Pathea Games, the developer behind My Time at Portia, has announced a new adventure puzzle game called Ever Forward. You play as a young girl who is trapped "somewhere between imagination and reality" and needs to solve puzzles to find her way out. The game will be released in May and will be available on PC through Steam, Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.The studio has been working on Ever Forward for four years and released the game as a demo called Protoform two years ago. Pathea Games commented that while Protoform's puzzles were great, they needed to redesign the world outside of the puzzles because it wasn't "paced very well nor attractive." Ever Forward is a result of that redesign. The puzzles are designed with the "puzzle gamer" in mind and a few can be completed in multiple ways to fit different kinds of thinkers. New puzzles can be unlocked by collecting fragments of the young girl's memories.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Even though Team Ninja's sequel to 2017's Nioh is only two weeks away, this weekend, you'll have the chance to get one last taste of glorious Yokai-killing action before launch. The new demo for Nioh 2, dubbed the Last Chance Trial, is now available to download on PS4.The demo includes three massive stages for you to wreak holy samurai havoc, a new morphing scythe weapon called the Switchglaive, as well as access to the character creator. While your progress in the demo won't carry over to the full game, your custom character will. In addition, beating the demo will get you the Kamaitachi Helmet for use in the full game. For the lucky folks who got to play around with the game during its open beta back in November, you'll also be glad to hear Team Ninja took the feedback gathered during that period to heart. In a post on the PlayStation blog back in January, the game's creative director, Tom Lee, had this to say about what to expect: “In order to address some of the portions that felt unreasonably difficult, we will be adjusting the balance for all Yokai actions and strengthening several of the special moves and making them more manageable to use. There will be modifications made to control the level of punishments in the Dark Realm such as adding merits where the maximum Ki damage is increased against enemy Yokai as well as the overall management of the player's Ki will be refined.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Developer Gearbox Software has released a brand-new Borderlands 3 hotfix update on PC, PlayStation 4, Google's Stadia cloud gaming service, and Xbox One. The patch addresses a number of community concerns, including progression issues, stuck enemies, weapon adjustments, and more, all of which is detailed in the full patch notes.A number of fixes go toward a lot of gameplay problems, namely those relating to progression and enemies. After the hotfix is applied--which is done through the main menu--game progression during missions like All Bets Off should be resolved, allowing you to finally kill that last enemy so that you can move on. Further, enemies should no longer get stuck in locations such as Cistern of Slaughter and Billy the Anointed should not teleport as often during a fight. Finally, the hotfix will prevent you from getting stuck in the second VIP room at Beggar's Berth.Elsewhere in the hotfix, Borderlands 3 will see a variety of its weapons adjusted. All Dahl assault rifles have had their damage increased by 35%, the legendary shotgun Lob had its magazine increased from four to 12, the legendary sniper Woodblock had its vertical recoil slightly reduced, and more. Check below for a full list of tweaks made in Borderlands 3's upcoming hotfix.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Kojima Productions may be teasing its next game, following the release of Death Stranding in 2019. While there are no concrete details yet, fans have pointed out signs hinting that it could be Silent Hills--the game Hideo Kojima was working on with Guillermo del Toro before the former's unceremonious departure from Konami. The official Kojima Productions Twitter account recently tweeted an image of head of communications, Aki Saito, scribbling on a post-it note. Other Twitter users have been quick to point out some apparent clues in the tweet that point towards Silent Hills.Sorry to be silent everyone! I've been really busy lately.....I think i can say more soon about what we are going to.....#KojimaProductions https://t.co/Vr0qPj3DwV pic.twitter.com/BiweDgGC4v — Kojima Productions (@KojiPro2015_EN) February 28, 2020First off, the tweet uses the word "silent," and if you zoom in on the image you'll see that Saito is using a Pyramid branded pencil--in a presumptuous nod to Silent Hill's most recognisable monster, Pyramid Head. As for what's written on the notepad, it very clearly says, "Next week!" Could we be in store for some Silent Hills news next week? Or maybe this whole thing is just a red herring to disguise what Kojima Productions actually has up its sleeve.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Each MacBook Pro also comes with a four-month subscription to Apple Music and a six-month subscription to Trend Micro Internet Security. If you're looking for a new phone, then the Best Buy flash sale is discounting the iPhone X by $400. Back in January, developer Frictional Games--the studio behind horror titles Amnesia: The Dark Descent and SOMA--began teasing its next game with an abstract ARG. The studio's official website links to a page for "Next Frictional Game," which previously displayed little more than a pulsating white object that has now evolved into a pulsating white fetus. This was accompanied by two unlisted teaser videos uploaded to Frictional's YouTube channel. Fans have combed through the two cryptic videos and compiled a list of all the possible ideas and theories they have on a Google Doc found on the Frictional Games Discord. Now, the studio has released another unlisted teaser simply titled "I am Tasi." Like the first two videos, this one doesn't show much beyond what appears to be a (possibly alien) desert landscape. The frantic character voiceover reiterates that "I am still Tasi," which certainly lends itself to the physiological horror the studio is known for.Frictional announced in 2017 that it was working on two new projects, so it's likely this is related to the previous teaser videos or concerns a completely different project altogether. The studio previously used an ARG to market SOMA, with the end result being a 12-minute gameplay trailer. SOMA was already announced at that point, though, so this latest tease definitely more intriguing.Info from Gamespot.com

Octane is such an adrenaline junkie. Granted, that's his entire schtick--we've known this about the Apex Legends character since his introduction in Season 1: Wild Frontier. The dude blew off his own legs in order to gain the necessary boost of speed to beat the Gauntlet record after all. But the speed demon's heirloom takes Octavio "Octane" Silva's obsession with chasing the high to new extremes and acts as a reminder that the adrenaline junkie's backstory is a sad one.Coming to Apex Legends next week, during the System Override Collection event, Octane's heirloom is a butterfly knife. This isn't an ordinary blade though--the knife is filled with Stim, the drug that Octane uses to achieve his enhanced speed. And so Octane has customized the butterfly knife so that it can be used to both slash opponents and inject the drug into his own body. While inspecting the heirloom, as seen in the video on the Apex Legends blog, Octane will dangerously twirl the butterfly knife around and then stab himself with its plunger to get the Stim into his system. He'll stab himself just because. He doesn't go on to use the drug to run faster either--Octane just celebrates the rush of the Stim coursing through his veins.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues, actions are being taken in an effort to prevent it from spreading. In late January, Disney announced it was closing its Chinese parks--Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland--indefinitely. Now, Disney has taken its efforts one step further, closing Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. Additionally, Universal Studios Japan and Legoland Japan have also closed their doors temporarily. At the moment, the Japanese parks are tentatively scheduled to stay closed until March 15, though that date could change depending on how the situation evolves. A date hasn't been announced for the parks in China to tentatively re-open.What remains to be seen is what impact, if any, the closure will have on the construction of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan. The new land is set to open this summer ahead of the Olympics in Tokyo. As it stands, there's been some discussion about what impact the outbreak could have on the Olympics, though no cancellation or postponement plans have been announced.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It's always exciting to see how companies showcase their games at conventions, especially Nintendo, which tends to go all-out. At PAX East 2020, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the game of the show for Nintendo and the booth is basically a bite-sized recreation of the island getaway. There's a little tent for your starting house, a flowing river, a campfire, a workbench, some forestry in the backdrop, and the rocks that look out to the ocean.Fans are able to walk around and take pictures, and we had a chance to hang out at the booth ourselves. If you're lucky, you could catch Tom Nook, K.K. Slider, or Isabelle roaming around the booth space and get a picture with them, too. You can get a view of the booth from the show floor in a short video from my tweet on location:Wishing I could just chill at the Animal Crossing booth for the rest of the show #PAXEast2020 pic.twitter.com/0wQ4vhSrZn — Michael Higham @ PAX EAST (@michaelphigham) February 28, 2020Not only did we get to relax at Tom Nook's makeshift island getaway on the PAX East show floor, we also got a 20-minutes hands-on experience with Animal Crossing: New Horizons at the booth, too. You can check out our gameplay video below, which features four-player co-op, the new expansive museum, some of the fashion options at Able Sisters, and a bit more of the island itself. The audio quality is also very good, so you can listen to the catchy, relaxing Animal Crossing tunes.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Recent weeks have seen numerous companies from the games industry--both big and small--drop out of this year's Game Developers Conference. This all stems from concerns related to COVID-19, more commonly known as the coronavirus, sparking speculation that the event itself could be canceled. Although the event hasn't been canceled, less than three weeks before it was scheduled to begin, GDC 2020 has officially been postponed and will now take place "later in the summer."
