roommate has told me that I'm not allowed to play as Revenant anymore. Apparently, it's "creepy." But he's just another worthless skin suit--what's he gonna do? | Twitter: @JMRameePokemon Masters -- Steve Watts, Associate EditorHere's a weird confession: I kind of never stopped playing Pokemon Masters. This is strange because this is a game that I had criticized as overly aggressive with its microtransactions. The producer himself conceded the game didn't have much to do at launch. It seemed destined to lapse into obscurity. So why do I keep playing it?For one, I'm using the term "playing" pretty loosely here. Pokemon Masters has an auto-battle system, and in single-player modes, it can be sped up. The auto-battle AI sometimes makes downright bafflingly stupid decisions, and it isn't suited for the toughest stages, but for the sake of gaining levels and items, it works fine. This makes me less of a Pokemon Master than a Pokemon Team Manager, and something about that is deeply appealing to me. I still get to collect monsters, and I don't have to grind--I just have to check in every couple of minutes to keep it going and then choose how to allocate my loot. Other times, I only check-in for my daily login bonus and put it aside. I've accumulated a fair number of gems and more sync pairs this way.But besides that, the game has actually gotten a lot of TLC since its barebones beginnings. The Training area has added more Supercourses with tougher, once-daily challenges for much bigger rewards. New story chapters have been added, and level caps have been raised. A "Bingo" board lets you select your own set of objectives for even more weekly rewards. A Gear system enables you to equip team-wide buffs and gives more incentive to participate in co-op matches, where Gear and crafting materials are often the prizes. Most recently, a new Sync Grid lets you upgrade individual sync pairs with a system akin to Final Fantasy 10's Sphere Grid. The game has gone from having too little to do to an almost overwhelming degree of customization, which is perfect for my passive "team manager" approach. Finally, the semi-regular occurrence of Legendary events has added some big names in the Pokemon world, including Giovanni with Mewtwo, your own player character with Solgaleo, and currently, Zinnia with Rayquaza. The Pokemon Company has announced more events coming for Pokemon Day, and I'm hoping for another Legendary to add to my collection. | Twitter: @sporkyreeve Info from Gamespot.com

Gareth Edwards, the director of the first Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One, has found his latest sci-fi project. He'll be working on a new movie at New Regency. The untitled project will be written and directed by Edwards, according to Variety. He'll be joined by Kiri Hart as producer, who had that same role on Rogue One.Details are scarce, but Edwards' latest project will be a sci-fi movie taking place in the near-future. This is an original idea, and casting is reportedly already underway. The film may start production as early as this summer. This will be the fourth feature film under Edwards' belt, and also the fourth sci-film as well. Edwards got his feature start with the 2010 movie Monsters--which he also wrote--then the American Godzilla reboot four years later.New Regency has a good track record with sci-fi films recently. In 2017, the production company released A Cure For Wellness, a bizarre thriller with a mild sci-fi bent about a business man trying to retrieve his boss from a recovery center. In the process, the man slowly starts to lose his mind. Additionally, New Regency has produced 2011's In Time and 2006's The Fountain. However, the production studio really nailed it with last year's Ad Astra. Starring Brad Pitt, the film followed an astronaut in the near future who goes on a journey to recover his father from a space station halfway across the galaxy.Info from Gamespot.com

Bungie is starting to tease some of the big gameplay changes in store for the next season of Destiny 2, which is set to kick off in just a few weeks. Swords are the first item on the list, and Bungie is completely reworking what role they will play in combat.Previously, swords occupied the same space as shotguns, slotting into the close-quarters, high-damage role making them almost interchangeable. Bungie wants to shake this up, primarily by giving players more flexibility when it comes to how swords consume ammunition, and how that ties into the new sword energy meter.Sword energy will replace your melee meter when you have a sword quipped, slowly recharging over time in the same way. Although you will still consume ammunition when attacking, this energy will be used when initiating a heavy attack. The more energy you have, the stronger the attack, adding more nuance to previous strategies that just relied on getting up closing and mashing attack as fast as possible.Energy will also be consumed when guarding. Although you'll still need at least one ammo to start a guard, each stance and damage resistance type will now only drain your energy in different ways without consuming any ammunition. The changes were influenced by how Stronghold, a Titan exotic from Season of the Drifter, influenced the otherwise unused guarding mechanic. Bungie have now applied its influence across the board, but promise that Stronghold will be adapted accordingly so that it still feels unique.Light attacks won't consume energy at all, but have been reworked to allow for the standard three hit combos to loop indefinitely now too. Bungie hopes that this will leave players less open at the end of combos, while also adding to other changes to give all sword a "hack and slash" feel.A detailed breakdown of all the changes to swords can be read in Bungie's weekly Destiny 2 update, which includes details about Crimson Days, a patch note preview for Season 10, and more. Animal Crossing: New Horizons' release date is quickly approaching--the highly anticipated game will launch March 20, 2020 exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Physical pre-orders for New Horizons have been available for a while, but the new Animal Crossing game has finally arrived on the Switch Eshop, meaning you can now pre-order your copy digitally. And if you've been holding onto one of Nintendo's game vouchers from last year, you're in luck, because Animal Crossing: New Horizons is also eligible for that offer.Nintendo's game voucher program was rolled out last year, offering two vouchers for $100 USD / £84 / AU$134.95. Assuming you redeem the vouchers on two full-price Nintendo Switch games, you could save yourself $20 / £16 / AU$24.95 overall. It was a great deal considering first-party Switch games just don't drop below list price when they're brand-new, and you could redeem the vouchers any two eligible games, from Pokemon Sword and Shield and Luigi's Mansion 3 to Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Unfortunately, vouchers are no longer available to be purchased in the United States or Australia, so hopefully you took advantage of the promotion last year.If you want to redeem your voucher on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can do so in the Nintendo Switch Eshop, or on Nintendo.com if you're in the US or Canada. The newly released Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore was just added to the list of eligible titles as well, if you have more than one voucher saved up.If you prefer to pre-order a physical copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Best Buy is offering $10 reward credit as well as a Tom Nook peel-and-stick accessory with all purchases. If you're in the public test realm on PC, you can try out the new sets for Barbarian, Witch Doctor, and Wizard, among other changes in the 2.6.8 update.Barbarian's "Horde of Ninety Savages" class set boosts Frenzy, the Witch Doctor gets "Mundunugu's Regalia" to change its Spirit Barrage ability, and the Wizard's "Typhon's Veil" maks changes to the Hydra ability. Blizzard also noted that it added extra Legendaries to round out the new builds. If you want to help test the new sets, Blizzard recommends focusing on one during the limited time, rather than trying to dabble in all three. In addition to these class sets, the patch is introducing a new Season 20 Theme, Season of the Forbidden Archives. That theme will be accompanied by a revised Kanai's Cube that removes many of its usual restrictions. The focus is on letting players boost their own power level rather than focus on environmental effects. Playing Season 20 will earn a new pet and portrait frame.Blizzard has been updating Diablo 3 regularly with new class sets, updates, and other items to collect, along with seasonal challenges. Meanwhile, the company is working on Diablo 4, and just brought in a notable name to help steer the Diablo franchise: former Gears of War head Rod Fergusson.Diablo 3 PTR Patch 2.68GeneralInfernal Machines and Organs are now subject to vacuum pick-upCrafting plans from Bounty Caches are now guaranteed to drop unless all plans have been learnedSeasonsA new Season Theme has been added for Season 20, the Season of the Forbidden Archives: For the duration of Season 20, all slots in Kanai's Cube will be able to select Legendary powers from Weapon, Armor, or Jewelry This means you could select three Armor powers, three Weapon powers, three Jewelery powers, or any other combination thereof across all categoriesItems are not self-additive or multiplicative (meaning, you cannot stack multiples of the same item's power)Once the Season has ended and characters roll over to Non-Season, players will have all currently active powers in their Kanai's Cube resetDeveloper's Note: As we outlined in our Developer Insight blog, we want to continue to get creative (and maybe a little crazy) with the Season Themes and powers we add to the game. We heard from some players that they preferred themes that made your character directly feel more powerful rather than needing to focus on the environment around you. If that describes you, then the Season of Forbidden Archives should be right up your alley, and we're really interested to see how this changes the game for Season 20.Two new Seasonal rewards are available for players who fully complete the Season 20 Journey, including a new portrait frame and petClassesCrusader Heaven's Fury The animation for the Fires of Heaven rune can no longer be cancelled early.ItemsDeveloper's Note: With Patch 2.6.8, we're adding three(!) new class sets with similar goals to those we included in the previous patch. Each set was designed primarily with boosting long-requested skills and play styles we lifted directly from community feedback. Frenzy, Spirit Barrage, and Hydra were requests that offered a lot of opportunity for gameplay exploration, and we're looking forward to seeing what players do with these new tools at their disposal. Additional changes to associated supplemental Legendaries have been included to round out these builds. It is critical when providing feedback on these sets to include whether or not you were using the Season 20 buff during your testing; while feedback of any kind is welcome, we're especially interested in Non-Seasonal testing as that will better reflect the long-term performance of these sets.Mantle of Channeling The bonus granted by this item now occurs 1 second after channeling has begunBarbarianNew Class Set: Horde of the Ninety Savages 2-Piece Bonus: Double the effectiveness of all Shouts. Fans of Daniel Craig and ludicrous Southern accents rejoice: Rian Johnson's critically-acclaimed whodunit is getting a follow-up. Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer announced the sequel as part of the company's third-quarter earnings call. The film picked up critical buzz following its release late last year, which has translated into a strong box-office performance, with a worldwide gross quickly approaching the $300 million mark.Best-known for directing the sharply-divisive Star Wars entry The Last Jedi, Johnson had already indicated in interviews that he wanted to make a follow-up to Knives Out, with Craig's gentlemen detective Benoit Blanc taking on a new case. Feltheimer also hinted that Lionsgate feels that the film has franchise potential. In our Knives Out review, Rafael Motamayor praised the movie as a "razor-sharp deconstruction of the whodunit genre." The film isn't Johnson's only foray into the genre--his directorial debut Brick played with the conventions of mystery fiction, with a more hard-boiled twist. As for Craig, you can see him in the upcoming Bond flick No Time to Die, which comes to theatres in April.Info from Gamespot.com

The New Zealand Game Developers Association announced that the country's games industry has doubled in revenue over the past two years, thanks to strong showings from mobile games like Bloons TD 6 and the popular action-RPG Path of Exile. These figures come from the results of a national survey which collected data from 39 different gaming companies across multiple segments of the industry, including VR and educational technology."What we're seeing are the fruits of the last generation of New Zealand interactive studios' hard work. Our opportunity is to support the next generation of creative tech companies to join them," said New Zealand Game Developers Association Chairperson Cassandra Gray.According to the survey, 59% of the studios expect greater than 10% growth in the next year. The New Zealand games industry has enjoyed an average growth of 39% year-on-year. If it continues at this rate, the industry could collect $1 billion in annual revenue by the middle of the decade.Since its release in 2013, Grinding Gear Games' Diablo-esque Path of Exile has been one of the most popular free-to-play games on PC. Late last year, the studio announced Path of Exile 2, which is a major expansion that will totally overhaul the game, including an entirely new story. Don't hold your breath, however: Grinding Gear says it doesn't expect to start beta testing the game until late 2020.Info from Gamespot.com

Netflix's Locke and Key doesn't tread the exact same path as the comics--as we've already established, there are plenty of differences between the Netflix show and the original books. And that makes the final couple of episodes in Season 1 extra exciting for comics readers--even those who think they know what's going to happen likely wound up surprised by the end.And that's exactly what we're here to discuss--what happened at the end of Locke and Key Season 1, and how it differed from the comic books. Here's your second spoiler warning: If you haven't finished the show and you don't want to know what happens at the end, stop reading now.Still here? Great. Let's go.In Locke and Key Season 1's final episode, the Lockes do battle with Dodge's shadows, ultimately coming out on top thanks to--of all things--the plastic rainbow light sword Bode's been comically wielding all season. Who saw that coming?Having apparently knocked Dodge unconscious, the Lockes and their friends drag her limp body to the Drowning Cave, where they devise to open the Black Door using the Omega Key and toss her through. As she sails into that sparkly dimension, she has a very un-Dodge-like reaction, reaching out to Tyler and calling him by name, with what appears to be a look of real terror on her face. Seems fine, though.Or not! As the audience soon discovers, there's been another player in this game all along: sweet, innocent, nice, cute Gabe. Looks can be deceiving when you have tools like the Identity Key, after all. And as Gabe rides away on his bike and a smirk starts to develop on his face, our perception of everything that came before comes crashing down. Through a series of new flashbacks to slightly earlier events, we learn that Dodge used the Identity Key to make Ellie look like her, then knocked her unconscious and planted her at Keyhouse during a pivotal moment. Dodge then walked outside, turned into Gabe, walked back in, and helped the Lockes throw Ellie, who they thought was Dodge, through the Black Door.Gabe was Dodge and Dodge was Gabe all along. This echoes a storyline from the comics that, for the show's first nine episodes, it seemed like the Netflix version was simply skipping. In the books, when Dodge escapes the well house, she immediately uses the Gender Key (which doesn't exist in the show) to turn back into her "natural" form: that of Rendell's best friend, Lucas. Lucas cuts his hair, gets a weird lip ring, and immediately attaches himself to Tyler and Kinsey. Going by the name Zack, he becomes the former's best friend and dates the latter, all to manipulate them into confiding in him about the Keys. Bode doesn't recognize him from the well, but several other people do--since he looks exactly like Lucas--and he has to do a whole lot of murdering to keep his cover. But while we, the readers, know who he is, it takes the Lockes a long time to catch on.The really genius thing the Gabe twist did for the show is preserve that surprise a little bit longer so that it could be a reveal for viewers. In future seasons, we'll get that tension of knowing that the Lockes' friend is actually Dodge in disguise, while they're totally in the dark. It just took a bit longer to get to that point, and wound up being a lot more shocking as a result.Read More: Here's Easter eggs and references from Episode 1, Episodes 2-5, and Episodes 6-10In addition, the show had one last surprise for viewers: When the gang opened the Black Door, Eden was struck with a "glowing bullet" and infected with the same thing that got Lucas all those years earlier. This was another huge surprise for existing fans--nothing similar happened in the books, particularly not so early in the story. And Eden doesn't even exist in the source material. What does it all mean? Season 2 is going to be lit. The Lockes believe they've defeated Dodge, but we know better. It's going to make for a lot of tension and some intense drama when Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode realize they're not out of danger yet, particularly now that Dodge will have help. Plus, there are plenty more keys still left that they haven't discovered yet. We can't wait.Info from Gamespot.com

Team Ninja's Nioh 2 is very much a continuation of the methodical Souls-style samurai-influenced combat from the original game. As a prequel set several decades earlier in the Sengoku-era, before the arrival of the foreigner William, you play as a nameless Samurai who can defy death and unleash newfound abilities due to their latent demonic lineage. As a being of both the human and demon worlds, your character will rub shoulders with historical figures of the era as they take on daring missions that have them confront the dark forces running afoul in the land.Over the last few months, Team Ninja has spent time refining the game with different open beta periods for players to jump into the action. Just before the game's final release on March 13, we got to spend one final time with the game, where we explored a castle overrun by demons and rogue ninja. From this near-final look at the game, it was clear that the high-stress gameplay from the first Nioh remains intact, which, of course, included all those sudden embarrassing deaths that are entirely your fault because you weren't paying attention to your surroundings. Anyone who's played a proper Souls-like knows how it is.Just like the original, Nioh 2 is firmly rooted in the Souls-style dynamic of facing nerve-wracking challenges and overcoming powerful foes that can easily wipe the floor with you if you're not careful. However, the sequel lets you channel your dark side with the use of Yokai powers. In addition to using conventional weapons like katanas, spears, and the new transformable switch-glaive, you also have a suite of Yokai powers that let you turn the tables on once-challenging enemies. After slaying powerful demons throughout the world, you'll be able to use their abilities in combat to exploit an opponent's weakness and open them up for several quick and powerful strikes. There's something uniquely satisfying about slaying a powerful demon and then claiming their soul for yourself. But when things get particularly hairy, you're also able to enter a full-on Yokai state, which significantly amplifies your strength and agility. One demon form you take on, who wields a set of daggers, grants you a useful dash move that can get you out of trouble in most fights. While Nioh 2 leans even more into Team Ninja's action gameplay roots, placing greater emphasis on using the Yokai abilities to upend the flow of battle, the game is still Souls-like to its core. It's the type of experience that can be an acquired taste, leaving some put off with its stoic adherence to the mechanics at work. Still, Nioh 2 offsets this challenge with the wealth of options you have at your disposal. With the refined combat system, which utilized various stance shifts, evasive dodges, and a robust magic system, there are several different weapons and skills for you to lean into depending on your playstyle. Nioh 2's combat is a sophisticated combat system that feels unlike any other Souls-style game, which makes it all the more satisfying to master. During our hands-on, we spoke with Team Ninja producer Fumihiko Yasuda about the development of Nioh 2, and what they learned most following the success of the original game."When we worked on Nioh 1, we initially struggled with the concept and the world, but we ended up having a good foundation," said Yasuda. "So after it was finished, it was just a matter of evolving it to the next level. So with Nioh 2, we added more variety in the levels and the character's story; everything is expanded. Because it's an action game, it tends to be, especially in the first one, repetitive due to the lack of enemy variety as well. So based on the player feedback, we made sure to have more variety in enemies and interesting gameplay and story in the second one."With this next game, a lot of attention has been given to refining the core combat, the online co-op gameplay, and how you develop and evolve your character as they explore Sengoku-era Japan. There are a lot more systems at work to ease the burden that many missions can thrust on you, such as the addition of AI-controlled summons known as Benevolent Spirits, an inverse on the returning Revenants that are the hostile ghosts of fallen players. The Benevolent characters can easily hold their own in a fight and are a great asset for those who want help fast or don't have access to online play. With that said, Nioh 2 can still be an unforgiving game. If the many unexpected pitfalls don't get you, then you'll likely meet your end at the hands of your enemies. When you're not contending with the prequel's new Dark Realm mechanic, which are areas imbued with dark energy that amplifies the enemy strength, you'll also be on the lookout for hidden foes that attack when you least expect it. All this means you'll need to be attuned to the game's more advanced mechanics from the outset, such as the Ki-pulse, which restores stamina following attacks. That said, the section of Nioh 2 I played was fair in how it threw challenges your way due to the number of tools and skills you've got at your disposal. Yet it still left me on edge, hoping that I wouldn't fall prey to an attack from one of the castle's many demons.Nioh 2 improves upon the original game's Diablo-style RPG loot system and character building set up, which now has an overhauled skill and abilities system to develop your hero in ways that best reflect your style. Want to stick with your learnings of proper Samurai patience and resolve? You can do that. Or perhaps you want to lean more into the teachings of the ninja and Onmyo, allowing you to buff your weapons with elemental damage. You can undoubtedly follow those paths as well, and based on my time with beta and this new press demo, the sequel seems to do a better job of conveying how your character evolves.I can't deny that Nioh 2 feels a lot like the original. This isn't totally a bad thing, but it can somewhat dull the excitement and sense of anticipation when it relies on similar set-pieces of the first game. Still, I was impressed with how much Nioh 2 scratches my itch for a quick Souls-like experience to jump into, and offers something new in terms of character advancement and customization--especially the addition of the Yokai powers.Following a round of alpha and beta tests, Team Ninja has refined the core gameplay even further. These changes include tweaking boss attacks and amplifying the effectiveness of weapons, which will hopefully make the final game a bit more balanced. While the developers listened to fan feedback regarding the game's difficulty, they still stuck to their principles with making the game that pushed its difficulty and the players. According to Yasuda, Nioh 2 maintains that focus on presenting a challenge, and the ensuing satisfaction that comes from overcoming it."For me, just as an example, it's easy to make spicy food, but it needs to be addictive to eat as well," he said. "So when making Nioh, it needs to be fair and responsive, which is one of the most important things that we look at when designing the game. It wasn't our biggest intention or priority to make a hard game, but it was about creating, providing a sense of achievement, and a sense of satisfaction that can come from finishing the game."Nioh 2 has more of what fans of the original would want from the game, and it was interesting seeing just how much of a change Yokai abilities make to the flow of battle. There are far more options for you to take advantage of in the prequel, which helps make overcoming the many harrowing encounters ultimately feel more satisfying. Info from Gamespot.com

Guardians are hard at work earning Polarized Fractaline for the Empyrean Foundation in Destiny 2 this week. As always, Xur has returned with a new batch of Exotic weapons and armor to help you fill out your ever-expanding collection of cool guns and clothes--provided you can afford them. Take a break from donating Fractaline to get yourself those Perfect Paradox god rolls to pay a visit to the Agent of the Nine. Here's where you can find Xur and everything he's selling.Xur is located in the Tower this weekend, on the Hangar side. His Exotic weapon this week is Black Talon. Hunters can get the Knucklehead Radar helmet; Titans get a chance at the Lion Rampant leg armor; and for Warlocks, there's the Aeon Soul gauntlets.Xur LocationTo find Xur, head down to the Hangar side of the Tower (where Saint-14 and Holliday are found), then turn left and go past the Dead Orbit area. Take the catwalk stairs to reach the edge of the Tower, where you'll find Xur hanging out.Head to the Hangar side of the Tower to find xur, who is located on a catwalk near the north edge. It's the only Year Two Exotic Xur is offering this week, and excels beyond other swords because it's capable of firing a projectile as well as cleaving your enemies in twain. If Xur's wares aren't compelling, you can always roll the dice on the expensive Fated Engram he brings with him. This gives you a single Exotic from the limited pool of ones you haven't already earned, for the price of 97 Legendary shards. If there's something you're missing from your collection and you want it sooner rather than later, it can be a good deal--starting with the Season of Dawn, all Exotic Engrams are Fated Engrams, but you'll have to level up your Season Pass or wait for a random drop to get some. Be sure to purchase it on the character who's missing the Exotic, and note that you can only get one per week, so choose wisely which of your characters makes the buy. If you're a PC or Xbox One player taking advantage of cross-save, you can now potentially get Wavesplitter from the Fated Engram as well, thanks to the fact that it's no longer exclusive to PS4.Xur Item Lineup (February 7-11)Black Talon (Exotic sword)Knucklehead Radar (Exotic Hunter helmet)Lion Rampant (Exotic Titan leg armor)Aeon Soul (Exotic Warlock gauntlets)Black TalonBlack Talon stands apart from other swords because it can also fire off ranged projectiles.Swords are already pretty effective in a lot of Destiny 2 scenarios; if you can close the gap with them in PvP, they're devastating, and in PvE situations, you can slice up a lot of small enemies very quickly with a good blade. Black Talon is better than most, though, because it can also fire a powerful projectile, in addition to giving you a ton of up-close melee damage. In the Crucible especially, the Crow's Wings blast is hard to predict and harder to dodge for opposing players.Knucklehead Radar (Hunter)Knucklehead Radar is a great PvP Exotic if you like knowing more than your opponents and using that information to outsmart them. This is a tried-and-true Hunter PvP Exotic going back to Destiny 1. Knucklehead Radar is great in Crucible situations because it maintains your radar even when you're aiming down the sights of your gun. It also makes your radar more precise when you're crouching. Used well, Knucklehead Radar is an Exotic that can get you more kills and save your life in the Crucible.Stats:Mobility: 11Resilience: 3Recovery: 10Discipline: 22Intellect: 2Strength: 2Total: 50Lion Rampant (Titan)Use Lion Rampant to keep yourself flying and mobile as a Titan. For Titans who like to be more mobile, Lion Rampant is a good get. The leg armor is all about aerial maneuverability, giving you better control while you're in the air. It also makes your guns more accurate when firing from the hip while airborne, which can all be very handy for Titans who like to do a lot of flying in the Crucible.Stats:Mobility: 16Resilience: 8Recovery: 2Discipline: 6Intellect: 12Strength: 6Total: 50Aeon Soul (Warlock)The Aeon Exotics are useful for helping out your team, but you get the best mileage if the rest of your group is also using them. The Aeon group of Exotics work best when they're being used by a whole fireteam--they're generally kind of ignored. But if you and your pals are willing to go in on using them, they can be pretty effective in both PvP and PvE play, boosting you and your teammates whenever you perform certain actions. Aeon Soul gives ability energy of different types to your nearby teammates whenever you throw grenades, and the gains are best when everyone is wearing Aeon Exotics.Stats:Mobility: 6Resilience: 8Recovery: 13Discipline: 6Intellect: 6Strength: 12Total: 51Info from Gamespot.com
