Devolver Digital has announced Disc Room, a new game from the creators of Minit and High Hell. It's Devolver's latest challenging 2D affair, with an interesting art style and the promise of plenty of violence.The game is set inside a deadly alien craft, a huge disc that appears in Jupiter's orbit in 2089. You play as a scientist who must explore rooms filled with alien saw blades that are constantly trying to slice you up, figuring out the labyrinthine structure of the craft and gaining new abilities as you go. You'll unlock an invincibility dash, time-bending, and even a cloning mechanic as you go, and the press release promises that you'll die plenty--"In Disc Room the only way out is through Death."The game has only been confirmed for Steam so far, and you can wishlist the game now. The game will release later this year in autumn 2020. If you're attending PAX East, the game will be playable there. Square Enix has announced it is scaling back some of its plans for PAX East later this month due to ongoing concerns about the coronavirus. In a blog post, the publisher said the Final Fantasy XIV Online developers who planned to travel from the team's HQ in Japan will now stay home."Sadly Square Enix has decided to cancel the PAX East attendance of staff who would be travelling from the Japan offices," the company said in a statement. "This difficult decision was based on our desire to prevent any potential spread of the virus and to prioritize the health and safety of our team and our fans."Because the development team won't be attending PAX East, Square Enix is scaling back its events surrounding Final Fantasy XIV. Rainbow Six Siege is a team-based game that is at its best when you're playing with friends, but that won't always be the case--often players will want to jump in alone, and when they do, there's no option to solo queue. Solo queuing means being matched with other players who are also not in squads, so that you don't end up facing an extremely communicative, well-prepared team.This is a feature that players have wanted for a while, and it seems that the developers are taking notice. Netflix is rolling out a new feature into more territories after successful testing in the UK and Mexico. The streaming service is reporting that, for the first time, many users will be able to track which shows are getting the most views in their region.The lists, which will update daily, will give you three figures--the 10 most watched TV shows, most watched movies, and the overall top 10 most watched pieces of media. According to Netflix, "The position of the row will vary depending on how relevant the shows and films are to you." If the top 10 does not correlate with your taste, this could mean that it'll be quite far down on the site's interface for you.Shows and movies that are appearing in the top 10 will also have a badge on their icons, denoting their popularity. This feature has rolled out in some countries now, but Netflix has not provided a list of where they are available. Meanwhile, the mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes has made more money than any other Nintendo mobile game.This success has allowed Intelligent Systems to grow, according to their updated company profile (which is in Japanese, but has been translated and summarized by Siliconera). The developer now has 169 employees, the highest number they've ever had. But although this base is admirably creative, Snack World's failings outweigh its strengths. You earn an audience with the king, who is simultaneously jovial and relentlessly selfish, and he tasks you with a variety of quests to satiate his daughter's fleeting desires--most of which she no longer cares for by the time you retrieve your boon.Once you embark on an odyssey to regain your memory while becoming a dungeon-crawling virtuoso, you're quickly bombarded with a hefty amount of information tied to the game's various systems. Although they are relatively straightforward and conventional--character traits, codex entries, and opportunities for dungeon co-op--the explanations are buried under esoteric apps on a phone-like device called a Pix-e Pad. Even before Microsoft has properly unveiled Halo Infinite with any gameplay footage or firm details, the company's merchandising partners have revealed new Halo Infinite action figures that contain some clues about the Xbox and PC game.First off, the new figures from Wicked Cool Toys show new armor for Master Chief that appear to more closely line up with Bungie's original armor designs. HBO has officially given the green light to the long-rumored Friends reunion special. The network has confirmed that the Friends reunion will feature all six main stars of the original show and will premiere in May on HBO Max to help launch the new streaming service.The Friends reunion special will be an hour-long unscripted show starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer. Watchmen, the HBO series from Damon Lindelof that was awarded GameSpot's #1 Show of 2019 honor, has been reclassified. Whereas originally it was known as a series, Variety is reporting that HBO is now referring to it as a "limited series". What does this mean, exactly? The short version is that it means that Watchmen will be entered into the "limited series" Emmy race rather than the "best drama" category later in 2020. But there's also some largely semantic distinctions to be made.A "limited series", essentially, covers a predetermined number of episodes and tells a complete story. Unlike a serialized drama, which is designed to continue on indefinitely, a limited series is expected to operate as a complete narrative across each season. A "limited series" is longer than a "miniseries" (usually four episodes or fewer). This is different from a regular series that can, essentially, continue the same plot across multiple seasons. This doesn't mean that there definitely won't be another season, either. Variety is reporting that this classification covers "future installments" as well, and while Lindelof has previously said that he's unlikely to return (and HBO is seemingly not keen to continue without him), the possibility remains open.There's precedent here for limited series that follow fairly traditional structures. Another HBO series, Big Little Lies, returned for a second season in 2019 that directly followed the first, despite being a limited series. Limited series are often anthology shows with changing protagonists and settings each season, such as Fargo, True Detective, and American Crime Story, which is also a possibility for a Watchmen follow-up.
