The first game I played in Dreams was a cute Captain Toad-inspired puzzle platformer called Pip Gemwalker. It's about a Sloth who has to collect hidden gems across seven increasingly-complex levels. The second game I played was Blade Gunner, a Resogun-style twin-stick shooter with upgrades, an in-game store, and online leaderboards. After that I hopped into Art Therapy, a first-person game where your goal, as a disgruntled artist wielding a baseball bat, is to smash your way through a museum without any of the guards catching you in the act. The fourth was Shadows Dance at Olivetop Reach, a fantasy RPG with turn-based combat and an XP-based levelling system. Each of these games is vastly different from the last, not just in terms of genre and gameplay mechanics, but their use (or disuse) of cutscenes, voice acting, art style, music, narrative, and so on. The one thing they each have in common is that they were all created using the exact same set of tools. That's Dreams in a nutshell: a platform where you can create pretty much anything you can put your mind to. Developer Media Molecule has continued the mantra of "play, create, share" that it used to define the LittleBigPlanet series and applied it to a much more ambitious concept with a significantly broader scope. Metaphorically speaking, if LittleBigPlanet is a single country, then Dreams is the entire universe. There's just so much promise and potential for the burgeoning Dreams community to create some innovative and inspired art, all by using an intuitive toolset that's made accessible via a streamlined creation suite and the use of informative hands-on tutorials. Whether these creations take the form of an hour-long video game, a short film, a simple visual spectacle, or something as simple as a sound effect that another player can use in their own project. The possibilities are endless, which I know is a tired cliché, but in Dreams--more than anywhere else--it actually applies. There are two parts to Dreams which both branch out like roots from a tree. DreamShaping is where you can begin creating your own projects and find myriad tutorials that will teach you how. DreamSurfing, meanwhile, lets you find other people's creations and play them for yourself. It's also where you'll find Media Molecule's own creations, including Art's Dream. If you want to construct a level in LittleBigPlanet, you are always confined to the base template of a side-scrolling 3D platformer. Inevitably, some people found inventive ways to circumnavigate this template, but compared to what you can do in Dreams it's overly restrictive. To demonstrate the monumental shift between LittleBigPlanet and Dreams, Media Molecule has created a showcase of sorts, placing Art's Dream front and centre when you jump into DreamSurfing for the first time.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The Xbox One X is currently the most powerful console on the market, but with the upcoming Xbox Series X and PS5, it can be a little hard to justify a full purchase of the $500 console. Thankfully, Google Shopping's latest slate of deals has the Xbox One X down to $259.20, an absolutely ludicrous price for the 4K-capable console and the lowest we've seen so far. And while new consoles may be on their way, they're likely going to be much more expensive than this. Microsoft says that it won't release an Xbox Series X-exclusive game for at least a year or two after the console's launch, so you can rest easy knowing every first-party game will be playable on your Xbox One X. These deals are a part of a flash sale and run through February 29 or while supplies last.Google Shopping currently has a number of promo codes that bring the NBA 2K20 1TB bundle down to $259.20 and the Gears 5 1TB Xbox One X bundle down to $289, the latter of which includes all five of the series' mainline games. The latest game in the franchise received a score of 7/10 in GameSpot's Gears 5 review. Critic Phil Hornshaw wrote, "Gears 5 is very much a return of those best elements of Gears of War, but with a focus on making the game feel somewhat more adaptive to your particular ways of playing."All of these deals require the use of promo codes, but Google Shopping makes it extremely easy to use said codes. At checkout, there will be a step to add all available codes. It's hard to miss, but make sure you do this before you confirm your order.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The demo begins as Leon Kennedy arrives at the Racoon City police department, giving players 30 minutes to reach its conclusion before being locked out of playing through it again. For many Pokemon players, the most exciting aspect of the recently launched Pokemon Home is not the ability to transfer Pokemon from 3DS to Switch (although that is certainly a big draw of the service), but rather the return of the Global Trade System. First introduced in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl back in 2007, the GTS allows you to place a Pokemon up for trade and request a specific monster in return, down to its level and gender. The feature is well-loved among fans because it offers an easy way to fill out your Pokedex, and it's been a staple of the series since its advent, appearing in every entry up until Sword and Shield. Naturally, news that it would be returning as part of Pokemon Home was very much welcome.Unfortunately, the GTS is still a broken mess.As helpful as the feature often is, there have always been a few inherent issues with GTS, none of which have been resolved. For one, you can request any of the series' 890-plus Pokemon in exchange for the one you offer up, which of course means there's a preponderance of people flooding the server with requests for Legendary Pokemon in return for their completely ordinary Caterpie. This has been a problem since the GTS was first introduced, but it seems particularly prevalent in Home.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The latest patch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has gone live, adding a new map and several fixes along with balance tweaks. It's now available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.The biggest item on the patch list is the new map, Bazaar. Shoot House has been added to a playlist with Shipment and Rust 24/7, and you can also play Rust as 3v3 Snipers. It also adds the earlier promoted Boots on the Ground War variant, using realism rules with no tanks.Weapon balance has gotten some slight buffs and nerfs. The Crossbow has increased reload speed, the SA87 got reduced recoil, among others. The Under Barrel Shotgun got readjusted in some key ways--increased pellet count, increased shell count, increased range, but reduced rate of fire--so whether that counts as an upgrade or downgrade probably comes down to personal preference.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
